If you are looking for renovated, super clean and reasonable sized room, GRAND DRAGON IS THE PICK! Especially for families w young children where hygiene and cleanliness is the top priority.

The downside is there are no shopping mall here except some eateries and super markets.

Not bad for this price. I found a dirty towel when I arrived the room, but everything else looked clean. I stayed 5 nights. Middle of that I was requested to change the room due to the construction noise. The staff were good; some of them were able to speak English.

Room is clean and spacious, bedding and pillows are comfy. Not much shopping and far from the big hotels and casinos. Shuttle runs till 6 o’clock. 10 minutes taxi to vicinity casinos. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in’s was quick.

The rooms were excellent. Unfortunately the gym was closed. The surrounding location was pretty good. You’re a short cab ride to the large casinos. There’s a drug store, Korean restaurant, and a massage parlor nearby.

Overall a nice place

It was a very comfortable stay for the 4 nights in Macau. I faced issues though in communicating with the staff at the front desk at the time of check-in and checkout. They seriously lack at understanding English language. But apart from that the room comfort, cleanliness and maintenance was exemplary.

Good value for money

Stayed one night at this hotel and found it to be great value for money. At less than half the rates of major casino hotels, Taipa Square Hotel offers a clean, reasonably spacious, and comfortable room for a good night's sleep. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with routes going through all parts of Macau. There are local restaurants and several supermarkets nearby, definitely a plus for budget travelers.

The room itself was fine. No movies on the TV was a bit annoying (have you ever stayed in a hotel too cheap to give you at least one movie channel?).
The staff were I'm afraid poor.
a) I asked for the place I needed to go to to be written in Chinese for the taxi driver. Surely not an unreasonable, or unusual request. I had to ask four times. And the front desk staff couldn't do it. I had a bad map in English. The member of staff didn't know how to write the (major) road in Chinese, then couldn't find it on the internet. S/he couldn't write \"Drive down this road and the passenger will tell you where to stop.\", but rather wrote \"Take the passenger to this bus stop'. Which was in English on the map. I said that this wasn't going to work. Of course it didn't and the taxi driver ended up abusing me. Marks out of 10 for the staff? 0. They are badly educated and/or completely unused to English speaking guests.
b) Also, information in the room or on the web says you have to pay for breakfast. OK, cheap, but there you go. So you go to the restaurant to pay. They don't know what you're talking about and ask for a coupon. OK so you go back to Reception (from whence you have just come) and ask to buy a coupon. Rather than selling you the magic piece of paper there is consternation and much debate. I left. I won't be going back.

The view was nice and the location was good. Just 10 mins to the near sight-seeing locations.

first of all, the bedroom floor was dirty! Full of crumbs!
we booked a queen size bed as i am 6ft tall. then they gave us a double size bed and were insisting its a queen!!!!
I own a queen size and always stay in a queen size!
was a joke!
It was noisy! you could clearly hear next door guests each time they went to the toilet and were showering.
guests in the foyer were so loud and noisy waking us up so early at 7am each morning with no respect that other guests mite be sleeping!

Cosy, budget hotel.

Arrived at the hotel at about 11am and asked if I could check-in early. Hotel was very accommodating and allowed me to do so as the room was available. Did not have to pay extra either. Room was very basic, but it's expected for this price in Macau. Bed very comfortable, but pillows a little soft. Shower pressure is good. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the hotel.

an OK but over-priced hotel

Generally speaking, the hotel is ok. Maybe because of the Chinese New Year, the price is surprisingly expansive at ~200 USD per night. One would expect much much more for such a pricey room. If you can get a deal for ~80 USD per night, it would be a nice place to stay.

Beyond expectation and unforgettable stay.

We booked Standard Twin Bed Room, but we had a free upgraded to Deluxe Twin, thanks to Mr Tony the front desk's official kind gestures. The room were superb and nice, clean and comfortable, except the shower head was a bit rundown, water splash every ways when turn on the water shower. Beside that, everything was just perfect. The staffs were polite and courtesy. Check-in were quick.

