Saved by the staff

Can't say enough about the staff, they were lovely without exception. The hotel feels a mix of styles and doesn't quite know what style it wants, old, new, 70's 80's. Comfort is ok but its the lack of attention to detail, particularly the cleaning, that lets it down. Some items were actually filthy in the room, water pressure was poor (in both rooms we had) and the upper floors near the car park suffered from passive smoke (and weed) smell as people smoked right below.

Revisiting a hotel

I have been staying at this hotel for about 2 decades and not for a few years. I used to take my mother to the restaurant when I visited her. I booked an economy room which I had not done before. Well it was not acceptable. I changed the room for an extra charge of course. Not sure how they could offer the other room. Pretty bad. So don't take the economy room. The other room was one in which I had stayed before and they basically were the same, So they need an upgrade. TV too small. No USB charging. The room was not clean. The bath was pretty good. I think the hotel needs an update. I like the location. I grew up nearby and enjoy waling in the woods. So I might stay again but might look around.

My wife and I visited Amsterdam over the Easter weekend, but we weren't convinced by any Amsterdam hotel, so we decided to book a hotel in Utrecht and take the train from there (cheap, fast and every few minutes). Entirely by accident, I've booked this hotel which isn't even in Utrecht, but at about 8 miles (15km) away. It's a gem! Clean, quiet with a million amenities and options, super safe parking (even for a motorcycle) and easy access to the motorway. I'm sure we'll go again sometimes.

Very good for the price

I was very impressed with the hotel, considering the low cost of rooms. Location wise it was not perfect with nothing much within walking distance, but by car it was equally between two destinations I was visiting.
The breakfast buffet was a little lacking in variety considering the relatively high price, and hence I took this on only one of my two nights.
I think they made a charge for extra coffee pods (if required), which does not seem to be a good point. Having arrived late in the evening, I removed the coffee from sight, so as I made sure I did not run out. This would be a consideration if two people were sharing the room
Two single beds, but no serious option to put a space between them. Also, the mattress had a tendency to slide away from the base.
I would stay again, but under similar conditions - as a base to explore and not a destination in itself.

Excellent First Experience with Fletcher Hotels

Very comfortable overnight stay. Lots of facilities and clearly a well-established tradition of pleasing guests.

Excellent value. I was impressed enough to ask for a book of the Fletcher Hotels. I hope success will not price this lovely hotel out of reason anytime soon.

It will be a good fall-back when hotels closer to my work are full. Clean, quiet, on the edge of a national park, good parking, teakettle (no coffee!), hairdryer, the rooms in my corridor ran off a sort of indoor lounge area, where people were also parking their bikes.

Lovely location in a quiet area

Used this hotel a number of times over the years as I worked in the area. Can’t recommend it enough. Rooms are somewhat basic but staff are very helpful and restaurant is fantastic. The area is very tranquil in the middle of a wood. Plenty of parking if your driving.

It could have been so good...

The bed was to small and soft.There was foreign hair in the zink in the bathroom when we arrived. The nightguard was taking a long time to answer when we came home from the wedding we were at.
Breakfast was not includet in the price.It normally allways is.Its a cheap way to sell the rooms.Sorrounding = good.Atmosphere= good

Nice hotel and plenty of parking. You are not allowed to bring in your own food. The bathroom was a nice size, but remember to shut the venizian blinds because the window faces an indoor walkway. The restroom on the other hand was very tiny and not suited for people with mobility issues.

Fijn hotel.

Fijn hotel, beetje gedateerd, maar goed onderhouden en netjes. Ruime kamer, alles heerlijk schoon en een toilet apart van de badkamer (ook best handig soms). Enige \"nadeel\", we hadden 2 losse bedden en geen 2-persoons bed. Klimaatregeling is wel een ding, kamer had, volgens mij, geen airco. Nu natuurlijk geen probleem, maar bij 30 graden? Personeel altijd vriendelijk en behulpzaam, zeker een aanrader.

De accommodatie is -althans voor zover te beoordelen op basis van de kamer- echt wel verouderd en gedateerd. De kamer is ongezellig ingericht, 's avonds niet sfeervol te verlichten (te fel brandende lampen met hard wit licht), dat geldt helemaal voor de badkamer die de sfeer heeft van de operatiekamer van een ziekenhuis (drie hele felle en hard witte lampen), witte kranen uit de jaren 70, een douche met zo'n goedkoop bouwmarkt schuifdeurtje, een toilet met het goedkoopste grijze toiletpapier, de bedden staan min of meer los of glijden uit elkaar. Verder is het hotel een doolhof van gangen die slecht zijn bewegwijzerd. Wel heel mooi zijn de welness en zwembad in de kelder...alleen het zwembad wordt 's middags gebruikt voor zwemles en is dan gesloten voor de hotelgasten...dit staat niet op de website (!) en de sauna's zijn uit en koud...kunnen op verzoek via de receptie aangezet worden..maar voordat die dan warm zijn... wel prima gegeten in de brasserie die een poging doet om gezellig te zijn. Zeker vermeldenswaard: de kamers zijn schoon en het personeel is allervriendelijkst. Het is hier zoals in wel meer Fletscher hotels: Een sfeer van chique maar gedateerd er wordt onvoldoende geïnvesteerd om het echt een vier sterren te doen zijn. Er zijn betere opties in de omgeving.

Basis Hotel voor een overnachting. Alles wat je nodig hebt, maar geen luxe (bijv mini handdoeken) . We kregen ongevraagd en onaangekondigd een kamer voor mindervaliden omdat anderen die niet wilden
Dat kan men aan de receptie even vertellen.
Werd de volgende avond goedgemaakt omdat een medewerkster ons twee glazen wijn op de kamer bracht toen de bar al dicht was.

Eigentlich ein schönes Hotel mit Schwimmbad, guten Parkmöglichkeiten, gutem Frühstück, sehr nettem Personal. Aber, die Einrichtung in den Zimmern ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Möbel sind alt, es gibt noch einen eingebauten Radio in den Möbeln, der nicht mehr funktioniert, die Schränke haben kaum Anlagemöglichkeiten, die Betten Rollen gerne mal auseinander. Daher nur 3 Sterne. Wir waren einmal abends essen. Das Essen ist recht teuer und hat uns jetzt nicht so gut geschmeckt. Aber die ist ja immer subjektiv.

Fijn verblijf gehad!

We hebben 3 nachten een Comfortkamer gehad met airco, een twinbed en een terras. Een heerlijke ruime kamer met een apart toilet en badkamer.
Het enige minpuntje was dat ons terras pal uitkeek op een steiger. We hebben er dan ook niet gezeten. Dat was jammer.
Verder niets dan lof voor het zeer vriendelijke personeel. Het eten in het restaurant is lekker maar niet goedkoop.

De accomodatie zelf en het ontbijt wat ik had bijgeboekt vond ik geen vier sterren hotel helaas. Wel netjes, maar erg verouderd. Maar het personeel is fantastisch: vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ik had een paar klachten en ze hebben er alles aan gedaan om dat goed te maken. Superlief.
