Aside from a lack of elevator this hotel was wonderful! The breakfast offered was delicous and even included more substantial items like eggs and bacon and beans. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful with any and all questions. The hotel and the rooms all had air conditioning too which was a must for the hot summer days!

The accommodation was perfect for the location to many of Venices sights. Very near Rialto bridge and easy to find. Breakfast was good, check in and out seamless, with friendly and helpful staff. No view from our room, but we used it as a base so not an issue.

Great location close to vaparetto and lots of shops right there. Great sandwiches at Testo. So close to Rialto, but side street blocks much of the noise. Warm showers and cool AC were well needed after some hot days of walking. Breakfast was tasty and so convenient (you will reserve a time slot each day). Having someone at front desk 24/7 was super helpful as we arrived on a very late flight and they were always helpful when we needed them.

So this is rated 4+ stars on Hotels.com and others, but it is barely a 2 star. First, there is NO elevator so you have to haul your luggage at least 2 flights of stairs up to your room. There are no TV’s, no Kleenex, small bathrooms with very low water pressure in the shower. There were dirty socks and toiletries left in our room from the prior guest. The breakfast that is included is not good, lower quality than any other we have had in Europe. The location is ok, but not the cleanest part of Venice. The staff was fine, but I would not stay here again. It’s really a low grade Pensione.

We felt welcomed by the staff as soon as we arrived at the hotel and they answered all our questions and offered helpful suggestions for our stay.

The hotel is located near many popular places, including the Rialto Bridge a few blocks away— we found the location ideal for our exploration of Venice. Of social note, the hotel Is only a couple of short blocks from one of the stops for the river bus.

The breakfast buffet was also excellent and gave us a good start on each day we were there. It included some American breakfast staples (bacon and eggs) as well as bread, yogurt, Italian pastries, and several varieties of juice along with coffee.

The only caution we can add is that if you are in the attic room (which was wonderful with an en suite bathroom), be prepared to climb lots of stairs to get to your room! We loved the room— quiet and comfortable, perfect for our needs.

Just to be extra clear, this is an old fashioned pensione. There is no TV, no mini fridge, no ice machine, and no elevator.If you can't deal with that, seek elsewhere. The room was big enough, the bathroom was spacious, and the AC worked, which was fortunate because we had a late May heatwave during our visit. The staff is very helpful. If you arrive early, or checkout time is well before the train or plane, you can leave your suitcases in the lobby. The breakfast buffet is really good. Real plates and utensils. Good variety and suitable choices if you are vegetarian like I am.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Venice. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location was absolutely perfect — close to everything, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with any questions. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection and fresh food every morning. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. It was close to the Rialto Bridge, but away from all the hustle and bustle of that area. The room was spacious and had a comfortable king size bed and a good shower. The breakfast was lovely with cappuccinos made to order. The staff was helpful with suggestions and directions. The hotel had a person at the desk 24 hours, so we always felt safe. The only disadvantage would be that there is no elevator for those with mobility issues, but that is typical for many hotels in Venice.

The bathroom was constantly dirty, blood stain on the toilet, there was always pee on the floor, around the toilet and on the toilet as well. First and last time I book a shared bathroom room.

The location and assistance from staff was first class. We had to share a bathroom which was managed well. One reading lamp did not work, and the wardrobe could not be opened because of a defective/previously damaged key/lock.
This was reported. It was noted and we were thanked for doing so.

This is possibly the best located hotel in Venice and definitely has the kindest staff! The breakfast was excellent as well. It is stressful from the Eialto Mecato stop on vaporetto line 1, so if you have luggage and dont want the hassle of dragging it far, this is for you. They also stored our luggage to help us out and we're so friendly. Staffed 24 hours, the front desk is always ready to help and even arranged for us to have breakfast early on our departure day. The hotel is spotless and classically Venetian. And it is a great value. No need to look further, you will not be disappointed with your stay here. I will return whenever I am in Venice.

Hotel was in a great location, central but tucked away on a quiet lane. Easy to walk in every direction. Room was on the 4th floor, so lots of steps, but we got lucky that our room had a good view. The only negative for us was the beds and pillows not being the most comfortable, but not a deal breaker. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Staff are friendly. I would stay here again.

Great hotel, friendly staff and a well equipped breakfast. Being in the centre of Venice, near the Rialto bridge, makes it a great location to access any part of Venice easily. The only knock against the location is that it’s located right above a square that allows bars to be open as late as 3 am. so if you’re looking for a quiet sleep, bring ear plugs. Otherwise, a great spot.

Room was ok, but extremely noisy from the square below - not the market people, but people drinking and dining at the restaurant directly below. We ended up leaving a day before we were due to check out, just so we could get a decent night sleep. This could be very different Monday to Thursday nights. Staff were very apologetic, but it’s not their fault people decide to drink, sing and yell out until 4am.

