The first written record of this building dates back to 1372 when it was owned by the Mayor of Hradcany. Now completely reconstructed and refurbished to a very high standard, this charming hotel retains many original architectural features complemented by luxurious modern facilities.

Located in Mala Strana, guests are just a 10-minute walking distance from Charles Bridge and some 25 minutes from the Old Town across the Vltava River. A fantastic base from which to explore the many delights that Prague has to offer.

After a full day's sightseeing or business, guests can enjoy fine Czech and International cuisine in the onsite restaurant, followed by relaxing drinks in the lobby bar area. All the guest rooms and suites are individually furnished with replicas of original period furniture and all modern amenities.

The service at this property was truly exceptional.
The location is excellent !

The hotel appears to have been newly renovated, as everything was impeccably clean. All were greatly appreciated.

Considering all these factors, the value for money was outstanding. I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Santorini!

Bed bugs infestation! Horrible experience

The hotel had bed bugs. We found the first bed bug on the pillow and then a second crawling across the bed. Brought both bugs, and photos to the hotel. They refused to do anything other than change the sheets. We went back to the room, and looked at the mattress. We found more bed bugs. The night manager told us that there was nothing he could do, even though he acknowledged there were bed bugs. He even said they’d put somebody else in that very room the next day.
At that point, we did not feel comfortable staying there. We left and paid for a room at another hotel.
The next day, we were told by Golden Star that they’d change our room. We went to look at the new room and also found all of the signs on that bed that there bed bugs as well. It was evident that the hotel has an infestation problem they’re refusing to deal with. The hotel refused to provide a refund and the manager/owners refused to talk to us. This was the worst hotel experience by far and ruined the start of our honeymoon. We were left scrambling to find new hotels last minute, and did not receive the refund.

I rarely leave review, but Manolis was super accommodating . Helped us with many things throughout our 3 nights stay there. The room is sparkly clean everytime we come back. Room is beautiful and has reallly nice views of the ocean. Actually one of the rare hotels that looks better in person. Highly recommended

Lovely hotel! Stayed in a maisonette room for three nights and loved it. Staff are so friendly and polite (sadly I didn’t get any names), but they were great! The room itself was really nice and modern. One thing to add is the ceiling in the bedroom part of the maisonette is really low - not really a negative but just something to bear in mind. Pool towels were provided and whilst there’s no bar they do sell drinks in the reception area from a drinks cart. Pool area is amazing and always quiet. Loved the balcony - sea views (non caldera) are really nice (not as breathtaking as some of the hotels that charge an extortionate amount per night, but still great). Overall amazing value for money and couldn’t recommend anymore. Location is a real asset - just at the top of the hill from the hotel (quite a steep one that is manageable for those who are fit and able) is Fira square and the bus station is a 5 minute walk away, so you can get the bus to the port/airport, or to one of the beaches. The hotel are also happy to arrange transfers

Lovely stay at Golden Star hotel!

We had a lovely stay here. We were greeted by the male receptionist who’s there in the evenings; he was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. He answered all our queries and gave us lots of information. We had a bit of an issue with our room and didn’t get the suite we originally booked, but that was fine because we were really happy with the room we got as it still had a sea view. Hotel was so squeaky clean everywhere and it’s quite brand new. Our room and bathroom were cleaned spotless everyday. It’s a quiet hotel on a quiet street, which we loved and we loved being able to relax by the pool which wasn’t too busy either despite us going in August. Room was very spacious and very modern. Loved it!

It’s in a really good location, quiet area but at a walking distance from the city centre, the walk is a bit up hill but everything there seems to be. The service was exceptional! The owners are on site and are very accommodating. We were even given another night in a 30 minute span of checking out. A mix of Greek and English are spoken. The views were outstanding!

This was reasonably cheap for Fira but still on the expensive side. It has a pool and some views of ocean beyond the car park and dual carriageway (not sunset side).
The decor and facilities are outdated and the worst was staff, I tried phoning the hotel 3x to ask about best way to travel from port to hotel and each time the lady on the phone just kept putting the phone down on me.
On checkout day our ferry was cancelled due to bad weather, hotel just told us they have no rooms and nothing they can do. Other hotels helped their guests find alternative accommodation and also said if rooms were cancelled they could offer it to them. We wasted more then half a day in stress looking for alternative but ended up with a cheaper and much better place in Kamari.

Dirty hotel

This might have been the most disgusting hotel ever.
1st the drain in the middle of the bathroom floor has dirty water sitting in it & smells so bad, every time you turn on any water it filled up.
2nd the shower looked dirty & grimey, we did not want to stand in it w/ our bare feet.
3rd the pool was the best feature, but had garbage in it.
Also every time I asked for pool towels she would give me the run around & tell me they were outside & they were never there. It was also very loud in the morning (I think the staff setting up for breakfast) but lots of banging & stomping which woke us up very early every morning. Great location, bad hotel, can find others that are cleaner in the area.

Hello I am writing this message to express my disappointment with this reservation . I’ve waited till the end of my 3 week long vacation to express how unsatisfied I was . During my stay at the “ hotel “ from august 16th till the 20th I was surprised to see ants all over the corners of the room upon my arrival ( see attached pictures). My boyfriend and I were quite frankly disgusted. We told the hotel clerk and she said it’s ant season because it’s summer. Let me tell you that they were nesting in that room and there was so many of them! They were “swept” the following morning (aug 18). On the morning of the 19th , I spotted a very OLD lollipop under my bed stuck to the floor with ANTS on it ! I did not take a picture because on my way out to go tell the hotel clerk, the cleaning lady was at my door and I told her and she begged me not to tell and that she would remove it. I mean do they clean with their eye closed ? I am asking a partial or full refund because this hotel didn’t even reach the minimal of my expectation and it was quite disgusting

The location is near a the Fira bus stop and the sunrise view is amazing.

