Our base for a week

We stayed in Montevideo for a week as part of a longer vacation. This hotel is close to shopping, dining, and the beach. Everything about the hotel was excellent. You don’t need a car as Uber is readily available and reasonably priced. Even though this is an upscale neighborhood, you do need to be cautious.

It is a nice hotel. rooms are OK, with good shower, a fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, coffee/tea in room, etc. Parking garage is safe although a little bit different. Need to get to the parking spot by an elevator, but worked well and it is safe. One block from a shopping mall, and many shopping stores and restaurants close by. Only complain I have is that there was a package delivered to the front desk the eve before check out but I was not informed of it and it was left in the hotel. I could not retrieve it since I checked out in the morning and left the country. Very disappointing!!!!

The room is super small so if you have two suitcases it’s hard to move around.
Nice hot water running.
Breakfast is quite complete.
Overall for a two night stay it was ok, especially the location close to the Punta Carretas shopping center.

1) an alarm in the corridor went off at midnight; even though I called the receptionist, nobody came to check it out... I had to go out of my room and turn it off myself.
2) the receptionist both at ck in and ck out were unprofessional and not courteous
3) no double room with two beds available (as requested on the reservation)
4) overall the hotel does not deliver as expected

When we arrived it was a little late and they did not have my room of 2 beds, was a traveling with companion that we need 2 beds...no problem they put us up in 2 rooms and then changed room the next day.....very friendly and helpful especially I speak very little Spanish but they spoke enough english to get us by...highly recommend this place

Everything was fine, except that when I was checking out and in a hurry to get to the airport, the person at the reception desk insisted that I had not paid and needed to give her my credit card to pay. My booking was already paid through hotels.com. If I had not refused to hand over my credit card they would have charged me twice.

Decent place to stay.

Decent hotel, a block away from the shopping center and a short walk to the river walk. I liked that there were places to eat and drink relatively close. Take into consideration that the breakfast is what is normally eaten in that country which is mainly sweet breads, cheese and ham. The staff was also nice but I do wish the mattresses in the rooms were replaced as I thought they were a little too soft.

Nice hotel in a safe area, close to Mall, restaurants and La Rambla.
The building is not new, but it is in a ver good condition, the staff is very nice and friendly and the food is good.
The only thing I would suggest is to better equip the gym, it is only a cardio room.

Well maintained hotel in good location

I found this hotel to have everything I expected. It has a small lobby and restaurant/cafeteria with breakfast included. The room was nice enough, very clean. No view from my room and the wifi signal was very weak. It had a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and sink. The hotel also has parking available but it is so small that we decided to leave our rental car on the street. The staff was fine overall, except for the breakfast waitress who was quite rude. I would go back hoping that they improve their wifi signal.

This is not a four stars hotel

We expected to find a gym and jacuzzi according with the data available on line but the jacuzzi was out of service, the gym is just a tiny room with two running machines. The whole hotel is small so the rooms.

Plus: Nice hotel, rooms are on the small side, but have everything you need. Minus: There is an annoying netflix sticker on the tv screen. Breakfast was pretty disorganized, tables were not reset and also not cleared completely, fruit was from a can, for a four star hotel the breakfast is not really up to standard.

The location is great, close to the Punta Carretas Shopping Mall and only few blocks from the beach. Its located close to various nice restaurants. The rooms are specious, bathroom is nice although a little small. A great breakfast awaits you in the morning. The breakfast facilities are fair. Free parking is available at the hotel in the basement or few blocks from the hotel. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Its a good place to stay.

Boutique Hotel:Helpful Staff, Lacked Luggage Space

This is a small boutique hotel in Punta Carretas area of Montevideo-nice area. The front façade of hotel has been remodeled to look contemporary but little else. Original rooms must have been updated, but extremely small closet, very little room for storage/luggage. Had hideaway bar/coffee area, which was not needed as breakfast is included---would have preferred more closet space. The below ground breakfast area was OK, but food selection was not appealing. Very small lobby area, only one couch. Very small garage, only small cars fit into elevator that takes you down into parking garage. Bright spot: Helpful staff member named Ruben. Gave us great dining recommendations and assisted us with Internet issues.

