Everything about this resort was amazing the staff was very attentive and the food was amazing. The only complaint I had was the barefoot grill was lackluster and the food made my wife and I sick. All the other restaurants were great along with the buffets.

Maybe I should preface this by saying I don’t usually do resorts. But this stay made me realize I never want to again. The check in process was excruciatingly long. I was tired and jet lagged and asked repeatedly to just get to my room and they kept asking to sign me up for events for discounts. I just wanted to lay down. While I was there I was harassed when I was at the pool by staff about my room number and my last name. Then to confirm my room number and confirm my last name. I just told you. I then watched the staff members walk around the resort and not ask anyone else for that information. I saw them later and asked them why I was asked and they said they asked everyone. I didn’t see that at all. Bartenders were great. Maids a turndown service was great. So many rules, maybe if you don’t plan on leaving the resort this would be a good stay. I left every night to explore and getting in and out is such a pain. Checking out is a pain. You need a ticket to give to a cab driver to prove you checked out. Just way too much. Again I’m not a resort kind of person. If you are maybe you’ll enjoy this one. It’s not for me.

I had an amazing stay here، and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The resort is beautifully maintained-clean, organized, and very well taken care of. The staff are incredibly friendly, kind, and always helpful, with fast and impressive service.

The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are large.

The restaurants offer a good variety, and we enjoyed most of what we tried. The 24-hour coffee shop was a highlight.

The pools are clean, well-maintained, and never feel overcrowded.

A special mention to the entertainment team—they were welcoming and added so much fun to our stay. We especially want to thank Jhonny, who taught us how to make bracelets, and we also enjoyed a painting session.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including yoga, ceramics, dancing, and a fun foam party.

The beach requires a short shuttle ride, but honestly, that turned out to be part of the charm. I didn’t expect to enjoy the ride as much as I did—it added a unique touch to the experience. The beach itself is in a great location, clean, and offers excellent service.

The beach area is near local shops and a street full of stores, so we could easily go out, walk around, explore, and come back without going far.

The resort and beach are also stunning for photos—every corner is beautiful.

I want to emphasize again how exceptional all the staff were—their kindness and service truly went above and beyond.

1. This is a COUPLES resort…heavy on the couples. If you’re not comfortable being by yourself, it might hit different. I did meet some people and hung out with them here and there.

2. You don’t have to leave at all there are multiple pools, 5–6 restaurants, everything is right there.

3. It’s not on the beach, BUT the shuttle is a whole vibe and the beach club is 10/10—pools, cabanas, food, drinks, and great service. There’s no extra cost.

4. Food was solid. Tried most of the restaurants, no real complaints.

5. The BED?! Top 3 best sleep I’ve had. No exaggeration. I was knocked out!

6. Preferred Club = worth it. Concierge checked on me daily, handled little things (even my lost key), and the preferred pool is super chill + luxe.

7. This is NOT a party resort. It’s calm, quiet, and relaxing. Also not crowded so there’s no fighting for chairs, cabanas always available.

8. They do have activities all day + night like the silent party, shows, painting, water aerobics, etc. So it’s not boring at all, just chill fun.

9. The spa?! I did the “Imagine” package: hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge + a 50 min massage, 30 min facial, 30 min foot treatment… WORTH IT

Overall… would I come back? Yes. But next time… I’m pulling up with a man! lol

Beach is like 15 min away from the resort, but they have a shuttle every 30-45 min

If you are a vip member they will try to sell you a membership and ask for 90 minutes of your time and will give you a $350 voucher. Please be aware this is a sales pitch and will take way longer than 90min. If you aren’t interested my recommendation is to skip!

It’s a trap. Nice resort, but some of the staff were very rude. I’d much rather have to pay for my food and drink in exchange for a pleasant server.
The steak house was the worst steak I’ve had in Mexico, tasted like soot/gas, couldn’t even eat it.
The Grotto is the only place with ok food and great service. Great for people who don’t want a Mexican experience. Zero authenticity. They try to sell you everything under the sun- friends fell for their ‘free breakfast’ at their sister resort- it was a 4 hour nightmare, pushing there Hyatt membership on them? They asked to leave 6 times, after saying no to 6 different sales staff, they begged to go back to the resort amd were finally brought back.

