The hotel is correct, felt a bit unfinished, specially basement parking. More similar to an apart hotel, then a hotel, but room was big an confortable. Very clean and neat. Great bed.

We stayed one night because we were moving into our new home, just around the block. First impressions matter: we arrived late at night, exhausted from a very long flight. We had a lot of luggage. No luggage carts to haul it inside the building and of course, no doorman. So, the very nice evening concierge helped us. To us, no carts is something bewildering.
We wanted to take a shower that night, but there were just 2 bath towels in the bathroom, so we waited until the next AM. Lastly: Shower had black fungus all around it. Now, I live in UY, and know this can happen due to the high humidity of the local weather. But, one has to constantly fight it. It is unacceptable in a hotel of this rating. Period. Plus, the room was dusty. Someone should check every day that the cleaning is done properly.

Finally, another unacceptable thing happened. We went to have breakfast and were reminded of its closing time at least 45 minutes before by the woman in charge of that area. I find this rude. We felt we were being kicked out. We did not complain because we had already done so regarding the above mentioned details and we did not wish to be a pest.

This is an excellent option for business trips. I strongly recommend arriving early for breakfast, because the restaurant area is quite small and can get packed quickly. As an Expedia member, they pampered me very well with a nice room. The only issue is that the window next to the bathroom doesn't close fully.

I travel a lot but don’t write reviews often.
I thought this hotel deserves one.
I have found the combination of hotel service, room quality and friendliness of the staff to be uniquely well orchestrated.
The room was excellent and the staff attended to any special requests I made without any delay. They were amazing.
I highly recommend this hotel and would return when I visit Uruguay again.

For the price and supposed 4* rating, this property was not good. If it was MUCH cheaper and 3*, I could consider it a good property.

Good: Rooms were large and beds were very big and comfy. Everything clean. Didn’t like that my window looked straight into another guests room but I guess that's just bad luck. Staff were nice and helpful.

Bad: the pool is tiny (ok) with only 4 very old wooden sunbeds of which 3 were broken. None had cushions. No towels or attended bar to get drinks. Pool itself was not very clean and some of the pool lights were hanging off the walls.

Bad: Each time I arrived for breakfast (30mins before breakfast service finishes), they had run out of almost everything and I would have to ask to make me more specially.

The hotel needs a major restoration - our room had stains from previous water damage, mold in the shower, cracked mirror in bathroom, a USB “outlet” with no USB plug actually installed, cracked headboard on the bed, and plenty of scuffs and marks along furniture.

Uno de los mejores hoteles donde me he hospedado en Montevideo. Mi habitación era una junior suite con una pequeña kitchinette y dos cuartos por separado, muy cómodo para tener un espacio para trabajar y otro para descansar. El baño amplio, excelente presión de agua en la ducha, varios detalles de cuidado al huésped como crema para el cuerpo, shampoo, crema de enguaje e incluso algodón e hisopos para quitar el maquillaje. El secador de pelo tiene también buena potencia.
La cama es muy cómoda, y como el barrio es muy tranquilo, hay bastante silencio para descansar.
Una de las mejores cosas que tiene el hotel es la ubicación. A 3 cuadras del Shopping Punta Carretas, lleno de tiendas, con salas de cine, y con un supermercado Fresh Market donde venden comida hecha muy saludable.
Punta Carretas está lleno de restaurantes y cafés. A solo 3 cuadras a la redonda hay muy buenas opciones a las que se suman, para algo rápido y al paso, también el patio de comidas del shopping.
Leí críticas sobre el desayuno, pero me pareció que estaba muy bien. El café lo preparan en el momento, se pueden pedir huevos revueltos (incluidos en el valor), y par aun desayuno continental está bien, con tostadas y variedad de cosas dulces, incluyendo frutas, jugos y cereales.
También leí que el agua sale de la ducha. En mi cuarto eso no pasaba. Sí quizá salpicó un poco, pero fue algo mínimo.
Tuve una muy buena esta. Sin dudas, volvería a quedarme en este hotel.

The staff is very nice EXCEPT the blond girls with light eyes that is in the front desk she is extremely rude, lack of customer srvice. The bathroom is too small and uncomfortable, the is no soundproof in the building, breakfast is very basic. The location is excellent, but we wouldn’t stay here again.

Nicely decorated and well located, in a silent street with ample street parking. Ideal for a short stay. The only thing that doesn’t work very well is the bathroom if you are sharing the room with someone you’re not very close too. It’s separated from the rest of the space by glass and also there’s a glass pane in the shower that is not large enough to keep Everything from getting wet.

The location is good and in a nice neighbourhood. Staff are very friendly. We chose this hotel for the pool and terrace which looked nice in Expedia images but this was closed as it wasn’t summer, seriously in 29/30 degree heat 16 November. Expedia also sent VIP amenities which weren’t redeemable as this was a B&B property only?!

We are so glad we picked this location instead of the main town of Montevideo. Shopping mall 5mins walk and the Rambla at the bottom of the road which is a beautiful walk during the day or at night. Sightseeing bus stop at mall too which is very handy. We had a very windy night during our stay, the wind howled through the door of our room and windows. Constant banging of something outside too, awful nights sleep. Breakfast wasn’t good, nobody mentioned we could get eggs, realised on last day when we noticed someone else had ordered them! Not a very good variety for breakfast.

