The included breakfast was incredible!! So many options!! The room was spacious and the staff were wonderful and helpful. Only downside- a water pipe broke so there was no hot water for 2/3 days.

Very comfortable clean room just on the outskirts of Ljubljana. All the staff there were very helpful with suggestions with things to see and do in the area.
It is located near a bus stop which takes in about 20 minutes to old town which is where everything is happening.

Checked in a little earlier and the lady at the desk was extremely helpful and flexible. Breakfast ends at around noon and check out time can be extended if needed. Breakfast was amazing and extra points for them being so flexible. The room was clean, comfortable and big! Would come back again.

I cannot say enough about B&B Dvor Tacen! The staff goes above and beyond to help you with any questions you may have. The young woman at reception was lovely, even called for me to make an appointment for a haircut. The manager of the bar and restaurant is a hardworking young man, so pleasant and helpful. The staff was truly exceptional and naturally kind. The room was large, recently renovated, with a/c. Large bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, taken on the patio. There is a very popular and good restaurant next door, that is related to the hotel. Parking is free but quite busy! Although located outside Ljubljana, there is a bus that runs every 20 min and takes you downtown the city (where parking is virtually impossible) in 25 min.

They serve the best breakfast spread during our 10 day tour of Croatia and Slovenia. Very nice relaxing b&b and the friendliest service we had the entire trip too. It is 20min to old down Lubljana by car. They offer free bus pass but we didn’t get a chance to use that since we drove.

Yes, it may seem like you are out in the boonies but actually you are only 20 minutes or less from town using the bus which is right across from the hotel. We did several times and it was wonderful, the staff explain how it works and it went off without a hitch. and it you enjoy hiking the mt trail is just down the road, I did one morning and my brother did the next. Its worth the hike to see the church and its not as hard as it seems, several places to rest. Several nights for dinner we ate at the restaurant which is next door to this B&B, excellent food.

It was a wonderful stay. We were there 7 nights and it turned out to be a terrific choice for our home base. We took advantage of the convenient bus stop in front of Dvor Tacen. We stayed here one night before our flight out of Ljubljana back home. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes from the airport (cost us 20 EUR). Daniela, our host, was warm and friendly, our room large and comfortable, the restaurant next door was excellent. The hotel is overlooking a Sava river and we walked along its banks for a while, it all made for a very pleasant stay.

We arrived late so the hotel employee in the lounge, who seemed to be covering the front desk, carried our bags upstairs and gave us a quick rundown of the premises. Super friendly. Great location to drive into Ljubljana or go to Postojna or Lake Bled. The lady at the front desk (Daniella?) was very helpful with suggestions for parking and sightseeing. They even had loaner umbrellas for us to take for the day. Parking seemed to be lacking until you talk to the staff. They will make a spot for you if it is full but we never had a problem. There is a good restaurant next door as well. A very relaxing stay, I would recommend this hotel.

Quick stay at a B&B

Arrived around 9pm and there were no parking spaces due to the pub located within 20 ft of the B&B. We had to park our car across the street, waiting until the bar patrons left, before finding an open parking spot. Our bedroom was clean and the breakfast was tasty. Service was courteous. We did not stay long enough to enjoy the bar or the river next door.

Excellent base for visiting Ljubljana

Although some way from Ljubljana centre, it was easy to find and had good free parking onsite. A bus to the city centre left every 20 minutes from over the road and the hotel provided us with a free bus pass.
The room was lovely, very comfortable and well equipped and the garden restaurant provided both a good included breakfast and evening refreshments. It seemed quite a fashionable location for the locals in which to chill out. A good local restaurant with a large garden providing simple grilled meals etc was next door.

Easy bus ride into town from stop just opposite hotel - takes about 25 mins. Perfect place to stay near to Ljubljana.

This is a delightful B&B, but really much more than that. Really lovely bedroom and bathroom, comfortable and spacious. The lounge and bar area are a very pleasant place to be along with the attractive outdoor space. Drinks and snacks available mean it really is more than just a B&B. We loved it and will almost certainly return.

Beautiful, but got locked out

Gorgeous room, country hotel and area. Great pub for local food next door, and hotel has nice outdoor patio overlooking river.
Parking is a little tight, as there always lots of visitors to the pub next door.
I was advised that there would be someone at the front desk until 10pm- not true! I got locked out of my room, about 7pm (my fault), but when I tried to get into the hotel, the front door was locked. I went to the hotel cafe bar around back and was told the receptionist would be back in 30 minutes. I had a beer and then went for a walk- over an hour later the young receptionist returned (he claimed that he had to go shopping?!). That wasn't ideal!
Otherwise its a lovely place to stay!

Conveniently located just outside the city this small friendly bed and breakfast provided us with the ideal stepping off point to explore Ljubljana. The staff at reception were very helpful ready to answer all of our questions and offer suggestions on getting around and things to see and do. Our room was spacious very clean with a comfortable king sized bed and an excellent en suite. Breakfast which was the usual continental offering was served in an adjoining tavern/bar but everything was fresh and staff were again helpful and friendly.

Great capital getaway!

This is a superb B&B. Booked two rooms, one for my husband and me and one for my mom. The rooms were large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was in the coffee shop downstairs. The desk staff were amazingly helpful. They provided us with suggestions for what to do throughout the country. We took their advice and had a great time in Slovenia. We parked our rental car in the lot (it's a bit tight, but we always found a spot) and took the bus into Ljubljana. The bus picks up directly across the street from the hotel, and it's about a 20-25 minute ride into the city. The staff let us borrow two bus passes. The city itself is very walkable. The area immediately around the hotel is not touristy. Many hotel guests ended up at the restaurant next door, but other than that it was only locals. I highly recommend this B&B if you are visiting Ljubljana, and it makes a good base for touring the rest of the country as well. Lake Bled is only about 30 minutes away.

