Rooms are very old, you can feel that no renovation have been made for 10-15 years. Furniture is very shabby, half of light switches and sockes do not work. The room rate included cleaning only one time for 4 days, if you want additional cleaning you have to pay and be lucky that cleaning staff is avalable that day. Nonsence. You can't even closely compare to the lower level and cheaper hotels in Asia, Middle east and Turkey.

Our second stay in the Goldstar was even better than the first (except they no longer have the lovely pool). We had a two room suite, which was well equipped, comfortable and reasonably quiet. Cleaning services are available if required. The location is perfect for the beach and access to the many shopping areas and restaurants. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the central train station if you want to visit nearby resorts, such as the wonderful Beaulieu sur Mer, Villefranche, Antibes etc. Another advantage is that it is very close to Alsace Lorraine tram station, which is a few stops away from the airport. We love it.

Shower was leaking , room was very old and dirty, room cleaning is every 4 days, not enough supply, refrigerator wasn’t working, spider web was all over the room no plastic for trash can, iron was t working, safe wasn’t getting locked, only 1 elevator was working which you had to wait 7-10 mins every time you want to use elevator, not enough towels in a shower for 4 people. Simply waste of money. I wouldn’t go back here

Non smoking property that smells horrible … even my close smelled bad after I got home and took my close out. The sheets in sleeper sofa were used and they did nothing to change them when I call. Just that they were going to tell housekeeping . They didn’t offer a discount or apology….

Nice service. Great location with dining options, proximity to the beach and grocery store. Nice room / suite, but the electric socket covers (wall plate) were not properly fixed (none of them) - they would fall from the weight of the cables plugged. The parking lot under the building has extremely narrow passages - very high risk of scraping any car other than mini coopers. There is a Meyer Parking down the street that maybe better.

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights.... The hotel is a great place to stay! The room was very quiet and provided lots of space to spread out and enjoy anytime spent in the room! A mini kitchen was perfect for a few quick meals (with a small grocery just 1 block away!). Would be nice if the hotel had a towel in the kitchen for drying the dishes though. The hotel was just 3 blocks for the seaside which was a quick walk.

Staff were great. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel has parking but like they don’t have. The bigger cars can’t enter. The front desk agent speaks poor English, but has so much questions. Room is nice and clean, but be ready that somebody enter the room when you are not there.

We loved the location and the quiet. We were three so the suite style set up gave us much needed room-with a wonderfully spacious bathroom! The only thing we missed was no restaurant for early coffee or breakfast/just a coffee machine in the lobby.They did not have updated coffee machines in the room which made it feel a bit/ little outdated with old coffee pots being provided. Good coffee machines have become a standard and was definitely missed here. The room and beds were great--really comfortable. If you are looking for quiet and comfort--you'll be happy!

Went back to Nice and to this hotel after 12 years. Chose to return to this place because we were happy with the spaciousness and mini kitchen.

We were upgraded to a bigger one bedroom suite which was huge. We brought food to eat in for dinner a couple of nights and so made good use of the kitchen facilities: microwave, plates and dishwasher. The chairs by the little dining table were so comfortable we didn't even use the couch.

Bathroom was big with a separate toilet. There was no conditioner or lotion so we bought conditioner.

We were not explained the housekeeping process during check-in, so we were surprised to find the suite not cleaned the next day. It is complimentary once every 3 days so we requested it for the second day of our 3 night stay.

Location is excellent, a few blocks from the beach and the area is full of restaurants, mini markets, a few blocks from a carrefour and boulangerie. It's a slightly long walk to the old town area.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet. Some streetnoise late into Saturday night but nothing bad.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and would come back here if we're in Nice again!

Cons: We'd have liked a coffee machine in the kitchen especially since we were eating breakfast in every morning.

