Beware the stairs!

It was a half hour walk from the train station, which we used to familiarize ourselves with the area. Could have very easily taken a bus, as there is a stop close to the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd level, but due to the set up of the hallways and rooms, we got lost trying to find ours, despite the desk clerk’s instructions. The stairs were very treacherous- narrow steps and spiral-like at the top and bottom, so would not recommend if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage. The bed was two singles put together, which is somewhat normal, but if you like snuggling your partner, it simply won’t work as you’ll slowly fall through the middle. It was not how I wanted to spend the last night of our vacation :( No frills at all (as stated in the ad)- the room only supplied liquid soap for showing and hand washing. The room key was very clunky to carry around The room isn’t insulated very well and took a long time to warm up with the radiator. Tiny closet size bathroom.

Beds too small. Blankets too small. Hardly can wrap yourself with them. Squicky wooden floors. Not much noise insulation. Pretty much hear everything from next door. Pathway not at all lit up. A big NO.

Staff very friendly but the rooms are incredibly small. I had to leave the bathroom door open just to use the sink. I booked through Expedia the rate was $72 USD when we arrived at the hotel said they had the confirmation but I had to pay their website price of 85 euro or $94 USD that's a complete bait and switch and pretty sure illegal - not sure if it's an Expedia issue or the hotel but it needs to be addressed and guests need to be aware. No amenities in the room, coffee available downstairs for 1 euro, which is fine but not for a hotel of this caliber. I'd expect to pay that but only in a hotel where my room was stocked with soap, shampoo, and water.

The hotel is near services and is in a quiet walkable area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fully adequate. Our room was on the first floor, up a steep, narrow flight of stairs. No elevator.

Basic but pleasant. Good for the price!

The hotel is a basic but pleasant space. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only major complaint was the warmth of the room as it was a warm few days and the one window did not provide sufficient cooling in the early evening though it cooled off overnight. A fan would help. The staff were helpful and polite. I only used the bus once but it stops very close to the hotel and makes commuting to the city center and rail station quite simple. Would stay again.

Good location with transport a few minutes away. Easy walk into town centre. Quiet & safe area. Hotel is clean & typical of of those in the region ie no lift and plenty of stairs (beware -steep & winding if you have mobility issues). Breakfast was simple but adequate to start the day. The room was clean, bright & ventilated. Quite comfy for the few nights I stayed.

A very basic hotel with basic facilities. Rooms were clean enough. Bathroom small and basic. If you have luggage other than carry on request a room on lower levels unless you are fit and strong as the stairs up to levels 2 and 3 are extremely shallow and steep. In fact my partner fell down the stairs. Breakfast is very basic and exactly the same every day. Considering the price of other hotels in Utrecht this one is more affordable and if you don’t mind a good walk you can get to the centre of town or there are plenty of buses.

Lovely Utrecht Hotel

A quiet, peaceful hotel 1km away from the city centre which can be reached on foot, hire a bike at the hotel or catch a bus - only €2.80. The breakfast was typically Dutch, plenty of bread rolls, croissants, cheese and meat. The breakfast area was clean, tidy and nicely appointed.
My single room was small but very comfortable with a neat en-suite bathroom. There was a nice view of the canal and gardens from my light and airy room.
The area is quiet but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area as well as theatres, galleries and museums.
All in all a great base for your trip to Utrecht. Thoroughly recommended.

Boutique hotel exceeded our expectations

I booked here because I was visiting University College of Utrecht and this was one of the few hotels anywhere near the school that had a last minute vacancy. Utrecht is a city of 350,000 people but depending on where you are, there aren't a lot of hotels and if you book last minute like I did, there are even fewer choices.

In a nutshell, this boutique hotel was a very pleasant experience. We arrived extremely late and we woke the hotel owner. We had to planned to leave very early the next morning but opted to stay a few hours later. We got up and opted for the breakfast at the hotel, which was only 7 Euro each. It was a very complete continental breakfast and well worth what we paid (Netherlands isn't what I would call cheap.).

