Check in was a nightmare, the group in front of me had their reservation cancelled without their knowledge.

Took 45 minutes at the front desk to get my room key. Door wouldn’t lock behind me, so the room would be unsecured if we left.

Shower didn’t drain.

Couch upholstery was ripped.

Elevator was shaky.

Breakfast was awful.

I don’t post reviews often, but man this was a rough stay. Only positive I have is the AC worked very well.

I arrived to check in and had to use the bathroom extremely bad. I asked the guest service person to use the facilities while he checked me in. I was told that there was no bathroom I could use without a room key. So I went across to Wendy’s to use their bathroom, then came back to check in. I let the service desk person know that the refrigerator was making noise, he said OK, and then the refrigerator kept me awake all night as nothing got done about it. There were hairs in the sink when I first arrived, and the sink faucet was loose. Otherwise, I got what I came to Ohio to get done, done..

The location of this hotel is not ideal. As soon as you get off of the highway, you can see a homeless encampment behind an abandoned building. Hilton has tried to fence around the building but there’s no denying this is a rough neighborhood. Even upon check in you are asked to sign a waiver, waiving theft or damage to your vehicle as not the hotels responsibility. Upon check in, I could hear the smoke alarm going off with a dead battery beep. We checked for bed bugs before decided if we would stay or not. Thankfully the room was pretty clean. The elevator was broken. There was mold on the cinnamon rolls in the morning. I’m fairly certain i witnessed a homeless man walk in and help himself to the breakfast. Our shampoo and body wash were empty and the replacements were plastic cups full. The staff were nice and accommodating. That’s about all the place had going for it.

The staff was so great especially Terryl, Jessica and Matt. However, I was originally put in room 309. I had to move because the toilet didn’t work. The light switch didn’t work and the shade wouldn’t go up and down. They were very accommodating. I moved to room 313 where everything was working however in room 313 the bathroom of the ceiling was falling down and had a lot of water damage.

Charged a $350usd smoking charge and I don t smoke. Having an issue getting this resolved. I am Cansdian so almost $490 and they are saying nothing they can do. Checked in at midnight, went to bed and was out early in the morning as was passing through. How does one prove that I did not smoke?

Staff were overworked and not properly trained. They were incredibly nice which made me not give the lowest possible rating. I really felt bad for the staff. Breakfast was a disaster with not enough food for the number of people who are there. There was black mold under the caulk in the bathroom tub. I had issues with keys. The front automatic door is broken. It's a shame because this is a nice location by the Columbus Expo center. They certainly have a lot of people there. It looks like the ownership is not investing in the hotel in an appropriate way to make it a good experience. It's a real shame for IGH to have their name associated with this one. It felt like a cheap motel.

Clean the front entrance from snow. There was a lot. Put some rugs to avoid slippering on wet floor, especially when there is snow outside. Open breakfast on time, or possibly few minutes early, not 5-10 minutes late.

We paid for our trip thru Hotels.com for the room when I booked it, so the room charge was taken care of before ever leaving for our trip to Columbus Ohio. When we arrived, we had to give a credit card at
check in which is the normal practice. Then the issues started. The hotel charged us again for the room we already paid for, but I was told that this was just a pending charge and that it would fall off my credit card.
This week the charge actually went thru and posted to my credit card. I called the hotel, and they gave me the run around the first day and said to call Holiday Inn Reservations. I called them and after several minutes got disconnected. The next morning, I called the hotel and was told to call hotels.com and have them call the hotel to get it reversed. When hotels.com called later that day the person at the hotel said we no showed and they could not issue a refund due to cancelation policies. WHAT!! We stayed there. Finally, a couple of days later I called the hotel manager again and got ahold of hotels.com and they got with the manager and reversed the charge. I never had such a bad experience and hassle. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILLS IF YOU STAY HERE!!!!

The staff were friendly, however the area was sketchy. I grabbed food next door and had some very weird/sketchy interactions with people in the area. The room itself was not the cleanest. There were some suspicious stains on the carpet, the room looked run down, the fridge was making a loud ticking noise, and there seemed to be a lot of cosmetic damage to the walls, paint, etc. I would not make this my first choice of hotels to stay at again.

