Couple exploring the Netherlands

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this friendly, clean hotel. Service was brilliant. Fantastic breakfast. The walk along the canal into the center of Utrecht took about 30 mins. We found a lovely cafe on the way. Could not fault our stay at all. Thank you 😊

A little off the beaten path, but this what makes it so appealing. Bicycle friendly, and quiet hotel for those seek these qualities. Just for those who care, it is a basic hotel room. You won’t find clock radios, bar fridge or irons in your room. I don’t need those things so it was perfect. Super friendly staff and great breakfasts. When I come back to Utrecht, this will be the hotel I choose again.

However there seemed to be a great deal of confusion when it came to how much to actually charge me for tourist tax, parking, and service fees…which was a little annoying. Also we ordered food from the red to our room. The staff said that they could, and would bring it to our room. When the order was ready they called for us to go and get it. Also refused to give us utensils to eat with…

You cant go wrong with IBIS! We have stayed in them around the world and you cant beat the price, fabulous & professional staff, clean facilities, and very efficiently laid out rooms. Highly recommend staying here in Utrecht, quiet area, easy to get around with public transportation, and wish we had been more aware that there was hotel bikes! Missed opportunity on our part.

Great hotel; fabulous staff!

The hotel is fabulous, really clean, beautiful location, comfortable and the shower was actually hot and powerful! What sets this hotel apart is the staff, though, they are all truly wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.
They sell everything you could need in the reception too, so if you are forgetful like we were on this trip, you don’t need to worry!

The room is excellent in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The staff is friendly. The hotel does seem to cater to a business/conference audience, not tourists. The place is in a residential neighbourhood about 2 km from the train station and old town. It can be a tough walk if you have some luggage bags. There are 2-3 neighbourhood restaurants and a supermarket about 10 minutes of walking away and that's pretty much it in the immediate area. A small shopping mall with a few grocery stores and fast food joints are about 20 minutes of walking away.

The hotel was very nice and a breakfast was optional. I did not partake but many others did. Probably because not much else, if anything was around in walking distance. What set this hotel apart from other stays on my trip was the staff. Every one was friendly and helpful. Check in with Rene was a breeze. Jessie went above and beyond to help me find information that was easier to obtain by speaking Dutch, which I don't. My gratitude to her and all the others. I would stay again but a car is helpful.

Another pleasant stay at Ibis Utrecht

Stayed here about 4 or 5 times as use it as a base for Moto gp at Assen. Train links to Assen are good and Utrecht town is nice. Rooms are a bit basic but functional for our needs. Breakfast is only average especially for €15 euros. Needs to be slightly more hot food choice

Typical Ibis in Utrecht

Overall it was a good stay for 3 days. The hotel provides a typical Ibis comfort plus a free parking. It is located at about 30-35 minutes walk to the old city, most of which is along one of the canals. We did not take a breakfast since at 15 Euro/person it is overpriced. There is a convenience store near the hotel. The price for a taxi from the central train station is about 10 Euro and not 16 Euro as written in one of the earlier reports.

It's an Ibis so you know what your getting, a clean room with not a lot of storage, small bathroom. The bed was comfortable but the pillows are to narrow. I only stayed one night but would stay again no problem.

Good bar, I didn't eat in the restaurant. Check in was OK although having to pay the extra in city tax is a pain, just makes everything take that much longer.

Breakfast was good although nothing special, good to see the scrambled egg was cooked and not mush.

The only negative is that it's a good walk into town if you want to go out. I got a taxi both ways (11 euro) as it was freezing out!

Everything was great - you have to be prepared to take a bus or walk to the activities or restaurants but the restaurant at the hotel had delicious food - just don’t want to always eat there. The hotel really could use coffee station in room though - that would have been perfect!

We spent two nights at the Ibis in Utrecht. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but a very comfortable bed and a great shower! The hotel itself is located approximately 2 kilometres from the centre. The location was quiet as was the hotel. The hotel also offered a car park which was important to us as we were travelling by car with bikes. We walked into the centre from the hotel which took about 45 minutes but it is a lovely walk and the centre of Utrecht is well worth a visit from both a shopping and sight seeing perspective. We didn't dine at the hotel, preferring to dine out (you will be spoilt for choice) in the town but we enjoyed a good breakfast both mornings. There was a reasonable choice of different foods for breakfast offered (I particularly enjoyed the lovely rolls). We would certainly be happy to stay there again should we find ourselves going to Utrecht.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights here. The rooms were a bit on the small side – reminiscent of the Ibis Salon de Provence. But modern, clean and fresh. The hotel boasted a good bar and restaurant. The breakfast was great! The historic old city of Utrecht was close enough to walk (about 2 km). A great city to visit, and this is a great place to stay while doing so.

This is a very nice, clean hotel a short distance from the central station. You can walk this distance in 15-20 min, or take the tram 2 stops.

The room wasn't huge, just big enough for the 2 twin beds. However, there was a closet provided, the room was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff were polite and professional.

Breakfast was provided for a fee, but we didn't try it.

The internet worked well. I tested the bandwidth and found approx 4MBit both upsteam and down. No surprises.

Overall, a perfect spot to spend the night, clean, safe and reasonably priced.