Wonderful Stay at the Own Montevideo

I had a most enjoyable nine night stay at the Own Montevideo. The hotel was faultless. The room was clean, bright and airy on the 8th floor with a nice view over Punta Carretas and the River Plate. The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of fruit, breads and pastries. They made nice omelettes on request. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, especially Freddy on the front desk. The hotel is located in an excellent area, close to the rambla and golf course. It's about a one hour walk to the Centro. They are many good restaurants close (Bar Tabare, La Perdiz and El Fogon) and the excellent Punta Carretas shopping mall. Also a big supermarket next to the mall. I will definitely return to Montevideo and stay in the Own Hotel.

Small hotel in a quiet neighborhood. The room conditions were fair. Windows do not lock shut, curtains and blackout do not close. It lacks maintenance. Good bed, sheets, closet space. Very small bathroom, with little room for toilet and bidet. Shower water does not evacuate quickly. Breakfast buffet was reasonably set.

The hotel is very basic but OK. Well located next to the shopping center and near Rambla.
It’s an Expedía VIP hotel but declined upgrade at check in even though the Expedia App showed availability for the same stay.

The hotel is in a great area. Close to the shopping mall, walking distance to the ocean. Across the street are some great restaurants.
Hotel supplies a very decent breakfast as well.
We gas some minor problem and hotel staff addressed the problem immediately to our full satisfaction.
Park g on the street is free but driving is rather challenging

The hotel is in a nice location but our stay was quite disappointing. Our room had a great view but the bed was not a king size as promised but still comfortable. However the aircon was completely dirty and was noisy the whole night. The sheets were dirty with black stains and the pillow case had stains that look like blood. Totally disgusting! Also the lights coming from the window in front of the bathroom, where there is not any curtains were annoying. We told the manager about those issues and the sheets were changed and the aircon cleaned- but it was still doing the noise... Not as before but still. On our last night after a long day in a day tour we got stuck in the lift for half hour. We went mad cause nobody from reception came straighway to help, it took a while. Later on we notice the guy was probably embarassing as they knew we were very angry and frustrated. The staff is nice and also the brekkie but we do not recommend this place and we are not going back due to all those issues mentioned. Not a good value for money when it says it's a great place but needs to improve a lot.

Nice little hotel in a great, safe area. Just a few minutes away from the mall and some great views of the ocean. The rooms are a nice size, only three per floor. Relatively clean, the floors were a bit dirty with other guests hairs and linens had some stains on them. The shower was incredibly annoying like most with only half a glass partition and no door, so the bathroom floods and there's not enough towels to help clean up.
Windows don't block much noise, a dog outside woke me up every morning and I was on the 6th floor. Staff were all very kind and spoke good English. Solid 3 to 3.5 star hotel.

We had a king deluxe room for our 8 night stay at Own. It's located on a quiet street, within walking distance to the Rambla and Punta Carretas shopping mall. The room had a sitting area, kitchenette and separate bedroom with king bed. The bathroom was tight ( room for one person) and had a great rain shower. The decor was done in grays, could use some color to brighten up the space. The included breakfast had fresh fruit, assorted pastries and breads and made to order egg dishes. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel building is between two apartment buildings and does not have a spacious feel to it. Everything is very new, clean but compact. I would recommend getting the deluxe room for the extra space.

After staying at their sister (?) hotel in Buenos Aires and being impressed, I was blown away by this place. The staff at check-in were wonderful, and the breakfast is expansive. I sprung for the room with a balcony and it was well worth it. The room itself was modern, well maintained and clean. I could not have imagined a better room for the price that I paid. Would absolutely stay again if I return to Montevideo. I couldn't ever remember what the place was called and before I arrived kept thinking it was \"Wow Hotel\"; this would be an equally fitting name.

Nice hotel, in a great location

It's located at walking distance of a good shopping center. In a quiet area with all the charm of a \"barrio\".
Staff are nice, professional. Very helpful too.
Rooms are spacious, with the living room separated from the room.
They include a Kitchenette.

Breakfast is very good, with all areas covered (bakery, fruits, cheeses, sweets, juices and dairy products)

Bathroom is clean and small. Maybe the weak point. The toilette had some blockage, so passengers should avoid discarding toilette paper in it.
We had that issue, which was solved promptly by the staff.

But we were told by one of them that the constructor had used bad quality pipes, so that is a constant issue.

In summary, highly recommended hotel, in a good location, at an affordable price, with a minor issue with the bathroom.

Nice, cozy and stylish new hotel in Montevideo!

This was a really nice, cozy (and apparently new) hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and spoke pretty good English. My room in particular was very comfortable. The only exception is that because it was winter and it was a little cold, I had to turn up the heat to the maximum setting several times to stay warm. The hotel is very close to the Rambla, but not near Ciudad Vieja -- you'll need to take a taxi or car, which is 10-15 minutes away.

Also, mind that the items at the minibar are not free!
