We liked the staff, Petra upon check in was kind and offered my daughter who is staying in Utrecht for 6months help if needed; lots of the other staff were also very willing to provide information about the city and popular places for night-life in Utrecht. The incentive of the free drink vouchers for choosing to \"be green\" was very pleasant as well.
The only complaint that we had was that the swimming pool temperature was a little bit on the cooler side. Overall excellent experience!!

Beautiful stay in Utrecht

We had an amazing staying with my boyfriend at the Hotel Mitland. The room was clean. We enjoyend the balcony. Aound the hotel there's a lot of things to do and the center is nor far at all. You can rend a bike directly at the hotel and visit around.

Great hotel

This is a great find. Beautiful old building with high ceilings but very much suits modern tastes inside. Quality rooms, parking and short 5 minutes walk into the picturesque town square. Hotel was immaculate and included breakfast was excellent with egg and bacon if you wanted it.

Lovely hotel 30 min walk from centre of Utrecht. Very polite and helpful staff. The pool looked inviting but I hadnt swim gear with me. The gym is very basic and too small and too hot. Bar area was lovely. Traffic from the busy road can be heard in the mornings if youre not used to such noise.

Extra charge for an iron which should be a standard room facility, exorbitant cost for tap water of €7, very expensive and limited food and a general feeling of squeezing every cent form the customer. Poor experience overall ! Hotel is tired and dated in need of a refurb.

The property was clean and the staff were attentive and friendly.
My partner was doing a course at the University, so the location was good for that. The Uni was only15 minutes drive away.
What we didn't like about our stay was that there's nothing around the hotel. There's a park and a canal and busy road system. That's it.
The town centre is 20 to 30 minutes walk away, which we did walk, there and back every day for dinner, because the hotel restaurant's menu is a bit limited. We did eat there once, which was okay, but we didn't want to it again.
We also didn't like the building. It looks like an office block. Our room was quite large, but also quite basic. All painted white, so quite bleak. Not warm and cosy at all. And that was an upgraded room, which basically meant we were overlooking the canal, rather than the car park.
My partner was at her course on the day we left, so I asked if I could have a late check out, which they said I could, for a charge of 42 Euros. I've never been charged for a late check out before.
The town of Utrecht is a great place. Plenty of bars and restaurant's to choose from and very historic. We did a walking tour one evening, which we enjoyed.
We just wished, we stayed in the town centre and not on the outskirts.

While the property is clean, the location is very inconvenient. There was nothing nearby and public transportation was lacking. The staff were not very friendly. During check-in, one staff threw my card and passport back at me. Since she treated other white visitors nicely, I feel it was racially motivated.

Great hotel if you dont mind the noise!

Great quiet area, good clean hotel. My only issue is the rooms had no noise buffers.. so basically i can hear the two adjacent rooms and the one direcrly on the upper floor. Oh and expect house cleaning knocking and walking in the room even with the \"Do not disturb\" sign on the door. Overall, it is family friendly and I loved the lake view rooms..
but for future not for me

Great Customer Service

This was not my first stay at The Mitland nor will it be my last as I highly regard the level of service provided.

I have Parkinson's Disease and thus sometimes require a little help and tolerance when using my scootmobile on the hotel premises.

The staff are great and help however they can whether it be holding a door open or delivering things from the kitchen / bar for me.

This is excellent customer service - nobody could ask for more

A really nice hotel

A fabulous hotel with really great amenities and great staff. The best bit is the \"parking available\" is free and plentiful. We'd late lunch after a long trip and it was dire. The city centre is around 20 minutes walk, the bus is 10, so don't bother and enjoy the walk. My wife said the shower in our room was probably the best and most powerful shower she'd ever had. We didn't use the pool etc but it looked lovely. Our lunch by the lake in the sun was a lovely setting.

Overall lovely hotel. Room, lobby and bar area were all clean and modern. Room and bathroom were a decent size, spotless and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quick and well stocked. The view from the restaurant is beautiful and peaceful. Our room was ground floor and backed onto the car park so was a little noisy when cars left early in the morning. The only small disappointment was the tea tray in the room. Paper cups, creamer instead of milk and a limited selection of tea was disappointing for a four star hotel.

