The bathroom doors are terrible. (Sliding Glass Doors)They look great, but you don't have any privacy. There isn't any vent in the bathroom, so I was stuck all weekend with High protein diet eaters for the Arnold with no relief from the sounds or smells. No ventilation in the room period, so it just stank. Property looks great and the staff was super awesome. Just those 2 things really kinda ruined it for me.

The restaurant on top is great! Make sure to book a reservation. Great local close to the Short North area. Also right across the street from the North Market

My only suggestion is to request a room opposite of the highway side (rt 71). It’s loud at night with the highway

Parking sucks if you dont use there valet parking, 40 $a night to park your vehical after spending lots of money for a room itself. Breakfast only looks fancy, tastes better then mcdonalds though. My name is Taminka Malloy; it was my daughter (Ariana') 21st birthday. We wanted to take a girl's trip to somewhere we could have fun and be safe. I decided to book and nice hotel; that was in a safe location; with security. I looked at the reviews and what others had to say. I was very pleased; I called to ask about the location and what was offered. I was wanting a place that we would be safe and would be able to fun.
When I told them it was my daughter's 21st birthday; they were a really big help. When I found out there was a roof top lounge and bar; I knew this was the place for us! I booked immediately. My daughter had never been to one; she's always wanted to go. I wanted her to have the best time but still stay with in my budget. The price was great; along with valet parking, I didn't have to worry about my new truck being broken into or stolen.
My daughter was very excited about the room and everything in it! I was excited also; the staff was very nice, kind, and respectable. Our room was on the 7th floor, right below the roof top lounge on the 8th floor. It was clean and no bugs, peeling wallpaper, mold smell, dirty sheets, or unsavory things we've seen in the past.
Our experience at the roof top lounge was excellent! We didn't have a reservation, and it was packed. We didn't mind because the atmosphere was great; no fighting, arguing, too loud music, or sloppy drunks. We had comped drinks and the food was GREAT! The wait staff was nice and helpful with the menu. ; )

The bed was not comfortable, very noisy every time you moved. The vent in the room was noisy when the a/c kicked on. I was very disappointed that I paid for 2 nights of secure parking only to find out that 34 cars had their windows smashed. My window miraculously was not. However, someone from behind the desk, who seemed franctic handed me my car keys on the way out as there was no valet present. I was not yet aware of what happened. He did not offer any warning or tell me what happened which I thought was very poor.

Overall, my stay was very good – the hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the lack of soundproofing. Hotel was very clean and staff seemed to be helpful and polite for the most part. There was no AC in the executive suite and was informed there was an HVAC problem and they were trying to fix it. A box fan from maintenance was the fix and the room stayed close to 80 degrees the entire stay. I was later told that I wouldn’t be charged for the room but instead they charged my card a second time at the hotel for the amount of the room and then credited that amount back. The original payment I made through hotels.com I was still charged for so they didn’t actually do anything except make it appear as if I had been credited for the room. The physical hotel itself is not bad if your HVAC is working properly. The whole ordeal with charging me a second time and refunding that to make it initially appear as if I was receiving compensation for the stay with money I was already owed is petty, low and disrespectful. That’s not how any customer should be treated and frankly I’m shocked that this is a representation of the Marriott hotel managerial staff.

We werr in town for our sons graduation from OSU and our stay ended on a disappointing note. The roof top restaurant bar was unexpectedly closed for maintenance on our 2nd night of our two night stay. This was very dispointing due to the fact that my wife and I planned to have dinner and drinks with our son here after hid graduation. This was the whole reason that i booked this specific hotel. We had to change our plans very last minute and most restaurants were already booked.

Beware of charges and fees

Our stay was good. The hotel was nice but I will say a little upset about charges I wasn’t aware of. We booked a hotel last minute for my daughter’s tournament in Columbus no where did I see the vallet charge or it was required. So the first night we were charged for it and the second night charged double for it because her dad (who is in the army came to visit and watch her games). We also tipped so that alone this weekend was $100. We also paid for the extra breakfast charge and Saturday they were unable to offer and had to close the breakfast area due to plumbing issues. So why did we still have to pay? When I asked they said because they still offered coffees and muffins in the lobby that day.

We had no issues with the hotel itself during our stay. Unfortunately when we woke up in the morning over 10 cars had been broken into including ours. Multiple items stolen from multiple vehicles. The hotel and valet staff didn’t do much to help. They put trash bags over the windows and told us to file a police report. That’s it. No help from the hotel or compensation for the damages/lost items. To top it off. This is not the first time this has happened here.

Starting with the good… Location, the staff, and the parking. Lumin (the bar) was particularly awesome.
The bad…the room. It looks modern, but the wall paper was lifting at every seam, even coming off in some areas. The toilet seat was so loose, it made you feel like you would fall off, and the shower pressure was super light. I was quite surprised. It also had a stale smell… like maybe it was a smoking room at one point t in the past. We stayed in 319, so avoid that one if you are sensitive to scents.

Lovely room / charged for parking

Our room was quite lovely! Bed wasn’t bad, had a pretty good night’s sleep. Huge shower. Check in/Day staff was so friendly. Six or seven minute walk to Nationwide Arena so that was great, since we were watching a concert there. The $39 charge for ‘valet’ parking (which was someone parking your car into a spot right next to the valet stand) was a bit much. Why ya going to charge to have your guests park in the hotel parking lot? That part was a bit ridiculous, otherwise we had a nice stay.

There's a bar across the street on the Park St. side that was blaring music until 3am on Saturday evening. It was fine on Friday. Location is excellent, 5 minute walk to the convention center. Staff was friendly and Ian at the desk especially represented your property and Marriott name very well. He was welcoming and informative. Michelle made my morning with a big bright smile and Happy Birthday song during breakfast.

Nice touches like dried lavender to put in small bags one evening.

If You have trouble sleeping, ask for a room on other side (we were in 404) music at bars was very very loud on Saturday until 2 AM. Thursday, Friday nice and quiet. There was also an Ohio game that day so that could have added to it.
