It is definitely an older property. Our air conditioner was broken so we were quite warm duirng our 1 day stay. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk,they said they would make a note of it...no apology, no “we’ll fix it”.

It was hotter in our hotel room than it was outside. We asked maintenance to come fix the air because it was 77° in our room when we got there it took him about 30 minutes. They came up. They said the cold water valve was off he opened it. He said it would be 15 minutes we left. We went to our event. We came back and it was 79° in our room, they had to provide us with two fans just to get through the night. There was a light out in the bathroom and the wallpaper was peeling. Not very happy especially since it cost me $300 for one night.

Conveniently located. Staff were very friendly and well prepared for our arrival. We requested an early check-in, and they were very accommodating to help make sure we weren't late for the first act of the music festival. Parking was convenient. We used a pay lot across the street. Our room was fine. We had a nice view of the park. Overall, we were looking for an affordable and safe place to sleep after a concert and didn't need a lot of bells and whistles. Perfectly fit the bill.

The air conditioning in the room did not work it was 80 degrees the entire time in the room. The towels had someone’s hair on them and the wall in bathroom had same long dark hair on the wall. The “free” parking was full and they would not comp the other garage they told us to use.

How the hotel is and and what the pics show are night and day. The bathroom floor seemed like it was tilting, no hair dryer, no ironing board.
I had called to get this cancelled once I got to see the room but was told that they will only know by Monday about cancellation. It is poor service and management that I m being asked to do another booking if I don’t like this and then hope to get a refund.
Ideally I would like a refund - this was a really poor experience with hotel not even showing a name sign, and even the door key cards not having rhe hotel name. Lighting was extremely poor as well.

The room and hotel were very clean, no smells or stand out gross items and the view of the city was nice. We most likely will not stay here again; however, because the air conditioning did not seem to be working (a common complaint after talking to other guests). Though there were 4 elevators on site, it seemed only 2 were working, causing a lot of wait time just to get to the lobby or our room.

Parking is very challenging. And expensive. Staff is friendly. And recommended ways to save money. Rooms were clean. The hotel itself is generally aging and could definitely use some upgrades. Such as the walls near the elevators are cracked and peeling. There are scuff marks on floors and walls. Just needs a little elbow grease, some fresh paint, and some attention to details. Other than that, it was good.

There was literal bedbugs in Expedia, and the plaza are refusing to refund on top of that there was blood stain and yellow stain mattresses. This is very unacceptable.

Room 1003 experienced a ceiling collapse over the shower area during my stay. I reported it at checkout and was told a manager would contact me. I followed up by email and never received a response. I also inquired about a pillow left behind and received no reply. Disappointing follow-through on what should have been a straightforward customer service issue.

This is a very old hotel and needs updating. The towel bar in the bathroom was nearly falling off the wall. I guess that's what happened when there is no vent in the bathroom. The sink was missing the stopper so the running water was really loud. We had a apartment size refrigerator in our room which was surprising.
This hotel would be my last resort stay if all else fails.

We chose this hotel because we stayed there a year ago and had a really nice experience. The valet was so convenient and having a Starbucks in the lobby made grabbing the morning coffee a breeze and didn’t have to find another coffee shop downtown before meetings began.

Now the hotel has new owners-valet and Starbucks gone but this was not stated anywhere while booking. The front desk was 24 hour service. But every time I was at the desk needing assistance, staff were in the office with the door closed. I had to speak louder to get anyone’s attention. Also, the security door to get to the parking garage was locked in the morning when I was ready to check out.

The room was ok. Nothing special but the air conditioner ran the entire night just to get to 68*. So I am not sure if the place ever got cooled down. Also supplies to make coffee in the room were missing. It’s the little things that make a stay nice and I felt like it was just the bare minimum

Let me just start by saying that this property looked good in the photos on Expedia. But the reality of this hotel is that it was in horrible shape.
-Expedia did our family a disservice by not disclosing that this property is currently undergoing massive renovations.
-None of the ice machines on any of the floors were working.
-We tried to call down to the front desk to get more towels but the phones were not working.
-Our bedding was disgusting and old looking.
-None of our lamps were plugged in.
-The water from the sinks kept coming out either lukewarm or scalding hot no matter which way we turned the knobs.
-There was no free breakfast included.
-No valet was available.
This hotel should basically be closed and not operational. There has to be some legal requirement for a website like Expedia to disclose what is going on at this hotel for safety reasons. We have three kids and did not feel at all safe staying here. But we had spent all day driving and were exhausted so we didn't really have any other options.