Chinese Restaurant at 3rd floor served very nice Chinese Food that personally I will rate them 4 Stars. If visit the restaurant, must try the chicken porridge at the restaurant, is fantastic. The Dim Sum was nice too. One thing to take note, must make table reservation a day before to avoid disappointment of No Table Available.

This hotel is nearby to Galaxy and Venetian, taking cab is approximately 5 minutes. Do beware, after 12 midnight, taking cab back to hotel, will cost you 10 time more then it normal, as the cabbies will not charge normal meter fares.

Going again in May 2016, will definitely stay here again.

Hotel Taipa Square - Shuttle bus at Macau Pier

The 2nd time stay here just being close to my relatives. Actually, Hotel is quite far to go Venetian, Galaxy and the shuttle bus they don't have a stop in Taipa Ferry Pier which is at Macau Ferry Terminal Pier Only for each 1 hour once. Remember if you take shuttle bus, take from Macau Ferry Pier! Overall clean and quiet.

We arrived airport n showed taxi travel our hotel voucher n unfortunately they dont know this hotel in english n we had to go information centre to write hotel name in chinese n cost MOP 50. When we return to airport used meter taxi but taxi lady driver dont want to use taxi meter n charged us MOP 100 & took us 10 mins only to reach airport. Registration no. MT 7300. BEWARE

Good things.
1. Hotel is good clean. rooms and path room are really good.
2. It has a Casino on the first up to 2nd floor.
3. Location is about 15- 20 minutes away form Town Down the \" Dream City\".
4. Hotel rate is good much better than those hotels at the Dream City in Cotai,Mocau as you aware.

Bad things about this Hotel for your info.

1. No shuttle bus bus services
2. Taxi drivers and not polite and don't speak English
3. Their Casinos are really tempting and its no good for those who don't take the risks.

Taipa Square Hotel review

Room was very comfortable but the check-in experience was not good. Hotel insisted on a deposit by credit card but I didn't have a credit. I offered my debit card but they kept asking for a credit card which I don't have. In the end they accepted a cash deposit which they refunded the next day. I arrived at 1.00am and was leaving at 10.00am the next day so this was quite pointless.

I stayed there for a business trip. I was able to walk to famous museum and church within 20 minutes, and found quite a few good restaurants nearby. However, figuring out the proper bus routes to go to other places from here is quite a challenge.

Decent Hotel at Taipa

The hotel is decent and the staff is cooperative. Thanks to Mr. Alan for helping me in everything that I asked for. The hotel is located very close to many stores like 7-11. The Grand Mart which provided anything and everything is also walking distance. The only Indian restaurant within walking distance is Indian Garden. Priced as per Macau standards, the hotel was very nice for Indian food. The hotel also provides shuttle services to Macau island which makes travel convenient.

We had a nice stay at Hotel Taipa Square. It was in a good location for us to visit family who live nearby. The room was clean. However, the room were quite cold at night and the heat didn't seem to work in our room, so we used an extra comforter provided in the closet. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

This is a Chinese hotel on the wrong side of the border. The beds are hard as marble, no heating with 10 degrees outside. It is terribly overpriced with as only facility a casino. Bar is closed and restaurant only open for breakfast for which you are required to buy a coupon first on the 21st level. It is unfriendly by the looks and service is terrible with reception staff friendly as a prison door. Location is terrible and transportation totally inadequate. Their shuttle only serves Macau Ferry Terminal and not Cotai Ferry Terminal. It goes only every hour and you better arrive early before it's full.
One tip: you want to go to Cotay Strip? Take the shuttle to Macau Ferry and change to one of the free shuttles there back to the island. Takes one hour...
They spoiled our holiday and we paid too much for it.

Too much money for not a great facility.

Smelled like smoke as soon as I walked in the building. Reception is on the top floor, a bit odd. Receptionists were not anything special. For $225 USD a night I would have excpected so much more. Might as well fork out another $100 (USD) and stay at the Venitian. Boo.

Never Go Back!