From entering the hotel to leaving the hotel after 2 nights we were impressed with the staff especially the reception staff. We met 3 of them and they were all so very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our room was beautifully furnished, the beds were very comfortable and the room extremely clean it even overlooked the river. Breakfast had a vast array of cold/hot options and was very good. All in all a lovely place to stay. Although it is outside of Ljubliana there is a bus stop opposite, get the No 8 bus and it takes you right into the centre at a cost of 1.20 Euro and takes about 20 mins. There are walks along the river or up to the top of the hill and there is a large Spar supermarket nearby. Next to the hotel is a rustic type restaurant with good value food and a varied menu, Well worth a try

This is a small, very clean, guesthouse/hotel with beautiful rooms and very helpful and friendly staff, and we recommend it highly. We went into Ljubljana using a public bus that stops right outside the hotel and having been given clear instructions about where to get on and off. The only drawback is that the restaurant garden was below our room - not a problem if windows can be closed, but the noise and smoke could be bothersome on a warm evening.

Beautiful accommododation 20 mins out of Ljubiana with a convenient bus trip into the centre. Excellent facilities and helpful staff made this a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in many hotels throughout Europe and this was the best. We had the deluxe room upstairs with a view of the river. The room was large with two sitting areas. The bathroom was larger than some other bedrooms we have rented. Everything was new and in perfect condition. Wish we could have stayed longer than just one night.

Slovenia's Dvor Tacen

Our main point of interest was Venice Italy and after looking at a map and finding Ljubljana, Slovenia a short 2 hours away we decided to take a side trip for a few days. We enjoyed Slovenia as much or more than Italy. The Dvor Tacen was a very nice B&B. Everyone spoke excellent English and were most helpful in offering sightseeing suggestions. The room was very comfortable with a larger than normal private bath. Breakfast was very good with cooked to order Omelets as well as the usual European fare. It was in a safe feeling residential neighborhood and a short drive to the city as well as to Bled and the Julian Alpes.

Dvor Tacen was a great B&B for our needs. It is located close to the highway, so as we left each day for our sightseeing, it was easy to get out of town. The one day we drove into Ljubljana it was easy to get around. The staff was very helpful. The outdoor cafe was relaxing, since it was right on the river.

Prior a business meeting in Ljubljana early next day I was looking for some place to stay overnight. Preferably on the way from the airport to the place of the meeting. And also located so that I can avoid the traffic jam in the morning. I was pleased by the hospitality of this hotel. Very reachable, newly reconstructed and indeed comfortable. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable with beautiful furniture. Staff is really helpful and friendly. It has an intimate cafe bar with delicious cakes and sandwitches for a reasonable price. For breakfirst they provide croissant, bread, cuts, cheese, cereal and they can also make warm dishes like scrambled eggs on demand and it's all included in the room's rate. It's about 15 minutes driving from the city center, but the traffic is acceptable even in rush hours.

We loved this place and it's owner. It overlooks a beautiful river and is very upscale and immaculate. They have a restaurant on-site and serve good food. If you enjoy hiking, there's a great trail up to the top off a mountain just steps away.

Out of city, but good location

The hotel was out of the city but in a good location. Easy bus access to the city. Friendly staff, clean facilities, good service. Nice finish to a long trip.

Great Place In All Respects

On a recent trip to Croatia and Slovenia we stayed in many hotels. This was easily the best place we stayed. The size and style of the room was great. The bathroom was good sized, and the shower was huge (rarity in Europe). Location was convenient, an easy 20 minute bus ride to downtown Ljubljana (bus stop was across the street, buses ran every 15 minutes). Attached restaurant had great setting and service, and good food. We heartily recommend the Dvor Tacen

Nice well-decorated hotel with easy access

The staff were very friendly, considerate and willing to help. As the staff spotted that my wife and I carried two big lugguages, he assigned a room on the ground floor for us. Also, the room was spacious, clean and well-decorated with modern design. The breakfast was OK. But as it was included and no additional charge was imposed, I considered it totally acceptable. Overall, my experience in this B&B was satisfactory and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Great service

We would highly recommend this hotel as the room was lovely with a huge bathroom. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very accommodating and the owner went out of her way to get a message to us from home. Great grounds overlooking a river and very accessible to Lyubljana.

Wonderful Experience

The outside of the hotel can be quite deceiving but once you enter the hotel you will be pleasantly surprised as it is ultra modern, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast in the restaurant was also very good and the staff very friendly and helpful.

If I was picky my only complaint would be the pillows and that tissues were not provided in the bathroom.

If I ever return to Ljubijana in the future I will definitely return,

This is a beautifully restored villa

Absolutely wonderful villa that has been tastefully restored. The rooms are excellent, bathrooms very modern. It has a restaurant and cafe/bar attached which has wonderful inside area and brilliant outside area with river views.
The staff are very attentive but discreet.
The presentation is first class.

Excellent Guest House 8 km from city centre

We had an excellent two-night stay at this hotel. It's 8 kilometres from the city centre (with frequent buses from the stop right opposite the hotel), and about the same distance from the Airport.

Amazing!

This place is fantastic, very clean nice rooms, located outside Ljubljana but next door to an excellent restaurant. Their breakfast is very nice and it is located on the bank of a beautiful river. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough.
