The hotel is really beautifully decorated, keeping up with Venizian style, spacious and clean. The reason for lower rating are the following: 1/no complementary water in the room (small water bottles available in mini bar for €8!). Water is such a basic necessity I would have expected from a 5* hotlel, 2/ no kettle not coffee machine in rooms, 3/ Cleaning staff was entering our room every evening without knocking and didn't speak English.

This was not a great experience; hard to believe this is a 5-star hotel…we left a different small hotel in Venice to stay at Ca’ Segrado and from the first moment it was a subpar experience. We arrived at 3:45 pm. The front desk agent told us our room would be ready in 5 minutes & they’d give us a glass of prosecco while we waited on the deck. No problem since we called, emailed, and confirmed day of that we needed two twin beds, of course we’d wait a few more minutes. 45 minutes later (WELL after check in) no one had spoken to us about our room. The front desk agent looked like he totally forgot when we had to wander back to the front desk to find out what was going on. He finally realized who we were and took us up to a room with the bellman. Of course: no twin beds. The carpet in this room was once cream (it appears), but now is disgustingly stained. The walls are marked up and filthy. The “updated” shower has black mold. The wallpaper is coming up from the walls. When the front desk finally agreed to send housekeeping up to help us with twin beds, the woman was huffy and rude, I told her to leave all the bedding and we would make our own beds. Of course moving the beds revealed dirty carpet that desperately needs vacuuming; we tried calling the front desk, no answer, messaging the hotel, no answer. We never got the WiFi to work in our room. We weren’t made away of the breakfast cost: €88 for 2 people per day! Sadly won’t return; just come for a drink to see the palace.

I loved the location of the hotel. The staff was pretty friendly and they helped us get a water taxi on a day of a strike to make it to the train on time. Breakfast was not included in our stay and the breakfast buffet option seemed a little overpriced for what it was but the space where breakfast was served was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed the hotel.

This is absolutely beautiful! We felt like a king and a queen! The room was spacious, had those luxurious features, and a nice bathroom.

The cons were that they didn’t have an iron, horrible WiFi.

Overall a nice honeymoon experience though.

I really loved the hotel and our room. It’s a real palace. We first got a very small room where AC wasn’t working and the skylight on the ceiling wouldn’t let us sleep. I complained, and they gave us a really spacious room on the first floor instead. Breakfast is amazing, it felt very regal. It’s a little bit of a walk from St. Mark’s place, but totally worth it.

While an impressive property in many respects this hotel did not live up to expectations.

Despite repeated requests and promises from staff, our room never received Wifi. Our devices got strong signals in common areas, but never in our 3rd floor room. Staff assured us all issues would be resolved, but could not follow through. At check out we received compensation via removal of a €50 restaurant charge.

Staff were pleasant but frustratingly unhelpful with directions and other small matters. The included breakfast seemed meager for a 5-star hotel and was hidden away on the 2nd floor. We encountered other guests who also could not find the breakfast rooms. Signage would have solved the problem.

The grand canal location meant that our water taxi dropped us at a hotel entrance, a genuine plus. But, all factors considered led us to conclude that this is a 4-star property masquerading as a 5-star hotel.

A beautiful old style palace boutique hotel.
It has some amazing fresco and the state room is worth the entry fee alone.
The hotel is centrally located and convenient to arrive by Water Taxi. It also located beside the Gondola station.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms are a little dated by modern standard but otherwise comfortable and clean.

Would consider again in the future.

Emailed the hotel 3 days before we arrived to ensure we had a twin room. They confirmed everything was booked correctly. Arrived late in the evening after traveling all day and were given the keys to a double room.

Hotel is nowhere remotely close to a 5 star. 4 stars would be generous. Room was filthy with dust everywhere. Breakfast was one of the worst I've encountered.

Stay away from Ca Sagredo Venice

The hotel is truly an old dump. The building is a gorgeous, dilapidated relic. But the hotel is dirty and beyond repair. I have photos of the carpets walls fixtures and more and video of our bathroom walls with black mold growing on them. We complained but no one responded and there were no other rooms available in Venice at the time. It was a nightmare. We reached out to management for help and of course radio silence. We are sending our pictures and videos to the media so they can make travelers aware.

