The Hotel running out of water at night until 12am, we cannot take a shower, pee & etc. When I complained, the staff said it is because the Hotel Fully Occupied thats why running out of water. If we want to pee/poops we need to come at lobby! Lower level have water (we stay at 9th floor) It make me really disappointed. After the water came it is very dirty (yellowish). The TV at my room broken cannot lower the volume (Maintenance came and change the TV)
You also can hear noisy from the other room (family with little kids) because in the wardrobe have a door for piping & etc and it connected to side room, so can hear very loud.

The room look very old style and outside carpets looks dirty and creepy. Not worth for what i’ve paid 550RM for one night.

What i love in only the place near to restaurants and can walk to Padang Kota

FILTHY 80% SMOKING FLOORS HOTEL WORST HOTEL

This is the most terrible hotel experience. The rooms are filthy and all family rooms are SMOKING ONLY. This hotel is falsely advertising as 231 smoke-free guestrooms where instead 80% of their rooms are all SMOKING FLOOR ONLY. ALL FAMILY ROOMS ARE IN SMOKE FLOORS ONLY.

I booked a family room by paying extra and the hotel front desk told me ALL FAMILY ROOMS are smoking only. So, I reluctantly ask for a downgrade to single rooms which they say are the only options for non-smoking in the hotel. Only 3 out of 18 floors in the hotel are of single room non-smoking. They then want to CHARGE EXTRA for getting an extra sleeping bed in the downgraded single room. This is ridiculous. I have already paid extra for the family room which they falsely advertised as SMOKE-FREE but clearly they don't care. On top of wanting to charge me more, they also want to take away another paid breakfast.

Overall this is the worst hotel experience. Do not stay in this filthy, dark and bad hotel management. No manager on duty. They asked me to wait a few hours for the manager to come to work. Crazy!

You are better off going elsewhere.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of positives going for this hotel. I booked this on a whim by looking at a couple of pictures and honestly I wished I had of spent 10 minutes more doing some research on this property.

The staff were mostly friendly and the reception / foyer is basically the only modern luxury that the hotel has going for it, once you get off the lift onto your floor the luxury ends there. Now I know that this isn’t a luxury hotel but this was quite poor for what it was.

The room was small and basic, and very dated. The bed looked clean and was mostly comfortable, it was a bit hard for my partner, however the sheets were too small so when you slept at night the bottom sheet would unravel and you’d end up sleeping on the mattress which is kind of gross.

It was annoying to only have one key card, which meant that when you arrived you’d have to use it to turn the lights / electricity on and this included the small fridge so nothing would keep cold straight away, and when you leave you have to take the card out from the slot meaning the fridge would turn off. This was very annoying.

The bathroom was probably the worst part of the room. We had to step down into the bathroom from the bedroom, and it was extremely dated. The bathtub shower combo was very old, and had a gross shower curtain. The shower was barely hot as well, only like warm. The towels were the worst for me, they were so thin & small, and a floormat we assume. No hand towel or face towel.

Why tax was charged?

Hotel.com charged me about Malaysian Ringgit 109 tax and asked me to get the tax refund from Hotel Continental. But Hotel Continental said it was Hotel.com who cahrged me the tax and I should speak to Hetel.com. Please tell me why you charged me the tax. I am a Malaysian and should not have been charged the tax. Please arrange tax refund of Malaysian Ringgit of around 109 to me. Thank you.

Room just ok with 3* standard but I believe can do better. Ie, coffee n drinking water should be on complimentary rather than cgarge far too expensive ie Rm 5 per bottle of 500ml drinking water & Rm7 persachet of coffee. Room cleanliness acceptable, FO staff helpful. To check on their room facilities such as TV socket I believe not working well. It keep switch off while I am watching.

Avoid at all cost.

1. Receptionist was rude & didn't speak English (man). The lady was polite.
2. Ask for hair dryer, after 1 hour and countless request, they said don't have.
3. Housekeeper was very rude.
4. Pillow was damn, bed was uncomfortable.
5. No sufficient parking for hotel guests. Very tight parking.
6. Room is old.
7. Lack toilet amenities. No toothbrush, shaver etc. Only provide body wash and shampoo.
8. Internet was crawling slow.
9. Room smells like cigarette. It says no smoking floor yet provide ashtray in the room.

