Delightful and warm staff, excellent accommodations: beautifully appointed bathroom with big fluffy bath sheets and comfortable bathrobes, fabulous rain shower and hand-held showers, top of the line bedding, fabulous rooftop terrace for daytime lounging by plunge pool and sunset or evening relaxation. Lovely restaurant. Great location in Pocitos neighborhood—a few blocks from the wonderful rambla and surrounded by great restaurants. I would not stay anywhere else in Montevideo. The hotel truly deserves its top rating.

The room was exceptionally spotless, with an incredible flare by the interior designer. One quirky item though was the large corner floor model of indirect lighting. It looked like a photographer\"s 48\" high tripod with a 30\" reflective concave dome to provide the full bedroom with lighting. It did not achieve that goal as the room was very dimly lit. The closet area had a drawer fridge and also a drawer safe, which both achieved function and space saving. The gym in the hotel has incredibly innovative fitness equipment that are both high tech and beautiful by design. The roof top bar, like the ground floor dining room uses the interior designers flare for Retro, with extensive use of porcelain, vintage mirrors and woodwork. I highly recommend the Hotel Montevideo, if it is within your budget to spoil yourself a little.

It is a great hotel in the best location of Montevideo. The rooms are nicely decorated, the restaurant and the roof terrace are wonderful. We enjoyed our stay very much. One negative issue is that the hotel is located at a busy street next to a traffic light and at night the sound of the cars and the motorcycles is very load . We needed ear plugs to get a peaceful sleep every night. And the hotel also needs some maintenace (smell of the drain next to the toilet, drain at bathroom sink was clogged, no smart TV).

The only minor critique is that the restaurants seem a little under staffed. All in all, if you can splurge, go for it. It's worth it.

This isn't my first time staying at this hotel.
As I've mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is excellent and offers exquisite service. The reception staff is always attentive and very professional.
I also want to mention Silvia Homad, the housekeeping manager, who is always willing to help and make the stay very pleasant.
The pool, rooftop bar, and cafeteria staff are incredible.

As I've mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is excellent and offers exquisite service. The reception staff is always attentive and very professional.
I also want to mention Silvia Homad, the housekeeping manager, who is always willing to help and make the stay very pleasant.
The pool, rooftop bar, and cafeteria staff are incredible.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Maybe 4 star service elsewhere, but for Montevideo this is definitely the best hotel choice in my opinion. Very charming hotel. The hotel is beautiful and everything works to perfection. The one thing that I think is important for you to know before going is beds are really soft. Like a cocoon. If that's your preference, you will love these beds. But, if you have back pain, check if they have firmer beds.

The property is quietly situated in a residential neighborhood that is a close walk to the beach. We sat out on the balcony having a drink before dinner and the scene reminded me of Europe. The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We dined at the hotel restaurant on consecutive nights and on both occasions we had the pleasure of Nicolaus guiding us through the menu, inserting suggestions of what wine would go best with the desired entre. You cant go wrong with the beef, but an unknown and delight was the local fish called Corovina. Thank you Nicolaus for expanding our taste buds and sharing a local fare that we would have not otherwise tried.

Fantastic, luxury hotel in a great part of Pocitos, for a very fair price! Our room was fantastic and the service was top notch. The hotel location is great, and it blends in well with this very beautiful neighborhood, not dominating it like some typical luxury hotel chains might. We arrived from a very long flight at about 2am and Alexander from the front desk came out to greet us before we even got out of the taxi! We highly recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful hotel — every space was gorgeous from the breakfast room to the bedrooms to the rooftop bar, and we loved every minute of being there. The staff was really lovely, welcoming, friendly, and helpful as well. Only suggestions are to provide robes and slippers in the rooms and better quality toiletries. This quality of hotel around the world does provide those types of amenities. If Hotel Montevideo provides these upon request, that should be stated in the informational blue folder in each room.
