Hotel is nice and staff was great. Excellent water pressure in the shower! Close to old city and many attractions. The unfortunate part is that there are many pickpockets about and you must be constantly vigilant.

I spent 4 nights at Hotel Bilbi. Desk staff were helpful and informative and domestic staff superb. My room was basic but comfortable. Everything worked efficiently - TV, Wi-fi, shower, etc. The hotel is well situated close to Bilbao Old Town.

We booked the hotel as it was a budget choice and I had realistic expectations, the hotel lobby was really nice and modern looking ant the triple room we booked was nice and clean, the 3 members of staff we met were pleasant and also spoke great English, basically I’ve paid a lot more for a lot worse - Hotel Bilbi gets a 10 from me, a short walk down a hill with a great couple of bars on the way down, you’re in the old town within minutes.
My only MINOR issue was that walking there from the nearest bus station from the airport involves working through a sketchy area which worried me a little however once there we had no concerns

Hotel Bilbi is a serviceable option in Bilbao. The desk staff is friendly and has lots of recommendations. They have parking spots in a garage across the street. The rooms are not fancy, but they are clean and would work in most circumstances. We had a lovely view of Bilbao from our room on the 8th floor, and we were close to the old quarter. It worked for one night.

If you are visiting in summer, you should know that the air conditioning doesn't work well: you have to have your key in the wall to operate it, which means the room has been closed up without air all day and, thanks to the weak air stream into the room when turned on, it takes forever to cool it down. When we arrived, it was nearly 40 C outside and the room wasn't much cooler. Even after having the air conditioning on all night, our room was maybe 28 C. But this is only a consideration in a summer heat wave.

This was a great location for a 3 day stop in Bilbao. The staff were amazing. Our check in guy gave us great hints and information on where to go and where to eat. Parking was easy in covered parking across the road for €15 per day. Room on 8th floor was good with a covered balcony. Only issue was there was no fridge and the wi fi was very weak.

Good location and easy to walk to downtown! Some steep but short streets to get to the hotel. Room very clean and bed and pillow very comfy! Quiet and safe neighborhood!!
We rented a car and the hotel has spots (15€ a day) in a garage across the street!

Just a little gem, in the corner of great city. San Francisco St. has some awesome shops and cafes in and around Jatetxea Restaurant best veggie food in town (in a steakhouse!). Ok it's not a 5 star experience but for the price, this hotel and the location can't be beat.

The hotel was ok, close to the old town. The area was not so good or beautiful but for the price wasn’t too bad. The AC works great in the room. The rooms need to be updated but it was clean. The only issue was that we booked for 4 people and they gave us a room with 3 twin beds. My 8 years old kid had to sleep with me in a twin bed 😞

Nice hotel located close to the old town with nice bars and small restaurants. Short walk to the main river then another 15-20min walk to silver art gallery people go to. Parking in the area is chargeable during most of the day via meter.

For a 2 star hotel the facilities were fine. Room was a reasonable size with good air conditioning. Corridor to the room was a bit off putting with exposed services above. Breakfast was not available as there were no facilities at all for breakfast.

European Rugby Finals Weekend

The hotel is basic, but clean and was good value for the European Rugby finals, when everywhere else were charging crazy prices. The check in process was simple, and the staff extremely helpful with information about the local area, transport, places to visit, etc.
The hotel itself is not in the most desirable area of Bilbao, with what appears to be the local red light district on the doorstep, but if you walk just a couple of minutes and cross the river, you are into the old town which is far more pleasant, with lots of bars and restaurants.

Our stay was really nice. The front desk attendants were very helpful. They gave us directions to wherver we needed. The hotel room itself was clean and charming. The lights required us to insert the key so one person couldn't really leave with the key and leave the light for the others. That was a bit strange but not a big deal. The bathroom was clean too.

Funky little inexpensive hotel near Casco Viejo

The room was very small but it opened out onto a large balcony. The bathroom was tiny but everything worked well There's a weird green and black color scheme to the hallways but, otherwise, the hotel was comfortable and you certainly aren't paying for luxury. It was a 10 minute walk from the Casco Viejo and very convenient. The reception, particularly the day-guy, was exceptionally nice, personable and helpful.

I was a bit concerned about some of the reviews I had seen but I need not have worried. Although the surrounding area was somewhat rundown I always felt safe. The staff were all helpful and accommodating. The room was small but well appointed. The walls were a bit thin but earplugs solved that problem. I even had a nice balcony! The hotel does not do breakfast but there are cafes nearby which do at a very reasonable cost. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Old Town and all the sights such as the Guggenheim, and only 15 minutes on foot from where the airport bus stops in the city centre. The price was very reasonable. I'd happily go back

A very handy placed hotel.

