The location is very convenient and we loved the canal and restaurants just round the corner. We were at the front of the hotel and it’s a bit noisy when the trams are running - but we did know that might be the case. All the staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous, efficient and extremely helpful.

It's quite clean when we were there, everything was fine. I was just unsatisfied with one thing, the door to the balcony was opened and couldn't close, I asked about three receptionists of different shifts about fixing it during our stay, the first one said that it was meant to be fixed on the day, but it didn't. I said as the room was not fully functioned, I should get a little discount for the payment, he said I could ask the receptionist the second day. When I asked the second and third receptionist, both of them said that we will check it, and no one was checking or following up this problem. And I gave up asking finally. This was the only experience I felt really bad. Otherwise. Overall it's clean and near the center.

Hotel charge for each coffee and ask $10 to buy a mug to waive the coffee charges. Entrance is locked and need reception to open but may takes time as there is only one reception who maybe busy. No support to give info to move around the city. Neighboring shops are repairiing shiop. or close down and too quiet makes me nervous. Walking to Train station is not bad. Once get back to main street, you see the normal tourists and downtown you feel safe

Very good location, close to train station, close to Royal Academy den Haag, close to shops and restaurants. It would be useful to have a list of recommended restaurants in the area to try traditional Dutch food. Pannenkoeken, Indonesian Rijsttafel, and deep fried snacks like Bitterballen and Kroket were on my list to try, but the front desk had no local recommendations. A bit noisy at night due to trains and street traffic, but settled down after midnight.

My room this trip was not the best (#22) as it was by a hall door that when closing shook the wall awakening me several times. Also, no fridge or coffee in the room.

The photo of the room was quite misleading, the room is quite small and the so called city view promised on the website was nothing but a wall in front of my window.
The experience got worse when the heating stopped working on the first day, after complaining to the gentleman at the reception and asked to swap the room, this person told me that it wouldn't be possible and left a portable heating device in my room. This device was left on and made the room so hot that me and my partner had problems breathing and falling asleep after we arrived. We felt insulted and scammed for paying for a hotel that did not correspond to the price we paid, or the stars shown at the front.

A bit hard to locate the hotel as was misled by its name “Boutiqe Hotel First ….” as shown in Expedia website. But the sign displaced at the property location and its name is “First City Hotel…”. Pls show the correct hotel name in your website to eliminate any confusion.

Good location. It is a short walk from the main train station. And there is a tram stop outside the door. The hotel room I was in was recently refurbished and very nice. The reception on arrival was very pleasant.

I don’t like writing reviews where the property can’t do much about it, but it’s a few blocks from the centrum and the area is not great. They are renovating the hotel so at times it was noisy. My room was on the top floor with two other rooms and was only accessible from a steep staircase with narrow treads. They helped me get my suitcase up but it was a challenge to get it down. There is an elevator for the other floors. Not worth the price.

Booked this place on behalf of my elderly parents. Kid of place I would stay in but not what my parents usually choose. No onsite parking, which I didn't check myself first, and no breakfast inclusion which they usually go for. Because it was raining they decided to pay for the breakfast but they said there wasn't much choice. They were happy with the bed and had good sleep in which was great to hear. Staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

we had a really great stay!! we stayed for 2 nights and first the location is amazing, it's really central, the room was clean and I thought it would be loud at night but it was quite silent, I definitely can recommend this hotel!!

Er markedsført som et 4* hotell, men rommene er små, dårlig vedlikeholdt og bråkete. Mangler shampoo, balsam, plass til stell på bad, kontakt på badet fungerer ikke. Mangler kabel tv, kjøleskap, strykejern og strykebrett, koffertstativ, puter på rommet. Sengen er hard og består av to små enkeltsenger som står sammen. Bord er veldig lite til å skulle jobbe på. Hotellet har også ikke frokost. De arbeidet på dagtid med å drille i veggen da jeg var der.

Douche niet schoongemaakt door schoonmaakster. Ik had 1 tweepersoonsbed gevraagd en kreeg 2 losse 1 persoonsbed dekbedden te klein. Kamer was koud in de nacht was het niet te doen. Bedden gingen telkens uit elkaar enzovoort. Tegels van badkamer waren erg vies en donker. Douche kop was ook niet schoon. Totaliteit zeer teleurstellend verblijf.