Our room was small but had two twin beds: I didn't complain because we booked last minute and that was all that was left. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The bedding was comfortable and also very clean. As expected, the bathroom was small but it contained a toilet, sink, and shower. Two towels and a floor mat were provided. There were plenty of outlets for your electrical needs and a European power adapter was available if needed.

This hotel was clean and in a good location. It even has bicycles to rent. The owner, who appeared to be doing everything, was always very pleasant. I would recommend it and would stay there again. Only one issue some folks may have: there are 2 flights of stairs, which are narrow and steep.

Quiet hotel with good access to public transport

I enjoyed my stay: the room was basic, but comfortably and clean. Staff was helpful, it was easy to get into town and there were restaurants nearby. The rooms are located in the building next to reception and the breakfast room. Internet access was a problem: it didn't work for most of the evening, which was a problem because I needed to work. Otherwise I enjoyed staying there.

Stayed for 2 nights. Had very bad sleep. Any one walks in the corridor or takes stairs you would know. Better have your ear plugs with you.

Good in summer, bad in winter

Hotel was small in a quite neighbourhood, but with cold and humid room with drafting windows (it is also a cheap one). Probably in the summer this is not a problem, but in winter this is a challenge and could make you easy catch a cold. Otherwise breakfast was great (food and room) and the neighbourhood also (public transport just above the corner and some good restaurants really close).

Expectations met, I would stay there again.

The hotel covers the basics nicely and met our needs for a safe, clean room with some charm throw in--the exterior of the building and the canal view from the breakfast room. The nearby café was popular with locals and, like the hotel, offered good value for the money. We were able to walk to the Het Spoorwegmuseum from the hotel. I would stay there again.

Disappointing accomodation

Got to hotel late in evening and given room \"next door\" up a steep flight of stairs which I had to negotiate with suitcase.Had to go out in rain to go next door for breakfast.
Small cell like room, depressing,window held with a piece of wire. No tea maker. Thin inadequate towels. Had to ask to be moved. More acceptable but same thin worn out towels.
Considering price paid ( on arrival) this was not value for money.
Do not think of this place if you want a pleasant room to retire to after a day of business.
Might be okay for a backpacker but not at this money!

Nice hotel just close enough to main town square

Stayed here 3 nights to visit my daughter attending to UCU. Overall this is a very nice & comfortable hotel (B&B like) with simple amenities. Great place to stay if one wants a simple, clean room. Single room is small, but it is full of character and comfort, though bathroom/shower would be uncomfortable for large people. Breakfast was also nice on the ground floor overseeing the garden and the canal that is a nice characteristic of Utrecht. This hotel offers daily bike rentals (E10), which i took advantage of. Bikes are of good quality and are safe.

We loved the hotel and the area it is in. It is in a good quiet location where you can do everything by foot or rent a bike for the day. I am very happy with our accommodation. I think for many the rooms may be small but we were happy with it.

Loved this place! Balcony, Breakfast, & Bikes!

Cute building and very basic room but it was nice, clean and had comfortable beds. Loved having a private balcony that looked out on the street at the bikes whizzing by. Breakfast was included and it was better than expected. Also, unlimited coffee all day! There's an espresso machine in the lobby for guests. We rented bikes from the hotel for 10 euros for the day. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was very small which wouldn't have been a problem per se, but one of the beds was squeezed next to the shower room door and the duvet made it difficult to open the door. I nearly couldn't get out again when using the loo at night. The shower room was also a squeeze and it was impossible to shower without flooding the room. An adjustable shower head would have been useful too.breakfast was very nice and the view into the garden was lovely. However, we had to clear one of the window tables ourselves as throughout the entire breakfast no member of staff ever entered the room to either restock or clear any tables. The location was OK. i would recommend using a bus into town when with luggage. Very cheap and quick to do.

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night. The arrangement of the rooms and the hotel was a bit odd, but overall the room was very clean and comfortable for two people. The hotel is also comparatively inexpensive for the quality of the room. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel & value for money.

We were disappointed to have a room on the 2nd floor even though we had booked several weeks ahead. This necessitated taking two lots of stairs as well as carting our suitcases up the two flights. The second time around though we had a nice room on the first floor and we were quite pleased with this room as it looked out on the little stream at the back. The breakfast is quite nice and good value for money.