The hotel knew it was my birthday, yet the birthday banner wasn’t placed on my door until the day before we left, which felt like an afterthought.

As Preferred guests, we also expected a smoother checkout, but it took over 20 minutes because they were short-staffed. That was disappointing considering the “Preferred” status.

Also be careful not to leave anything behind in your room. My boyfriend accidentally left his Beats headphones, and when we contacted the hotel less than an hour later, they claimed he must have “misplaced” them. It felt like they were simply washing their hands of the situation and taking no responsibility. Given how quickly we contacted them, it’s hard to believe they were just misplaced and it strongly suggests someone on staff kept them.

Overall, very disappointing. We travel often throughout the Riviera Maya and expected much better from this property.

We just checked out today and wanted to give a review, especially after seeing lot of negative reviews. We were contemplating cancelling but decided to come anyways

1) Room service in building 3: after seeing all the terrible reviews, our experience was opposite! When we first checked in and they told us we were in building 3, we thought oh great, here we go. Nope - we ordered room service multiple times through the app, and we always got it ahead of schedule! We ordered at peak times too

2) Theft: We left all our electronics out in the room and had our passports and money and wallet in the safe at all times and had nothing stolen

3) I can’t even tell you how amazing the food was - Jasmine was our favourite, both for the preferred breakfast and supper! We didn’t get sick once and couldn’t believe how amazing the food was

4) We were hearing from others who were in building 1 that they kept getting notes under their door and hounded for the timeshare presentation, but we were in building 3 - they asked us once at check in, we said no, and was never asked again. Nothing under our door.

At one point our door didn’t close all the way, so it was slightly opened and we immediately received a courtesy call letting us know. If we didn’t answer, they assumed we were out of the room and were going to close it for us. We were on our way out anyways and when we left, the guard was standing outside our room. Top tier service!

Our stay at this resort was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. The property is stunning, the rooms are beautifully maintained, and the level of service truly feels five-star. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay memorable. We were even welcomed with a lovely bottle of champagne waiting in our room, which was such a thoughtful and luxurious touch that immediately set the tone for the trip. A very important suggestion would be to offer traditional Mexican food. Other than that, everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Came here for valentines weekend
Pros:
1- delicious appetizers at jasmine and entrees at portofino.
2- welcomed us with a bottle of champagne
3- gave us a beach bag
4- cold room, good Ac.
5- they pick up and drop off luggage straight to our room.
Cons:
1- when we first arrived, the representative offered us a brunch said if we went we would get three days two nights for free. The following day we went to the brunch and come to find out, there was a 90 minute presentation for a timeshare. I told the representative to take me back to my hotel. I wasn’t gonna be wasting 90 minutes of my vacation on a timeshare presentation that I knew I was not going to be interested in purchasing. I had already wasted 40 min of my day to and from the secondary hotel.
2- I ordered more toilet paper to our room and took 50 darn minutes to get it.
3- we also ordered room service and the food was mildly warm to cold. They do not have microwaves in the rooms so we just had to eat it cold.
4- we asked for our room to be cleaned while we were away when we got back to our room. It had not been cleaned yet. we left once again and finally once we were back, they had cleaned it. I feel like they took too long.
5- the food at blue water was not good at all
6- all pools close early at 6pm???
7- the buffet hours are limited. breakfast and lunch end so early. They lack variety and what they did have wasn’t that great
8- The lighting was so bright at portofino
9- the beach club water pool was freezing cold.

secrets Tulum is a beautiful resort. Really enjoyed the beach club. If you have trouble walking, there are lots of steps! Rooms were very nice; housekeeping did a nice job. The employees were some of the friendliest people around! The food was just OK. I expected better from a secrets, but it was just ok. Spa service was very good; Irene gave me a wonderful massage!

We had a fantastic stay at Secrets Tulum Resort. The resort was spotless, and the cleaning staff did an exceptional job throughout our visit. Frida, our wonderful concierge, truly made our stay extra special — she went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The amenities were excellent, especially the gym and the variety of pools. We also really appreciated the shuttle service to the sister beach resort, which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the beach as well. We would highly recommend Secrets Tulum Resort.