The room was very small, there was no lock at the door at all. There was no security to enter from the hotel lift to the room. There was no good material for bathroom.

The price was very expensive for this kind of hotel. I could have booked 5 star hotel for this price.

Most importantly, the room given was not the same as advertised.

Hotel location is not bad as there are taxis immediately available. Rooms are big and clean, could rest well after whole day of touring around. Very few could speak and understand English so communication is a little bit difficult. Overall, I would stay again in this hotel next time I visit Macau.

Was expecting the basic service due to the hotel rate but we are very surprised by the level of service & concern showed to us. My daughter fell ill & we asked the front desk for info on the nearest hospital/clinic. Instead of simply telling us the name of the hospital, the staff asked if we were ready to leave so he could call a cab for us immediately. By the time we reached the lobby, he had already prepared a hotel card for our return journey back to the hotel. On the next day when we checked out, another manager approached us & asked if our daughter was better as she heard that we went to the hospital yday. Definitely coming back to this hotel if we are coming to macau again.

They Got It Right This Time

I wasn`t like it during the first time stay due to no wireless internet access. The only thing that make me come back again is the local cheap food and convenience stores around the neighborhoods. The icing this time is the hotel finally installed the wireless internet for all the rooms. Currently, u can only access the internet in your room and not the main lobby area, but that not critical as most people dun mingle around the lobby area beside check-in and out.

Airport bus stops right infront of hotel and costs only $12. Small, but clean rooms. Nice shower. Great location with subway few minutes walk away. Galleria shopping mall along with tons and tons of restaurants a block away. Beauty salons all around, no shortage of coffee shops. Price of hotel a lot cheaper than Gangnam, but just as accessible to main attractions. Highly recommended.

I have been to Macau before but this time wanted to stay near City of Dreams without paying too much so this was a good choice at ~ $150 / night and a 30-40 minute walk or 5 minute taxi to COD. The room was comfortable with adjustable air con, a large TV, big comfortable bed and free wired internet included(no wifi). The staff were very pleasant and professional. There are 2 Chinese restaurants in the hotel, one of them a 24 hour cafe style. The food was very good ; there is no western food there but no problem as I love Chinese food. There is an excellent market just around the corner where you can buy fresh fruit, snacks, canned food, deli food etc. Overall a very good stay and I will definitely stay there again.

This is the hotel I've got very mixed feelings about. On one hand - nice clean facilities in a good location with very friendly and professional staff. What else there is to want from hotel, right?
Well, how about being able actually get some rest there - this is where is falls very short. It's almost doesn't matter when I tried to sleep - day or night - there are always people coming and going outside my room, chatting really really loud... and it kept repeating, so I couldn't really get more than 3-4 hours of interrupted sleep. It applies to my whole stay (and I've stayed there 3 days).
Breakfast in adequate, although exactly the same every morning - nothing fancy, reasonably priced.
Another important thing to mention is they don't have wireless internet - only wired one - which may be and advantage (it's very stable and very fast) or a real curse (for example if you don't have LAN port in your MacBook, or want to use computer in your bed, etc.) - depending on how you look at it.
So here you have it - as for me, I'd give it 5 stars with very little hesitation, if only I could have slept better there.

Was in town for the UFC... got the hotel as it was a bit cheaper option. (not by much)
Only really used the hotel to sleep for the night, but was not happy to be woken up so early by staff having conversation. (I was located right next to the cleaning room) for a few hours in early morning all I could here is casual conversation.

Needless to say, wasn't best sleep.

A hotel away from the hustle and bustle

Hotel was rather easy to locate with most taxi drivers familiar with the Hotel. Shuttle busses are available every hour but will be towards the other side of the island. You may need to grab a taxi if you wish to head to the cotai strip area.

Slowest internet on planet earth

They claim to have internet - do not hook up on this. Internet speed is about 18KB. It takes 5 minutes for fecebook page to load. I called the manager and he explained that they only have one cable for the whole building - one cable for 23 floors!!! I would never ever stayed there if I knew this - despite everything else was quite OK I am extremely dissatisfied just due to the internet problem
