the hotel is in a great location right in town…great staff…clean rooms…good beds…the only draw backs are no parking at the hotel…(there is parking near by just a few minutes walking distance)…but can drop off luggage…not wheelchair accessible…have to carry luggage up a few stairs to get into the hotel…would not recommend coming during the set up and event they have every year for the harvest…usually late september…the roads in town are usually blocked by tents etc…unless you are looking to party and have fun until 2 or 3 am :)…

This hotel was so charming and perfect for our stay. We had a very comfortable room, and a beautiful view of Lake Geneva, just across the walkway. The staff was very helpful and cheerful and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda every night. I would recommend Hotel Rivage to anyone staying in the area.

Quaint place in a busy lakefront town

Quaint place in a busy lakefront town. Nice large apartment with large windows and partial lake view. Nice restaurant overlooking the marina. Advertises free parking, but there are only 5 spaces, so good luck with that. You'll probably end up at public paid parking 2 - 3 blocks from the hotel.

Only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is that they had the elevator not working. I had a room in the 3rd floor so you can imagine carrying suitcases, strollers, etc. and no one to help.

Loud cleaning in the morning, otherwise all well.

Fantastic lake view in the city. Very clean and comfy room. However, the only down side of this place was in the early morning, around 8ish/9am you would definitely start to hear the cleaning lady puts on very loud music while cleaning and banging things next door. Very unpleasant if you are a late person and would love to just chill in the room a bit longer. I would suggest at least start the cleaning after the standard check out time, says 11. Otherwise it’s all well.

Lovely quiet hotel with a good restaurant extending onto the outdoor terrace. Lake view rooms are worthwhile. Modern in style & comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
The staircase carpet could be replaced because it lets down the image on arrival. Parking is a problem if travelling by car. It is possible to park for a few minutes to drop cases but any car then needs to be parked in one of the nearby public car parks ( about 5 minutes walk away). If you arrive on a Friday it is best to do so in the late afternoon because thereafter parking can be difficult because of musical entertainment in Lutry.

Fabulous location on Lac Leman. Notable (though very pricey) hotel restaurant on terrace overlooking boat harbor and promenade. We could listen to the live Thursday and Friday night concerts from here. Friendly staff are helpful. Small elevator to reach upper floors. Double room very small but with good air conditioning and managed to find a place for all luggage using the tall, narrow cabinet provided with a safe and mini-fridge suitable for wine bottles of course. We asked for and received extra pillows. There is public parking near (less than 5-minute walk) from the hotel and a few spots along the hotel for a price, 9 Swiss francs for half the day and 16 for a day. It’s free after 8pm. You buy the parking passes to set on your dash-board at the reception. The only negative is the almost complete absence of Internet. They have it, but it takes an hour to get on and then cuts out constantly. We explained the situation and were given a WiFi repeater which really did nothing to resolve the issue. It made completing my work impossible. Perhaps the issue was confined to our room or our floor. We were not facing the water. Other than this, the hotel is a short walk to your left as you exit to the beach and a nice buvette with delicious food and view of the water. Another plus is that you can get a card with a clock on it from the reception desk for free to put in your car for the period from 7-8am if you are leaving around 8am or shortly thereafter to avoid paying parking.

Marked down slightly because housekeeping were still cleaning our room when we arrived at 330pm and there was still some rubbish left there from previous guests. And because parking (at 16CHF a night) is an exemption to local parking rules rather than an actual space, so you might end up parking on the other side of town if the 5 spaces outside the building are full.

Didn't try the restaurant or go for the breakfast after seeing the prices, but there are plenty of decent places to eat locally.

Room was quiet despite being right over the restaurant, which was nice. Comfortable bed, nice to have a couple of chairs, bathroom was large enough and clean. No hair conditioner provided though!

Worth paying a little extra for the lake view in my opinion, maybe the balcony upgrade with a long stay.

They had a coffee machine out in the hallway you could use they gave you one coffe insert. No tea nobody to help you bring in luggage I am retired and the manager just watched me come up the stairs struggling with my luggage. When I left one of the cleaning ladies saw me and came and helped me. I prayed over her and told her thank you. The best think about the property is the location!!!

We stayed in this extraordinary hotel, very traditional lake-side, in a thoroughly positive sense bourgeois hotel a number of times over the past few years. Always delightful to return and benefit from a friendly, creative, and attentive host. The setting is highly unusual, as there is no road between the hotel and the lake to swim in. The sound of the waves reaches into the rooms...
However, the quality of the meals has suffered a bit over the years, and the creative decorations of the plates does not suffice to make up for what has been lost. Still good, but no longer very good.

