The Restaurant let us down by delaying our order and keeping us waiting for 40 minutes due to a technical delay in the kitchen. The staff did go into service recovery mode, which was great to see, however it did spoil the whole occasion as I was celebrating my birthday dinner. Also, when arranging an early morning airport transfer, we were promised a food box to take with us at 4 am. Upon checkout, the food box never arrived! Not a major issue, but if you say something, then honour it.

Seldom does one rave, a modern-day verb, in such glowing terms about any hotel, more's the pity, but the MOP really is wonderful. The hotel is, perhaps, not quite up to the normal glitzy MO standard but that matters not and, in my opinion, it's an advantage. I had many issues with all staff especially front desk. Our room was delayed after 4:30 ppm we got the room however it wasn't what i expected or paid for. They had to change our room and it took them more than two hours. They gave me a bottle of wine to compensate---didn't drink it! Left it there. The concierge couldn't print an email I needed. Overall, I overpaid for a bad experience-- I'm not a FAN at all.

#1 hotel in Prague

Loved every minute of my stay. Received a warm greeting by the doorman and all other staff afterwards. While waiting for my room, it was pleasant to unwind in the bar with local wine. The suite was very clean and fully stocked with beverages, both hot and cold options. Bedding was clean, soft and had a firm mattress that was very comfortable. If you have the opportunity to utilize their spa services, I highly recommend. It is the perfect antidote to stressful travel. Courteous staff, soothing environment followed encompassed with great amenities to put one at ease. The location of the hotel is also a huge bonus. So close to everything you would want to see while visiting Prague. And yet you don't hear or feel like you are in the center during your stay. I will be staying here again in the future.

Subtle, quiet, luxurious but forgettable

it was a weekend trip, I was between this place or the Four Seasons. the location is nice, only a short walk from Charles bridge. the area is remarkably quiet near embassies. the entrance to the hotel is very narrow for a car. it did not seem very busy that weekend. I saw more personnel than guests. I picked the terrace room which is through several corridors from the lobby it was spacious, however never ended up using the terrace much. room service food was adequate not that many options for late night. The T.V is really boring, no options of any Hollywood or new movies to watch, just regular T.V plus a clunky Bluetooth connection for airplay. only one restaurant at hotel and one bar by the lobby. A good escape from the noise of the busy streets only few minutes away, however there was no wow factor, Also it seems they have a nice spa unfortunately did not have time to try but I saw the facilities briefly and their extensive menu of treatments. I would rather try a new place on my next visit to Prague, t's a nice hotel overall and for those looking for discreet subtle option in prague.

This is a great luxury hotel situated in the heart of Prague’s Lesser Town. Just a 4 minute walk from the Charles bridge. The hotel and rooms are immaculate as you would expect from the MO brand. The hotel is fashioned around an old monastery and seems to have been jury rigged around a number of old buildings so you have to meander your way around to get to some rooms.
The service was excellent. Daniel at Spices gave us great suggestions for places to eat (don’t worry, we ate at Spices too!) and was very accommodating. Tomas, the concierge, was also helpful and gracious.
The hotel is very quiet. Some may say too quiet. There is no “hustle and bustle” and the bar and restaurant were nearly empty most times. We prefer bustle and the hum of a busy restaurant/bar, so went to other places for dinner 2 of the 3 nights. I suggest looking into Next Door at the Imperial.
I expect people go to MO hotels for privacy and peace and quiet. The hotel is very understated that way. The lobby is minimalist and there is no “showiness” to the premises. It’s all simple elegance. Don’t expect a grand entrance with hanging chandeliers. Even the bar is laid back.
Food at Spices is very good and not overpriced. The bartender, Nik, makes a great Pisco Sour.

The service was outstanding from the time i arrived at the hotel to check out. I am not good at packing as some of my clothes were creased when I arrived and these were pressed and back in my room in under an hour. I went back to the room at the time we had agreed and they were already hung up in the wardrobe. I have stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in New York which is a very different property but the standard of service is consistent at both locations. I also really liked tha fact that all of the rooms in Prague are unique.
In summary, i will definitely stay at Mandarin Oriental hotels if there is one at my destination.

Wow! A beautiful, serene hotel and experience in gorgeous Prague. We loved the hotel from the beautiful room to the amazing staff (front desk, concierge, wait staff and housekeeping were all prompt, polite, gracious and efficient). Perfect location. The concierge set us up with a fabulous guide, great reservations and a wonderful evening at the theatre. One of our best weekend trips!

We fell in love with the city and would definitely hope to stay at the Mandarin when we return some day.

Great hotel with attentive service. We were in Praque on the hottest day of the year so far. Every time we returned back to the hotel, we were greeted with a bottle of iced water. The staff were friendly and they always greeted the guests with smiles. It is really hard not to enjoy the experience. Love the location, the park next door is nice!

Terrible value for money

There is nothing inherently wrong with the Mandarin Oriental in Prague. However, at a rate of $700/night for a room with a terrace, the value for money is really not there. Furthermore, if you've stayed in other Mandarin properties around the world, you are guaranteed to be disappointed.

The staff are excellent, impeccably trained and very helpful. Likewise, the location is excellent, within a couple minutes walk of Charles Bridge, but not so close for the noise or number of people to be an annoyance.

However, outside of the location and staff, there's really nothing good about the hotel. The Spices restaurant serves a poor buffet breakfast - the food is left for hours and if you're a late starter you'll be eating luke warm food that's been sitting there for hours. Furthermore, it's not included in the room rate, so you will be paying a premium for what is a rubbish buffet breakfast.

The room was comfortable. However, we paid an extra $100 for a terrace that was roughly 1 sq metre and with a giant bush that completely blocked out any view. Absolutely disgraceful to pay a premium for this. Last but not least, Wifi is an extra charge. If it was 2012, this might be acceptable but at $700 a night to be charged for Wifi is simply unacceptable.

Overall while the Mandarin is an ok hotel, there are likely 100 hotels in the city that are better value for money with service and facilities as good, if not better.

We hoped Mandarin Oriental would be the highlight of our hotel stays in Prague. It turned out to be anything but a highlight.

The shower room door doesn't seem to be properly sealed. After I came out of the shower, I found water all over the floor and I had to use towels and my bathroom to soak the water. The sealing seems damaged due to water leakage. It seems our room was not the only one with that problem.

Being a restaurant with its root in Hong Kong and a menu that claims to be authentic Asian, we were appalled at what we found at Spices when the dishes came out. Peking duck looks like skinless duck meat wrapped in spring roll. One key characteristic of peking duck was its crispy skin. Where was the skin?? It's supposed to be served in hoisin sauce, not some plum sauce. The Chinese teas were not of Chinese brand either. Despite explicitly asking not to make the Thai soup too spicy, it still came out with strong spicy after taste.

Very disappointed with their restaurant, we asked the front desk to make a reservation for us at another restaurant. We were told they would call back later. No confirmation call arrived that night. And why couldn't front desk call the restaurant directly?

When we were checking out, a staff member offered to help with our luggage, we didn't want to burden her with two heavy suitcases, but we didn't expect her to close the elevator door before we got there either.

All in all, the only thing 5 star about it was the price.