The location was pretty ok, with a direct bus going straight to the city centre and the hotel is located about 15 mins away from the airport. The bed was extremely comortable and overall it was a fantastic stay!

Standard IBIS low cost fare - room was small but clean. The bed had a very thin, uncomfortable mattress. Located handily for the exhibition centre but a good 20 minute walk into Utrecht. Breakfast was a buffet - cold stuff was fine but the hot items were awful - grey eggs, mechanical recovered sausages and very little else. Coffee was good! Hotel lift was awful - took ages every time and there's only one. I used the stairs instead.

The hotel was a little further out of town than I would have liked, and the hallways need a revamp. However the room itself was clean and comfortable, I slept really well! The rooms are quite close together so I guess when it is a full house or you have a noisy group in the stay might be a little less accomodating. Hotel staff were great, called me a cab a few times, no problem and were pleasant to chat to.

The hotel is in an ideal position just off the motoway and very easy to find.
The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Prices were reasonable for drinks and food. Only down side they did not do evening meals, plus side there is a wonderful restaurant just down the road.
I would definitely stay again.

I arrived late into Utrecht Central station, and the hotel is a 20 minute walk away along the bank of a canal. Check in was smooth and the room was easy to find. I found the room quite small but it was, what I consider to be, a typical IBIS hotel, functional but basic. I was only staying for one night so it was fine for my purposes, I don't think I would have stayed here if I'd have been on a longer visit as I like my hotels to be 4*.

Great service from check in to Check out. Only had breakfasts but they were plentiful and fresh. The rooms are clean and the staff helpful. Shower was good and in general the stay was excellent. I frequently travel to the Netherlands and will use this hotel again. handily located beside a bus stop which has a 15 minute service to the city Centre which takes about 10 minutes.

Just what you expect from an Ibis

The hotel was generally really well maintained and spotlessly clean. The rooms were perhaps a little small, but this is really a minor point, as they were big enough to sleep in, and really, what else do you need a hotel for? The beds were reasonably comfortable and the hotel itself was really nice and quiet. Rooms have a reasonably good noise seal, as, even with roudy customers coming and going, the noise in the room was pretty minimal. The service was amazing. Staff members walked with me to the local bus stop when I couldn't find it on my own, and were only too happy to come pick me up again on the way back. Definitely a hotel to recommend if you're disabled and travelling alone. I can't comment on the food as the hotel only serves breakfast, and I didn't have that. It would be nice to have dinner in the evenings, but it's only a 10 minute bus journey from the centre of Utrecht anyway, so not too far to go for some food. All in all, the hotel is typical of what you would expect from an Ibis. It's clean, it's comfy and staff are great. Highly recommended.

Good Modern Budget Hotel

We liked the hotel overall, it is modern and basic but comfortable and clean. The only downside really is that the hotel is a little way from the centre, we stayed in a group for a long weekend and it rained from arriving to departure, almost solidly. We did walk to the centre once and it took about 20 minutes along the canals, but the rest of the time we had to get a taxi (10 Euros each way). Overall it was good value and I would stay there again, but be mindful of the weather when considering the distance to the old town.

Average Hotel, No Comforts, Restaurant Food Good. The hotel is basic and minimalist, if your looking for comfort and a few extras book else where. The hotel is located in a residential area on the outskirts of town. I have stayed in far better, for far less and would not recommend this hotel for the reasons above.

stayed for 3 nights. room was typical ibis. compact but clean with comfortable bed/pillows.
quiet part of utrecht and bus just outside hotel will take you into central train station for 2.60 euros in 10-15 mins.
car park free with ample space, ate in one night and food was thoroughly acceptable.
one thing to say - new flyover built about 150 yards from the hotel a few months ago and this caused havoc with the GPS and took us a good half hour to find the hotel in what would easily have taken 5 minutes. don't go over the flyover but go under it and then turn left into pijperlaan.

Although the hotel is a few kilometres out of the city centre, there is a direct bus route that only takes 10 minutes. The hotel itself is clean, nicely laid out and has friendly staff.

A good value hotel close to the motorway network, comfortable rooms and friendly (English-speaking) staff. Free parking and free internet in the reception were bonuses too. The breakfast was included with my deal; there seemed to be the same hot option every day (scrambled eggs and sausages), but there are plenty of other things on offer.

Great option for the budget traveller, friendly staff and clean, basic rooms - free wifi too! It's about 15 mins from the central station and about another 5-10 mins further to town. If you walk along Leidseweg by the canal, past the royal mint, it's very peaceful and picturesque but watch out for the bicycles!

Clean, but just avoid breakfast

Overall, a clean room and good wi-fi. The problem was the breakfast - 14 Euros extra. When we arrived at the breakfast room, all of the tables had leftover dishes still on them and had not been wiped. Strangely enough, there was a member of staff visible but was not cleaning these away. Most of the hot food had gone by 8am and whilst we were there, this was not replaced. Some of the other food looked 'off'.

Bed OK but some better pillows would make it a lot more comfortable.
Good WiFi in rooms.
Staff friendly and helpful. Its quite a long walk to the city centre, about 45 mins, but quite pleasant, about half the route is alongside the canal.
The hotel looks quite scruffy from outside and was difficult to negotiate into the car park because there were major road works outside.
