My seat was very good, the staff were exceptional, made me feel welcome and ever so helpful.
My only question is why it does not provide information in English for non Dutch speakers. It was not so easy to navigate or use service available. That said the hotel was excellent.

Will stay there again

We have stayed at the hotel 3 times now, twice with our dog and once with our baby. It's a great location close to the motorway, quiet, relaxing and for our dog it was a short drive to a nice park. Will be staying there again in the future.

The hotel is far away from everything. If you stay here then you have to eat all meals here. Taxi 35-40 euro each trip to the city Center. At the end it costed me a lot more than the nicer hotel in the Center.
Our heater was broken and we suffered a freezing cold night that made us all having a cold the next day.
They changed us to another room after we complained as 4 nights without heat would be impossible, but we think that the manager should offer a drink or something to make a nice gesture .
A part from that the staff were nice though.

Our compliments on the atmosphere and great food in the restaurant, the professionalism and friendliness of the staff and the fact that even travellers with dietary requirements are offered a wide and varied breakfast.

A stay for nature fans

Our family room had a beautiful view over the woods, we could even see cows. I enjoyed going out for a run or a walk, we were there to visit family in De Bilt but I wouldn't recommend the hotel for people who want to be in a central location or more in town. It's perfect for nature lovers though. Utrecht is very close, a 10-20 minutes bus ride. Good heating in the room and it looked very new. The mattresses were comfortable but moving: and the quality of the bed bases was not the best. The breakfast should be included in the price, especially given that their pool is out of service, the rooms are expensive for the location. The building itself looked cheap (ugly stairs, lift, you feel like in a hostel) the restaurant was cozy and quite classy, with good service. We only had drinks there.

Very convenient location. Rooms were comfortable and well supplied. Excellent breakfast the best I've experienced on this entire trip which included three hotels in France. The dining room could use a bit of a broader menu and the staff should understand how to make cocktails particularly a martini

Conveniently located full service hotel. A welcoming staff with easy check in process. A very reasonably priced full breakfast buffet including an omelette station. The restaurant oiffers a complete menu that was more than satisfactory.

The hotel is quite nice, near a highway. We can hear the cars passing by although all the surroundings are very charming. You can walk to this nice paths and there's a nice site seeing around.

GREAT PLACE TO LAY YOUR DENTURES

Decent stay, they said it was \"pet friendly\" but did not have any accommodations. If you have a pet rock and need a place to travel with it, this may be the spot for you as they prefer you to be silent during your stay.

Breakfast was overpriced and incredibly basic. The environment was boarderline senior citizen housing and no where near a 4 star rating as the reviews state.

The bathroom was nice at least.

Great hotel. Good vibe as soon as you arrive and extremely comfortable nice big rooms. Staff bent over backwards to welcome and especially over Easter weekend when the hotel was packed, the weather outside was wonderful and they were stuck inside working. The attitude and hospitality towards guests was outstanding. Thank you for a terrific stay, I will only ever pick this hotel when visiting Utrecht.

Nothing particularly wrong, but strange place

The hotel is ok, but the rooms felt very dated. The bathroom appeared newer and was clean and nice, but the main room felt not that great. Overall there was this cleaning smell lingering that reminded us of a hospital, which was not the best first impression. The hotel is very big and we couldn't quite get its appeal. We picked it as a stopover and because it is opposite a big park - which was lovely. The other area around it didn't win us over either, so next time we'll stay in Utrecht.

One Night In Utrecht.

Arrived in evening after long day in city, pleased to see set out of town in the country side.
great welcome by staff, good news upgraded us.Hotel in separate building from reception resteraunt area and outside eating etc.
Great Room, Quiet,all facilities ,All you could ask for Great pool area and seating giant Chess etc unfortunately Swimming pool was being serviced..
As long day and not wanting to go back to city centre, went for Hotel meal.
Outside dining in glorious weather Drinks came quickly as we sat down at table at 7pm.Busy but some empty tables so not full. 45 minutes for waiter to bring menue and got another drink.30 minutes later asked if someone could take order 9 pm got Starter .Great food and filling ,so should have cancelled main course whih arrived at about 9 40. the waiter gave us some extra sides as we had been waiting for so long,and most apologetic. I noticed other also waiting for a long time.every one has an off day but there was no explanation and let a very good hotel down.

The building, walking from the reception to the rooms looks terribly dated but getting to the room is a pleasant surprise. Very clean, nice design, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom and the in room coffee is great. We slept great and woke refreshed. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Room #1 reeked of smoke. Room #2 was an upgrade but reeked of a really strange and strong odor in the bathroom that made my daughter vomit upon entrance. After staff unsuccessfully tried to “treat” it, about an hour after we checked in, room #3 was nice and comfortable. We were compensated with free breakfasts, which was only fair, but there has to be quality assurances in place when housekeeping walks out of a room to be ready for a guest. Staff was very helpful and kind throughout drama. They spoke excellent English. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel was very convenient. Parking free. WiFi functional. Did not use pool but looked good and nice feature.

