Hotel is situated at a good location within the old town. Nevertheless, taking advantage of this to deny any functionality or care to bathrooms in rooms and to common places in general is just not fair considering the prices being charged. A shower with full mold in grouts or a hand held shower head with broken height adjuster is just simple disrespect to not only the industry being part of, but also to the guest. This is my second stay in the hotel and it's getting worse as time passes. Never again!

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in (and that's a lot!) The staff were friendly, the room clean and comfortable with a lovely bed! Quiet and well set out and the breakfast was perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and the restaurant around the corner, Rive Gauche is excellent too with friendly helpful staff.

Best location in Annecy that’s located in the heart of the old city and walking distance to everything. Highly recommend hotel if staying overnight or longer in the quaint and fairytale like city in France (Little Venice). The boutique room as expected is small but, has amenities that rivals the bigger hotel we stayed in Geneva. Highly recommend to all. Thank you.

Enjoyed the quaint hotel and its location in the old town area. It's rather difficult to park far away and drag your suitcases to the hotel. No cars are allowed near the hotel. The room was fine, and the lady at the check-in was helpful.

Perfect location, very nice staff, clean and comfortable room. Would definitely stay here again if make it back to Annecy. Be aware that you cannot drive cars near the hotel, it is only accessible by foot. A little tricky bringing roller suitcase over cobblestone roads, but well worth it!

Property was very clean. Staff were amazing and Annecy is beautiful. Downside was the tiny lift and our room was very small as its shoe horned into the loft. Just wanted a shower and you have to kneel or sit in the bath to do so. That said breakfast was amazing and we were met with a smile.

Perfect location to be walking about town. Fun, unique hotel with clean comfort. Location, location, location is the number one thing. BUT, if you are a light sleeper it stays quite loud until 2-3AM. The window would need to be closed to eliminate noise. Wonderful stay, no true complaints.

Room 404 is at the top of the hotel, and although fairly spacious, and has several conditions to consider: 1) room access requires going up/down its own flight of stairs, 2) due to sloping roof, it is difficult to stand up in the shower and the head of the bed being under the slope also requires care when getting in or out, 3) the only clothes storage is a cupboard with two shelves – no hanging spaces at all, 4) very dim lighting overall, with the only bathroom light being on one side of the mirror – not conducive to makeup or shaving, 5) space between the end of the bed and the wall is very tight. Breakfast buffet choices were limited, and seating can be an issue at times.

On the plus side, electrical outlets were plentiful and well-located, the air conditioning worked well, there was a great view of the old city rooftops and the Palais de l’Isle on the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Annecy. Taxis can come to the hotel only until 11 am. I would stay here again, but in a different room.

Beautiful beyond belief.

Had a lovely few days at this hotel, the room was clean & spacious overlooking the pedestrianised old town street. Can’t say what the breakfast was like as we ate out. Unfortunately we arrived when the road was closed to drop our bags from the car, but we were directed to the underground car park just across the road & parked there.
The views & general vibe of Annecy is beautiful, the people were very friendly. My only regret was not swimming in the lake. We loved our time here & will return. Thank you Hotel du Palais de L’Isle staff.

This hotels pictures over sell the property. I had a premium double room which turned out to be very small. It was hot with ineffective air con, cramped with minimal storage and no windows in the bathroom or toilet. Very central location but annecy is so small its uneccessary to be that central.

The 2nd nights staff offered to move us but the other rooms were barely any different. From what i can tell the developers have put too many rooms in one building.

Nice staff but cant reccommemd the hotel.

This hotel is centrally located. Right in the middle of all the restaurants, shopping. It is also conveniently located for the lake and bike hire places. All within easy walking distance. The bus station is about 15minute walk.
The room we were gicen (48) was small and it seemed there wasn't enough ventilation and felt a bit stuffy. So I opened the window to allow fresh air. Unfortunately the windowsill was full of pigeon droppings. This was the reason for the low score. This could have easily been cleaned. Allsaid, this is not a bad hotel for a couple of nights. Centrally located and convinient for sightseeing.

We had a room with a view of the rooftops and a little strip. It was lovely. Separate bathroom from shower was nice. The staff were helpful and they served an excellent breakfast with specialty coffees. Took care of my dietary needs (gluten and dairy intolerant) It was close to everything. Surrounded by canals and close to the lake.

Stayed here for a night before my flight to Nice. I loved that free breakfast came with my booking and it was delicious. I wasn’t too happy about the “luggage storage” being in the reception area where breakfast is served but my belongings were fine. My room was clean and I had a stunning view of the canal. Would stay here again!