Nice hotel, w/difficult parking/drive up access

Spacious room with large bathroom. Good water pressure in the shower. Small balcony with stunning view of the Alps (though it is obstructed by boat masts as the hotel is located on a small harbor). The one warning is for guests with cars: while the hotel offers parking there are really only 3 or 4 spots on the street in front of the hotel. If they are taken you are out of luck and the alternative parking requires that you get up before 7 am to pay for the next day, which may or may not be ideal for your vacation schedule. Additionally, the hotel is located in the midst of one way and pedestrian only streets. Hotel reception acted like it was very straight forward and provided no guidance on how to access the hotel by car. Despite driving around for 30 minutes, we were not able to find a legal way in. Ultimately we drove illegally to access the hotel. Hopefully a ticket will not soon show up in the mail...

One hour walk to Lausanne train station. Nice lake view and quiet location for those who ask for a relaxing retreat!

We reserved a room with lake view balcony and it was more than great. Having breakfast with Lake Leman in front of you to enjoy is an unforgettable experience!

Beautiful stay by the water!

We had an absolutely excellent stay- comfortable bed, big room with a lake view, friendly service, and a perfect location (in a quiet, quaint town right on the lake, about a 7 minute drive to downtown Lausanne)- we would not hesitate a moment to stay here again! The picture was our view from the room, so pretty!

Get outta town

Just a tiny bit out of town, at your 2nd train stop from the bustle of Lausanne, tranquility awaits you! Reasonably priced, this hotel is wonderful and quiet. The Suisse 'steamer' docks right nearby, and Lutry is a true little Swiss village right on Lake Geneva. Go there; get away from the noise and tourists, and live as the Swiss do. The hotel has an excellent restaurant. This is where you'll find the locals enjoying a casual but wonderful dinner. Eat fish caught in the pristine lake water, and enjoy the fruit and meals which are noticeably fresh and wonderfully prepared. A truly relaxing stay.

Arrival at this hotel by car is difficult and there appears to be no dedicated area for drop off.
The entry area is not awe inspiring but our room was very good, modern & comfortable.
Excellent sound proofing with electric shutters for the Windows.

Good buffet breakfast.

Car parking is only available in the public car parks a few minutes away which is a problem if there is an event in the village.

Rude Hotel Staff

This was my first experience with Switzerland and I will not be coming back. First of all, they gave us the wrong room. I informed the girl we paid for a double lake front room and she told me that room type simply does not exist. Of course I asked for a reimbursement on the price difference considering I paid a considerable amount more for a lake view room. She also told me she could not do that and I could stay somewhere else if the price was not okay.

This was the theme of our stay, rude staff. We couldn't even sit at the hotel restaurant for drink because they were booked, not even the bar, even though there were only two tables in the whole place sat. The rooms were small and the beds were hard.

We left early.

Nice hotel, but much better views!!

Overall a very nice hotel, views and scenery were amazing. Room was very nice also with a nice bathroom and large shower (for Europe). Hotel staff were ok, could have been more friendly, outgoing and helpful (not the most hospitable hotel we've stayed at). The staff knew some English, but still there was some language difficulties. Did not try the hotel restaurant (was very pricey, as most everything seems to be in Switzerland, and menu only looked ok). Very small town, but cute, and only a few restaurants within, but enough to get by. Cute shops also, but we're closed mainly during our stay (which was over a weekend). Did have a nice, quaint street market on Saturday. Lausanne is only a short drive away which has most everything you need. Overall a very nice, comfortable place, but most noteworthy for its spectacular views of the water and mountains!

The hotel is in a nice , very Quiet area, with breathtaking view of Geneva lake and the French Alps on the other side of the lake, there is no activity in the evening, so it is for relaxing only, the room is small, bed is nice, I recommend a room with balcony and a lake view, the view is awesome day and night, it is a 3 stars hotel , so no great expectations regarding the sevices and luxury, the hotel has a nice restaurant, offering the French Cusine .The stuff is friendly, speak French and English, there is no coffe machine in the room,the area surrounding the hotel is very quite at night, so I recommend the hotel for people who need a view for relaxation.

This is a charming hotel facing Lake Geneva...beautiful terrace to have drink or sit outside..Lutry is a small medieval village just 10 minutes form Lausanne, easy to access via rail, boat and bus. Would recommend only lake views as the other rooms face on to buildings..only negative comment is that English TV channels (BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC) have been dropped from their satellite TV, probably cost savings as all other languages available..staff friendly and efficient...breakfast extra 22 CF but lots of selection and good quality

One night get-away in quaint village. Hotel was nice and comfortable at the lake. We had a small room with a window to the lake view. The weather was not great that day do we didn't mind that they didn't honor a balcony room. It was perfect for an evening stroll before dinner at la terrace. Enjoyed an after dinner drink at the hotel terrace before bed. Overall a comfortable experience.