Stayed here 2 yrs ago. Was remembered and given a free room upgrade :)

Everything is good. If there were any improvements - sauna and fitness room perhaps? Also - the pillows were not to my liking. Too thick and a bit lumpy.

What’s not to like?

We were very happy with this hotel when got stranded in Utrecht unexpectedly. When we arrived less than 10 minutes after booking online, they already had our room ready with the extra bed. van der Valk is known for quality and great breakfast. The breakfast is $14 per person extra. Staff is extremely helpful, helped us figuring out public transportation and helped getting a taxi. Very easy to get to Utrecht city center by bus from here.

Good hotel

One night stay, the hotel which is situated in a quiet location gives good value for money. Pleasant staff and good standard of accommodation.
We had dinner and breakfast and both were of good quality.
Some of the rooms are a bit of a hike to get to and whilst we were there new building work was taking place.
Only negative was that parking was difficult due to insufficient spaces.

Handy hotel outside centre

A big comfortable hotel a bit outside the ring road with lots of parking, a quick road (and buses) into the centre/museum districts with a nice good-sized pool. There is a very big restaurant which we did not try. Breakfast expensive so we skipped it and went to a cafe in town. Reception is a long way from the rooms (in restaurant building) so a bit of a trek if your case does not have good wheels!

Excellent hotel convenient for Utrecht

This hotel was originally just a restaurant which had an excellent reputation. It is still excellent after the addition of the hotel and conference suite.

We had a deluxe room for 4 nights. Could not fault it - very comfortable bed and, rarely for a continental hotel, it had a kettle for your early morning tea.

They do have a pool but sadly not a fitness room.

We booked accommodation only. As the hotel is a bit isolated try to get a deal on breakfast. At Eur 14 per person, it will swell the bill!

Hotel very conveniently situated for visiting Utrecht and has an excellent & frequent bus service close by. Hotel is in a rural setting and although it is close to a busy main road this aspect did not detract from our enjoyable stay. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel has an air of quality about it. I would definitely stay there again.

Stay at a Van Der Valk property

We chose this hotel as a central location, 1-1 1/2 hour drive in each direction to visit my family. It's located within walking distance to de Bilt for shopping, banking, and other needs. Hotel offered bike rentals, so we could ride around the beautiful area and into Utrecht.

Proximity to noisy highway was a disappointment; the wooded view from our balcony was an unexpected treat. Room service was prepared and delivered quickly, albeit our expectations of Dutch cuisine were further reduced. Breakfast was okay, but the distance one had to walk to enter the dining room is worth mentioning.

Stayed here for two nights on work. A nice hotel out of the centre of Utrecht, but very friendly staff and a comfortable room.

Had food both nights I stayed there and have to say it was very good food for a reasonable price. Breakfast was also very good in the mornings.

The room was large and comfortable with a nice patio area looking out over roads and fields. The area the hotel is set in is very nice, just off the main road but with some nice fields and tree areas around.

If you want to be in the middle of the city this isn't the hotel for you, if you want a nice quiet hotel with good food this is the place to stay.

A pleasant surprise. Lots of value for your money.

We have lived 21 years very close to this hotel but never stayed there overnight for obvious reasons. Nothing better tan at home! However we now moved house and had to bridge one night. Did not want to spend a lot and the reputation of this hotel was not bad. Actually it surpassed all of our expectations. Room, breakfast and the friendly service are making this a strong recommendation for business or leisure.

Good hotel, lovely spacious room

We booked this hotel as a last resort - we wanted to rent a holiday apartment in the city centre but absolutely everything was booked. This hotel seemed to be the only one within a couple of miles with rooms so I wasn't really expecting much. When we arrived we had a pleasant surprise.

We hired a car from the airport and there's free parking at the hotel. Staff on reception greeted us warmly, our room was lovely - very spacious - and the bathroom was really good with a shower, a big bath and plenty of toiletries. There were tea/coffee making facilities too. The bed was very comfortable - I haven't had such a good night's sleep for a long time.

We hired bikes from the hotel for 8 euro a day and it took about 20 mins by bike into the centre. The route is all on cycle paths and very easy to find.
We didn't eat in the hotel but there are two restaurants and others a short walk away. We also didn't use the pool but we did have a look at it. It's not massive but it's perfectly good.

I would give this five out of five except for the fact that a couple of the staff weren't quite so friendly as others.

I enjoyed stayin at this hotel.
I didn't have any food here but it seemed to be very busy and looked a lovely restaurant.
Ive only a couple of things i would say that when i first arrived i wasn't given any information on breakfast.
It didn't tell me until i read it in my room.
Also one night I asked for an extra key which I was then told to come back half an hour later as it was only the admin staff that could get this for me.

Gefallen hat uns die kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit, der freundliche Hotelempfang und die ruhige aber dennoch gut angebundene Lage des Hotels.

Nicht so gut waren in unserem Zimmer die unsauberen Laken/ Matratzen und die minimal vermackte Einrichtung/ leicht abgenutzte Türschwelle zum Bad. Das Empfangspersonal war jedoch sehr offen für Kritik und gelobte Besserung.

Insgesamt würden wir zwar wieder kommen, sind aber etwas enttäuscht von den Betten.
