Bathroom contained mould on many fixtures and fittings. The first room we were shown smelled of mould. The second room wasnt any better but they changed the shower curtain.

The towels started smelling as soon as water touched them. I had to ask them to be changed.

There was no hand towel.

The bed sheets had holes in it.

The shower over the bath was not working properly. I think to call it a shower is exaggerating the definition.

Suffice to say will NOT be booking a stay at Bayview hotel Georgetown again.

The hotel has a great location, it’s close to all the key landmarks in Georgetown, around bars, restaurants, etc. However, the rooms are definitely not in good condition with issues like the shower head being broken among others. Staff are nice and it’s a decent place to stay for a short trip.

The room was cleaned daily, beds well made but only bath towels were given and had to asked for hand towels daily, would be nice that hand towels were given daily. TV programs isn't that superb and the picture resolution was grainy and unclear. Would I want to come back to stay again...maybe, unless the rectifications were done.

Hotel is posh in the reception area, but really old and outdated rooms. Very misleading photos. We booked a room, but when we got there, the room was tiny, and so old, it felt like someone died in it.
We asked to be moved to another room. They charged extra to be moved to a room they considered better but was only slightly bigger. It has the same dated, stale smell and energy.
The room was booked and paid through an online platform, and we were quoted an extra $5 that needed to be paid at the property for tax as part of the listing. But when we got there, it was almost $50 more. They had a sign on the counter explaining the tax act, which was fine, but was not advertised as part of the listing, so quite abit additional to be paid with lack of transparency. The listing could have been more transparent with the taxes and per night additional charges or include as part of room rate. Don't mislead the price, as people using booking apps are usually looking for a good deal.
I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

Dated facilities but okay. Maintenance rather poor. Mould on ceilings in bathroom definitely a no no.
Housekeeping needs a lot more training. Cleaning of bathroom and replacement of soap etc. definitely not up to standard. Coffee sachets expired 5 months ago.

The building is old. The small bath towels were all well washed, well used, well worn. Thin, dull colour and kind of musty.
The bed was extremely hard and gave me neck aches. I asked front desk if I could talk to the manager. She said she will give me a mattress topper. Of course it did not help. With the invisible manager and only 1 more night to go. Let it be. I will warn my friends not to go there.
Anyway, the food was good.

We stayed here for only 3 nights. Originally 4 nites but due to Independence weekends celebration there were no buses or train available from KL to Penang. So, we missed our first night stay. Staff Service is so.. so not so impressive - I’ve requested for two fresh Towel and they delivered two towels but the 2nd one looks really outdated for Floor usage not for the body. I Will not recommend this hotel.

We arrived at 3.45pm, 45 mins after the check-in time. But was informed only 2 rooms of the 5 rooms we have booked was ready. The other 3 rooms were only ready at around 4.15 pm. Already thought the official checked in time was rather late as the standard checked in time for most hotel is 2.00 pm.

Great lication, large rooms, fantastic Roof Bar and Revolving Restaurant.

Could use a Hard Renovation in parts, or a Soft Renovation all over. However still well worth the stay and cost value.

Need to work out more reasonable Happy Hours!

The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel room had a great view of the bay. The bed was quite hard but the shower warmed up quickly and was easy to use. The walls were quite thin, we could hear the people's conversation next door to us. But the hotel room was nice and spacious which was good.

Not so good condition for my friends room. 1233 Water pressure a bit slow n the bathe tub water cnt flow properly. The bathroom door for 1433 hv some sound means Ned to be improved. The room service Ned to be upgraded. Forgot wash the cup & forgot put the floor map since day 2-3 . We stay 4 nights there . Hope when we coming back end of June 26-29th we can upgrade a better one . The blanket for me was too thin . Hope can improve. Overall we hv a nice stay , front counter are friendly.

Was Hacked and Had Crdit Card Charged!

Place is in rundown condition. But, for the price it is fair. My problem, and I should say my big problem, was that I was hacked when using their QR code to order room service. They have a third party app that stole my credit card info. I spent a day in the police department and making expensive calls to my credit card company etc.. AND THE WORST PART - no attention or apology from manager. No compensation and no care at all. IT came to the room and they said they would remove the QR codes from the hotel. They did not. Unacceptable.
I received charges from some company!

Experience for check in is ok. But went into the room, amenities are not provided fully.

1) Toothbrushes and toothpaste (booked two rooms, one room have it, the another don't have it
2) Both rooms only provided with bath towels. Hand towels are not provided.
3) Carpets are dirty, don't appear vacuumed for a super long while.
4) TV has no proper channel. I have decided to manual re-tune all the channels via the settings and it finally got some proper channels, but not according to the channel list shown.

The hotel is a bit old.
The location is a bit off the center of George Town but still walkable if you don't mind.
The swimming pool is on the small side.
The rooftop restaurant is great. You can see the whole Geroge Town almost.
There is a big night food court right next to the hotel where you can get all kinds of food for dinner.

the bed blankets are just individual 2 white sheets sandwiching a thicker blanket. The sheets will separate during sleeping . kettle is dirty with black stains, door is creeking when opening. no place to hang any clothes after washing as the wash line in the bathroom is broken.

Stay was nice but certainly it could use some facelift. Lift lobby reeks of cigarettes and the TV uses AV connection that don't really have options and the options that worked had very poor reception. Not much of accessible power sockets close to bed and worst of all there was no lighting options if you want to have some light to work on something. I have seen some moody pubs have better lighting.

The property is close to town and good location with huge rooms. It is an older style hotel but compensated with a big room and good size beds.
The staff are the most amazing. Very accommodating. They also went out of the way to find my baby top that went missing in the laundry and they found it!
Would recommend and stay again definately!

When I was first checked in, I was put into a horrible room, there was mould on the ceilings in the bathroom and main room, the carpets and curtains were stained. the shower/bath was cracked and rusty, the mirror partially broken. I immediately went down to report this to reception who told me I couldn't' move until the next day because the hotel was full.

I had to stay in the room that nights, the next morning i brought my stuff down. Check in to the new room wasn't till 3 so i did go out for the day as i had limited time. When I did return, I was informed the room was ready and it was upgraded. The second room was in a much better condition.

Ultimately it worked out okay, but the first room left a poor impression of this hotel!

The room was pretty large for the price.

music of the roof-top bar (situated one level above the 16th floor) could be disturbing to those staying on floors closer to the 16th floor.

The pool with a depth of up to 3.5 metre was a pleasant surprise. A separate suntanning area adjacent to the pool was rather thoughtful.

Location of the hotel was near to many food courts, eateries, a large supermarket (Mydin) and wet markets.