We stayed in room 208. Location is good. In the center of Nice, close to the beach, the Promenade, many restaurants and shops. There's a good grocery store nearby. If you do not speak French, most of the shops and restaurants have people who speak English. Quiet, easy to sleep, air conditioning works well, so does hot water.
The suite was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. But there were a few little things that, if added, would have made it excellent. So I am adding this to help the owners.
First, when I booked the room it said that bath robes were available upon request. When I checked in, they said they had no bath robes. Second, there are a few small details that would help greatly improve the experience.
I say this about almost every hotel, but there are never enough hooks or racks to dry towels. No hook or ring to hang the hand towel near the sink. It's such a quick and inexpensive thing, why don't hotels provide them?
Also, the bath/shower has no curtain or enclosure. A small bath mat and no enclosure means a slippery floor which is a hazard. Water gets everywhere, so one has to be careful.
The electric towel rack is nice, but not big enough for 2 towels folded in half. You need to fold them by quarter width-wise and stuff them into the space.
The apartment has a small kitchenette, with a two-burner range and a microwave, impossible to wash dishes without hitting your head. A small toaster oven would good.
Cleaning once a week. Need more hangers for clothes.

A clean spacious comfortable room but I believe this property needs some serious remodeling and upgrading to be a 4 star property. There was a big stain on the couch in the main area that we ended up putting a bedding sheet on it to cover it.
I will give it 3 out of 5.

We were happy to find this place pretty last minute, and reasonably priced compared to other properties in Nice. Having a small kitchen is a must on long trips, and we found multiple small grocery stores within 2-4 minutes walk from the hotel. Loads of bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants and shops nearby, laundromat on the next corner and only a few blocks from the beach. Great location, very safe to walk around and very central. Street parking is basically unavailable, so we opted to pay for underground parking from the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Nice :)

It is a very dirty, cheap & inconveniences place to stay. IT IS NOT A HOTELL but a very nasty small studios like a shack. Dirty pillows, beds & towels. They do not clean & neither have a person to clean or fix a problem, only a person at an office in the first floor. Towels & beds don’t get clean or is changed daily. You can schedule a clean up once during a stay ( we stayed 4-5 days & did not get a cleaning service)
I DONOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
By the way the air condition doesn’t work & has no handyman on the site to fix any problems; no lights in hallways unless you walk in the dark about 35 seconds & ….
Do not use this facility.

We couldn’t leave the windows open because of the streets noise.We didn’t have even water available in the room. No room service at all. We had to chase them for clean towels. We were upgraded to the largest suite which was a lovely surprise. It had 2 bedrooms,2 bathrooms and a large lounge with small kitchen. Room was really quiet; we never heard any doors banging etc and it was well located with shops and restaurants close by. I would highly recommend the Goldstar Suites Nice.

Spacious and very quiet suite with a very comfortable bed, super black-out curtains. The only snafu was that the AC was not working, luckily after the first night the temps in Nice dropped and they brought in a fan, but if it had been a bit warmer it could have been a problem. This property is in very convenient neighborhood, close enough to all the main sights but just on the edge of the madness so it is quiet at night.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. If you are looking for plenty of space and a good location at a good price, this is a good choice. We really appreciated the extra room of a suite and being three blocks from the beach and just a few blocks from the old town. Downsides: Property has seen better days; not dirty or rundown, just a bit worn. Suite kitchen very small; I wouldn’t plan on doing any real cooking there. But fridge and microwave provide for simple food storage and prep. Overall, could be disappointing if you’re seeking/expecting luxury. But great if just want slave and convenient location.

The pros- the location of the hotel is fantastic. It's a short walk from the beach, transporation, sightseeing, good restaurants, etc. It's a clean property and the bed was comfortable.
The cons- the place lacks any character. It feels like a Motel 6 which really takes away from the experience of being in the French Riviera. Also, even though it was supposed to be a nonsmoking room and property, our hall wreaked of cigarette smoke which permeated our room. Management did nothing about it. We would not stay here again. Find something better.