Our room booked via Expedia was on the top floor, carpets were heavily stained, the wifi, in spite of the staff’s best efforts to get it working, with extenders, did not want to work in our room, I had to go to the second floor to connect and catch up on work. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, it is quite dated, at some point, perhaps 50 years ago, it may have been.. the staff was very helpful and very nice…

Wonderful and unique, the property feels like it belongs in the renaissance era. Charming with plenty of opportunities for stunning pictures. Skip the breakfast as it is mediocre at best and considering the fact you are in food heaven there are many better options available nearby. Be advised that the hotel will not provide an iron or kettle as the fire danger is a concern.

The hotel is nice but just super tired. It's not a 5 star hotel; which is why I think it gets booked often, because it is the most economical of the 5 star choices. They try but it's misleading to think you booked a 5 star hotel when the experience is just not that. With that said, it's not the staffs fault they are misrepresented and they are the peasant and helpful. This is a good four star hotel in a great area of the City

It was a good stay overall with a couple of caveats
1- there is no fitness center, I counted on it but I had to to through the venetian maze of alleys to get the blood pumping. It was rainy foggy and slippery
2- breakfast was included but we did not think it was up to what we were expecting considering the category of the hotel

Loved our two night stay here at the end of a cruise.
Not been to Venice before so nervous about what kind of hotel to book. Needn’t have worried, the receptionist was efficient and friendly, spoke perfect English, we were early and room not ready so went and sat outside overlooking the Grand Canal, had lunch - a Cesar salad which was huge and utterly delicious! Went to our room when ready and we had been upgraded to one of their top suites - took our breath away and made our stay in Venice perfect.
The porters, waiters and front of house were all so very helpful, made telephone calls for us, arranged a complementary trip to Moreno and couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. The hotel isn’t cheap but nothing is cheap in Venice and once you get over that you can just enjoy your surroundings and soak up the atmosphere.
The hotel plays Italian opera in reception - how lovely is that!
Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough if you like history, marble, Murano glass, a fab view in a central location with impeccable friendly service.

The location of the hotel is very nice. It is close to everything. Few minutes to the public transportation and sightseeings. The room and bathroom iare much bigger than other five hotels that we stayed. The breakfast has limited food choices but they are fresh. However, the hotel needs complete rebuld. It puzzles me of how it was rated as five stars hotel. It is very old in need of urgent repair. All the furniture used in the room seems getting from backyard sale. The carpet used in lobby seem to be not washed for long time. You can smell it. The sleep area is decorated with animal or angel sculptures that might not be comfortable to some people. I passed by some 3 or 4 stars hotels, these hotels are definitely looks and feel higher class than this one. If you are looking for a 5 star stay, I would not recommend it.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

Beautiful Small Luxury Hotel of the World!!! This is one of the most rememberable hotels we have stayed in. I say this because the building was built in the 1500's with an addition being completed in the 1700's. The building has been impeccably maintained. When you stay here, make sure to tour each area of the hotel and speak to Nicolo at the front desk about the building itself. There are such gorgeous frescos that cannot be missed, painted in the 1700's.
Andre from the on-site restaurant will also make you feel right at home! He is fantastico!!!
The rooms are very nice sized for a hotel this old! The bed was very comfortable and the amenities provided in the rooms will make you feel right at home! Also, the location is so close to anything you want to see or do in Venice! There is a Gondola station actually right at the entrance of the hotel!

A stay here in a basic room costs close to 700 Euro per night, and it’s worth every cent. This was amazing. The staff was super helpful from check in to check out. The hotel is old school and classy and makes you feel special. The location is UNREAL. You’re near everything and the room balcony has a great view and the upstairs bars view is incredible. The lower level bar area was right on the canal and beautiful. The included breakfast was REALLY good and even had chicken nuggets! My wife and I will certainly be back to Venice and definitely will stay here!

A Great Hotel

Travelled here to celebrate my 50th birthday and had a great time. From the complementary prosecco in our room to the friendly service from all staff, it was an excellent stay from start to finish. Had a great restaurant recommendation from reception but if you stay here please try the restaurant. The Gnocchi in a saffron sauce with prawns was sublime. Get the water taxi to the hotel's own dock when you arrive. You'll love it. Nice breakfast too.