Hotel located in the middle of the old city which is a tourist spot and gets very busy during the day. Check-in was easy. Staff was friendly. Sofa bed was already setup. They had a impressive European style breakfast spread with fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, cheese, freshly baked baguette, waffle, pancakes. The room was small, corridors were small, elevator was tiny. We got woken up in the middle of the night by an alarm along with our neighbors. It was a pleasant stay nevertheless.

This property is riddled with BLACK MOLD. Do not stay here! My infant son became ill and suffered respiratory issues after staying here. It was all through the grout and in every corner of the bathroom, I couldn’t even use the shower out of fear of getting sick. You can smell it in the room as well. I spoke to reception and they did not even offer me a new room (though this wouldn’t have made a difference - it is throughout the whole hotel). The property manager is refusing to address the issue and is ignoring communication from me and from Expedia as well. We had to cut our trip short and leave France early due to my son becoming sick from the mold. Do not risk your health and risk ruining your trip - stay somewhere else!

Super great location in Olde Town! Rooms are small, but come on....are you really there to stay hang out in a hotel room? Nope. The room had all that you would need (except no washclothes...we brought our own because of past experience in France). The bed, pillow, and comforter (no top sheet as in most hotels in this region of Europe) were very comfortable! We are each meal at a different cafe in Olde Town...a must! The morning market came alive our first morning transforming the streets completely. Very cool! If we return to Annecy, we will definitely be staying here again!

This is a lovely hotel. The staff I interacted with were really friendly and welcoming.

The room was a single room, and was clean with a comfortable bed. The shower was great and towels fluffy. One thing I would say is that the door to the bathroom is clear - not a problem for me as I was alone (and think my room was meant for one). Not sure if other room types have the same set up but may be worth checking as, if you’re sharing a room, depending on who you’re travelling with, this may not be suitable. That isn’t meant as a criticism at all - just think it’s something I would want to know in advance.

The location was perfect as it’s close to the beautiful Lake Annecy, and also close to lots of bars / restaurants nearby. It also felt really safe as a solo female traveller.

Would definitely highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing location, nice decor if slightly tired in the bathroom. What pushed this stay into 5 star territory was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Special mention goes to the reception team member who looked after us in the breakfast space after we couldn’t find a place for dinner on New Years Eve. He warmed our traitor bought dishes in the microwave, provided a corkscrew and sold us beer. He even selected classy music for the occasion. A potential crisis averted, converted to a memorable, enjoyable night.

The room even at the lowest price was still very small. The elevator was extremely small. There is no main lobby area or sitting area for hanging out. The location is excellent. The staff was very helpful. The rooms are clean. They turned the air conditioning on on request otherwise it would have been a very warm room.

Avoid room 25. Not a great experience.

Despite the amazing location I have scored this low due to the awful outlook from our room. There was no daylight visible and we looked down on all of the recycling bins. This in itself wasn't pleasant, but woudn't have caused me to write this review. However, alongside the view there was constant noise from staff dropping bottles into the bins from very early to very late, meaning we couldn't have the windows open. There were numerous pigeons sat on the ledges outside (and we saw them going into the kitchen) We obviously couldn't risk them coming into our room, so despite it being very warm at night we couldn't have any fresh air in the room. This also wouldn't have been an issue if the air con was working, but they had turned it off a few days before we arrived. I spoke to reception about this and they were unable to do very much at all. There was no room to move to until our last day (we didn't take them up on this as we were leaving the following morning) and they offered a fan if we wanted it.
I felt that the photos of the hotel before booking did not represent what we got. I am sure there are rooms in the hotel with those views, but that wasn't room 25!
Aside from that, the staff were actually all very pleasant, and the hotel itself is in an amazing position. The styling of the room was really lovely, but very much lacked anywhere to store clothes, we ended up having to live out of a suitcase on the floor.

The hotel was quite nice and our room on the top floor had a great view of the bustling street below. As in many historic areas in Europe, our room was small though adequate, made smaller yet by the slanted ceiling under the roof. Plan your stay well by packing a small overnight bag as you will have to carry it in from the garage. Steep streets.

Really good stay overall, very clean, smells nice and easy to find. Only issue we had is that we got woken up to a fire alarm coming from our room. Understandably a lady knocked on our door asking if we had smoked to which we said no. It was very obvious we had just woke up since being in our underwear and I was still in bed. She rushed off which is understand but we had no update or apology for what had happened since we had been interrupted in our underwear. However over all stay was very pleasant. 24/7 receptionist, right in the center, everything is walkable.

Last time I am booking with hotels.com. I’ll be booking directly with the hotel. I booked a premium double room (18-33m) I got a charming double room (14-17m) - like sleeping in a shoebox! No closet. The confirmation email just said ‘double room’. The hotel said I booked the smaller room. They would not provide a refund and could not provide an upgrade as they were fully booked. Hotels.com took their side.

