It was great . Perfect room . However no fridge and no concierge to help with bags to the room . The tv was also quite low , even on the highest volume . However best sleep at the bedding is amazing. A bit far from city centre around 30 mins drive , so cabs are a bit pricey . However would defienfly book the Ibiza suite again .

The New York Suite was a great choice. Very spacious with luxury touches, nice and close to the resturant and car park. The kids also loved the bunk beds and tvs.
This is our favourite hotel chain in the NL as regular travellers.

We quite enjoyed our stay here. It is conveniently located off the highway. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. The windmill out front was wonderful to see.

Great hotel, dining-not so much

Lovely stay, be prepared for limited menu in restaurant and just “so-so” food. There are no restaurants around and Uber Eats is only Indian and fried chicken with a minimum $50 order. The breakfast buffet fare is delicious, offering a plethora of choices to suit everyone. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

The staff were friendly on check in and during my stay. the room was small but functional.

The ironing table was too small and the lead on the iron did not allow me to put the ironing board in a good enough location to use. a full size ironing table would be better.

I did not initially opt for breakfast as 19.50 euros is quite expensive, however, I was assured it was a full hot and cold breakfat with a grill chef to make me any eggs that i required. so I decided to pay for breakfast.

I was very disappointed with the egg options. I have stayed at many 4 and 5 start hotels in eurpe and the work and paid a lot less for breakfast and the grill chef has been able to make a simple poached egg or omolette. however, at the Van Der Valk Breukelen hotel this was not possible.

Also there were only hot options for small sausages, bacon and eggs, no mushrooms, no hash browns, no beans, no tomatoes, a very poor breakfast and not worth the 19.50 euros cost. I will not be paying for this substandard breakfast in the future.

If the hotel reduced the cost they might not have so much food waste and they might have more guests taking the breakfast.

The breakfast dining area was a very sad enviroment. Very very disappointing.

Spacious, quiet and very comfortable rooms. Short walk to the train platform. There are bikes to rent if you want to explore the pretty little town or area. It’s a bit of a hike to walk but doable.

Our forever hotel

The superior room bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in !! The veiw was lovely also from outside our room with the nice water fountain and mini lake. The rooms are soundproof from motoway noise but can definitely hear through the corridors but people were respectively going through so wasnt a issue definitely quieter than most hotels so can't complain. This amazing hotel Was next to a train station so we could very easily get into amsterdam in 25 to 30 minutes. Will definitely use this hotel again for future visits. Thank you 😊

Posh Hotel without any real magic

Posh hotel but reception team don't bring the sparkly. Honestly felt like I was inconveniencing the staff on check-in. I arrived at the hotel exhausted after a long journey with my mother. I was told that our room was in the Ibiza suite which is separate to the hotel. and then told you will find it. On check in I asked to reserve the pool, when arriving at the pool the booking had not been made. Had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant - overpriced and food is nothing to get excited about. The service in the restaurant was outstanding. Gym was well equipped and clean.

We liked that it was close to the train station. Our room was big and had an outside where we could sit and take in the duck and frogs when the sun set. The only downside was the bathtub. It was great, but had a hard time getting my mom out who is in her 80's. Maybe some safety strips in the bathtub itself. Otherwise it was great. Thank-you for a pleasant stay.

Rooms are big, so is the bath tub too. Indoor pool a bit on the small size & need booking for peak periods/hr.

Close to train station, about 7 mins walk. Great location to Utrecht and Amsterdam with a little travelling time. There’s a McDonald close by too.

This is a great hotel. Only 30mins from Amsterdam, but this is a nicer hotel than almost all Amsterdam hotels. I recommend this place to anyone coming to Amsterdam or Utrecht.

Hotel is rather good, rooms clean and nice. Breakfast is great.
But some small things were disappointing.

I was really surprised with very old hairdryers in rooms.
And no other option to get on the reception.
Couldn't dry my hair at all.

Couldn't get any slippers in SPA, it is charged additonally....
Strange as for the hotel with SPA service.

Need to wait for getting the order in restaurant really long.

I was visiting the hotel during renovation in order to have a rest, but workers start their noisy works at 7AM, so no chance to sleep.

We had a warm welcome when we booked in and that continued though out. So helpful with directions on train and metro travel. Was able to leave my car in the car park and travel into Amsterdam by train with the help of the staff. Trains and Metro so easy to use. The house keeping staff amazing friendly and helpful. Convenient airport shuttle bus to well-priced up-dated hotel. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Good air conditioning! Nicely up-dated and clean bathroom. Sound-proof windows so you don't hear airplane traffic. Good restaurant in hotel. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is nice, rooms clean, bright and contemporary.
Location isn't great - there's not much around unless you're prepared for a 30min walk into the town nearby or have a car.
The biggest downside is the room service charges - in addition to the cost of the room, it's over 12 Euro to bring it to you!! Given that there are no alternatives close by, it's worth bearing in mind if you're not the kind of traveller who likes sitting in a hotel restaurant alone.

The hotel is very clean. Service was not the best. I was told the taxi ride to the airport would be 65 Euros but was 85. This is a company the hotel uses so they should have known. The room was ice cold. OK if you are from Europe but to a S Californian it took forever to warm up. Bathroom was exquisite.

