Small room, no extras like fridge and no water cooker. There was a bigger gathering place on the first floor but without fridge or water cooker or coffee maker. Quite sad.
We were asked to take down the bed sheets and covers.

Great location but gets really loud on the weekends in the plaza it faces - tourists/students partying in the streets till 4am so make sure you take a pair of the free earplugs they hand out. Close to the canals the tower and a 10 minute walk to the station - everything you need. Front desk staff really nice and welcoming. The connecting 5th restaurant is a decent (if overpriced) spot.

Walked in and noticed windows did not open. We went out to have something to eat. When we came back in our room we had to go downstairs to talk to front desk saying there was absolutely INSUFFICIENT AIRFLOW IN ROOM maintaining basic quality and promoting a healthy living environment. Seemed air exchanger located near ceiling was not working. Staff went downstairs to get us a cheap tripod fan which was very VERY noisy. How smart !! WILL NEVER NEVER BOOK AGAIN WITH STAYOKAY ! NEXT TIME, WE WILL CHECK ROOM BEFORE PAYING STATEMENT BECAUSE THERE IS NO DISCLOSER ON STAYOKAY'S WEBSITE SAYING WINDOWS DO NOT OPEN. ALSO VERY UNSAFE IN CASE OF FIRE ! WHAT A SHAME !

Good value/location for the Netherlands

Considering the prices of hotels/hostels in Utrecht and its location, its a pretty good deal. The rooms are barebone but clean and spacious enough (as far as the private ones go). I would stay there again, but keep in mind its no frills!

We had the six bed room with private bathroom. While spacious, the room was freezing with cold air blowing on us in the middle of winter. There were two showers but one was not useable because of the smell.

Enjoyable stay, uneven room temperature

This was a good value overnight stay for central Utrecht, and great to have the private bathroom facilities. The room only has floor radiator that you can control, but I found it would only heat the side of the room nearest to it and not the rest of the room towards the bathroom. It wasn't a terrible issue, but a little irritating to be so cold everytime you walked to and from the bathroom.

Aside from that, there was a great view to the square from my room (#105) and a nice lounge area in the common space outside the room to work from or relax.

Very pleased with this property. We decided to try a hostel for one night during our trip to let our kids see a hostel. We were so pleasantly surprised by this hostel. We did pay for upgrades like linen service and towels and Kate check out. Worth it to us. It was nicer than all our much more expensive hotels in three cities in Belgium. The location was fantastic. The service was great. We loved the little restaurant and bar connected to it and used their games. We would all stay here again.

Great stay here at stayokay hostel.
Place is situated on a lovely square with restaurants and sit down bars, great for summer months to have a drink or two outside.
Booked a private room which was clean and basic.
Shower room was a decent size and had a powerful shower.
On site bar was cosy and had areas where you could just relax, with a separate area where you could work (laptops etc).
Close to main streets and canals.
Checking in and out was easy.
Only issue was, that the windows we had in our room (sizeable) couldnt be opened, also no ventilation either.
Great view but due to temperatures outside reaching 30°c, this made it some what stuffy in the night when trying to sleep, not unbearable but also not so comfortable either.

It is perfect for young people. The place was full of teenagers, or people below 25 or even less! It isn't quiet because of that. They were partying :). So for adults, only to stay one night or so. The location is terrific!

Great location ! We had a room overlooking the main square which was great for people watching. Only an 8 minute walk to the train station. Loved that they had laundry facilities on site. Room was good but shower had no curtain so the water kind of went every where. Great stay and would stay again if ever in Utrecht!

We had a lovely stay. It was lots of fun, the staff were all really friendly and had great service. Food was delicious. We had lots stolen from us in the luggage room so be careful lots of people have access and there are no security cameras. Security in our rooms was great though. Excellent facilities and great location.

I liked the location of the property and the layout of the room. I disliked that the room wasn’t properly cleaned. When I was making my bed chocolate and a coin fell from the side of the mattress and there was also a sticky stain near one of the bunk beds. At one of the top bunk beds we found a dirty sock when we wanted to make the bed. This could have all been avoided if the domestics would do their work with love. The check in staff were extremely friendly and engaging :)

The stay was good, very friendly staff. The room was good, my only problem was that you cannot open any windows so the air was a bit stale during the heatwave we were having. Loved that you can hire a bike at the hostel. Would gladly stay there again but the price is a bit steep for a hostel room.

Overall a great place - must bring towels though

This was a fun hostel to stay at! A fantastic location in Utrecht - exactly where we wanted to be. The service was good, and the hostel had plenty of amenities.
Our one downside was that I didn't know we would need to bring our own towels. No towels in the room, not even hand towels. So no showers. Luckily we were only there for one night.
Overall I would stay again.

Stayed here several times for short business trips during the week. Because it’s convenient to the train stations and close to other big cities, without paying the premium prices. Nice and quiet, but still be able to meet new people, nice communal area and clean.

Very friendly staff, nice location, comfortable place to stay, with decent breakfast. The high speed wifi is excellent for work. I was just unlucky to share a room with a rather unhygienic person, leaving a pile of empty pizza boxes and other F&B packaging in the room and dirty (smelly) clothes on the floor.

OK at the Okay

We stayed at the Stayokay as a base for two nights in Utrecht to see a music gig at the nearby Tivoli. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. The facility in the room are spartan, but it is a hostel so we didn't expect anything else. Having said that the room was spotless, the bathroom was of a good standard. I would advise to buy a padlock so you can store away valuables in the provided lockers. You can get a breakfast for €6.50. To be honest, the breakfast wasn't very exciting, a tad overpriced for what you got. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. Checking in was seamless. The location was excellent, near the Utecht's centre. The room is good value, and the next time I am in Utrecht I will definitely stay at the Okay.

