The apartment was very dated and could use some upgrades, especially in the bathroom.
Had great views of the river. Balcony in bedroom and open terrace off living room was a plus. Staff was not very friendly but not rude. Possible language barrier. One would hope that for future reference, if you intend to rent to international audiences, most of the staff should be trained in the universal language- English.

The staff was GREAT! Check-in & Check out was a breeze. The hotel doesn't really look like the pictures on the site. Needs some work to be honest. We had 2 rooms and the AC and fridge in 1 of the rooms was really really loud. The other room had its issues as well. We paid for the breakfast for 3 days and to be honest it was more of a hassle than anything else. The first day we (along with other guests) waited for over 15 minutes for plates and cups to be brought out because the ones they had run out. The dining room staff (not all of them) was quite...bothered when asked several times about plates, cups, etc as well as replenishing of food items that had already run out and it was a Saturday at 9am...still 2 hours left for the breakfast round to be over.

Nos alojamos en una habitación grande con un balcón enorme, muy disfrutable en los días templados de otoño; la limpieza excelente, la atención excelente. La ubicación es perfecta, en uno de los mejores lugares de Montevideo. Como el hotel es un poco viejo no esperábamos tan buena relación precio-calidad.

The hotel is in a great location. The property is qui ye ran down. The shower is tiny and i almost didn’t fit inside it, plus it has an old school shower curtain that would adhere to my shoulders and legs all the time.
The towels were tiny, paper thing, felt like sand paper, and were very worn out.
The pillows seems like they were taken from a hospital and so did the sheets.
My stay was alright but i would not stay here again

The room itself was good in that it had a nice size and a little kitchenette. However, there was an awful sewage smell that emitted from the sink in the kitchenette. Also, food smell would flood the room, but it made no sense because we were on floor 9. Also, the curtains didn't shut well so the room was flooded with light by 5am, making it impossible to sleep. The garage was so tight that a normal sedan could hardly maneuver- each time in and out was a trial by fire to see if we didn't crash into a post or another car. Had a single car been located in one of the spots, we would have been trapped forever. So be careful unless you have a smart car. The location was very nice, though.

Staff at check in was very nasty , the hotel is old and bad conditions very noise and the elevator makes noice all nite . You pay parking and there is no way to turn around underground garage only for 12 cars very narrow. I will not recommend this hotel for Expedia

Pros: The location for the property is great. The ocean is a very short walk away and you can see it from some of the rooms. The neighborhood the hotel is located in felt very safe and there are several restaurants nearby. The breakfast was included at my room rate and provided plenty of food. The staff printed my COVID test results for me before my departure.
Cons: The hotel staff approached me at the front desk with a plastic bag of towels and requested that I pay for them because they had makeup on them. I have never had this happen at any hotel I've ever stayed in. I did wash my face with one of the towels and it did have makeup on it, but before trying to clean it, they asked me to pay for it and the other towels from my room. I did pay for them ($40USD) just to keep the peace since this was early on in my stay, but I washed them as soon as I got back home and the one with makeup on it came clean with no problem after 1 wash with no pre-treatment or anything special. They approached me in front of my business partner and other guests with this bag of towels. I would encourage the staff to try washing something first before you approach a guest and also to think about the way you approach the guest. This left a negative impression and I will chose another hotel during my next business trip. English proficiency was limited so something for foreign visitors to consider. Housekeeping very lightly cleans during your stay so don't expect a perfectly clean room.

I liked friendly helpful staff, on reception and elsewhere. The rooms are quite large with a small kitchen unit, great for making afternoon tea. Breakfast was plentiful, but no cooked options. There are a couple of tables on the patio garden, nice to sit here and eat breakfast. The room could do with a bit of updating, and the view at the rear is just the rear of other flats (floors 9 and below). There is only one lift which means a bit of a wait sometimes. Good value budget choice.

An apartment is great when staying several days - small kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle, cutlery and crockery - extra room to move around and and for luggage. Basic furniture but all clean, bed comfortable. TV gave us CNN and the occasional movie in English. Small balcony with 2 chairs (1 is about to break through), but fine if you are a smoker. Breakfast was adequate - bread, rolls, croissants, cheese, ham, cornflakes, fresh fruit, jugs of yoghurt and fresh orange juice, coffee etc - but don’t expect eggs or hot food.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends

Apart-hotel half block from Pocitos Beach.

Spent three weeks in Montevideo, Uruguay enjoying the cows, grapes (steaks and wines) and beaches. A fun, safe environment with a California climate and many outdoor activities. You can run, bike, blade, skate board or just walk the Rambla (coastal road/sidewalk) with the locals.

