Great location, perfect for a football weekend as campus is a 15 minute walk. Offstreet parking a plus!! The house is well appointed & clean. Key codes to get in front door & your room so privacy assured. Other guests were staying of course but I had no concerns with any excessive noise during the weekend. 2 Bathrooms, never had to wait. I will be staying again in the future as I go to Columbus every year for a football game, honestly I enjoyed it more than a hotel as it made me feel like a student again and I'm 65 years old!

Home was lovely -- clean, inviting, easy to find and access. Bed and bedding were clean and neat and comfortable. Host was friendly and helpful. Guests sharing my room were loud, rude and disgusting. Barely slept from other guests snoring loudly, blowing their nose (one was sick) and turning on the lights from 2am to 6am. I wish it had been a more enjoyable stay, but I barely slept.

This hostel exceeded expectations. I've stayed in others that were priced the same but were extremely bare bones. This one had recently renovated bathrooms and comfortable bunks. In addition, they provided linens and towels and LOTS of selections of food for breakfast! I'll definitely be back!

The staff refused to fix the problem with the locks and locker code issue. Many could not open doors given codes, it becomes a problem at 3 am. Staff was pleasant just not competent. Spend less time in the hot tub and change the batteries on these antiquated locks.

I had an issue upon arrival, late at night, with proper access to the property. I was supposed to have received an email with entry codes and directions. However, I did not receive any communication from the property itself, only a confirmation email from hotels.com, where I booked the reservation. My only issue is if the property is going to use a 3rd party vendor for booking, then they need to provide more communication with the vendor or directly to the patron. I had to reach hotels.com customer service, who were able to reach the property manager and he was able to forward me the information to get inside. However, this was approximately 90 minutes after arrival and going past midnight local time. The manager explained the situation and error and the accommodations were good. But, if you book through any site other than directly through the property, be very aware that you need to reach them directly in advance to get check in information. This is the first time booking a hostel through hotels.com and was not made aware by the vendor or property of very specific details about receiving an email in advance, nor had any reason to think there would be an issue checking in on my arrival. The stay was good, but the communication and coordination was definitely not what I expected or anticipated during my trip.

The house and the private room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, desk and chair, closet with hangers, and plenty of shelving space and outlets. The TV with Netflix/Amazon Prime was a nice touch. Communication was clear. I didn't interact with management but I didn't need to. A tiny ding to the shared bathroom having water specks on the mirror and to water on the counter from other patrons. A role of paper towels so people could wipe up would have been helpful. (There were hand towels that I'm guessing no one wanted to use to wipe up the counter, since the towels were there for people to use to dry hands.) There was a box of disinfectant wipes--nice touch for anyone who might want to wipe off the toilet seat before using. So adding a roll of paper towels to the bathroom would be easy/helpful. Overall, though, great stay, and I'd stay again.

As this is a Hostel the cleanliness is 90% dependent on guests cleaning up after themselves. If you have guest that take carenof their messes and their dishes then cleanliness is not an issue.

We never received a check-in email with instructions. We ended up stranded outside in the cold for over an hour. Another guest was also stuck outside with us. We tried calling every number listed - they finally answered after calling over 30 times. The kitchen area was very dirty. There was tons of old rotten food in the fridges. Some of it not even covered. Didn’t feel comfortable eating breakfast there. The room was super hot, even with the windows open had a hard time sleeping. Would not recommend.

The Wayfare Buckeye is truly one of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at so far. Robbie is so helpful and considerate. The advice he gave for things to do was totally on point. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food provided was delicious, and overall I felt nothing but safe while staying there. The showers, bathrooms, and the room itself was very clean. I loved that towels were provided, that’s sometimes rare for hostels. While I didn’t use a bike, the fact they were provided is super cool. The area itself is very walkable, there are plenty of bars nearby, and it’s only a 30 minute walk from OSU (20 from High St)! I would definitely stay again.

Great Hostel Experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wayfaring Buckeye! We were playing a show just around the corner at the Rumba Café, which was a whopping 4-minute walk from the hostel. So convenient! Parking in back, speedy wi-fi, clean and comfy beds, and plenty of shared bathrooms to go around. Also...there's a hot tub! Would definitely book again.

The Hostel was clean in a residential neighborhood within a mile from OSU campus. Parking in rear of units, just a little crowded. Breakfast was help yourself and was a well stocked help yourself. No complaints and well secured.

First time staying at a hostel. Check-in was easy: I was emailed the door codes earlier in the day as promised. Parking in the back was a bit tight but pretty convenient.
When I booked the room I wasn't too sure about the \"shared bathroom\" situation but it wasn't really an issue once I was there. My room was next to the bathroom so I could hear when people went to the bathroom. It's understandable since this is just a house, not a hotel, but still kinda awkward. I think my only complain is that the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak...but I guess that's not the owners fault. I managed to take a shower which is what matters I guess, it just took me a while.
The self-serve breakfast was convenient and the kitchen was well stocked with bagels, cream cheese, milk, cereals, oat meal and juice.
The hot-tub seemed clean and warm but did not get the chance to go into it. It is a shame the shared bikes are not available \"due to covid\".

Second stay there. Located in quiet residential area near University District. Close to Glen Echo Park for exercise and short hikes. Staff we're amazingly helpful and accommodating. Also included outdoor jacuzzi on property for relaxation.

I was pleasantly surprised during my stay here. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I loved how quiet it was at night. Parking was tricky, since there are only four spots, but the owners include a list of other parking options on their website.

The staff person was soooo accommodating it's almost beyond belief. Everything was wonderful. My GPS needed updating and he took it home updated it brought it back in a timely manner and this was all on a Sunday.

Everything was as is, as described on the website. People were all courteous and respectful of each others space and sounds/conversation/noise. Manager was friendly and helpful (thanks Robbie). Neighborhood was easy to find (uber/lyft) and safe. It’s really like walking into your home but with a group of people from different places staying together. I was also lucky I didn’t had a roommate who snored or made noises. Made sleeping hours comfortable (1030p-630a). Otherwise they have earplugs for free. Was definitely worth the money I paid for a 2 night stay. Anyone on a budget or looking for an adventure of hostel experience, this is a good place to stay in Columbus! Just a little suggestion for improvement, please have a newer working hair dryers. One upstairs I couldn’t get to work/or not working may be? And used the one downstairs. But it only had cool air.

Tiny Urban Log Cabin = Shangri La
Stayed in the Tiny Urban Log Cabin. Very cool. All amenities...it's like being at home, but you have to climb a ladder to get to bed, lol. Anyhow, everyone staying there was supercool...not a lot of hippies or college kids, actually...brainiacs with a laid-back attitude would be more like it...free laundry, free towels, hot tub, fridge with a real ice maker, free dishes, free wifi...there's even a huge power-converter and plenty of outlets for laptops or chargers or whatever in the Tiny Cabin. There is no table, however...but the main house is three steps away and it's HUGE. They even have a freaking PIANO (out of tune) and a pair of free chromebook-type large-screen computers you can jump on to check your email, read the news or write a report. The projection screen man-cave with uber-sound system was broken when I was there, but it will likely be fixed and put back to good use. Finally, you can take any bicycles; any lockers; and any CLEAN swimsuits (if you want to use the hot tub) you want, so long as you bring them back. What a great setup!! Security was top-shelf, as well, since there are NO KEYS - you only have to remember two five-digit codes - ONE to your room (or dorm or cabin) and one to the Main House. All doors swing shut immediately and lock themselves with a deadbolt as soon as you enter. Food and entertainment are within walking or cycling distance. If you're on a business trip and you need to save money and still feel at home - Bazinga!