I had a fantastic view from my window. The room was clean and spacious. I definitely recommend this hotel.
There was no refrigerator and the coffee maker didn't work. Any other hotel, that might have thrown me off but the view from my window made up for those.
Be aware there is no free parking here.

All the staff we encountered were amazing! Very helpful and quick to fulfill our needs! Clean room & great view! Spotty windows outside but that comes with the weather. Over all amazing. This is our second year staying and if we continue to do sonic temple, we will continue to stay here!

This Dowager hotel has lost her luster. She is tired and rundown. We had to ask for toilet paper during our recent stay of a week. No housekeeping. The thermostat was immovable. The decor is dated. It is in an excellent location. There is no valet parking (or at least there wasn’t when we were there. You had to park in a parking garage. Going in and out and paying each time is ridiculous for a hotel of a caliber it used to be. If location is important, this is a great hotel. If you need parking, amenities and toilet paper, look elsewhere.

Room 1918 needs attention as follows:
1) toilet seat not properly attached, and
2) bank of electrical outlets on window side of the bed need to be attached to the wall with screws. When I unplugged my C-Pap machine, the entire bank of receptacles pulled out of the wall.

Our room was freezing cold and the bathroom smelled like pee. I called the front desk and the issue was to be fixed regarding the room being cold. No one ever came to fix it before we left to attend a concert. On our way out I stopped at the front desk and was assured my issue would be resolved. When we got back to the hotel after the concert and we were cold and wet due to the weather and rain our room was freezing cold. It was 1 am in the morning and the front desk took over an hour to NOT find us another room that was warm. They did bring us blankets, but they smelled and were dirty. When we checked in the bar was unable to serve mixed drinks because there was no bar tender and the cook arrived late so no food available at 5 either as promised. Called to speak to the manager and rather than resolving issues or concerns, he chose to argue with me. Also the parking deck is very expensive and that charge is not included in the high price you pay to stay their.

I liked the location being across State Street from the Ohio State House where I needed to be. There is an open, old bag of ice in the freezer of the refrigerator in the room that should be removed and the freezer cleaned. To do so will require thawing the freezer but it's unsightly.

This hotel was rather basic, but my room was great. The bed was very comfortable and it had a great view of the statehouse. Check out the great view of downtown from the gym which is on the top, 22nd floor.

It was clear that the hotel seems to be in transition from its sale as a former Sheraton hotel to an independently owned hotel — so I noticed there were a few places in the hotel that were potentially being renovated.

The hotel is centrally located downtown. I recommend parking in either of the Commons park garages — there are two of them, with the underground lot the closest to the hotel.

Lady working the front desk was sighing and complaining under her breath when checking us in and took forever to finally give us the room key. Upon arrival to the room the view would be amazing if the windows weren’t caked with grime dust and dirt. Faucet for the shower was broken and it took what felt like an eternity to get hot water. Absolutely no air condition or ventilation in the hotel room at all and wallpaper was filthy. Across my 5 day stay I didn’t get room service once and when my girlfriend called and asked about the air conditioning the guy at the desk was extremely rude and told her that he could offer a fan and abruptly hung up the phone. The room was well over 78 degrees inside and we had to sweat it out every night. Will not return or recommend to family and friends ever. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed. The location could be amazing but obviously the pride and quality of work has gone down. As someone who will be returning to Columbus yearly for sonic temple I will never return to this establishment even if they paid me.

It's an old hotel in an old building and it becomes apparent in a lot of little ways. The fan in the bathroom didn't work well (at one point it ran very weakly and another time not at all). The toilet was weak and would not flush down two wads of tp. Also there were little maintenance issues... nothing major but like no bag in the trash can in the bathroom, and the filter part of the coffee maker was missing so I couldn't make coffee. Breakfast isn't included (extra $20) and neither is parking ($29 for one day). Again, we were fine there and it was fine but just a lot if little things that add up.

We stayed for a music festival that was in town. And although I was grateful to find a place that was under $500 a night for such a busy weekend. I was underwhelmed by the overall appearance of the hotel. The outside of the building is not clearly marked and it was harder to find than normal. When you first walk in the cleanliness makes you second guess wanting to check in. With no other option, we did anyway. The redeeming qualities include their fantastic staff who were super friendly and greeted you with a smile. Both of the employees we encountered were very patient with my difficult group and were beyond helpful. Which I will admit is hard to find these days. So we were optimistic. The parking lot we parked in was close by and had indoor walking to the hotel, I was also told it was the cheapest lot in the city which was great. After a 12 hour day at the music festival, we were able to sleep fairly peacefully. The thermostat definitely wasn’t working to control the temperature however. Upon waking up in the morning, I wanted to start my day with a relaxing, hot, shower. Which, wasn’t a thing apparently. The water never reached a temperature to even fog up the mirrors. They also did not provide any shampoo or conditioner. Which, I understand would be a luxury feature to some, but when a guest only stays for one night these toiletries provided makes a big difference. Probably won’t be staying again, unless it’s the last resort even though the staff was so lovely.

