Booked a get a way for the kids and myself. After arriving and checking in I got to a stuck/misalighned door. I return to the dest and got a moved to a new room. I then dropped off everything and noticed there was no tub (needed one for toddlers) i make my way back to the lobby. While waiting for someone to arrive i decided to check out the pool area only to find mattresses. I quickly brought it to their attentions and asked if we could move or be refuneded to go else where/next door that this was an experience for them. They quickly reassured me that we could swim next door due to their renovations and that i should have said something before checking in. I take my toddlers next door where i was told that coming from next door and swimming was unheard of and EVERYBODY envolved mislead me. (\"Highest manager\") i then go back next door where they call that manager only to be let back over to swim. After returning back next door the manager treated us as if we were a nuisance. We were ESCORTED to the pool by lock and key by another woman. No key card for us to leave and return. Swimming was great however leaving a hotel after swimming to go back next door wasnt the funnest of times. Especially being cold outside. The rest of the stay was decent. Other than the noises of cutting and sawing from floor 2 around 3-4pm. There was also stickers all over the mirror and exposed wiring under the hvac unit that i tried to stuff back under and let the desk know before i left.

Room was dirty and the shampoo/conditioner bottles had already been opened and used. Floor was sticky. There was sticky spots on the nightstands. Hated it.

I wish I could give this stay a zero star review. Do not trust the pictures you see online. The marketing of this hotel leads customers to believe it is a very nice, clean, and comfortable stay. Our stay was anything but that. The front desk clerk was very kind when checking us in at midnight. He let us know that breakfast was unavailable and we would have to walk to the hotel next door for breakfast in the morning. Yes this was inconvenient but not a big deal (even though there was 6-8 inches of snow on the ground). Once we walked into the room, our stay took a turn for the worst. The room was absolutely disgusting. Lampshades and walls were coated in a dark substance (I'm scared to know what that substance was), there were holes in the walls and wallpaper, hair on the ground and in the tub. We were uncomfortable to walk on the carpet, let alone sleep in the bed. To top it all off, due to the construction, there were loud slamming doors all night. DO NOT STAY HERE! The absolute worst $100 spent.

There were 2 major issues. 1) The night staff member checking us in, allowed us to check in our dogs. We made full disclosure. He even complemented us on the dog and their behavior. Other Comfort Inn’s on our trip allowed us to have the dogs with no issues. The next morning, the manager informed my daughter not me who was the party of record that there was a no pet policy and insisted we leave with evidence of a refund for the remaining 3 days which has not been cleared in my bank. The manager took no responsibility for his night staff member and accused me of lying to him about the pets. The issue is not the no pet policy. The issue is, its inconsistent application and the lack of customer service and rude demeanor. 2) The second issue is the overwhelming health hazard of the renovation at the hotel during our brief one night stay. Since one of my family’s reservation was made via Expedia and could not be cancelled, we chose to stay despite the health hazards (I am asthmatic and have other autoimmune issues.) I recommend that both Expedia and the hotel disclose renovations to customers when making a reservation. Expedia should also add 2 features a) indicate if a hotel is pet friendly and b) if a renovation is going on. Many people with health conditions could be affected. These changes are simple programming conveniences. I will inform both Choice Hotels and Expedia Corporate.

Hotel is under renovation ... when I booked they never mentioned this. They were working on the 2nd floor and they put us in a room on the 2nd floor. Awful heard doors opening/closing - banging even after 9pm. The toilet in the bathroom wasn't even secure to the floor - anytime you sat on it it moved. Front desk didn't even try to make things right - just shrugged their shoulders - worst place I have ever stayed in. NEVER NEVER NEVER again

I made the mistake of booking a non-refundable room....this hotel is under construction. As soon as we entered our room we were subjected to very loud hammering directly above us. We were told that there were no other rooms available that weren't experiencing the same thing, except maybe a double.....we didn't want that, and it would last another 2 hours! The room smelled absolutely disgusting. The odor of urine, pet or otherwise, was so strong that the perfume deoderizers just made it worse. It's a good thing this place is getting remodeled. The hallways are filthy and disgusting. We booked a place with a pool, and it was closed due to remodeling! All in all, just a lousy stay......but haven't experienced breakfast yet, that might be scary!