Location is good, 5min walk to subway station to Nice Airport, 5 min walkvto beach, 10 min walk to train station, grocery store supermarket restaurants are all within 5 min walk.
I dont think its good idea to have a rental car for nice or any nearby towns like Eze, Cannes, Monaco, or even further day trip. So near public transportation is important and this hotel location serves it.
We reserved for a suite that advertised at expedia with a king bed and a queen bed, but the hotel front fesk told me it actually non existing, its not "and" its "or". I dont know why and what I paid for. Its an apartel, limited service, but room size is about 40 sq mtrs very large for a regular Eruopea hotel rooms.
I did asked about parking, which is 25 euro per day, I ended up did not use parking, instead, I pick up a rental car in the morning from the train station, drive out of Nice and stayed in a town far away for a night and then returned the car next evening to the Train station. But when check out, the hotel front desk asked me to pay for hotel parking, I told them I didnt use hotel parking as I didnt have had a car for Nice.

The rooms are awesome we great a room for 4 has private master bedroom attached to the large bathroom, a mini kitchen and large common living room with the most comfortable pull out bed I have ever been on. Equally great is the pool, spa area and the morning breakfast. In a great location with awesome restaurants, grocery and the coast is only 2 blocks away. The staff were great and helped us with everything from restaurant selections to taxi service. We will be staying here next trip back. Excellent value!

A bit dated, location was great.

The location of the hotel was excellent... only two blocks from the beach and a few blocks to the pedestrian-only old city district with lots of restaurants, shopping, and sites. The hotel itself is a bit dated, like something out of the 80’s, although it was clean and comfortable. The lighting was horrible in the bathroom, making hard see while applying makeup or styling hair, and we had some issues with the shower head staying in place. We reserved a junior suite and it was nice to have a small kitchen and a living room area, where we shared wine and appetizers with friends prior to heading out for the evening. The package we had included breakfast, which was worth it for the package deal, but I would have been disappointed if we spent the full 20 euros for it. The pool area and common area were ok, but again, it bit dated.

It was easy to get to everything around Nice. Was a little sad that the rooftop bar was not open in the evening when we wanted to watch the sunset. The room was ideal for 3 adults. The sofa bed was very comfortable but the main bed was a little hard. The staff was very accommodating to all our needs. They where very accommodating to all the Ironman participants stay for the week. My handicap wife had no problems getting around hotel.

Location was good. Room was large but had plumbing issues. Overall hotel was not very appealing and not in tip-top shape. Felt a bit motel like. Staff was ok but not very helpful with navigating the town or communicating important information. Plumbing issues never addresses and room cleaning was cursory at best. Pool was small but appreciated. Would look to find other accommodations if ever in Nice again.

Pro: location good for train, beach, old city. Breakfast had a good assortment.
Con: Air conditioning didn’t work. Told
Front desk, they couldn’t do anything or switch room as hotel was booked they said. Gave me 3 fans which was severely uncomfortable for young kids in Europe summer. They had a technician come in next day who disconnected switches and didn’t fix probalem. Front desk apologized and said I should just email their office. I did and never heard back. Be aware of you want to be conformtable in a hotel room with AC.

We liked the pool as it was covered, but it does need maintenance.
There needs to be a lot more sunshades/parasols though.
We do not like the large terracotta Chinese statues in the hallways as they are scary when you get out of the lift particularly in the dark.
Overall the holiday was very nice and calm.

The suite was very good. Lots of room, decent size bathroom and a small kitchen was handy too.

Hotel is in a great location 5 mins walk to Place Masséna and 5 minute walk to the train station. Rooms were a good size and great to have the small kitchenette, bathrobe & slippers were a nice touch. Great to have use of the rooftop pool after a day in the city. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel just drinks at the rooftop pool one of the afternoons. Lovely friendly staff. Would we return, yes definitely.

Extremely clean and comfortable, close to the promenade, restaurants, shops, train station. Our only negative was that we were on the first floor, looking onto Rue Maréchal Joffre, and there was traffic noise occasionally so if we revisit, we’d ask for a room on a higher floor.

This was our first visit to Nice where we were based to attend the F1 race in Monaco. The Hotel was well positioned within a 10 minute walk to the Railway Station with god connections to Monaco. The staff at the Hotel were all very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Goldstar Resort & Spa. We hope to be back in the future.

Certainly a comfortable hotel, the staff were friendly and courteous. Good location, ten minutes either direction to beach or train station. Room layout is different to what you might expect but not in a bad way! The furniture in the restaurant could be improved as it doesn’t fit with the rest of the hotel.
