Very enjoyable and relaxing two night stay in this historic accommodation. Somewhat small room but nicely decorated with good bathroom. The outside areas are lovely and comfortable. Feels like rural setting but close to access roads and only 10 minute drive into city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn’t get to use outdoor pool but it looked very nice.

Super staff sympathique et attentionné. La chambre était tout à fait agréable pour une standard.
Petite réserve sur les produits d'hygiène mis à disposition : il y a juste du savon liquide qui n'est pas doux du tout et pas de shampoing.
Le petit dej est tout à fait honorable, il manquait juste du lait végétal en alternative au lait de vache.
Et sinon la piscine chauffée aurait été un + car fin septembre on ne pouvait déjà plus en profiter alors qu'elle donnait très envie !
Mais au global très bonne expérience proche d'Aix et dans la nature !

Hotel is very charming and with a very good restaurant, however we were traveling with little kids and hotel was uncomfortable for families, no elevator, family room 2nd bed was very uncomfortable and a bunker where you could not stand up straight without bumping your head and very dangerous stairs for kids.

A beautiful property!! Not too luxurious but very romantic and classy. The service was a top notch. We very much enjoyed our dinner in a gorgeously decorated restaurant. One night family.

We drove to Nice from Bordeaux and stopped at Domaine Gaogaia for one night. The hotel environment was very picturesque. The room was clean while the bathroom was newly renovated. Unfortunately, the restaurant inside the hotel was closed on the day we stayed, but it recommended us to its sister restaurant, which was a good experience also.

This property was the nicest part of being in Provence. We went sightseeing in the day and returned for dinner several nights. The room was the most charming French atmosphere from the older beams and doors to the beautiful windows with shutters. Our room was on the corner of the domaine and looked out over the property. We will be back for sure!

Lovely chateau style hotel with a popular gourmet restaurant outside in the countryside about 15 minutes of Aix.I arrived at 8 pm so the restaurant was buzzing and nobody was manning the hotel reception which was the same as the restaurant reception -so highly confusing after a long journey. The guy who finally came did not seem aware of my reservation, but after a lot of questions he was kind to lift my suitcase up the flight of stairs. Room was very clean and well equipped-I liked having a proper kettle rather than a Coffee maker- however shabby chic decor chipped or unpainted furniture and door, was odd with the beautiful contemporary bathroom and bed and lamps. I had upgraded to a room with a lovely patio- unfortunately did not get a chance to sit on it! I would have liked more than one towel even though I was only one person!!! Traveling as a single person has been difficult in French hotels, but this restaurant made it a little easier. they sat me on the edge of restaurant near open kitchen which made it interesting for me and the servers were very attentive and solicitous. I had the best lamb dish I have had was at that restaurant! Breakfast was simple but sufficient and again the servers were very helpful in teaching me how to use the various equipment and getting ice for my water bottle and did not make me feel awkward as a single traveler. . I would return with my husband for a more relaxing stay in the lively grounds and to use the pool and patio!

We stayed two days on vacation. The ambiance is great - a nice country Provencal. The pool perfect - service was amazing. The staff was always helpful and pleasant - and very nice to our dog.. A staff person put some ice in our dog's water bowl to keep the water cool. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. They have a bar area that serves tapas which was popular with the locals. The hotel is only 15 or 20 minutesfrom Aix. Overall, a super experience and a great place to relax in the country.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Great outdoor pool - it was a joy to swim after a long, hot day of touring. Restaurant was excellent also. Room (triple) pretty spacious by European standards. Only issue is we couldn’t find towels for the pool (but we also didn’t ask because it wasn’t convenient). Oh and also there is a huge pothole at one of the entrances - on a dirt/gravel road leading to the property. It really needs to be fixed because we hit it hard and we’re worried we had damaged our rental car. Otherwise the hotel and service were great and we loved pro stay!

Beautiful setting and our room was decorated in a farmhouse chic style. The bed was really comfortable and the bedding super soft. We slept really well that night.

