The hotel was easy to get to from the airport. Our room was on the first floor right on the street, but it was very quiet and we were able to sleep without any issues.

We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. The complimentary breakfast was also enjoyable.

Do not waste your money!

Do not waste your money. Staff not helpful. Room outdated. Housekeeping did a poor job of basic cleaning. No extras provided. Any basic request was denied. There was not even a phone in the room to contact the front desk. I would not recommend and would never stay here again if I were to visit again. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The hotel is located in a quiet area of the city, within convenient walking distance to one of the city bridges. Public transit is just around the corner, very convenient and easy to use. Also nearby are several good restaurants, as well as small grocery stores. The hotel is very clean, beds are comfortable, room sizes are large and the hotel staff are friendly and efficient. The included breakfast is very good. Highly recommended and we would stay there again.

A gem of a hotel close to city centre

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were amazing - plenty of choice. Walking distance to Charles bridge or very close to tram stop. We will happily recommend this hotel and we look forward to another stay when back in Prague.

A very pleasant stay in a quieter part of the city.
No air conditioning, but the windows opened to keep us cool. No view, but it was a lovely bright and airy room.

Hotel Mala Strana is a nice hotel located within easy walking distance of Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. The breakfast buffet is good with many choices and Czech specialties. I especially liked the sitting area in the room and the electric kettle for making tea. The staff is friendly and helpful.

i have visited prague a few times before so know the area reasonably well,the hotel is one street back from the river, there are a few restaurants and shops very close to the hotel,you are only a few minutes walk to the funicular railway which will take you to the petrin tower,the Charles bridge is about a 10-15 walk away, the trams run just out side the hotel which takes you to the castle, the hotel itself is really nice, i arrived about 11am but was able to get into the room straight away and was also able to stay 1 hour after check out, the room had a kitchen area which is hidden away behind some doors,the room was of a good size we had 2 single beds and also a couch there was a small table, the bathroom had a hairdrier and also liquid soap and shower gel, all the staff were really friendly, we had breakfast which consisted of a few hot dishes eggs and sausages, cold meats and cheese and a lot of pastries, the hotel is a good area to use as a base if you don't want to have all the hustle and bustle of the main town squares

Good location. We have been to Prague twice before. So knew we wouldn't be to far of a walk from the main attractions. It was also good for public transport.
The WiFi was very patchy which was not much of a problem, it was a holiday after all.

Hotel is close to the tram and a good variety of local restaurants with excellent food and good beer. Staff was as helpful as they could be with directions but you need to figure out what you want to do before you get their as it is hard for them to give you suggestions. The hotel was very clean the breakfast was more than enough and is included the beds were comfortable and the rooms were a good size. Like everywhere in Europe be prepared to walk or take the tram if you are in a hurry. Just make sure you know how to find your way back the transit system is a bit confusing until you figure it out.

The hotel is simple but comfortable; it's not near a tube station but is within easy walking distance of the Castle and the river (across which are most of the main tourist sights).

Beautiful Hotel in an excellent location

Wonderful old stylish hotel in a perfect location. My girlfriend and I were able to see the very best of Prague. We walked to almost every famous location. The hotel breakfast, at least according to American standards, was outstanding: eggs, yogurt, sausages, good coffee, dranniki, dranniki with meat and vegetables in them, as well as fruit and pastries. The front desk staff was nice and very helpful.

I loved staying in Mala Strana because it felt like 'real Prague' away from busy tourist spots. I walked everywhere, Old Town, Wenceslas square, Petrin Hill to name a few. That isn't to say they are necessarily close, but a decent walk let's you see the city better than inside a bus. However, there is a tram stop near by, frequent buses and an easy train system if you prefer. Uber is also a very cheap method of travel in Prague. The room was very spacious with a great shower. There was no noise from other guests and staff were very helpful. The breakfast is pretty good and there were lots of options. Prague is an amazing city and my stay at this hotel allowed me to see and do everything very easily.

Good value for what you pay for. The rooms are big and clean. The first night, i noticed it smells liked previous guest smoked in. I told the Front Desk and they said they will have it cleaned, but if still unsatisfactory, they will move us. They did such a great job, it was not even necessary.

The staff was very kind specially the front seat staff.
The hotel itself was ok but a bit dingy.
Our room had what seemed to be a permanit Oder in the bathroom of urin.
The tiny trash can was broken, the toilet paper holder was also broken, so they just sat the roll on the back of the toilet.
The breakfast was pretty awful, one morning I found the bread for toast completely moldy. The worker kindly exchanges the loaf for a new one.
But for what it's worth Id say it was ok.

Our room was great, a big room, little kitchenette. It had a great location - great walking distance to the Charles Bridge and all tourist locations (and good restaurants around). The breakfast on the other hand was quite terrible. The bread was stale, the coffee burnt and the boiled eggs were really old (over cooked and blackened inside the egg).

Great Staff and Great Location.