The hotel is nice, but the location is pretty far from the city centre. The bedroom was small, the bathroom was tiny, and they did not provide much in the way of soaps etc. The bed was pretty hard. However, the service was great and friendly, everything was clean. I expected more for the price. They had free tea and coffee available, which was good.

Kamers waren goed en schoon. Douche kon beter hier was vaste douchekopje bevestigd en een douchegordijn wat naar je toetrekt wanneer je staat te douchen.

Hotel is slecht toegangkeluk voor mensen met een beperking m.b.t.knieen, heupen.
Stijle trappen en geen lift.

Ontbijt vanaf 7.30 uur mensen die vroeg moeten beginnen kunnen niet ontbijten en koffie kost een euro.

Nooit geweten dat ik mijn geboortestad de afgelopen week, zelfs nog er een verlenging aangeplakt. In Hotel Oorsprongpark doorgebracht hebt.
Een prima hotel, centraal gelegen. Vriendelijke receptie en medewerkers. Uitstekend ontbijt. Een aanrader. Een perfekt hotel om Utrecht City te bezoeken. En dat in de stad \"Utreg\" waar ik geboren ben. Perfekto. J. Engels. Inmiddels woonachtig in Spanje. Maar gewoon aan het werk.

Ligging is perfect. De vriendelijkheid van de incheck is perfect.
Niet goed: de vele trappen voor een aantal kamers en het feit, dat het hotel in feite uit twee gebouwen bestaat. De kamers zijn redelijk basic voor € 65,- Euro excl. ontbijt.

Leuk hotel, vriendelijk personeel. De trappen naar de etages waren, met een 23 kg koffer, wel een dingetje. Ze zij redelijk steil en smal, dus dat vereiste wel de nodige spierkracht. Nog een tip: voorzie de kamers van \"Niet storen\" of \"Geen schoonmaak\" bordjes om aan de deur te hangen. Maar verder oké!

A nice budget hotel. Had everything I needed. Personnel very friendly. The room was clean; I found some hair in the sink when I arrived, but for me it is not a big deal. The room was on level -1, clearly a converted cellar, with a big window giving on the back garden with sculptures and apple trees and a canal with boats and birds. You can also have breakfast with a view on the garden. The room is tiny and you had to cross the shower on your way to the toilet, but there was everything needed. A big plus: I could rent a bicycle at the front desk, a great local transportation option.

Hôtel Oorsprongpark chambre côté canal

Très bon hôtel, proximité avec le centre-ville d'Utrecht à pied (environ 20 min) ou en bus. Proximité avec des restaurants et supermarchés.
Le quartier est calme. C'est très reposant.
Les chambres sont propres., tout comme l'hôtel. La connexion Internet marche très bien.
Je recommande l'hôtel.

Slidt hotel med stejle trapper

Gammelt, slidt hotel med meget stejle trapper som er blevet kosmetisk opfrisket. Ingen elevator. Sengene var smalle og bruseren havde så god spredning at det var svært at blive våd. Venligt personale og mulighed for at leje cykler. Hotellet ligger 30 minutters gang fra Utrecht Centraal. Der kører busser til døren.

Angenehmes, kleines Hotel in netter Umgebung und nah zur Innenstadt von Utrecht.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend, der Platz am offenen Gartenfenster zum Kanal toll.

Goed hotel vooral als je alleen reist

Heel netjes ontvangen, de kamer was netjes en schoon. Alles is er wat je mag verwachten. De douche is een beetje aan de krappe kant maar gaat toch prima. Er is snel veel warm water. Het is niet gehorig en het ontbijt is goed geregeld. Er is 24 uur per dag gratis koffie

Inchecken ging vlot. Eenpersoonskamer, niet heel groot maar groot genoeg en verder netjes. Bed was zacht maar goed om op te slapen. Trappen kraken en kamers vrij gehorig. Geen gebruik gemaakt van ontbijt dus kan ik niet beoordelen. Gratis koffie en thee de hele dag door, verder prima hotel.