Annecy - a beautiful town

In my opinion, Annecy is the most beautiful town in France. The Old Town, the lake, the mountains and the location are spectacular.
Our hotel was in a wonderful location to enjoy all the area has to offer. Such a wonderful experience.
Everyone in the town was eating ice cream. It was amazing to see.
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly

Right in the centre of old Annecy so has plenty of food outlets nearby. Also very close to the lake for access to the boat trips. Within walking distance of the main station though is a maze of streets but you quickly get used to them.

Hotel itself is 3 star and perfectly functional although I think the decor needs a little freshening up. Rooms are small generally but probably average for a hotel inhabiting an old building in a popular European town. Elevator could be larger, or a second one installed as stairs are awkward and not to be messed about on (similar to stairs in an English castle tower).

Very clean so housekeeping appears to be excellent. Breakfast (14 Euro) is perfectly adequate for a 3 star hotel.

If you have followed my reviews, this is another hotel in an old building in the old part of town. We walked both ways to the trsin station but not the streets are mostly cobbles... call us both 70... but in reasonable \"shape\".

Room is a little compact, with a remodled bath (in the last 5 years or so?). Tube shower combo. Towel rack is water heated so probably only works in winter.

Again, the stellar comment is about the staff, very nice people.

Breakfast was good, cereal, bread, sliced meat, cheese, eggs, fruit, GOOD Coffee, juice

I woul happily stay here again.

On the canel, 2 blks to the lake...

Extremely convenient in the center of Old Annecy. Very clean, simple decor, but everything we needed, including a fridge in the room. Bed was very comfortable. One of the best breakfasts we've had in years of travel to Europe. Very kid- and pet-friendly.

It can be noisy at night (rowdy bar-hoppers at 5 a.m.), so bear that in mind. Would definitely stay again!

Annecy is beautiful and this hotel was right in the centre of the old town. Directions for parking were good and we got a discount from the hotel. It’s a 5 minute walk so would be difficult with lots/large bags. The room was small but met our needs and was clean and bright, bath and shower plus separate toilet in en suite. We felt very safe even though hotel is entrance is on a pedestrian street and surrounded by numerous restaurants. Staff were very efficient and spoke excellent English

If using the stairs there are several separate staircases one had to use which was a fire safety concern for us as was the lack of any safe window egress from our room on 4th floor. It was a great stay, the only thing that was disaapointing is that our room wasn’t ready by the checkin time :/. However, the staff was very friendly, the location was great, it’s super eco friendly, it’s pet friendly and offers late checkout. They even had umbrellas that you could borrow if it was raining, which is really thoughtful. Great location as well. Would definitely stay there again.

Great experience at this hotel. Location is excellent, right off Perriere Bridge. Parking garage is off site but a short walk to the hotel. It is a public parking garage but the hotel offers a big discount on your overnight stay. There was a line to enter the parking garage but line moves quite fast so don’t be discouraged and wait for your turn. Check in and check out processes were easy. The hotel lobby is quite small but our room was very big (we were a family of 4), comfortable, well decorated, new and clean. Bathroom was very good, as well. Room was quiet at night and early morning. No problems at all with noise coking from the street.
We highly recommend this hotel.

Situated in the absolute heart of old Town Annecy, this hotel was beautiful, spotless, in the most perfect location, and it is run with the professionalism and attention to detail that many hotels seem to have lost. It is located right at the spot where everyone comes to get the postcard shots in Annecy. All of restaurants and shops are right outside your door and the lake, bike rentals, sport shops, and the best Alps ice cream is right there. Yet step inside from the bustle of your pedestrian street and your room is quiet and peaceful. It was perfect for our family! The breakfast is a beautiful and comprehensive spread with great coffee. The staff made recommendations for our trip that we would have missed ( The Gorge and Castle were a must see and we would have missed it.) Book with complete confidence!!! This was an amazing establishment!

Amazing view in room 202 of the canal and the staff was extremely helpful with understanding where to park(& how to pay). Parking is not on site so pack light however it is worth the $$ with the views and ability to pop in & out of room easily. We opened our balcony doors/windows and let the breeze blow in- just lovely!!!

For me this is a 5-star review, people need to keep in mind when you pay for a hotel at the location it is. Yes, the hotel is fairly small but the location and cost it's totally worth it. I am planning to come back again in a few months.
The place can be noisy if you keep your windows open at night be aware.

Great. Exceed your expectations

In the most concise way possible, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOTEL. It’s not the most luxurious, but I’ve not felt as comfortable in a hotel as I have done in this one. It’s very small but there is nothing I can fault this hotel for. A great stay!!!

Incredible location in the center of it all! Get the upgraded room for extra space because it was worth it! You will have to make a short walk with your suitcase but it’s no big deal.