Very close to the olde part of Bilbao, and thus the Mercado de Ribera. Also a pleasant riverside walk to the Guggenheim Museum, and many other interesting places. The Mercado is good for a pleasant drink in the evening.

Needs a facelift

I found my room to be expensive for what it was - and I had a deep discount! The room was terribly small. I had a veranda - and there wasn't even a single chair on it so I could sit and enjoy it! The TV didn't work, but OK no big deal. The neighborhood is a bit seedy, although I didn't have any troubles. Some hotel staff friendly and helpful, others less so.

Quiet hotel, close to historic city center.

This hotel was comfortable and very clean. What it lacked in amenities (no restaurant, tv didn't work) was more than made up for in its excellent, helpful staff and cleanliness. Every staff member was helpful and went above and beyond for their clients. They spoke excellent English which I had not encountered in Spain before, and were able to help me at a time when I needed it. I recommend this basic, comfortable hotel.

great place in heart of bilbao

hotel was nice. easy to walk to the city center from here, to see the guggenheim and the sights. the room was nice. it was pretty basic, but it worked. free wi-fi is always a bonus too. The parking is off street in a secure garage as well. it is a bit tricky to find at night if you get in late. and the neighborhood is a VERY active location at night. we didn't have problems with any locals, and the hotel staff said it was safe enough. just something to think about.

Just over the river from the old town - in what might be called a \"lively\" neighbourhood (it's a little seedy but then we all like people watching) the hotel was surpisngly good value for money - they've made a real effort with the paint job/decor...the bathroom was clean - everything worked fine. If you're not precious, this is great value for money.

Great Value, great location

Hotel Bilbi is a chocolate-coloured modern building in a multi-cultural part of Bilbao within 3 minutes walk of the river and old town. The price is very reasonable, reoom (not surprisingly for the price) quite small, and very clean. Flat screen TV, sizeable shower etc. Staff were very friendly and there is a large lobby area to relax. Corridors are painted all black with exposed service ducts, and strip lighting along the bottom edges - sounds awful but works well. I would highly recommend it.

not worth it at all...avoid it

i would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons:
found the evening clerk uninterested in dealing with our problem of a broken bed
very run-down
very ugly location, embarrassingly rude prostitutes nearby when you walk to the center (i am not a prude but it is too much when one grabs you and yells at you to buy her services)
late in getting us our room
absolutely no internet connection in the rooms
i know that bilbao can be an expensive city and i guess if this is the only low budget option then use it for a night..but i would have to be desperate before I go back...you leave with a bad impression of this city

We found the staff extremely helpful - knowledgeable, informative, thoughtful & professional; at first we thought the hotel was in a dubious location & the hotel is relatively close to an impoverished neighbourhood but in fact we saw no evidence of trouble or any threats / danger. Photo on website gives a false impression of the hotel as it is the Markethall depicted in the photo. The minimalist decor takes some getting used to but I will admit that it was clean, the staff were very helpful and the locations proximity to the old town was excellent. Having to run the gauntlet of the ladies of the red light district in the adjacent street at all times of the day was a little disconcerting and gave the impression of a seedy area of the city>

On arrival to the hotel, we drove down the road west, with working girls lining the street, the area didn’t look too promising. The Hotel was easy to find and the desk receptionist spoke some English. Booking in to our rooms, the decor in the corridor was odd to say the least, “Black” with floor lighting. The room was a reasonable size with a good toilet/shower room.
As we arrived on the first day of the Bilbao festival it was a short walk to the river and over to the old town to see the festivities. Walking through thick crowds we had difficulty finding a place to eat.

Hotel Bibli good find for the budget oriented

The only drawback of this hotel is that is has a run down hostel type feel to it. But all works great, bathroom is excellent and clean, hot water. AC works and it is quiet. Excellent service, staff is friendly and accommodating. Quiet at night.

Die goldenen Zeiten des Hotels sind leider schon paar Jahre her gewesen. Zimmer sehr hellhörig und der Zustand der Zimmer ist auch sehr mäßig.
Die Lage des Hotels ist ganz praktisch und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

The hotel had bed bugs. They had no more rooms available at 1 am and I had to send me to another hotel (late in the night) I barely slept and I had to wash my hair late in the night in the new hotel and I discovered some bites in my body of those bed bugs. Was a terrible experience