Booked a 4 night stay, Had to immediately request new room upon check in due to fowl/urine type odor in room. Front desk attendant was very kind and quick to get is into a new room. New room still had the fowl odor though bearable (it was near midnight at checkin and we were exhausted), we used our travel sprays to mask the smell daily. On day 2 the internet went out, could not access TV or internet, it did come back on late evening. Day 3, the one and only elevator went down, so no elevator, We did not check into a 3rd floor room expecting to do flights of stairs several times for 2 days, we get \"things happen\". Last night stay, back to room late, No TV again. Complete bummer for our anticipated chill time. Spoke with front desk upon check out re: all these issues, I get they are the managers and not owners, I did gracefully inform him how my stay was unpleasant as he did ask \"How was your stay\"? I did ask what return compensation would be for the inconveniences and lack of comfort in our stay, I was informed the owners world be notified and there was nothing they could do at moment. Fair enough, I get it, Comfort Inn is huge Corporation. I did feel the need to speak my mind, I had stayed here before, not stellar then (mainly r/t cleanliness of room floor with toe nails found on floor), though comfy enough to stay again. I will NOT stay here again, plenty of other options in this area. I will say the coffee, b'fast and friendliness of staff on point.

Front desk attendant that checked us in was very curt and not welcoming at all. Hallways smelled very strongly of mildew and musk. Room felt humid despite AC. Room was dingy, with food caked on walls, lamp shades had mold/mildew stains, curtains ripped. Bathroom was clean enough. Breakfast area was clean and nice, thankfully.

I didn't like seeing a sign posted that basically said park at your own risk, I didn't appreciate smelling weed the second I walked into the door that leads to my room, and I didn't like the fact that the air-conditioning was broke or just couldn't be turned down. Other than that my stay was fine.

This was the WORSTTT experience I have ever had at an hotel. When i arrived, there was no one at the front desk, i had to wait 10 mins to check in. Once I got in my room i noticed ants EVERYWHERE!!! They were on the counters, nightstands and the bed. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they acted like it wasn’t a big deal and gave me new sheets. They never gave us a new room after asking for one. Once we made it home we had ants in our luggage. At that point we asked for a refund and would have been okay with only half. It’s 2 weeks later and they won’t even respond to Expedia and won’t give me my refund after acknowledging they KNEW about the BUGS!!! I’m reporting this disgusting hotel to the better business bureau and choice hotels compliance and ethics.

First it was a bit confusing when I booked it. I did not know there was a Comfort Suites and Comfort Inn right next to each other. My room was ok. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I am glad it was only one night.
The hotel had its share of weat and tear. The elevator was janky. The walk from the lobby to my room was mediocre at best. Formica was chipped on the walls of the elevator. Fire extinguisher box was all dented in. Carpet was very worn. The whole place was a bit worn down.
The breakfast was a little late and did not taste good. I did not eat it. Gravy for biscuits was watered down. The chocolate muffins had very little flavor.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this property was unfortunately very disappointing.
The air conditioning barely worked, which made the room uncomfortable, especially at night.
The water pressure was weak - just a trickle at times - and the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, which was a major issue since I needed to stay connected during my trip.

The room and overall hotel felt unclean and neglected, with an atmosphere that suggested management isn’t paying attention to guest comfort or property upkeep. It didn’t feel like anyone really cared about the guest experience, and that’s probably what bothered me the most.

For the price I paid, I expected at least the basics to be functional - AC, water, Wi-Fi, and a clean environment. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.

I would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel until serious improvements are made.

I arrived and the first red flag was a lady telling the receptionist how she doesnt want to stay here because of bad reviews. They still made her pay only because she had a reservation. The second part, the room was not clean. There was pizza next to the bed on the floor. Fresh juice was spilled on the floor because the floor was still wet. Besides the room not having a working a/c, it was humid. When we tried using the a/c is started smelling like smoke. I have children, and the microwave was a need. The microwave wasn't plugged in, but as soon as you plugged it in, it would turn on but it wasn't heating nothing. I guess now we know why it was unplugged. That also goes for the phone. The phone that is provided in the room is only for show. There's no connection or anything if you needed to make a call. The one thing to top it off, was bed bugs. Yes. I woke up at 5am, and to my surprise, there was a bed bug on the bed my babies were on. The sofa bed that was provided had mold as well. I asked the front desk if they had cleaned the room before us arriving and he clearly said no. Then I asked again, then he said yes. Yeah...a 6 hour drive from Chicago to end up in a bad hotel.

Property is old and a bit rundown. Carpet is smelly and stained, the elevators are in bad shape. As you enter the entire place smells like marijuana, breakfast was decent, our room was clean, but the bathroom had falling pieces off of the shower. The whole thing is a fixer-upper, and not in a great part of town or at least location on the street. It could be nice because it had some other surrounding hotels, but those also looked like they needed fixing up. I thought it was a hotel, but it presented more like a motel. The staff was friendly and attentive though. One of my biggest complaints is some truckers came to stay overnight, but instead of making them park somewhere else they allowed them to take up several parking spaces per truck instead of parking in a different parking lot. People with regular cars had to park elsewhere.

The air worked fine which was a plus. I have stayed at the comfort inn and suites next door and it was much better. We didn’t eat breakfast so I can’t comment on that.