Don't stay in Lausanne while visiting Lake Geneva, stay in Lutry! It's a beautiful village & is an easy local train trip or ferry to Montreaux, Chillion or Lausanne. Hotel Rivage is right on the lake front & as we had a balcony room we could sit outside while enjoying the fantastic sunset view. The room was spacious, recently renovated, very clean & had the best bathroom we've encountered on this trip so far - the l'occitaine bath products were a nice touch. Staff were not overly friendly but we had no need to request extra service or information so this wasn't a problem.

Relaxing and Beautiful

My husband and I loved every second of our two night stay here. We were transitioning from business in Geneva to a vacation in Berlin and we found the hotel to be a perfect place to recharge. The food was excellent, the wine was wonderful and the peaceful, beautiful views of the lake were restorative. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. We wished we had stayed longer.

The room was too small and the website stated “patio” that means “patio view” they explained, which was far from the truth. I asked for a room change because for 150.- the room was poor, next to the entrance of the second floor with guests in and out constantly loud until 12:30 in the evening and starting again at 6:45. No internet reception whatsoever, when I went to the reception to complain, the girl was very nonchalant and when I asked to change rooms she tried to charge me 40.- I ended up paying 20.- but I still find it outrageous to pay extra for some peace and quiet and some internet reception. Breakfast was lacking immensely which was sad, for a 3 star hotel it could’ve been a lot better, although the waiter was most attentive and polite. Shame.

Ottima ricezione internet e canali TV italiani disponibili. Colazione di discreto livello. E’presente un ristorante al piano terra.

Die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch grad am Hafen vom schönen Lutry. Die Zimmer sind ok, allerdings sind grosse Gebrauchsspuren überall ersichtlich. Die Dusche war schon ziemlich verkalkt. Alles in allem für 1-2 Nächte ganz ok.

Das Hotel ist einmalig gelegen, direkt an der Seepromenade. Das Personal ist durchwegs sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Treppe im Treppenhaus war über 3 Tage verschmutzt. Die Zimmer und alles übrige sind aber tip top sauber. Das \"Corona\" Frühstück ist etwas klein, der Preis wurde aber auch gegen unten angepasst. Sehr gerne komme ich ein andermal wieder

Nous avons bien mangé et le personnel était très sympathique et attentionné ! Dommage qu’il puisse pas nous offrir les digestifs ou les cafés on étaient quand même un groupe de 7 personnes !!! Nous avions une réservation vue sur le lac mais nous étions sur un côté de l'hôtel donc nous devions nous approcher de la fenêtre pour voir le lac.
L'état des équipements de la salle de bain est moyen. Porte papiers qui tombe, vasque de la douche jaunâtre, porte mal fixée, isolation de la chambre trop légère.

Endroit excellent, hôtel à renouveler

Endroit de l'hôtel remarquable, vue superbe. Propreté des draps et essuies mais nécessite de renouveler les parties communes, tapis sur les escaliers franchement plus que dépassé (du vert on est passé au noir....)
Accueil: il faut pouvoir attendre à la réception.

Fantastisk beliggenhet og god seng!

En meget flott beliggenhet med et fascinerende nærområde er det som gjør dette hotellet verdt turen ned til vannkanten.
Hotellet i seg selv er et intimt et, med små romløsninger men med gode senger.
Forventet betraktelig mer fra frokostbufféen, spesielt til en såpass stiv tilleggspris, men her er kanskje vi nordmenn en smule bortskjemt?
Om du kommer med bil anbefaler jeg deg å spørre om parkering utenfor hotellet så fort som mulig, ellers blir det parkeringshus en kort spasertur unna.

Great location but very poor wifi connection

Lovely area. Nice hotel but with 2 big drawbacks: (1) pillows very small and uncomfortable; (2) wifi not working in my room - probably in other rooms was working, but not in that one. I didn't try the breakfast, therefore can't comment.

部屋は新しくはなく、また広くもないがきれいに掃除されている。レイクビューの部屋からの眺めは素晴らしい。近くにはレストランもカフェも商店もあり、フェリー乗り場も近い。

Ficamos neste hotel só para dormir!Um pouco complicado de chegar de carro porque tem ruas que não podem transitar por perto.Nao tem estacionamento.So um público nas proximidades e um com 3 vagas que vc pode deixar trocando o papel como se fosse um rotativo e a noite e liberado.Hotel mais antigo mas o quarto já foi reformado.Ficamos em um quarto bem pequeno e com janela pra parte interna(telhado e outras janelas)aí fechei a persiana externa pra escurecer mas com o vento bateu a noite toda.A cama era um pouco mole e travesseiro ruim.Cafe da manhã em local agradável e com tudo que precisava.A localização e muito boa,de frente pra uma Marina no lago.Acredito que os quartos da frente devam ser melhores

Gute Lage.
Leider keine hauseigenen Parkplätze. Die Parklösung ist kompliziert.
Das Zimmer war mässig sauber. Fleck auf dem Leintuch, Schalter im Bad nicht sauber geputzt, Nachtische schmierig!
Einrichtung sehr schön.