Lots of positives:
- Most of the staff at the front desk were VERY helpful and engaging.
- The location was perfect -- 1 block west of the river from Old Town and a block from the trams. The trams get you pretty much everywhere around Prague promptly.
- The price was right.
- Breakfast was good, w/ plenty of variety ea morn.
- The hotel and neighborhood was very quiet and safe.
The negative: (only 1)
- Our room was still decorated in the Soviet era. This was actually fine for us, and kind of amusing. But the lighting was not too good.
Still, overall it was a good place to stay, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Good hotel, close to tram stops 10 minute walk from Charles bride , clean room we had a bathroom with shower and 3/4 bath , good no shortage of hot water. Buffet breakfast with good choice which was varied slightly each morning. Good base to explore city but if you are not getting transfers from the airport ( making your own way with public transport ) it took us about an 1.5 hours but straight forward enough

Unexpected stay

My stay happened very unexpectedly, I was supposed to stay in a different city in Czech Republic with some friends; however, I had put in this reservation as part of contingency planning. It surely came in handy at the very last minute as I ended up in Prague when friends changed plans. Though I was concerned about staying in a 3-star versus a 4 or 5 star, especially one with no air-conditioning during Prague's infamous heatwave, my experience was fine. I guess I'd like this to a motel, except that it was very clean, with very good beds. The hotel staff was friendly, especially the two young gentlemen at the front desk. Everyone was kind and helpful, Dimitri loaned me a good fan which helped with the heat. The rooms are clean, fairly big-sized, even if very old-fashioned, but they still beat the size of the tiny room I stayed in last year in a highly rated Parisian hotel which cost three-and-a-half times more than a room here. The bed was comfortable, bedding was very clean, bathroom was clean, shower pressure was good. Breakfast was freshly prepared. This area of Mala Strana is hardly any distance from Charles Bridge and peaceful and idyllic Kampa Island is around the corner. A great cafe is around the block and a good restaurant as well. Old town is reachable by foot or a short tram ride, and tram 9 will take you to the main train station within 15 minutes.

hotel was decent, served its purpose. i didn't spend much time there but the time i was there it got the job done. not the most spectacular place i've ever stayed, but that's not what i was going for and not what i paid for.
breakfast every morning was good, room was kept up daily, no complaints.
one thing that did surprise me was the 84 crowns (CZK) that awaited me at checkout, after i'd already prepaid for the hotel online. they said this was not included in the hotel stay and was a tourist fee. i have an invoice to go with it. wasn't much, turned out to be $4 or something. just woulda been nice to know that beforehand (admittedly, i think hotels.com did mention something about there possibly being additional fees not included. an extra USD $4 wasn't as bad as it could've been i guess)

Great Hotel - great service - great price - great location for us - will stay there again. Loved it. Easy walking to main attractions or get the tram it's just up the road every 10 mins to anywhere and it's cheap £2 for a 24 hour pass on all underground, Busses and Trams.

You are welcomed by a huge trash container right in front of the street entrance to the hotel, most lamps didn't work in the room, nor the phone, no bathroom/toilet amenities, horrible sound in bathroom, horrible breakfast in deep basement, some strange inflexible and even dishonest personal, but the location of the hotel is very good, between green park and the river. In general, raw, impolite and unpleasant services in Prague, starting with the info service at airport.

Great location for our visit to Prague. We could walk or easily jump on a bus or tram to get anywhere we wanted to go. The front desk staff were exceptional. When my sister-in-law's purse got stolen they were extremely helpful, giving her computer help to apply for a new passport, finding them accommodations for their extended stay to take care of everything, etc. We were on the top floor and it was a little too warm (couldn't open the skylight windows), but it was tolerable. Breakfast was fantastic!

The first room that we checked into hadn't been cleaned. The hotel manager quickly found us a clean room. The room was uncomfortably hot so I requested a fan, which was happily provided. No screens on the windows. We enjoyed the breakfast. The staff made sure that we had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mala Strana. The hotel is a little way from the main tourist spots, but there are still lots of bars and restaurants nearby and we walked everywhere in Prague during our four day stay - distance is not a concern unless you really want to be right in the centre of town. Also nearer to the castle - I would not have wanted to walk there if we stayed on the main side of the river.

Spacious, clean room - the only complaint being that the double room we booked was two twin beds pushed together. Not a problem really, but not the most romantic if, like us, you are travelling as a couple. Free breakfast and free luggage storage was a huge plus! Our flight was at 7pm and they happily stored our suitcases in a locked room from when we checked out that morning. Breakfast was served 7.30 until 10, was tasty and had a good selection even the day we slept in and came down at 9.30. We did not use the kitchenette facility but the fridge was definitely a plus for storing drinks.

The hotel was in a great location with many cheap restaurants located nearby. Getting to and from the hotel was easy and around 600CZK in a taxi from the airport. The rooms were large and spacious, and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice. I would definitely stay in this hotel again as we enjoyed the stay, and the fact that it is in a quiet area but just a short distance to the main city.

Great time in Prague

It was close to the Ujezd tram stop and the staff (especially Jana) was super helpful! The breakfast was great in the morning with lots of options. Great for staying in groups or with family...had a kitchen in the room etc. I would stay here again :)

Good value for your money

Although we paid close to nothing to stay at this hotel, the room was EXTREMELY hot and stuffy. We were on the 5th floor and there was only 2 small skylights to use as windows. The hotel is nice but if you stay in the cheap room, expect a cheap room.

More than enough beds!

We had a great time. We had enough beds and a kitchenette also. It was a good location for walking to the castle and the St. Charles Bridge. It was not too far from the shopping area.
