The hotel was old and needed some repairs and upgrades. That being said, I expected some of that considering the age of the hotel and the location five blocks from the heart of the city. The breakfast and tea room was the most charming thing about the hotel. It was bright and very clean. The buttery croissants were especially good. The best I’ve tasted so far in France (Paris included). The staff were exceptional.

The place is in a GREAT location and the staff are wonderful. Unfortunately for us, France was experiencing a massive heatwave 95 and their AC broke. We had a 3 night reservation but left after the first night, couldn’t take the heat. They totally understood. Would give it a try another time.

The hotel is in a good location. The first room I was gifin was the top floor. It was too hot. I told them that the AC wasn\"t working. Someone came up and said don't you hear it. I pointed out tha it was blowing warm air. That was when they discovered the AC wasn't working. The next day they told me they didn't know when it would be fixed. They purcased fans for all the rooms the next day and moved me to a lower floor. The corner where the hotel is is a hang out at all hours of the night. Since it was hot, I had to try to sleep with the window open and noise throughout the night. Wheen businesses closed in France, the received 90% of their prior incone. They should have made sure key systems work. The people working at the hotek were very nice but my stay was miserabe and without sleep.

After letting them know, they provided a fan and the room temp was fine. We found our room small and unfortunately, due to the ac problem, noise could be heard from the street. Our room on the 4th floor faced the street. Hotel doesn't have elevator.

Location was convenient for walking around the city. The street noise was disturbing so we had to sleep with the windows closed. Once closed though, it was fine. The rooms are small (like a small NYC hotel) but sufficient for our needs (i.e., a place to sleep and shower while exploring). It was a good, affordable, safe choice for travelers like us.

First visit to Aix
This is a very nice hotel, especially well situated for people who arrive by train or bus. We were coming off a Rhone River cruise and found the hotel room was smaller than our river ship room! Despite that, our room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, with excellent linens and lots of hot water in the shower. We found the breakfast well worth it, maybe because we drink a lot of coffee in the morning. The staff were wonderful.

PARKING tips!
Parking is very difficult in this city. Here are tips I wish I knew first before going here...drive to hotel first, its a one way street. Park illegally in front for a minute and run to desk in hotel, get directions for the parking garage. Drive slowly to garage, if you miss it, you have to drive around the whole city to get back and start all over! The garage is UNDERGROUND, very tight and small so take your time getting into the spot(everyone does)...take your ticket with you . When you are leaving the town , pay at machine with your ticket -THEN go to your car. $20.00 night. Good luck.

Very nice hotel, clean and with comfortable bedding in the centre of Aix en Provence. The hotel is in an old building so it is not totally soundproof and the rooms are small. Apart from that, it is highly recommended. And the staff is nice.

In Aix for 2 nights and 2 days and had a great time. The hotel is well located and we enjoyed their hospitality.

The room was small but clean & comfortable,unfortunately they were having plumbing problems both days of our stay and we had no hot water in the mornings, however the hot water was restored in the afternoon and they graciously gave us complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. We don't fault the staff as these things happen and they responded appropriately.
