This isn’t 4star hotel. The bathroom is too narrow and the window isn’t double glazed so you can hear all outside noise to your room. I stayed 5nights at the hotel and couldn’t sleep nicely even one single night

Refurb required.

Main benefit is the location of the hotel, close to central station, shopping malls and restaurants. The hotel is outdated and needs a major refurb. The rooms is big, very dim as no main lights as only wall lights. Not very cosy or comfortable.

Incredible and kind front desk. I stayed there a week and they took excellent care of me. Over and beyond care. I will always remember the Leonardo Utrecht front desk staff.
Great location, easy to walk to the train station and into the University.
Gorgeous room with wonderful window light and view of the tower.

Leonardo staff was friendly and willing to help. I addressed a concern I had prior to arriving and I was pleased to find out it was resolved and I received an upgrade. Professional and friendly young staff. The hotel is located in the perfect location. It's about 7 minutes away from Utrecht Centraal and if you cut through Hoog Katherijn Mall it might be five. I love how easy it was to walk around the city center, reach the restaurants, museums, Dom Tower, and more. I felt safe to walk around the vibrant city(day and night) filled with many young students and other visitors. My complain: I had no AC but fans, however it was fine because the weather in the Netherlands is pretty comfortable. Breakfast was very good and you have tea and the cappuccino/expresso machine available in the Eating area all day as well as the expresso maker and tea pot in the room. Ah, bring your own blower if you want to style your hair. Most hotels blowers are in dire need of an upgrade. Traveling single? Perfect place to be and feel safe at all time. I recommend this hotel in Utrecht. Bedankt!

Good location and abt 100m to the Hoog Catherine shopping centre car park. Hotel gives a discount to bring cost to E27.50 for 24 hrs. Breakfast was quite good and organised with different options. Room was a good size although showing age with narrow shower over a bath and tiny sink.
Had a problem w car park. Email confirmed a car park the day before that the hotel no longer used. Had to move the car but cost us E4.50 for nothing. Bed was quite hard and pillows lumpy. Room overlooked a noisy intersection and balcony was more like a ledge. Utrecht is expensive for hotels and parking. Oudegracht canal is the main draw but water looked murky and hardly flowed. We loved Leiden more.

You get a lift from reception down to the basement then along a corridor to another lift that takes you to your floor. Second lift not working wasn’t told no offer of help to busy trying to sell breakfast.
As a base it met our needs but deffo overpriced in my opinion

Good for one night. Our room smelled like smoke. Staff gave us an air freshener but smoke smell was embedded into the room. Pictures make this place look better than it is. Great location for traveling by train and walking around the heart of the city.

The staff were really good at Leonardo Hotel Utrecht. There was a problem with the TV in my room, for which someone came up promptly and fixed it. Also the online check OUT service (leaving room key in room) is something I have not seen in other hotels, and is a really good service.

Clean & Tidy Not Priority

Greeting was pleasant. On entry to the room it was cold and the radiator had not been put on. We moved the beds apart to find a used earbud and a questionable stain. I reported to the hotel on night 1, they advised it would be resolved in day two. It was not until day three that housekeeping cleaned the room, appalling delay in basic room maintenance. When leaving, we noticed that the duvet had dark brown stains, utterly disgusting and concerning given we hadn’t notice till check out. Staff apologised but did not seem to have genuine care given the poor quality of cleanliness at this hotel. I would not recommend attending this hotel!

A warm welcome but when we got to our room it was freezing, thought we might have to sleep in the corridor, Also the TV did not work and only one light worked. However, we told reception and they allocated us another, better room, with a much nicer view of the street rather than..(I don't know what we were looking at before). Comfy bed, but the room was quite noisy (rowdy tourists?)

Good location but scruffy and overpriced

The hotel is in a very convenient location, very close to the train station and in the centre of the city. The downside to this is that it is very noisy all day and night. It was quite hot during my stay and the room was very warm and stuffy - no AC and no fans but also too noisy to open the window.
The room provided all the ammenities you need and the towels and bedding etc were very clean but everything was very scruffy and looked like it had been years since any painting or refurbishments had been done. Breakfast was simple with a limited choice. The service is very much, ask for what you need. If you ask, you get, if you don't ask, you don't get.

Average cleanliness. Walls are paperthin, which means you hear the street outside, and all neighboors whether they live beside you or above. Cleaners is trying to break the world record in early/loud cleaning. Definitely not your place to stay if you want to sleep in.