Overall just a really bad experience. In town for a graduation party and invited a surge group to the hotel for drinks but everything was locked up. No management on property and they said it opens at 4. That actually means 5:30 then they still closed at 9. Will not show pictures but coffee pot was missing pieces and trash on the floor when we arrived. Super sad because it really messed up our plan A.

There was no maid service the three days that we stayed at the Plaza. We had to go and ask for fresh washcloths and towels from the front desk clerk.

Had a marathon and a concert happening in town, more staff needed to deal with very long check in time.
A/C in room barely kept it tolerable. Lucky weather turned cold so we switched to heat
Only a bottle of conditioner in shower.
No water or sodas at all in vending machine on 8.
Lobby complimentary water was empty.
Breakfast buffet was not a buffet.
Lobby store had minimal items.
Checkout only 1 elevator working, had to use stairs from floor 8.
Room was clean though.

Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Was there for a concert at OSU and did not want to spend $1000 per night on a hotel room. So for what we paid we realized it was about as good as we were going to get.

It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The beds were nasty and horribly stained. I found this out once I looked under the sheets. The wall outlet was hanging off the wall as well as the AC cover. The fridge was missing. The bathroom wall was stained under the sink so badly it looked like water damage.

It’s in a great location. The manager during check in was great. The line was backed up, and he recognized that and apologized for the line and offered wine to help the mood as most people were there for a concert. The front desk staff could have been more energetic but they were still very cordial.

Our room was very clean and the AC worked. The only complaint of the room was that the bathroom was dated. The hot water was so so the morning of check out.

The other elevators must be fixed. Two operating elevators in a hotel that size is unacceptable. Other small improvements include ceiling tiles that need replaced.

Overall, it was a place to sleep but not a place to stay. A little TLC could help improve the property move to a place people want to come back to.

The front desk did an excellent job under the circumstances. There was a huge concert at the Shoe that night. We arrived at 3:30 and the check in line was wrapped out the door. Unfortunately they only had 2 elevators working so after check in, you had to wait in another line for the elevator. We had booked a room with 2 beds. When we got to our room, it was a king, for 3 people. We weren't going to wait in the line again to get into another room as there was still a line of 50 people waiting to check in. We were able to let the front desk know to just send up pillows and a blanket and we'd make do. By the time we returned, the pillows and blanket had been delivered. The front desk were champs that night. They did let us use the service elevators which eased some of the frustration of waiting. Management should have anticipated and planned better.

The room was a typical hotel room. Nothing special. It wasn't dirty but wasn't spotless either. If pressed for a night's sleep and this is what was available I would stay again. We didn't use any of the other amenities.

The hotel was understaffed for the number of guests on a sold-out night. Only one of the four elevators was working, and we had to wait over 20 minutes in line to get on it. The room was on the 11th floor. There was no valet parking, had to park 2 blocks away in a garage. To top it off, the lights in the bathroom didn’t work.

Only 3 floors had a ice machine that worked, only 1 elevator worked, property is in disrepair and needs cleaned, maintained, and renovated throughout. Other guests complained about hot rooms and A/C not working on a day that was maybe 65° outside. Rooms could use updating, carpet, curtains, and interior looked dated, kitchenette area was pretty decent. The only plus was the #1 bus ran nearby to the stadium and the last bus ran back from the stadium around 11:15 pm

Air was out and not able to be fixed per maintenance. No other room available to move to or any option of partial refund. Other guest was having the same issues as us seeing they was at the front desk reporting as well. Other serious issues was only one of the four elevators was working so that added a bunch of time waiting. No ice machines working so you had to go to the front desk wish caused issues. This place was a mess. Check in was a nightmare, we were waiting in line for about 45 minutes. Two of the four elevators were broken so that was another 30 minute wait to get to the 8th floor to our room.
The room itself was okay, no real complaints there.
We went to a concert at OSU stadium so when we got back after, the wait for the elevator was ridiculous, had to take 8 flights of stairs.
The shower was nice.
Check out was quick and easy.
I wouldn't stay there again.

This hotel must be transitioning ownership as it is seriously understaffed for its size and was practically empty. I will say the people working there were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and the location was safe and good for my needs. There was lots of street parking available over the weekend. I would stay here again.