In Montevideo for 2 short nights and hotel was perfectly adequate for short stay. In Los Pocitos area, some good restaurants and bars in the area, lovely beach, very quiet and pretty cold tho in May! Hotel is older and bit more dated on inside than it appears on outside. Room was more apartment orientated than a usual hotel with a small kitchenette, table and some chairs. Room had floor to ceiling patio doors leading to large balcony above front of hotel, no chairs or table on balcony tho but its not a place or view you'd really miss it. Breakfast was pastries, ham, cheese the usual fare, couldn't fault it. The usual Front reception guy very helpful with perfect English. Would happily stay here again, fantastic hotel and location for price.

Hotel have spacious rooms, bathroom is too tiny and the water in the shower does not flow too strong. For the price and location is unbeatable.

Modern at the right price.

Though a bit away from the city centre, nothing is really far in Montevideo it is a small city (by car roughly 15min). The hotel is modern, breakfast adequate, the staff were welcoming and the wifi worked even on the top floor. The neighbourhood is more residential, but it is quiet and there are several restaurants within walking distance.
For business it is a good location as you are midway between the world trade centre and the port/old central business district.

We were upgraded to a nice room with a large balcony and a great view. The area is very nice and my favorite in the city. Small elevator which will close on you and leave you separated from your wife even after trying to prop the door open. The breakfast is nice but not my favorite hotel breakfast. The hotel is a nice value and on a beautiful street.

I have stayed at this hotel before in 2007-2008. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. It would be a nice addition to have bottled waters in the rooms. The breakfast is great. I will stay here again.

fare price for the overall services and location

The surroundings are nice and it is a pleasure to walk on the \"Rambla de Pocitos and Trouville\". The breakfast is good with a selection for people with special dietary needs. The rooms are fine for the type of hotel and clean; efficient bathroom, a little small if there are two people in the room. The balcony is beautiful but no privacy. The only con is that the front door does not isolate from outside noise or conversations. Personel are knowledgeable and can solve most of your problems or needs. Overall a good experience and a fare price. .

The continental breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty. The hotel is in a good location, walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

We keep coming back...

This was our third stay at Punta Trouville, because we have been very pleased with the accommodations which are not particularly fancy or spacious, but certainly comfortable. First of all, the location is perfect -- close to the Rambla, Pocitos, and Punta Carretas -- so restaurants and services as well as the sea are within easy walking distance. The staff have always been helpful. The buffet breakfast, while the same each day, is quite ample with a wide variety of choices.

Great hotel in a nice part of Montevideo

Punta Trouville Apart is a great hotel in a very nice suburb in Montevideo. Much nicer than staying in the centre and only a short bus trip away. It's a similar neighbourhood to Palermo in Buenos Aires - nice restaurants nearby. Great breakfast, especially after the typical continental breakfasts we were getting in Argentina. I recommend parilla Lobo, 2/3 blocks from the hotel. Great meat!

Quanto aos funcionários só tenho elogios.
A acomodação deixou a desejar pois o banheiro era muito pequeno e a box tinha medidas muito pequenas e me batia nas paredes ao tomar banho.
Eu já me hospedei no hotel 3 vezes e dessa vez não foi possível tomar o café oferecido na diária.
Pão velho é requentado, café e leite frios. Os frios servidos estavam com aparência de velhos e queimados pelo frio da geladeira.

O hotel está em decadência. Serviços de arrumação e limpeza muito deficientes, omisso por dias. As facilidades do hotel são poucas, sem itens de suprimento emergentes. O ambiente de café da manhã é modesto e pouco organizado, sem muita variedade. O elevador é insuficiente ao fluxo, embora autorizem o uso do elevador do prédio vizinho, porém restrito. as habitações possuem copa e varanda, mas de pouca utilidade e mal conservadas. O hotel não merece a atual classificação.

A localização é ótima, o quarto é bem amplo e tem funcionalidades como frigobar, micro-ondas e pia de cozinha. O banheiro pode melhorar muito, além de velho, não tem espaço para colocar as coisas, pia muito pequena. O box é fechado com cortina de plástico, o que é horrível e não tem nenhum espaço para colocar shampoo e sabonete.

Puntos a favor: el personal fue muy amable y servicial, la habitación tenía aire acondicionado, estaba cerca de varias farmacias, sitios de comida y playa pocitos. Puntos a mejorar: la regadera es un poco pequeña, las almohadas no eran muy cómodas, no hay una rampa en la entrada para pasar con las maletas. Las camas realmente eran dos colchones pegados.
