However, the rooms are really dated The single glazed windows did not seal properly and cold wind and noise were coming through. The bathroom was really small and the tab faulty.

Clean room in a good location. We struggled to lock the window & it was noisey from the tube line & planes flying into Heathrow over head. Nice to have tea & coffee making facilities & a hair dryer in the room. For the price it ticked all the boxes.

This property is in a great location; walking distance from the train.
We arrived slightly early , the room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our luggage which was a positive.

However, the accommodation is basic, the beds in our room are due for renewal. The noise from the rail line starts very early and is very sleep disturbing.

Had booked an ensuite room for 3 nights Only stayed 1night. As itwas not an ensuite room. That was just the start. The bedroom door faced the front door which was left open at one point. You had to come out the bedroom to access the bathroom which had no external lock so was accessable to everyone. The bathroom window had no handle and was taped shut. There was an electric cable running along the floor which went into the wall for the electric socket,not sure this is acceptable in a commercial property as potential danger. Also lots of cardboard boxes stored in hall/stairwell definite fire hazard as this was the only way out in case of fire. No fire instructions were displayed either. In the room the drawers were damaged and one of the blinds was torn and stained,plus was so thin it was useless. Most of these things had been reported last year when we checked social media. We did not feel safe and hardly slept so left after 1 night. We did not get what we booked and paid for.

The gentleman who met me to show me to my room was friendly and chatty.
The room was a short walk from Kew, the local area had good amenities, both of these things were essential to the visit.
The bathroom was clean, tidy, had the option to shower or bath, plenty of hot water in the morning!
The bed, bedding, pillows were comfortable, fresh and provided a good nights sleep, the room itself needed some work as there were water marks on the wall, wall paper peeling below the window, the blinds provided no privacy, one blind was broken so I didnt touch it for fear it fall off the wall.
The fixes to the room are cheap, simple and quick to sort, once completed it would make a stay there very good 😊

Went on holiday for a couple weeks in the UK. This was my favorite room that I rented due to the kind owner and the amenities. The room had a Microwave & Refrigerator/freezer, which is something that all of the other hotel rooms I rented lacked. The neighborhood was nice and it was pleasant able to walk to the grocery store, restaurants, train station and Kew Gardens/Palace. I felt safe walking around even when it started to get dark. The room was very affordable too in comparison to the nearby hotel. Very pleasant experience! Highly Recommended!

Didn’t even open our cases and couldn’t wait to get out of there. The bathroom was moldy and smelt really really bad. There was wallpaper peeling off the wall shabby mattress and broken heaters. The room felt unloved and grotty. We were met by the owner who gave us no welcome or even any eye contact. The whole place felt like it was there to make as much money with as little effort as possible. We were looking forward to having a nice place to stay but it was a massive overpriced disappointment.

The room was clean, beds comfortable however, no soundproofing and window blinds not closing fully. Additional curtains may have blocked out some of the sound from the passing trains. Handle hanging off bathroom door and loose toilet seat. No evidence of fire escape. No bedside lamps .as no bedside tables.To say there was parking was wrong. One space ! Most parking in the area was permit only so again misleading

We were very disappointed to find the room dirty and damaged. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and ended up staying one. We were refused a refund and couldn’t reach agreement that the standard of the room was not good enough. When I said the chairs were dirty and the sink had mould we were told it was probably just someone had spilled their coffee and the sink was just the seal that was dirty. The cupboard door in the kitchen was broken off and the kitchen drawer was missing. There was grime? on the wall that was supposed to be the bed head. Very frustrating because the rooms could have been great - location is amazing and the room would have been fine if it was clean. Do not recommend. The photos don’t reflect our experience.

The location was excellent in that it was close to Kew Gardens and the Kew Gardens Station was a 5 minute walk,however what the online information didnt mention was that the railway liine was literslly 12 feet from the rear of the accomadation,so from about 6 am the passing trains noise was every 5 minutes.Yet that was surpassed by the noise coming from the above accommodation, as the walls and floors were so thin,that there appeared to be a herd of elephants up there.
The room was booked for 4,but only 3 of us stayed luckily,as if we used the fourth fold out bed,there would have been about 2 foot of floorspace left.
The room itself was a bit grubby and dusty with a smell of drains,and cat urine from the adjacent yard.There were no windows only a front and back door,so it was hot at night when we obviously had to shut the doors.There were several maintenence issues :shower mounting and door broken,bathroom tiles cracked,kitchen sink tap loose,and although the shower was ok,the hot water to the bathroom and kitchen sinks was lukewarm.It was most definately overpriced,and we wouldnt stay here again.