It is just 20min walk from the city centre via a very enjoyable route, while at the same time with your car you are very well connected to the main motorways A27 and A28 and A2 around Utrecht. So, it is an ideal hotel when you're driving t Utrecht but would prefer not to drive into the city. Other than that, the restaurant is fine, the breakfast buffet is very good and I personally really like the seating / bar area. It is open and spacious and great for meeting friends and business partners.

We have stayed several times at the Mitland always taking the superior lake view rooms. Very nice view from the back of the hotel over the lake. Service from staff in all departments is excellent and we will return again.

We had a large comfortable triple room in a nice setting.in building C (two buildings of the hotel look like some kind of former institution which gives a slightly odd ambience). Breakfast was good. We had an issue with poor room cleaning one day (it was fixed after we contained). Also corridors are echoey and door banging very loud. We ate in the restaurant which was fine, some bar staff are not very friendly. We also tried other restaurants within walking distance. The pool is good.

Although it is located about 30 minutes walk from city center, the hotel have free shuttles so it wasn’t an issue.
The hotel itself have all you need: nice indoor pool with wet and dry saunas to relax, nice hotel restaurant/bar and comfortable room with lake view.

We stayed here as we were passing through. The hotel we found pretty good as a general rule. It had plenty of things to do on the grounds, a pool, sauna, bars, bowling alley and more. The set out itself gave me more of a sporting complex accommodation than a hotel. The rooms were comfortable and easily above standard. The service for the most was good, with that one that just didn’t want to be of any help at all. The local area if your looking for quite is great, but if your looking for old town it’s just that little bit too far for a quick stroll but still walkable. I have mixed feelings about our stay here but in all fairness most of it I will say it was more not what we were looking for than anything bad on the hotels part. We would have no problem staying here again but I think we will head more into the old town for us next time.

Nice hotel but located a ways from city center and the train station. Hotel was clean with larger rooms. The hotel is a bit isolated and we did not see any obvious dining options within walking distance...as such taxis wherever we needed to go. I do not have any specific complaints with the hotel but in the future I would stay at a more central hotel location.

air conditioning was not working well, slow to cool off and shut off in middle of night leaving us tossing and turning with the heat, we did not know it was off, just thought it was not cooling, awakened from bad sleep to check it and saw it had turned off. Also beware their breakfast is one of the highest of hotels we have been too. almost 20 euros, we did not want a buffet, too much food and price. they said we can order from a menu and then when we tried the next morning told us the menu was not available and could only give us coffee. as we were traveling that put us the day with no food.

The hotel is really great. Great views on a large pint with geese and some grass with sheep. Bring your swimsuit. They also have a bowling alley on the property. It’s expensive but it’s available :)

Funky suite that kind of felt like a cross between an antique shop and super high tech bathroom fixtures. Unfortunately the fixtures didn't function properly, despite looking cool. Overall the property feels a bit like a Holiday Inn. Bowling alley adjacent, mediocre breakfast, infrequent shuttle service to central Utrecht, generally disinterested staff who told us what we wanted to hear, but didn't follow through.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. It’s an incredibly beautiful location. Don’t be put off by its dull concrete exterior the rooms are really Lovely. The bathroom was fantastic. I created my own revitalising spa experience there with the aid of Luah bath products. I had a great stay. They only carry gluten free bread but gladly grilled me some bacon separately so it wasn’t contaminated with gluten.

Adequate for a business traveler. The positives: all basic needs are covered; the breakfast is very good; clean; freshly renovated bathroom. If you need a rubber duckling to play when in a bathtub, there is a rubber duckling there. The negative: if you rely on public transportation for arrival/departure/commuting, it may be a 10-min walk to the bus stop. Having said all this, it is not very clear to me why the hotel is 4-stars. Probably, because there are meeting rooms, a swimming pool and a fitness center on the premises. Other than that, the amenities and supplies are no-frills Spartan. I felt myself as in a real 4-star hotel only when having breakfast (and, maybe, when I had a first glance at the bathroom).