A great stay right in the heart of Utrecht

The hostel has a very good location, right in the central of Utrecht, pretty much walking distance from the train station and all attractions, and right in the middle of hangout places too, so very convenient to get around. The rooms and surroundings was well maintained and clean, also the cafe at 1st floor by the reception was very nice and convenient. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Utrecht

Okay with Stayokay!!

Very nice hostel. Central location. Only 10 minutes walk from the train station. Great interior. Nice and very kind staff. Good bar/restaurant area and reasonably priced. Very clean and tidy. However, a little bit noisy at weekend being near bars and clubs etc...Plus, no communal kitchen, which most other normal hostels have. So, can't cook own food. Overall though, a very nice experience and would highly recommend. Also, security is very good with just own level key card system. So it stops intruders from outside or other levels entering level which you are staying at. A great value for money hostel/hotel.

The Hipster Hostel

Definitely the most hipster hotel I've ever experienced. I wouldn't recommend for everyone, but if you enjoy quirky, non-traditional hotels, this was great. In particular, they went out of their way to make sure there was lunch I could eat on Sunday - Sunday is Pizza day, which is less than grand for someone with a gluten/dairy allergy. But they found something else for me, which was excellent, and all was right with the world.

Stayed as part of a bike tour. The place is hip and buzzing, breakfast was great. I could park my bike in a monitored bicycle station overnight. All in all very positive. Feels new still.

The best part of this hotel is the location which just excellent. It is within walking distance from the Dom and the train station and has all kind of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc. all around it. Would definitely book it again.

The staff members are super nice and friendly.
The location is not far away from the central station, within walking distance.
The room is clean and the bathroom and toilet as well, with instant hot water.
The mattress is soft therefore I really enjoyed my stay there.

However, there may be drunk people talking out on the street at night at the weekend. But that's nothing the hostel can do about it. People need quiet place to sleep have to think about it.

The place is brand new. The rooms are clean, and quite comfortable. The only issue is that each bed does not have its own light, so at night this can be a problem.
The lobby is fantastic, and serves as breakfast area. The breakfast is included, it is a buffet style, and there is a fair selection of good food, and drinks.
The Internet service is first class! Working in the lobby on your computer is a joy, and there is bar, that also server hot drinks like coffee, tea, and great hot chocolate.

De kamer lijkt wel gevangenis.. geen daglicht - kan geen raam open dus vies benauwd op de kamer. Moet zelf je bed op maken geen beker of glas om slokje water te drinken en Handschoenen moet je ook nog apart halen en af rekenen.. 3x3.50..!? waarvan ook nog 1 kapot is !!! Ontbijt 9.50.. blauwe gekookte eieren.. vuil bestek en borden. En weinig keuze! Kortom voor 300 euro voor 1 nacht mag je wel meer verwachten. Wij gaan hier nooit meer heen. Maar locatie aan de Neude is wel super.

We hadden een 2 persoons kamer met eigen douche. Alles schoon en netjes, personeel is vriendelijk.
Ook het ontbijt was goed.
Middenin de stad, waar cafés, restaurantjes, winkels en bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand zijn.
Superverblijf gehad!
Enige minpuntje was dat ze het dak aan het verbouwen waren en de stortkoker bij ons raam was, maar dit is tijdelijk.

ユトレヒトへ行くならここがお勧め

ドイツからユトレヒトへ行く列車が遅れていてチェックインが夜の11時頃になってしまうことをこのサイトのバーチャルアシスタントや人による助けを借りてホテルに連絡をしてもらいました。チェックインはとてもスムーズに行われレセプションは人が遅い時間でもいるから大丈夫ですよと言ってもらい安心しました。この日はミュンヘンからの列車移動で最後の列車が遅れてしまい精神的にとても疲れていましたが、コーヒーを入れて下さったりクッキーも付けてくれたりして人としての優しさに包まれました。その間にも連泊をしたいという人がいたり、自分のベットに知らない人が寝てる等色々な人に遭遇しましたが、いずれもにこやかに尚且迅速に行動していて気持ちの良い仕事ぶりに見ていた私もニコニコして眺めていました。駅から10分とちょっと遠い気がしましたが、通り道に橋と川が花で飾られていたりとついでに観光まで出来た気がしました。最初はホテルを探しながらなので遠いのですが帰りに駅ヘ行く時は簡単な道で5分くらいにしか感じませんでした。
そうそう、ミッフィーの可愛い信号機を通りますよ♥

This hostel is the perfect place for a weekend in Utrecht. We were 2 friend with 3 kids under 4 years old and the personnel was extremely kind to us. The structure is well equipped to host kids, they have high chairs for breakfast and also baby cots upon request. Cannot recommend enough.

Stayokay Utrecht is part hostel with bunk beds, and part hotel with very basic rooms. Staff is nice and helpful. It is very centrally located on a busy square. Very noisy during the night if your room faces the square. They give free earplugs at the reception.

The hotel is in a very nice area of Utrecht.
My room was nice (private room) but not very clean. The glasses and bottles of the previous tenants were still on the windowsill.

The worth was the all night party in the hallway in front of the rooms. I understand that this is a hostel but in other hostels there are rules and night hours.

Basic room, nice atmosphere

I booked a double room with individual bathroom. It was basic but good enough. I was worried by possible noise and it was not the case, it was a good stay. Nice atmosphere at the lobby place and good service.

Blijft een heerlijk onderkomen, goede bedden, lekkere douche, heerlijk ontbijtje.. dit was de 3de keer, met een gezin is het gewoon betaalbaar, wij zijn erg tevreden en de kids vinden het super..