Good location in Fira. Only a 5 minute walk to the cliff side with all the restaurants, cafes and picturesque views. Pool was perfect for mid day when it got too hot to explore. The rooms were decent size and clean

Great location friendly staff. Only a few issues, firstly the access to an iron it was never returned from another customer so did not get it. Shower was quite small even for a small person would have loved for a bigger space or maybe a glass wall rather than a curtain.

It was great staying at the Golden Star hotel. The reception team is awesome. It took me less than10 minutes to complete the formalities. The reception team is really helpful. The room was nice and clean.

The only issue with the room was there was no lock or latch to the toilet door.

Well located 300 mts from center but at the end of it. Not far from bus station but a little hard with luggage. Need to improve cleaning on the room, we found hair from previous guests on the bed. The bathroom is really small and was very difficult to get s shower. Apart from that frontdesk is open til late and we were very welcome. Received our room at 2pm as the rules stated but we could left the bags on the reception.

The swimming pool was very clean and clean towels was waiting on the pool side every morning. I can recommend to everybody to stay there for a pleasant holiday.

Had a perfect view of the sea (you can watch the sunrise) and it’s conveniently located near the bus station (8 min walk). The rooms are basic and did include a mini fridge, which was nice. The hotel was clean and tidy. In general this is an affordable and basic place to stay, but my experience was not anything to rave about.

Pool was great and as noted, close proximity to Fira square and the Caldera area was excellent. No lifts so just need your muscles and this fact should not be a detraction just be prepared.

We had a wonderful experience at Golden Star. Great rooms with stunning poolside views and only a short 5 min walk up into the town center. A good choice for us to stay a little out of the chaos of town.
The bathroom is tiny but does the job it is meant to. The bed was a little hard but that’s also not necessarily a bad thing!

Overall, for the amount of money we paid for a room in Fira in February we were very happy with Golden Star. Things which we valued were being an easy walking distance to the views and the eating opportunities of Fira, the generous sized car park (although the crossover at the kerb was not so easy to navigate) the reverse cycle aircon, the fridge in the room and the size of the room which was compact but not crowded. And it had the basics, it was clean, the mattresses were fine, the staff were friendly and helpful, the wifi was mostly stable and acceptably fast, and the towels were good.
There were aspects which were not so good, but were not dealbrakers. Our room had a door which sticks against the floor as it closes so is sometimes quite tricky to open or close. The frosted glass door on the \"semi private\" bathroom is a bit weird for a triple room even for a family, the shower is small and has a not entirely satisfactory curtain arrangement, the sheets were surprisingly small, and it was quite dark and a couple of the lights in our room did not work.
But we weren't there much except to sleep and as a base for visiting Santorini we felt good about coming home there each night

Mario is the best, hotel not so much

The bed was brutal, tiny room and shower did not drain. We were in 4 inches of water every shower. The only saving grace was front desk operator Mario who gave us great suggestions and hooked us up with great prices for stuff like car rentals.

Nice hotel but in need of some maintenance.

None of the lights except one little one worked in our room, the bathroom had a real funky smell coming from the drain and our \"sea view\" was blocked by a tree right next to our balcony. Other than that was in a good location and the swimming pool was very nice.

Wonderful hotel and great location

This hotel is wonderful! The facilities and pool are great, a lovely relaxing place to spend your days at Santorini and only a 2 min walk from the centre of town and all the restaurants. Not to mention they offer port and airport transfers. The host Mario is absolutely delightful and went above and beyond to help us with any question or query that we had. He is worth his weight in gold alone, especially for first time travellers to Santorini, he explained to us all the good spots to visit.

Pool is amazing. Spa didn't work. Room very small, uncomfortable bed. Very small and dirty shower. The tap in the shower would go from burning hot to cold and no pressure and part of the toilet broke during our stay.

OK hotel for a short stay

The hotel is relatively close to the bus station - about 10 min walk, but there is no sidewalk, you need to walk on the road, and if with heavy suitcase the walk is not so pleasant. Hotel staff is a total disaster - poor English, no customer service, do not require ID for registration - a teenage girl gave us the key, showed us the room and never showed any interest in us as guests during our 3-day stay. When we were checking out the same teenage girl and her friend were watching TV on the reception and didn't pay any attention. Our room was prepaid online so they were fine. In 3 days they only fixed our room on the first night, then they only collected the trash and didn't fix the beds. The hotel is OK, nothing special, but clean, hot water, and basic stuff. It is good for one or two nights, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays. We were there in February, so the pool was empty, probably in the summer it looks better. The hotel was fully booked by a group of teenage boys returning at 3am making hell of a noise. The hotel staff wouldn't care. The reception was open until 8pm so nobody was there at night. We were told to keep your key throughout our stay, so there was no staff to attend to that.
We haven't tried the breakfast so no idea how it is. There is a 24/7 bakery 15 min walk down the road from the hotel which offers delicious bakery, confectionery items and coffee - so I would strongly recommend it for breakfast, afternoon coffee or late night snack.

Room was very clean, we booked a premium room with sea view. Wouldn't say the room is \"premium\" in anyway, but we didn't spend much time there. About a 10 minute walk to Fira, uphill which is to note for anyone with mobility issues. Pool was the main reason we booked, so nice to have especially in hot santorini with few beaches. Staff were helpful. Transfer service to/from port and airport was 15€ for two of us, the driver was punctual and friendly! Would recommend as a cost saving room in Fira.

Rooms were very small. Could hardly move once you had two people in them with two bags. The room and bathroom were quite old however very clean. Balcony with a sea view and view of the pool was great. Fridge but no kettle. The pool is large with great sunbathing chairs and lounges