This place is a dump. I’m disappointed that Expedia rates this a 5 star hotel, it’s a 2 star at best. The property is old and outdated, run down. I knew it was old, it’s a historic property, but the room was dirty. The carpet was white, and all along the edges of the walls the carpet was black… either dust/dirt or mold, I couldn’t tell. The bed was comfortable but the room was so dirty and run down it was hard to feel comfortable. Overall we couldn’t wait to leave. The location was good and right next to a water bus stop. The staff was fine. Don’t be duped thinking this is a nice hotel.

We stayed at Ca’Sagredo for 3 nights. The location was stunning, right on the grand canal. The room was amazing, we had the junior suite. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated and super clean. The bed was comfortable, we slept like a babies throughout our stay. We had a side-view to the Grand canal which was breathtaking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay at Ca’Sagredo and definitely looking forward to our next stay.

Issue with very loud function on our first night was resolve by management offering us a complimentary dinner. Both the food and service were excellent.

Wow, what a spectacular small hotel!! The staff was excellent!! Our room was just beautiful. A little small compared to a standard hotel room in the US, but nice size for Europe. Bathroom was very lovely and large. We had a nice balcony with small bistro table and two chairs which was a added plus. Spend a little time walking around the 2nd floor. The rooms and art are breathtakingly beautiful. Perfect location right next to the waterbus stop. This makes it so convenient to get around. We loved our stay and absolutely will be back

This was the true luxury experience without being stuffy. The staff was superb and always attentive to our needs. Details were always addressed. Any request was met with grace and positivity. The beautiful and magnificent rooms with the murals and art collections were exquisite, yet I never felt I was in a museum, more like a welcomed guest in a beautiful villa, greeted by gracious hosts. The location is fantastic. Walkable to many highlights and the vaporetto station is next door. Gondola ride is just in front of the hotel. A large street with many shops and restaurants are right there as well as local amenities. Its an ultimate Venetian experience.

Lots of potential. Room description inaccurate

This hotel is beautiful, both inside and with the outside spaces. In general however they need a little more attention to detail. We did not get a ‘courtyard view’ as suggested, in fact no view at all, the room description was completely misleading which is somewhat infuriating. The cleaning staff and bell boy we’re brilliant but SOME of the rest of the staff pick and choose what they assist with. Most people visit Venice for 2/3 days, which is a very short time to make an impression. I would suggest that their front of house and wait staff increase their efforts to make a more solid impression and make everyone’s visit special. Hotel was clean, with beautiful furniture and it was very quiet.

The physical accommodations were very nice. The room was well appointed, the bed quite comfortable, and the bathroom elegant and impeccably clean. The food in the dining room was disappointing, lacking in flavor and not at all comparable to what you might experience in any number of local restaurants for a fraction of the price. The most notable disappointment was the attitude and lack of hospitality and courtesy on the part of one woman who worked at the front desk. Otherwise, great hotel, but venture out for your meals!

There is a very attractive outside restaurant facing the Canal with a great view of the Grand Canal. A very impressive staircase leads to the second floor with cherubs, classic lanterns, and impressive frescoes on the walls and ceiling. Beautiful Hotel!

Great hotel, great location, terrific staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious with an out door terrace (4th floor). The staff was helpful and friendly, particularly Laura B, Frederico and Tomas.

Beautiful hotel away from the crowds

This is an elegant hotel with the very best in all amenities. The breakfast was a very relaxed experience with the great service! Don't bother eating around the Rialto Bridge area!

Pleasant location, food, staff and overall

Such a beautiful hotel with some interesting history. Staff couldn't be more accommodating. Not badly priced considering its reputation. Wouldn't stay any where else

OK hotel but not 5 star

Good hotel good enough to stay for couple of nights but not more. Clean hotel with historical features and classic venetian setting and good location with many eateries nearby. However we did not feel welcomed by the front staff when we arrived, no introduction given though we were the only guests in the reception area. The air conditioning did not seem to be working and our room was boiling hot even it was winter in Venice! We asked the reception staff for this to be checked but never heard back from anyone nor our rooms were changed. We cannot say we experienced 5 star hotel/service at this hotel. It maybe famous for its binneale feature but need to improve their service to make up to it.
