Overall ok but weak Wi-Fi

Overall the room is neatly cleaned, conveniently located with a nice view. Only if they can provide a thicker pillow for bed, and the Wi-Fi can be stronger. The Wi-Fi here is very weak that I’ve to use my own data for browsing website or work.

The WiFi in room is very very bad. The only string WiFi is at reception lobby. I was given to understand it has something to do with the data plan the hotel has or router hardware possibly. Shower room should have installed handle bar for senior to hold on for safety reason. Only bath towel no face or hand towel. Really minimalist. Good point is the room and bed are clean. Quiet environment at one end of Penang Road and Grab taxi service responded within minutes.

No complaints here, it's an old but well maintained hotel. Big plus was the bath tub which the kids loved playing in with.

The only thing that wasn't so good was that there were some homeless people sleeping on the staircase of the hotel at night.

Convenient location as I could walk around most areas - markets, restaurants and nearby attractions.
Not as many people as expected but it was still quite jammed so I was glad that I didn't need to drive and look for a parking lot.
My children loved the bathtub and breakfast area as it had a nice beach looking view.

We stayed on level 1. Internet access was almost non existence. Very weak signal which disappeared. Staff indirectly did not acknowledge the wifi issues. I ended up buying phone data plans. I could hear everything going on in the next room. Even their private moments. Restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. There was limited supply of Toilet Paper. I had to call again and again for it. Other wise value for money.

Location is great, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good with good coffee, excellent sea view on 11th floor restaurant. Free shuttle bus stop in front of hotel. You can catch free shuttle bus from bus terminal outside Butterworth Ferry Dock to go to hotel. Only 10-12 MYR by 10 min Grab to airport.

The room is smaller and uglier than pictured, there's no toothbrush, cup, or shampoo or soap, you must buy your own.
In order to save money, They shutdown the elevator at night..
Still, it's clean and not noisy, toilet is clean too.
As for the breakfast buffet its standard and a bit too chinese.

Indian staffs are okay. But other race staffs are not so good. No cooperative. We ask us to book grab taxi to airport. They ask to give our phone. Actually I was trying to book grab taxi from Singapore mobile. It was keep on coming our Singapore destination only. Finally security man who was working at hotel lobby. He was booked for grab taxi for us. Thanks and appreciate him.

Good location & views but terrible service!

Terrible service.. won't stay again! While location is central and views are spectacular staff were rude and unhelpful in general. Making it difficult to organise storage post check out, refusing to arrange taxi or grab when leaving, acting busy & uninterested.. one Chinese lady at reception knows how to make your visit as uncomfortable as possible everytime you encounter her. Overall condition of hotel rooms are poor and need total revamp. The location and views are positive attributes but awful staff behaviour is enough to put you off from staying there forever.

This hotel is reasonable for the price with breakfast included. Initially given a room with a hole in the ceiling above the bath and water slowly dripping down. Changed to another room. The room was ok, not bad not great, and upper floors have a decent view. Soundproofing was lacking but I didn't have any issues with noise. The breakfast was good enough and is located on a high floor, which offers views and a nice morning. However the process of having to collect breakfast coupons from the main reception desk every single morning was inefficient. If I couldn't find a better option at the same price then it would be ok to stay there again, given the fair price and included breakfast.

Hotel review (pretty poor)

Rooms were decent, however lacked a few things that a basic hotel usually provide e.g. no complimentary toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner etc. Free food coupons are given per day but the food is pretty awful to say the least. The only things which are edible are the fruits and toast(can’t go wrong with that). I guess the view makes up a bit for this. Hotel staff are generally friendly (however Malay lady with suit at reception with glasses needs to learn what customer service is - a smile wouldn’t hurt). With regards to the WiFi, you need to connect every few minutes - with a ridiculously long password (this is probably to cut down on usage from customers). The poor review is due to the hidden service charges. They charge on a daily basis and also collected money for this when checking in. This is pretty ridiculous for a 3.5 star hotel.

Good location, OK stay but noisy at night

The staff allowed us to check in early without additional charges.

Room was OK but could be cleaner. The rubber mat in the bathroom was kind of gross. There was live music every night from an establishment nearby, abt 9.30-11.30pm. The music was loud so we couldnt turn in early. There was variety for breakfast, taste was OK.

The hotel is near to some famous food places. Nasi kandar, roti bakar and morning market beside chowrasta are just right down the street.

I will think twice about returning

The location of this hotel is really good. I love how it is walkable-distance to places of interest and good food! However, I would think twice about returning to this hotel again. Here's why:
1) I found out that the duvet cover were extremely dirty and requested for a change. Well, I thought they would actually change it during make-up room but apparently they didn't. So I returned in the evening to find out that duvet covers for both beds were not changed and called the housekeeping to change it. Their response was that they can only change it the next morning as they do not have any spare ones. We then went to the reception and told them to do something about it. Finally after about 45 mins the people came to change it.
2) I requested for extra two bottles of MINERAL WATER and they said that it is chargable.
3) During check-in, they collected RM100 from me as a deposit. However, during my check-out, they only returned me RM70. When asked why, they took some time to investigate only to find out that they made a mistake. It delayed my process of checking out as I was in a hurry to catch a bus to my next destination.
So, I would really think twice about returning to this hotel for my next trip, though I didn't face any problems with them on my first trip in 2015.