This was a great home-base for our short stay in Utrecht. It’s close to the train station (pro tip: you can cut through the mall instead of walking all the way around the block!), and we had the most amazing meal ever at SMAAK, which is conveniently situated in the alleyway directly behind the hotel. There’s a Starbucks right next door and a grocery store nearby, and it’s within walking distance of the canal district with all its shops and restaurants, and there’s a bike rental shop close by as well. The room itself was clean and they had washcloths in the bathroom (the only hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to the Netherlands who offered them), and the front desk was happy to hold our luggage for us on our arrival and departure days when we had some additional exploring to do. In addition, the breakfast was top-notch. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a one-night business stay in the Leonardo. I've stayed in Leonardo hotels before, and they've been fine - but this was disappointing. There was no air con in the room, the room was small and bland (no pictures, drab furniture). The bed was comfortable enough, the staff were helpful, and everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was OK and adequate, rather than amazing. Overall it was fine - but just...meh... I'd have expected a bit more glitz and glamour for the price. For not much more, my colleague was in a much better hotel round the corner....

The hotel is very close to the railway station, this provides a good access to Amsterdam airport. Many shops, restaurants, bars in the area. The hotel might soon need to have some refurbishment and is also is need of checking how the infrastructure works. For example, in my room it was very difficult to open the warm water tap in the shower...

Overall, I liked it, but it wasn't in the best condition. The window in my room was hard to close all the way. The shower head moved up and down, but would not stay up without some MacGyvering. There was one lamp that I couldn't turn off without unplugging it or removing the bulb.

Stayed because connecting flight got cancelled. Hotel was ok, quite old looking furniture, stsyed at basement with no view at all. Soneone was making a lot of noise and banging in the doors at 3 or 4 AM. Quite scary actually. Don't think will stay here again

Great location, right in the shopping area and close to the bars and restaurants. We had a room at the back which was fine, with a view of Dom Tower in the distance, however, rooms on the front with a balcony are at a busy junction, so not sure how quiet they would be.
According to a leaflet in the room, it's due to be refurbished in the next year which it needs - everything worked and was clean, but just feels a bit dated.
TV was good, with access to YouTube and Netflix and nice to get a couple of bottles of water and chocolate bars in the room.

The hotel has signs explaining that it is about to be refurbished, so the scruffy, neglected and rather ugly parts of the building will presumably soon look different. But for my stay, this was unattractive and over priced.

I've stayed here twice now and the second time was definitely the better room, but maybe since the first time they've all been refurbished.
The location of the hotel is unbeatable; right in the city centre close to everything. There's also a station on the 2nd floor where you can get free tea, coffee and water 24/7 and even to take away. Why pay coffee shop prices when it's free to take from the hotel? The staff were friendly when we checked in and held our bags when we checked out for a few hours.
Now onto the bad thing. We got given room 517 which at first looked great. Right at the top and only 2 rooms which I thought would be nice and isolated and quiet. Wrong! Our room was right next to the top of the elevator shaft and every single time the lift moved floors there was a loud noise. Especially at the weekends when people are up all night it was very hard to sleep. As the hotel was full there were no other rooms. I come to Utrecht every year and I will stay here again, but will request a room away from the elevator. Also, ask for a room at the back of the hotel. The view over the city is great!

The hotel was close to the train station and a shopping mall. It was almost in the middle of a shopping district, so you can find whatever you want. Breakfast was expensive and we did not have it at the hotel. There is a coffe shop just across the hotel and it worked for us perfect. The room and the bathroom were warm for winter, which we liked a lot. The staff was extremely friendly. The room was clean. The bed was not much comfortable but I should say that I have not been to a hotel with comfortable beds. The room was big enough and we truely enjoyed our stay.

Best deal in town!

Our stay at the Apollo Hotel Utrecht City Centre was about as good as it gets. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out it was a pleasant stay. We chose it for the location and because we had an equally positive experience at another Apollo Hotel the previous year in Amsterdam. The location was perfect, a short walk to the train, plenty of restaurants and bars, and the Tivoli Vredenburg, which we were going to see a couple of concerts at. The staff was friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were super comfy, free coffee and hot cocoa 24/7, and we even had a balcony. All this for an extremely reasonable price. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting Utrecht (or even Amsterdam, which is a 35 minute train ride away).