Rang the doorbell when we arrived, no answer and not much sign of movement (it was a ring doorbell), so called the mobile number on the door and had someone answer with 'yes I am on my way up '.
Didn't put my clothes in the wardrobe as it was very wobbly to the point that the door didn't close. The entrance hall to the property looked grubby and uninviting.
The positives were that the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee making facilities. This property could have been so much better with a bit of TLC.

Had an excellent stay at Kew Studios and Rooms. The hotel was easy to find. close to the Kew Gardens metro station, and the staff were attentive and able to direct me to my room quickly and efficiently. The room was a good size and had a comfortable bed, a television, kettle with tea and coffee, and heaters that weren't required. The washroom next door was spacious and quite clean, the shower worked well. All in all excellent value for money and I would definitiely stay there again..

Tried to contact the owners for 24 hours by land line phone, 3 mobile phone numbers, email, text and expedia messaging, no response before checkin. One mobile phone number didn’t connect and the others went to voicemail. Left several messages but no one replied. had no idea if anyone was going to be there to let us in.

Unusually for me i hadn't checked the reviews beforehand. Wish i had.

It was convenient for Kew gardens but that’s all i can say.

It’s not a hotel, it’s a house with sparsely furnished rooms and paper thin walls and a very cheap mattress. Amenities include: loud arguing, neighbours, the strong smell of marijuana and the police being called on other guests. It’s cheap for good reason. Never again.

It was very convenient for my purpose in the area of going to the nearby cemetery to visit. The Richmond area is also known to me and it is very pleasant to stay in that area near the river Thames and visit historical places. The bus stop was outside the property and Kew Gardens underground very near. There was a good selection of restaurants, coffee places and shops by Kew Gardens Station and also in Sandycombe Road where the property is situated. The negative side was that the underground trains travel at the back of the studio where I was staying. It disturbed my sleep the first night but not the second as my brain obviously had become accustomed to the background noise. I would stay again here. The host was polite and welcoming and so was the cleaner.

Unfortunately when I stayed there was refurbishment going on so the kerb appeal was not great. I booked a double room and got upgraded to a studio which was a pleasant but welcome surprise. The studio was clean but lacked attention to detail with maintenance, for example light bulbs not working, bathroom door badly fitting, shower head holder broken.
Guests need to be aware that the train line runs very close to the back of the studios with trains running frequently between 6am - midnight.
All in all, the studio was adequate for my weekend stay

Room 3 very small, bed not particularly comfortable only one pillow each, shower gel and hand wash, coffee and tea facility and a fan, also a hair dryer, very basic and the kerb appeal needs attention, the hall way narrow and dead flowers in vases, floor needed a mop but ideal for some where to get your head down after Kew Gardens music!

Friendly welcome. Great location for visiting Kew Gardens for evening concert. Felt save walking back. Comfortable and clean beds (for us anyway as quite soft) Train line behind which we didn’t mind. Work being done on the hotel so quite dusty but as only there for one night we didn’t mind and the price was good. Once work is complete should be a lot better and not so messy around the side.

This place has some wonderful aspects. The first is that you will never have to wonder if you have missed your underground train. That's because it isn't underground and is actually running about 20 yards behind your back window! That means you never have to worry if you have missed it because you will be able to see it and hear it! This will continue up till 2:30 at night when you can happily say,\" I didn't want to be on that train anyway!\"
And if you are the person with, do it yourself capacity, you will be intrigued by the numerous possibilities of improvements in the room. You can be happily employed thinking about how you could actually fix the bathroom door so that it actually stays shut! Or how to repair the broken flooring that has been covered up cleverly by an armchair?
So that's the good stuff. They not so good stuff is that the room is very small so that it's hard to be in the room with an open suitcase anywhere except on the bed. That of course makes sleeping difficult! Also, the people who rent the room say that it is set up for self-catering. However, there are only two saucepans and absolutely no kitchen utensils. That means that if you actually want to cut something you have to bring your own knife or use one of the butter knives that is duller than Queen Camellia.
This place is absolutely not worth it. The money and should be avoided at all costs unless rain prevents you from sleeping on the park bench.