I stayed for 6 nights and it was terrible, I would not recommend to anyone. A/C unit leaks leaving the room humid and smelling horrible. The sink was broken leaking all over the counter and floor took me asking 4 times to get it fixed. The shower head had mold all over it. The floors inside the room were absolutely disgusting, grossed me out to walk barefoot. My entire stay the whole building reeked of marijuana even though they claim it's a 100% smoke free building. Everything was very unsanitary and just felt very gross. 0/5 stars. DO BETTER!!

You can smell the damp rot all through the halls. We saw a bug run across the counter in the room as we walked in which prompted checking the mattress. I picked up our stuff and ran out as fast as possible. You will either go home ill or with uninvited guests.

We have stayed at over 30 comfort suites and inns and this was by far the worst one we have ever been too. You can tell this place is old. Has had major waterleaks as walls a warped right in the lobby and by the elevator ceiling was moldy. Given what i know of this city having worked here for about a year, its not a bug surprise.

The condition of the Hotel is very poor . The outlook the damage in the common areas and the room itself . The safe in the room that I always try to utilize in any hotel was just laying inside the closet . The bolts were laying on the top shelf . That closet also had a damp musty smell where I would not use it . The elevator seems to drop from floor to floor and not run smoothly . Should be looked at by maintenance.

The pool was over crowded the whole night as it’s only big enough for about 10 people. Bed was worn out and hard. Shower rod bracket was broken at the wall mount. Wood was missing from under bathroom sink. Rear door to hotel was propped open with a rock all night allowing whoever access to the hotel and laundry facilities wich were right across the hall from our room with people doing laundry all night. Do not recommend.

Arrive there about 430 gentlemen was on the phone at front desk and someone was trying to check in complaining about something. Person at the desk didn’t seem too interested in the people in the lobby just a person on the phone. sat and waited for a good 15 minutes before I got to check in then when I checked in gave me a room third floor into the hall get there the door was open and the room was trashed. Bad garbage everywhere don’t know what was in the shower or in the toilet. Took a video of it and showed it to the front desk guy and he told me housekeeping still cleaning. But yet he gave me a room that hasn’t been touched and there was no housekeeping on any floor. Gave me another room and the air conditioner was set at 69 but I had my thermostat that I carry with me for work room. Never got below 78. Told him in front desk when I checked out, he said she’ll use the wall control and showed him that there was no wall control. It was just the one under the window. Also, bed was very lumpy. Pillows were terrible. Got no sleep. I have usually stayed here before on a regular basis, but now I will look elsewhere. This place has gone downhill beyond all belief.

Check in was quick and easy. The beds were made (one looked like it had been laid on), room was okay aside from all of the marks on the walls, dirty lamp shades and overwhelming smell of bleach. I went to give my kid a bath and there was a rusted hole in the bath tub and the ceiling was falling apart from the condensation from people taking showers and there were wet spots on the ceiling. We asked if we could get a different room so I could bathe my child. Luckily, they were able to do that for us. That room was a little better. The beds are comfortable. Air conditioning works. The only thing that was good was breakfast. Overall it was okay, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Me and my daughter have stayed here many times with no issues. This time around it was not the case. Starting with check in, the lady was nice. When we got our room, we always check the beds/shower etc the bed sheets were NOT changed, my daughter went and spoke with front desk and she gave her clean sheets. Even talked to the front desk who stated when my daughter showed her photos that she knew the room was not clean because whoever was suppose to clean it switched with another house keeper. The pool is tiny and was DIRTY. Front desk Thursday afternoon stated pool is cleaned every morning, but there was stuff floating in pool. Our room also smelled like weed upon check in until check out. Side table was also dirty but did not get photos, and no soap in bathroom nor was trash changed.

The staff was nice, but the hotel was falling apart and so dirty. Upon arriving to our room the trash can still had food in it. The dresser drawers were tapped shut with scotch tape to keep them closed. The shower had hair in it. When I booked it showed over 3.5 stars. 😒

Desk clerk was nice. Room wasnt horrible. No sign of bugs. But there is an overall feeling of nott clean. Walking around barefoot resulted in filthy feet. As a female traveling alone I felt safe.

When I checked in I was given what I thought would be a non-smoking room. As soon as I stepped into the room there was a very strong cigarette smell. There was a “no smoking” sign on the door. The hallways need a refresh - the carpet is dirty and door trims need repainting. I returned the key card and left. Very disappointing.

Actually one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. We got in late so really just went straight to bed. I will say the beds looked clean enough. The next morning we noticed debris all over the floor (I stepped on gravel?), none of the high touch surfaces were wiped..the phone, door handle even desk were greasy/dirty, hairs in the shower and there was chocolate (I hope) smudged on the wall. We hurried out of there!