Didn’t expect the hotel to look like a budget hotel. Looked different in photos! Room service ended as early as 9pm. We arrived at hotel only at close to 11pm and wanted to have supper since we didnt have any dinner in the plane and driver already waiting when we arrived. Called front desk to ask the number for room service and staff had the cheek to say “I’m busy...” Luckily there was a small cafe across the road which was still opened. My daughter left her iphone 7 earpiece in the room and was dismayed to find it missing when we returned to our room in the evening after we requested for room service in the day time. Breakfast was okay but throughout our 4 days stay, it was the same menu. Getting around town was a breeze though with Grab service. Ordered room service on second day but food was very dissapointing.

Air-con very noisy, water leaking from the aircon. The floor around the toilet bowl is always very wet. hotel very old. Booked 2 rooms, when checking out, they charge us RM 180 saying that the bedsheet (RM80), towel (RM 50) & pillow case (RM30) is stain. That's ridiculous.

Other than poor or no reception of WiFi in my room, its worth staying as room is spacious than many budget hotels with good WiFi reception but smaller room.But who cares,doesn't make sense to stay in a room just to enjoy free WiFi.
Love the big single bed and spacious room .
At the rate I am paying ,with complimentary breakfast ,unfair to ask for more.
A hotel of my choice.i love it.

You get what u paid, for the price, I think this hotel is acceptable, the cleanliness of toilet is good and the staffs at lobby are friendly as well. The only disadvantage is that this hotel is quite far from those main attraction, if you are traveling with old folks and children please consider this factor before you book.

The hotel is strategically located as it is on one end of the Penang Road. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. However, the rooms hv ants on the tables which meant leaving any type of food on the tables will attract lots of ants and spoil your food... There are some leaks in the toilet bowl and the bidet.

We stayed for 2 nights @ 3 rooms. Considered as value for money for those looking for budget hotel. Near to the town centre and its easy access. We can walk around town within walking distance & go the places that we like. There is a \"Hameed Soup\" shop fronting the hotel.

Always my preferred stay in Georgetown.

It is close to the busy Penang Road, a walking distance away, where you can do your shopping for almost anything from clothing to culinary experience. The famous nasi kandar \"Line Clear\" is only around 100m from the hotel. For relaxation by the sea, Padang Kota Lama ( where Fort Cornwallis is located) is only around 3 km. What more can I ask for?

Hotel with a sea view

Beds are comfortable. Location is good for food, street art, bars and going to the ferry terminal. There are convenience stalls just down the street. Disappointing factors were the breakfast, that the bathtub was a little small and not that clean, and the swimming pool closes at 6pm.

- hair dryer upon request subject to availability.
- staff not friendly
- Shower tap valve broken but was fixed.
- free WiFi was eventually request to call up for daily password renewal.
- breakfast was terrible cups ,plates are all dirty and when it is crowded most serving food is empty.
- clean cup plates are not available on time and furthermore daily breakfast coupon need to get from counter daily.
- only location and sea view is nice and acceptable.

The location is good, near a lot of place to buy things and food, it's exactly at the center of George Town. Transportation is ok. Easy to go other place like It Ferringi, Penang Hill and other tourist attraction. Staff are good but the breakfast is not good. Three days almost all the same food and no much choices. Eat outside is better.

Reception staff are friendly. Check-in & check-out was handled efficiently. Called housekeeping for request but no staff answer at the department, have to called Reception instead. Room & bathroom looks tired & run down, window unable to close properly due to lock is broken and only 2 power point socket at writing desk but able to use only 1 socket due to another 1 is loose when plug in the device. No choice hv to unpluged the TV to use the socket. Only 1 pillow for each bed !! Disappointed... Rooms require to upgrade asap...

A fine hotel for having a vacation

Hotel is within walking distance for good local food . Breakfast is include with the room . Best price compare to other hotel nearby. Room is huge and comfortable with sea view and city view .