The transport which I had prearranged through the hotel (US$40) did not arrive until after a phone call reminder. Finally an old van turned up about an hour and a half later.
I had booked a 'Deluxe Room with a Garden View'. I was surprised to be show to a room no bigger than a postage stamp and certainly with no garden view. When I queried this, I was informed that 'garden view' was just the name given to the rooms and did not mean that the room would have a view of the garden. Really? I protested about the room and was shown to a much larger room. (As a mature aged female travelling alone, I've found that hotels frequently try and palm me off with their worst room and I'm getting pretty annoyed about this).
The day blinds were both very stained all down the front and when I had trouble operating the night blinds (there was a design fault which required you to be at least 2 metres tall to be able to operate them) I was told that I would need to stand on top of the furniture to pull the blinds down. Really? This is supposed to be a four star hotel (not).

The staff was great. They were very polite and helpful.
Breakfast buffet was very good. Just a minor comment: only orange juice was offered. Other fruit juice such as apple juice would be great.
Hotel localization is very good. Next to Puerto Carreras shopping. Buses to Montevideo downtown is also next.
Remember during reservation to mention if you do not want room for smokers. We forgot to mention. But hotel staff has made the necessary arrangements and put us in a non smoke room. Great.

We loved this hotel and recommend it.

The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. There was a microwave and refrigerator included in a hideaway kitchen area. The wifi connection was excellent and so was TV reception. You have complete control over room temperature. The hotel is very modern and new-looking; the lobby, hallways, restaurant, etc. are bright, clean, and attractive.

The staff was always friendly and helpful, and could speak English. An example of their service: although the hotel's informational brochure says laundered items are returned in 24 hours, when I asked to get them back sooner they said no problem and returned them to me in about four hours with no extra charge. When checking out I asked about getting a cab and the desk clerk ordered one immediately; it pulled up before we even walked out the door.

The free breakfast was delicious and included scrambled eggs, bacon, cold cuts, various fruits, medialunas, other rolls and breads, orange juice, coffee, and quite a few other things I don't remember: a nice, varied selection.

We found the location just about perfect. It's on a commercial and residential street about a block from the pleasant and upscale Punta Carretas shopping mall. There are various coffee shops and restaurants in the mall and in the neighborhood. The area is very safe. There are ATMs in the mall with a security guard posted nearby. The Rambla is two or three blocks away.

NICE LOCATION BUT VERY SMALL ROOMS

I booked this hotel for 4 nights, but i left after first night. The hotel location is good but the rooms are very small. I didnt feel comfortable at all in the room. There was very less space in the room, only one window which you can't open as it only gives a view of the wall of the next building which is very close. The breakfast is very basic. Restaurant is small. I don't know why they charge $125 per night. It should not be more than $80. I change in to another Hotel Four Points Sheraton at the same price $125 with much better rooms and facilities.

A raining time in Montevideo

Unfortunately my stay was moré than shine but this, was not the Hotel's fault.
Otherwise, i visites the City several times and I will return.
There is a very pleasant Mall that kills my time during the down time.

We stayed for 2 weeks, it would have been good to see some different items every few days - pancakes, fried eggs.. Overall a pleasant stay

It was the perfect choice for me: not too fancy, but clean and had all the basics. Staff was great and the location was close to lots of things: the shopping mall, short walk to the beach, central for buses. Recommended for those not hung up on 5-star treatment, but don't want to worry about anything.

From the pics, you might think you would be overlooking (or even staying at) the golf course - a bit misleading. However, it is a good little hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is very good with a lot of variety, although the dining area is a bit small when the hotel is full. Housekeeping is not that great with not much attention to detail. The rooms had a slightly dampish odor but this was probably due to the torrential rain on one day. All-in-all, very good value.

A good place to stay

Having been to Argentina a few times, staying at different hotels, Regency golf may be one of the better ones. Certainly price and location considered.

It's very near a mall which makes food and shopping very simple while early walks and runs along the seawall within minutes of the hotel.

Don't expect too much nor the best of rooms but if you aren't stuck on the first floor. Everything pretty up to par.

Good Option in close by the River

The hotel is very good for it's price (value for money). The location is good and also the breakfast was amazing! The only pointer I'd make is about it's car parking, which is very restricted (a bigger car or SUV wouldn't fit and it's very hard to maneuver inside out. The car park lift is very small. Other than that, the place is nice and staff very helpful!

Hotel was in a great location - Punta Carretas, with a large shopping mall, restaurants and laundry service 2 blocks away. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms were a decent size, clean and modern. They have underground parking for about 5 cars but it not easy parking in there, extremely tight. You can park on the street as well. I would not recommend getting a massage as the lady was not very good. We really enjoyed staying here and will gladly do so again.