I went to check after making my reservation months before seeing my friends. Tried to check in and was told since i left 30 miles to hotels i was not allowed to stay there. So not only due to i was 30 miles away from hotel i could stay there due to hotel rules they wanted to charge me still for the room. I just have never heard of that before. I was only trying to be close to airport and the stadium after game. Front desk employee was extremely rude about the whole things but i actually live 35 miles from hotel and still would not let me stay.

the room was fine and the hotel was fine. It advertises to be part of the Ohio Expo Center...but it is miles away from the Expo Center. Check in was fine, but at check out, the hotel could not give my elderly mother a paper receipt and I've never received a receipt via email either. We were told that was the only way to receive a receipt for payment.

I have NEVER had a terrible experience with Holiday Inns. Not until today anyway. NOTHING about this experience was what I would even call fair. I understand I came in late (just past midnight) but COME ON! Starting with the “gentleman” at the front desk had me write my email and zip code on a piece of paper that had several other guest’s emails and zip codes that plastered all over it (um…ever heard of a thing called privacy?!). Then after walking to Timbuktu to place a parking pass in my vehicle, I boarded an elevator that made me seriously question if a cable would snap at any minute. Then I get to “my” room and am greeted by the same person who checked me in, informing me that they double booked my room. He then proceeded to open the door to show me! Didn’t knock. Just let himself in. What if someone wasn’t dressed?! THEN he takes me down to another room, through an hallway LITTERED with trash (I mean all up and down the middle of the hallway…not just by the doors) and assures me it’s fine and that he will call to get me a discount for the trouble. Ok. Fine. Not 10 minutes later as I am getting into bed (because ya know…it’s late), he comes back. Why you ask? BECAUSE THERE ARE 2 MEN STANDING OUTSIDE AND I AM IN THEIR ROOM! Mind you it is now almost 1am and I am being ushered to my third room. I get in it, ac does work, curtain doesn’t close, and I’m right above the neon lights of the signage. I would seriously URGE you to NEVER stay here. Ever. Go 10 minutes up the road.

Breakfast was fine. We didn’t use the work spaces. However, the caulking in the bathroom shower was moldy and chunks of it were missing. It didn’t look clean at all. We also found several bugs crawling in the bathroom floor. The bed was awful. It was sunken in both sides and hard as a board. Extremely uncomfortable. We were very disappointed as we have stayed in Holiday Inns before and had good experiences. However the staff was very polite and friendly.

The room #114 smell like urine and mattress was very low and sink to the ground. There are spots on the sheet. Bathroom is handicapped accessible but dirty and cracks on floor. We asked to switch room and front desk Nathalie refused to switch us to a different room unless we pay 30% more. We didn’t have choice but agreed. Then she said we can’t cancel the other room because it’s booked through Expedia. We got on the call with Expedia customer service and they called the front desk for us trying to cancel the room. But Nathalie refused and she told us it has to wait for manager approval in the morning. We were not happy with the way the hotel handle the situation and decided to switch to another hotel Hayatt which is far more clean and comfortable and cheaper. Until now we still haven’t been able to get our money back. The hotel charged us two rooms and two nights. We went back to the hotel trying to talk to the manager and he refused to review the issue. I just couldn’t believe a hotel with this kind of quality and service could charge over $300 a night and the location with surrounding doesn’t seem safe. Meanwhile the Hyatt in a much nicer and convenient location (North High st) only charge $255. We are glad we finally able to cut the losses and move to Hyatt. We want to post this to let everyone know you can get a much better hotel for the money Holiday Inn Express charge you.

Really substandard holiday inn

The front desk employee refused to check for a military discount even though there is one. I walked in and the front desk was covered in a bunch creepy Halloween decor, which was not welcoming at all (which I can look past, just seemed like a lot). The elevator had trash on the floor. As soon as we got to our floor the entire floor smelled like fresh cigarette smoke. In our room the bathroom didn’t have a working light so they had stuck a desk lamp in the bathroom. Overall just a really substandard holiday Inn experience and I will not be staying here in the future.

The good thing is the Holiday Inn Express is near Ohio State stadium and the interstate.

Bad things were that the in the 4th floor we stay is still has human hair around the toilet and bathtub. The bathtub was not fully cleaned and had pink stains in corners of it and the caulking around the bathtub inside and out was nasty brown and black.

The outside of the hotel parking lot had not good lights for security and safety reasons.

Our truck bed has a secured leather protecting the bed was cut open by knife that someone must try to look inside the bed of our truck.