The hotel itself was so peaceful and relaxing. The staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The manager/owner even had food made for our baby when the restaurant was closed.

We loved it and will stay here again someday.

The hotel is set in a rural location and as such is quite. Its ideal if you have a car and want to be away from the city centre. Its an old hotel but we found it charming. There is a nice restaurant on site with a beautiful glass sun room. Rooms are generous size.

It’s a nice location...

I so wanted to like this place. It’s in a wonderful country setting and he building itself is very nice.
But there was something about the ambience that didn’t quite work. Perhaps it was that there had been a wedding at the hotel, but our welcome was not quite what you would expect at a small hotel; and the much vaunted restaurant was only serving a buffet (?wedding leftovers). Thereafter, it was expensive breakfast buffets; it would be easy to double the cost if you room in the restaurant.
Our room was small, and quite noisy from the corridor as others have pointed out.
There is a large pool but it wasn’t very child friendly.
Final gripe was that there is not enough parking for guests; the overspill car park is down an unmade track likely to damage your hire car.
Suitable for people who want the full country hotel experience.

My wife and I had such a lovely stay at Domaine & Cie. Was greeted by a lovely lady during check in (who I assume was the owner). She brought us to the room and gave us a quick overview. We got a room with direct access to a quiet shared courtyard which was great for early morning tea and coffee! The room was modern, clean and had just the right touches to give it a great country feel without the “dated” look. We had dinner and breakfast at their glasshouse dining area which was really pretty. Clean, comfortable and would rate it higher than 5/5 if I had the option to.

We tried to stay here first a week before, but due to some misunderstanding our reservation was cancelled. They were very sorry for the inconvenience and did everything they could to remedy the situation, starting with wine...
Hotels.com was immediately in touch with us to help us find another location. Customer service was superb.
A week later we decided to give them another try, and we were so happy that we did. First of all the location is all you would want from a Provence setting.
Our room could have been bigger and the bathroom supplies should have been more upscale for this Hotel, but we are very easy travelers, so it didn’t bother us. The restaurant is one of the best in the area, had an amazing meal with great service.

Beautiful setting outside of town. Friendly and very helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Large room and bathroom. Love the ambiance of the place. Old tile floors, old walls, old staircase. Views from our upstairs room outstanding. I must have taken a dozen photos from window. Free parking!!! Lovely pool area. Nice sized pool. Dinner food was delicious. I would love to stay here again!! The only problem we encountered is when we had to park in the back parking lot, the driveway is very eroded and needs to be regraded.

We loved this place from the moment we arrived. We were shown to our room which was comfortable and clean, small and simple. We threw open the shutters and windows to catch the cool breeze and sunset. We took a quick swim as the last rays of warm sun shone. We had a wonderful 3 course dinner and wine for two and then breakfast in the morning, both outside and enjoyed the view of the gardens and surrounding fields, all of which were bathed in light reminiscent of a Vangough painting. We will definitely return to stay here again.

A Hidden Treasure

Located at the outskirts of Marseille, the hotel is very much unlike your typical name-brand franchise typically located along noisy shopping malls and city boutiques. On the contrary, Domaine & Cie is in a quiet, almost French countryside location (although it is only 35-40 minutes from Marseille airport) offering great classic French provincial charm and grace. There is no imposing \"lobby\" but rather a foyer/living room with a small desk where you are greeted and welcomed by the resident staff. The place is well appointed and renovated to preserve the French provincial charm devoid of flash and bling.

And if you're hungry - the restaurant provides the guests a great test of Provence.

It was a nice pick on expedia,
PRO: great traditional building on really pretty grounds. The place is lost in the provence countryside with lovely views. Not too far from Aix (you do need a car).

Against: corridor in the hotel gets quite noisy in the morning (we stayed 3 nights) with kids running or just people closing the room doors. One particular member of staff was not particularly helpful as he told us 10:20am was too late for coffee and croissant. That should not be too difficult in a hotel to do 2 coffees... especially if you are miles away from anywhere. Restaurant food was ok, we tried one night and were not tempted further.