This is an affordable place to stay in a cute neighborhood with friendly hosts. The free onsite parking, however, turned out to be street parking a block away. Also, despite my messages and phone calls in advance to find out about parking and wheelchair access, we never got a response. When we arrived in person, they were quite lovely. This property is next to a mostly quiet tram track. All in all, we slept well and were comfortable.

I think we probably got what we paid for, which was an inexpensive night’s accommodation in an expensive part of London. We didn’t take advantage of the on- road parking outside the property as we were able to use the off-road drive at our son’s rented flat around the corner.

There is no self-parking on-site, there is offsite residential parking. We were in a studio room, the decor was outdated, some of the lighting was not working, the towels weren’t bath towels as it was too small to wrap around your body. There was tea and coffee available, however the coffee was so old it was baked into the little container. Overall, definitely wouldn’t recommend and we left as soon as we could.

We stayed at Kew Rooms for a wedding we were attending in Kew Gardens.
On arrival the staff were lovely and very accommodating.
However when we were shown to our room we were slightly disappointed, it was unclean, run down and in a state of repair. There were mould/leak patches covering the ceiling, the skirting boards were not completely fixed to the walls, the blind was ripped and dirty.
In the private bathroom the toilet seat was very loose and unstable.
We don't feel as if the pictures on the website were a true reflection of the property.

Too kind!

Amazing room (clean and equipped) for a great price. Its situated in a great location as there are all types of eating places in walking distance. Free parking, which was aplus. The highlight were the couple that own the place, they are so kind and went out their way to help us with everything and despite chaos from our side and only our side (nothing of their fault), they gave us another chance. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and apologise for everything. I wish you the wonderful couple everlasting success and happines!

The first problem was we could not raise Geoff or Christine when we arrived. However the room was very clean looking and the bed extremely comfortable. There were one or two maintenance problems which needed sorting out. Light bulbs missing,no plug for the wash basin and waterfall shower loose on the wall. Window shuts needed cleaning. Just as well we eat out ! only one fork but loads of teaspoons.It would have been nice to have had some little bars of soap in bathroom but there was shower gel and hand wash.Generally speaking it was a very satisfactory accommodation.

Parking is made to sound like a carpark, which in London is very handy and why I chose this hotel, it is infact on road parking where you have to have a permit between 10-12noon and fight for a space.
Room itself is pretty small, we stayed in studio 4, down a very uneven and unlit path, there was no heating that we could find, and no hot water, bed was very tired and dipped in the middle and the 'garden view' was a run down patch of grass with the railway behind it... but in general, for the price it was clean and comfy enough for what we needed for the 1 night.

Had to hunt down hosts in the evening to find out any information regarding stay. Other room had a full height door that opened onto flat roof with no rail ( no warning given) and covered in cigarette ends.

Stay at Kew Rooms

Kew Rooms is an adequate place to stay if you are seeing sites or visiting Kew Gardens in the evening as we were. It is a short walk from Kew Station so easy to get to central London.

The hotel is more of a guest house really. It is reasonably nice and Geoff was friendly.

We were quite disappointed by the level of cleanliness in the bathroom and there were a number of things broken such as the toilet seat and light switch. We had to ask for toilet roll and only one pillow each was a little bit stingy we thought.

Overall it was ok but I'd have to exhaust the other options in the area before staying here again.

On arrival we were greeted in a civil enough way and told we would be put in the \"studio room\". We were ushered through a gate and down an unkempt pathway to a building at the back of the house. The first thing we saw in the room was an unmade bed. The cleaner was blamed. The room was very poorly furnished, the \"double\" bed really only a large single. There were doors but no windows so no ventilation at night although a fan was provided. No bedside light and no light switches by bed. No hangers in wardrobe. Bathroom small but just about OK. Had to ask for loo roll. Worst \"hotel\" experience ever.

Convenient to Kew Gardens

Wanted to find somewhere to stay near to Kew Gardens. Kew Rooms is only a few minutes walk from not just the station but also to the gardens.

I had previously rung the owners in the afternoon to let them know I would be arriving late by train at around 9pm. An email from them was to let them know by phone that I had arrived. When I arrived they were out for a short while but was instructed how to find the studio flat I was put into.

Lovely little flat with microwave, hob and fridge. Small table and en-suite shower bathroom. Despite overlooking the railway I only heard the trains when I was going to bed or getting up in the morning.

Easy to book out as I asked before hand what to do with the keys as I was leaving early.

I would stay here again.