We arrived at the hotel late at night, and there were people hanging around in the parking lot. When we checked in we were informed that we needed to pay an extra $9 fee to park in the lot, and the form I had to sign indicated the hotel is not responsible for anything that happens to my car in their lot. The area around the property did not seem like a good area. The hotel appearance was OK in regards to cleanliness and upkeep, but small things were not kept up.

This was so bad I don’t even know where to start. Hotel was in a bad area. Parking was ridiculous. Very little parking. Outside of the hotel was unkept and a mess. Inside the hotel, the climate control was not working properly felt humid and musty. The room was not quiet. We didn’t get any sleep. Hotel is in need of updating. This was in a scary part of town did not feel safe with my kids. Wondered if I would wake up and have damage to my vehicle done overnight or car parts removed. Front desk staff sat outside and smoked constantly. They were outside more than they were inside. Every time we came in or out of the hotel, they were not at the desk. They were out front smoking.

The hotel was in a terrible area. It felt very unsafe. The entire floor smelled. In the middle of the night, 1am, there were people screaming and physically fighting. The front desk did not pick up when I called and I had to call the 800 number for them to contact someone to remove the people fighting in the hallway. The room was okay. There were stains on the walls and carpet. When I talked to the morning manager at checkout, she apologized and said she was glad she didn’t work the night shift. If I could give zero stars, I would likely do so. I am very disappointed with the stay.

Do NOT believe the nice low price. What they do NOT tell you is that you have to pay an ECO-Friendly Fee of $3.99. Huh? I asked what that meant and they did not know. At checkout I was also dismayed to find that I had to pay a $8.95 PARKING FEE. Fair enough I guess except that I do not have a CAR! They could not refund me the $8.95 at the desk, said I had to call corporate and wait 7 to 14 days for a refund. Still waiting........ And Expedia now claims that the price you see includes all taxes and fees..........Not with this one.

The hotel itself was clean. Room was comfortable. TV channel list did not match channels. My beef is with Hotels.com. I went through them to make my reservation for two nights and was only secured for one. They did fine me another hotel for my second night but I should not have to receive a phone call from my hotel telling me I have to leave the hotel when I'm in the middle of my vacation. Not a good experience.

We arrived to Columbus early for our appointment at wexner hospital so we decided to drive to the Hotel just to make sure we knew how to get there. We found it and decided to go next door to the wendys to use the bathroom.
NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. So we went to the Holiday Inn and told them that we would be checking in later; at 4pm but asked if we could use a restroom. NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. They recommended we try the Shell station across the street. NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. So we went back to the hospital to use the restroom there. After our stay a the Hotel we didnt receive a receipt a discovered an additional 15 dollar charge on our credit card. What's up with that?

I booked a room for 4 nights, Sat - Wed.
I checked in and stayed Sat nt. When I returned to sleep on Sun, my key card did not work. The desk said it had only been activieate for 1 night. It was reactiviated and I stayed the night. On Mon night at midnight, I was wakened by an attempt to enter the room using a key card. When I alerted the individuals they were confused as the room had been assigned to them. I did not stay the final night as I did not feel safe.

The location provides easy access to interstate, fair grounds, and concerts. The staff was exceptional, property was clean, and safe. Heavy traffic area and very hard to leave snd enter the property, no shuttle to airport, limited choices for breakfast and No wash cloths for majority of the visit.

I want to start with the service, the staff at the front desk was nothing short of amazing. Always friendly smiling and caring. Normally its only a good morning or have a great day, but they took the time to ask my daughter how camp was, a small personal interaction goes a long way. We had a few issues like my key stopped workng a few times, but was quickly rectified by the front desk staff. Unfortunately there were a lot of gnats and flys in the lobby, the staff was trying to address it, everytime i seen them they were cleaning something, unfortunately in heat like there was without that curtin of air at the front door its almost impossible to stop with doors that were always opening.

Overall not bad room was clean and staff was awesome.

Room was clean and exceptable. Rough area of town. Breakfast was challenge as both waffle iron and pancake maker were broken and eggs were barely cooked.

We went down for breakfast @ 9. They were out of almost everything and they didn’t offer to make extra eggs, bacon, sausage gravy. They said another group of people had eaten 3-4 plates of food and they ran out. This is unacceptable to me.
Check out was at 11:00 why should I have to hurry down before the food runs out. They could have made more food and restricted those who had multiple plates.