The staff are verg nice, helpful and for what the hotel is, they do a very good job of accomodating their guests. That being said, the hotel has weird idiosyncrasies. For example, it was not clear to me when I booked that the rooms do not have their own bathroom. 3-4 rooms share the bathroom that you see in the picture. Luckily there is a sink in the room but no toilet or anything. Also, they have an odd rule where they require you to leave your key at the front desk whenever you leave your room. If you go to breakfast drop off your keh, you go out for the day, drop off your key. They say its for security but, idk, i thought it was odd. Also, it did not bother me, but there is no tv in the room or other ame ities like personal coffee maker, etc. Lastly, the breakfast was okay, however the last day i stayed there the scrambled eggs were rotten and tasted sour/off. The location is in a very good spot of the ciry, close to many sites, gondolas, water taxis, etc. And the staff did have the desk manned literally 24 hours. So good on them for that.

Location: This hotel is very aptly located right next to the the famous Rialto bridge and vaporetta stop is very close.

Rooms: are big with decent size bathroom (compared to other bathrooms in italy)

Breakfast: is very good with options for no egg vegetarians like us. (Milk/coffee/hot chocolate/fruit salad/yougurts/bread/cornetto/veggie salad/juice/cereals/cheese/butter) they do have other non veg items too

Staff: very very polite and helpful outside official hours as well.

Overall i liked this hotel a lot and would recommend to book is well in advance.

Cons: only 1 thing missing is elevator if you have heavy bags

The hotel is in a perfect location. We were overjoyed when we saw how convenient it was to get to everything. So many restaurants, markets, The Rialto Bridge, shops and so much more, all within very easy walking distance. The breakfast was amazing, there was everything you could possibly need or want. The staff was super friendly and always greeted us with a smile and a bongiorno!! When we come back to Venice, this will be the first place we look to stay.

We had the shared bathroom bedroom in the 4th floor. I wish I was informed about this during the reservation time. We had at least 2 luggage’s per person and we were really tired after a long day trip to Venecia from Boston to them having to bring all the luggage to the 4th floor.

The property is quite old, like most of the buildings in the area, but the room was nice and clean and the staff was excellent. The breakfast was very varied and tasty as well. As a downside, we were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. The room also didn’t have a TV or a small fridge/freezer, so it’s basically just a place to lay down and sleep.

We absolutely loved Hotel Guerrato. Amazing location by the canal and local market. The included breakfast each morning was wonderful.
The only complaint would be that it was a little loud until around 12 am or so from the bars below, but we were so tired from exploring that it didnt matter too much.
Otherwise, we had a wonderful time here!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel during our three nights in Venice. The location couldn’t have been more perfect, close enough to easily reach all the main sights, yet tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and relaxing.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to help, whether it was offering recommendations, answering questions, or simply greeting us with a smile each day. Their warm hospitality really made a difference.
Breakfast was another highlight, with a great selection of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, and the facilities throughout the hotel were excellent.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Venice.

Timeless charm, furnished Venetian style, historic interior, in the heart of the wonderful Rialto market area, famous fish market, lots of local cafes nearby, hotel hours 24/7 access, concierge hospitality, efficient service, great breakfast, spacious room, clean, everything you need basically.
Stairs throughout all floors. Comfortable seating area, outside the hotel rooms, good WiFi reception, enjoyed my stay here.
Right next to the regular boat stop, cross the Rialto bridge to get the water taxi alliguna though and it’s 18 euro one way, very good boat service .

Expedia Hotel Review – Family Stay
We had an amazing family stay in Venice. We were traveling with two children, and after an 8-hour flight delay, we arrived at 2:00 AM. Despite the late hour, the staff welcomed us warmly and could not have been more accommodating, which meant so much after a long travel day.

When we left just two days later at 6:00 AM, the hotel again went above and beyond by preparing breakfast to go and kindly seeing us off. These thoughtful touches made traveling with kids so much easier.

The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a family of four. The location is unbeatable — steps from the Rialto Bridge and right next to the water bus, making Venice easy and stress-free to navigate.

This was our favorite stay of our entire trip through Europe. The front desk staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could and highly recommend it to families visiting

The staff was very helpful when asked questions about the vaporetto stops and the best places to watch fireworks on New Year’s Eve. The staff even left a bottle of prosecco for us in our room to celebrate the new year. Our room was extremely clean and tidy.

There were no elevators or staff to help carry our really heavy luggage. We had to walk up 4 flights of stairs - 20 stairs per flight. It was a lot. Workers were very nice and friendly, it was clean and location was great - right near where the boat lets you out.