Functional and excellent value for money. Clean and comfortable for the price, parking no problem. Could fix the toilet seat and put batteries in the tv remote, but overall excellent value.

Really needs cleaning and maintenance.

Set in a brilliant place. Geoff the owner is a really nice man. Unfortunately there was lots wrong (probably due to covid) but he should have been ready more. There was no easy way to close the bathroom door, there was no handle and it was off the runners, the hand basin flooded, there was someones pants under the beds when we separated to 2 singles and maltesers, the cleaner hadn't done her job. He let my friend have the dustpan and brush to clean it! There were no locks working on the external doors. He did however sort that out. He really is nice and its a lovely place but needs to sort out his cleaning. Plus we got a full £1 yes £1 discount as we paid some cash. Only because I said I think you can let us off that! If he cleans it up I would stay again. Like I say he tried and post covid etc. But really was poor that he let my friend clean. That was what made it yuk for me.

Good location for Kew Gardens

I was met by friendly staff and room was very good... it was clean with bathroom next door... water was hot and a good tray of tea, coffee and breakfast supplies was in the room... my visit was to visit Kew Gardens and staying here was very close to gardens... the Kew Gardens tube was just at the end of road... would recommend if looking to stay in the area and very reasonably priced...

Pleasant stay

Conveniently located near station, easy parking, great host. Room was comfortable and clean. A little exposure to noise being on the main road but gets quiet later at night.

An excellent breakfast, very friendly around kitchen table. Big issue with sharing small bathroom with 6 people, very big issues with lighting to stairs to bathroom and no information about fire escapes,( surely they are required by law).

No resemblance to pictures. Cracked bathroom floor tiles no wardrobe or equivalent. Uncomfortable and generally tired. Breakfast was included but we declined due to cat hairs on kitchen table. Lacked attention to detail and needs a major refurbishment.
Should be listed as a bed sit.

Okay place if you’re stuck in Richmond area. It was close to Kew Gardens- the only positive. Room was basic, beds comfortable and linen clean and crisp. The positives.
Otherwise lighting VERY dim. Even bathroom was so dimly lit. Breakfast was basic, served in a haphazard manner. Pricey for what you get. Parking is on the Street... I think limited times

Good value pleasant owner and staff

Good value for money, clean, friendly owner and staff, convenient location. Enjoyable breakfast and enjoyed mingling with other guests. Minor niggle was loose toilet seat and shower fitting. Even so hope to visit again.

Location good for kew gardens but a few poor points.

* broken tiles in bathroom
* mirror not on wall
* no toiletries as suggested
* poor reply to text, not very welcoming
* terrible breakfast if that's what you can call it

For the price, it was fine, it was functional and very clean, hosts were super friendly and the location for a gig at Kew Gardens couldn’t have been any better. If we attend any more gigs at same venue, then will defo book to stay here again

We stayed here for 1 night for the Kew The Music event with Lewis Capaldi. The price of accommodation this week was high so we paid far far too much for this accommodation. Well what can I say !! We drove past at first cause there is no sign on the house to say it’s a B&B. Eventually we parked outside the property and thought how great it was to get a spot right outside. Oh no !! On knocking on the door the owner told us to move our car to another street as he wanted to go out soon ! He showed us to our room down a very worn and uneven pathway past a lot of piled up rubbish. From the outside the apartments at the bottom of the garden look quite nice. But don’t be fooled. Once inside we were faced with a very cluttered room. First impression though was that it was clean. We were then asked what time we would come to breakfast, between 7-9am. We said 830am? He replied “ ooo can you come at 8am?”
Once left in the room we then started to realised all wasn’t what it seemed. The bathroom door struggled to slide shut and even then didn’t shut properly, which made for awkward sit downs !! There was no window to open at all to let air in, only the main door ! We didn’t feel safe enough to do that. We found a ‘fan’ in a cupboard which was something out of the ark and blew out dust and not a lot of air !!! Half a blind on one of the patio doors was very odd ! But instead of taking that ill fitted blind down they just put curtains up to cover it ! I asked the owner for some milk as

Close to train. Paid for breakfast but got none. Leak in ceiling soaked clothes in one suitcase. Bad security. Had someone walk into our room in middle of the night. No car park available even though advertised there would be.

Noisy from Heathrow planes, and close-by train. Shared bathroom sink partially blocked. Shower drains toward door. No bedside light. No chair in room. Two overhead lights not working. Clean. Comfortable.