Have stayed here numerous times when going to Amsterdam, and has never been disappointed. Quiet clean hotel with an excellent breakfast. Train stop is 200 meters from hotel and 25 minutes to Amsterdam. Beats fighting the traffic and the rush of bikes.

Absolutely excellent, stated in a \"wellness suite\" and it was spectacular. Walk in dual steam shower (probably room for 10), in room sauna, jacuzzi tub, nespresso machine and fine living area. Nicer and cheaper than staying in Amsterdam central 15 minutes from rai, this will be my new place.

The Boat in The Pond

Loved the friendly & patient staff. Loved the central location with easy access to both the bucolic countryside or taking the train into A'dam or the more laid back Utrecht. The restaurants were yummy and the breakfast a diverse spread that was a value to start the day. We booked the \"Champagne Suite\" for our 5 night stay. It was wonderfully spacious and delightfully comfortable. While we accept that we are perhaps not the most aware of the latest European decorating trends we found the bathroom design, while elegant, not conceived with usability in mind. We ultimately found this immensely humorous throughout our stay. We eventually called the bathroom space \"The Pond\". Water flowed into the tiled space freely from beneath the glass shower door. The luxurious jetted tub (\"The Boat\") squirted wildly (while cycling different colored lights) and added to the puddles. But don't forgo this experience. It's a beautiful room, if confusingly designed.

There is an issue in security

Every thing was good but there is security issue in parking.
I foundy car tire damaged before I leave while it was good before I did the checkout. I think there are some people who're try to attack through this way and the hotel management does not look to this seriously just they put some flags to not leave things in the car.

Unexpected costs on arrival.

We enjoyed our stay but was a little disappointed that we had to pay an extra 20 euros per night to have a camp bed placed in the room - even when I had booked for 1 adult and 2 children this was not made clear. When checking in I learnt that the hotel does not have any family rooms 3 being the maximum per room and a couple with a 5 year old and a baby of 8 months had to pay for two rooms even though they had their own travel cot for the baby - it would make a holiday for most families too expensive. We had a great time

What a great value for your money. located 30 minutes from the city bz car or train, the hotel is a 5* property with outstanding facilities and service for a 3*price.

A great place to stop

This was a really nice hotel with staff eager to help. The restaurant and both outside and lounge bars were excellent, and the food at dinner was delicious with a wide choice. We were interested in spending time in Utrecht so the train station being only 300 metres away was ideal, and it was also easily reached by train from Amsterdam. However, if you are intent in spending days and evenings in Breukelen, it is quite a way to the town centre,and if you are walking, along busy roads. The neighbourhood is more commercial businesses with no shops and cafes/restaurants, but the hotel is also ideally placed for road travel.

This hotel is conveniently located half an hour away by train from Amsterdam. We got off at the Breukelen station, and walked 5 min to the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The only weakness was that there was no store to buy soda and so forth within walking distance. Would stay again.

Needed a place close to Amsterdam airport as our flight was early in the morning. The checking in was fast and the room was very clean and quiet even if the hotel is next to the highway. The menu is somewhat confusing, we asked if they could substitute fries for a salad and they said they could. We did not see a separate salad on the menu. The salad was good but was charged to our bill, the salad was on a different menu so it was seen as a ordered item versus substituted item, it was 22 Euro for 2 Caesar salads. Live and learn. The airport is about 20 minutes from the hotel. No queen size bed to be find in the hotel.

A pleasant stay

The location of the hotel was ideal for catching the train into Utrecht and Amsterdam- much better than even attempting to drive there!! Although the station only take coins, the hotel staff had no problems in changing up a note for us, they were very accommodating. The pool was a lovely place to wind down in the evening, and a good temperature for our young daughter. We didn't have breakfast included but we thought we would try it out once, it was nice, a good choice, but a bit steep at 15 euros a person-hence why we only tried it once!

Van der Valk Breukelen, a great place to stay

Hotel Van der Valk Breukelen is centrally located in Holland.
By train you can reach almost any place in Holland in less than 2 hours. Clean rooms, excellent food, friendly staff. It is one of my favorite hotels in Holland.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel. It is absolutely beautiful, stunning building and the rooms were lovely. Staff were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was the best I've had in a long time.
Only had 2 negative comments, if your room has one of rainfall showers, the whole bathroom gets quite wet so beware. Also my room was right above the dining room on the 1st floor, its quite noisy so if you are a light sleeper, like I am, ask for a room on the 2nd floor or above.
Otherwise, lovely hotel, would definitely go back!

Wonderful Hotel with great large clean and quiet rooms. Location is Great Near Train Station to Amsterdam or Utrecht and Highway, Large Parking Spot and even near the Highway No Sound of a Car ! Restaurant and Breakfast are Rich and Tasteful.
They even have a Little lake with Ducks.
The Gym id fully equipt, a Small inDoor Pool with Sauna and also a SPA.
Can you ask for More !? Next Visit in Netherlands will definitely stay there again.

2 nights stay for business in Amsterdam & Rotterdam. Easy drive to each city. Great hotel - in the new wing and very comfortable although I was a bit too thick to adjust the heating. Free parking, next to A2 motorway. Had 2 meals and both good quality and snappy service. Bonus that there was good table lighting so one could read while dining alone. Liked the wet room walk in shower too. This one is on my list for future trips to this region.