The staff was friendly but there was lots of inconsistency in the quality of service and food. Some times the steaks are good, other times they’re a sad grey mess. Sometimes the wait staff was Johnny on the spot and other times they’d disappear for 20 minutes at a time.

This was our first time in Mexico and at an all inclusive resort. If I had to sum it up, there is a facade of luxury built on cheap underpinnings. However, this may be a problem with most resorts in Mexico.

Cheap construction of the resort and inconsistent service and food quality left us wanting more. I can see the potential and the appeal but won’t be staying here again. We’ll give Secrets another chance, but at one of their higher rated and larger resorts.

Secrets Tulum is now my favourite all inclusive. The service was top notch the rooms and pools were beautiful and well kept. Every room had a view of a pool area. Food was the best all inclusive food I’ve ever had. I love that they offer transit to the beach area (because if you go to Tulum, you have to experience the boho beach vibe.) My only wish is that they had the transit go later in the evening.

Listen….. I’ve stayed at a few Secrets (and hotels related to the brand) over the past few years, and I’d have to say that THIS was probably BY FAR THE BEST Secrets I’ve stayed in. From arrival…to check in…to being upgraded at no cost…to having your own concierge that makes sure you’re okay and keeps you up to date with the daily activities…to the rooms….to the restaurants/food options…the spa…the beach club…ALL OF IT! Top tier!!! I was sad to return back to reality after having such a great NYE vacation. I would stay here again if I ever come back to Tulum! Thank you to all the staff for your professionalism and hospitality!

Title: Beautiful resort and amazing staff, but a few setbacks.

Trip: 12/14/25 to 12/21/25

We had a great stay at Secrets Tulum! The hotel is stunning and the rooms are spectacular. A huge thank you to Julian at the lobby bar and Aurora—they were both absolutely amazing and made our trip special.
A few things kept this from being a 5-star experience:
* Dining: I got food poisoning after eating the octopus at the Bluewater Grill outdoor restaurant and lost a full day of my vacation. Thankfully, the local pharmacy helped me recover quickly by providing a prescription.
* The Beach Club: It is much further away than advertised. While beautiful, the service there wasn't as friendly as the main hotel, particularly the bartender.
* Amenities: We were surprised that bathrobes weren't included in the room, even though slippers were provided.
Overall, a beautiful resort that I would recommend, but there is room for improvement regarding food safety and beach club service.

The stay was good overall. Service was good for an all inclusive, and the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The property was nice, although the limited dining options on the Casa Zamna beach side meant only one restaurant, and the food was okay but nothing standout.

During my stay, I called for an IV service from an outside provider. The handling of this request was concerning. I was initially told there was an access fee for them to come. After I pushed back and explained the provider had serviced the hotel many times, the fee was suddenly dropped and I was told it was okay for them to come. About 30 minutes later, that approval was reversed and I was told I had to cancel the service entirely. The way the fee appeared and disappeared, followed by a last-minute denial, made the situation feel uncomfortable and raised concerns about whether the charge was legitimate or policy-based.

Pools close super early (6pm) no 24hours bar, lounge, restaurant etc. Also property is not on the beach and shuttle services end early. About a 20-25minute shuttle ride to beach area.

There was literally better massage options outside the property with more options and 1/3 of the price. They had tons of pools which was great but not one single hot tub. We stayed in the Preferred Club Rooftop Master Suite with Plunge Pool, and it was truly incredible. The room was stunning, and the private rooftop with the plunge pool was such a beautiful, relaxing space — it felt so luxurious and peaceful.

We spent time at the beach club, which was stunning! The beach is gorgeous, with soft sand and fun waves — the perfect combination for both relaxing and enjoying the water.

The food was outstanding everywhere we ate. Every meal was delicious, and they even had an asado one night which was so fun!

What really stood out, though, was the staff. The bartenders and servers throughout the resort were incredibly kind, funny, and attentive — always making sure everyone was having a great time and feeling taken care of.

I truly have zero complaints. I loved every moment of our stay and would absolutely return. Secrets Tulum exceeded every expectation and delivered a perfect vacation experience.

The staff, the amenities, the activities, just everything. We had an amazing stay, we had a great time, everything we experienced was just special. The variety of restaurants and selections.
