We checked in at 4;30pm to the hotel and our room was not cleaned and ready. Check in is at 3 so not sure why the delay. We sat in the lobby for 45 min waiting for our room. The lobby was very cold due to doors constantly opening & shutting.

I was wrongly accused of smoking in my room by either another guest or the house cleaning staff. I know the rules and have never smoked in any hotel room ive ever stayed in. The parking charges are also ridiculous. I wont be staying at the blackwell in the future. That being said, the staff in the breakfast buffet area of the hotel was excellent. They were the bright spot of the trip for us.

The moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with kindness. The seasonal decorations were cheerful and classy. The room was clean with a fun view of the OSU football stadium. I took dinner in the lounge and enjoyed the lively conversation of the bartender with guests ranging from philosophical literature to travel to Vincent Price. The food was delicious btw. In the morning, I went for breakfast at 6:30am, and the young man working in the restaurant was very hospitable and attentive to my early morning coffee and breakfast needs. I would stay again, and I plan to explore other properties.

Stay room was clean/organized. Basic layout and amenities, it was ok for just an overnight stay. Bed and bedding were comfortable. Having bottled water available, in the mini-fridge, and a simple snack assortment (nuts, granola bar, crackers, etc.) would be a nice touch. Quick and easy interaction with front desk staff for check in/out, the three I interacted with were kind and helpful. The attached restaurant had a very nice breakfast buffet, the vouchers provided for that meal were greatly appreciated. Food was fresh and tasty. Perfect spread for a morning buffet. Staff were friendly, as well.
My main concern and biggest complaint would be the lack of snow removal and salting done to the walkways and car pull-through/valet area, directly INTO the hotel at the front entrace/overhang. I witnessed a couple people slip and almost fall, including myself, while entering the main doors, where the valet sits. The tile section between the carpets was extremely slick/wet. The walkways in the immediate area by the entrance should have been cleared much better than they were, at the very least the area right in front of the entrance.