Overall: nice place, service could improve, can be noisy in morning. Room was excellent.

Do not book this hotel

We booked this hotel as the first night of a trip to Provence, flying from Glasgow. What a nightmare that turned out to be! We knew our flight into Marseille would mean arriving late in the evening. As considerate customers we advised the hotel of this via Expedia, who phoned the hotel on our behalf and confirmed that this would be no problem. Payment was taken in advance. So we arrived tired and ready for a good night's rest to be informed that they had given our room to someone else and there were no other rooms available. The staff appeared completely disinterested and kept saying it was not their fault. They had arranged for us to stay in some other hotel. We did not know where this was and as it turned out, neither did they. After much altercation, a member of staff agreed to guide us to the hotel if we followed by car. by now it was well after midnight and we had been travelling for 12 hours. The hotel he took us to was in darkness. Eventually a man appeared from the carpark carrying what appeared to be a bottle full of pee. He informed the person supposedly guiding us that this was the wrong hotel. By the time we reached the substitute hotel it was around 2am and they demanded my husband's credit card. He refused and there was further negotiation by phone and we were given a room. I would not recommend this as a start to a holiday. Nil points!!

Renovated old country farmhouse about 5ks from the bustle of Aix en Provence. Lovely big stylish room with outside area and rainwater shower. No lift but easy stairs. Breakfast good but dinner and drinks expensive if you only ate at hotel. Nothing much around to see except for countryside which was pretty and peaceful. Nice to come back to after busy Aix.

The room and facilities were great, very clean and spacious. However,our dinner in the restaurant was very disappointing - the food was average quality and there was only two wait staff on for a Friday night, as well as hosting two couples having their menu tasting and international journalists doing a feature report. One wait staff, Charlotte, is highly commended for her friendliness and efficiency. However, the male waiter needed some training in service and a push to serve tables more effectively. I complained to the manager on the night about our experience, she apologized and explained that they only had two staff, plus wedding couples and the journalists. She was aware that we were guests in the hotel, but no adjustments to our bill was made. Finally, the check out experience was not good at all. I had booked and prepaid for the accommodation and the staff member was quick to charge my partners credit card before showing us what the bill included. When she realised her mistake, she blamed another staff member who did not adjust the bill properly from the start and couldn't refund the card until her manager came on duty. We had a taxi arrive and needed to leave, so I asked for a phone call or email to confirm the refund had been processed. We received neither and had to follow up once we arrived at destination. Overall, service training and processes must be reviewed and improved if I would recommend the hotel or return.

Quiet Countryside

Perhaps we didn't read the fine prints and found that the hotel location was about 10 minutes from Aix's center. But as we drove up, we were very pleased with this location (travelling by car). Beautiful buildings and grounds, large lawns, big swimming-pool, tall trees and quiet. We found immediately that the staff was utterly friendly and helpful and in a very genuine way - as well as very funny.

Great hotel, very near Aix-en-Provence (if you have a car), set in stunning countryside. The building is a stunning country house surrounded by gardens and nature, very quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean, simple but stylish, with all the amenities one might need. Breakfast was provided at an extra cost of €12, but it was worth it as it comprised of fresh baguettes, local cheeses and jams and croissants! Loved our stay at Domain e & Cie and would definitely recommend it to anyone

Dans un joli cadre, la chambre est correcte avec une très bonne literie. Petit bémol : le fameux rideau de douche. Pensez à mettre le chauffage avant l'arrivée des clients.

Le lit n'était accessible que par une echelle de meunier, très raide, j'ai des petits pieds mais la descente etait tres compliquée. La chambre etait très basique, peinture écaillée, pas de chaussons alors qu'il y avait du carrelage (froid) au sol. Ne mérite pas le prix

Le cadre est magnifique, l’hôtel très charmant tout comme le restaurant.
Le personnel est agréable, le petit dej super ! Le seul bémol est le bruit un peu trop présent dans les chambres .. la 1 donnant sur le couloir qui mène aux chambres .. mais le séjour était très agréable tout de même.
