We loved everything about this hotel! Great location with transportation right outside. Not filled with tourists - more of a locals experience when dining and shopping nearby. Beds comfy, plenty of outlets and provided a hair dryer to avoid needing a special converter plug, very quiet for undisturbed sleep and a great view of the street/castle. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful at check-in, check-out and inbetween! The elevator was down for repairs and they offered to take our bags up/down the stairs. We did it ourselves, but they offered. The breakfast was absolutely amazing...fresh ingredients, hot food with many choices (multiple veggies, protein and carbs), so much to eat that you could get right out to exploring and skip lunch. Also, you take it back to your room to enjoy in the comfort of your company. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A lovely little gem in Prague that I highly recommend if you’re looking for something more reminiscent of a boutique hotel. The building is stunning, transportation right outside the hotel, and the views from your room of the city are absolutely stunning. I spent my anniversary here and would definitely revisit!

The room was so cute; I wish I had been staying longer! The complimentary mini bar was a nice touch. The beds are in lofts so if you have mobility considerations, you might want to look at one of their other hotels. Excellent location just a short walk down the road to Charles Bridge or up the road to Prague Castle. Breakfast was standard. Overall would definitely stay again.

Like staying in an old castle

This hotel was very quaint- I felt like I was staying in Rapunzels tower. The location is great- right by Charles bridge with a tram stop downstairs. There are stairs to get to the bedroom so if you are worried about getting up in the night to go to the bathroom, just know that the bathroom is downstairs.

This is an odd place. It's not really a hotel, but more like several apartments built in the attic of the building. The rooms have a kitchenette and the bed is in a loft up some extremely steep stairs. The morning breakfast buffet is served in the hallway and you eat in your room! Sleeping was extremely difficult as the bed was quite hard and there is a tram stop right in front of the building. The trams run almost all night long with only a 3-hour break early in the morning. After one night, we left for a quieter, more comfortable hotel.

We love everything about this property, especially the location. It's a few minutes walk to Charles Bridge and Prague Castle and about 20 minutes to Old Town Square. Don't forget to visit St Nicholas Church and its bell tower for magnificent views.

Very close to Charles bridge, old town sites, all walkable. Entrance to the hotel in summertime can be found behind the seating area and umbrellas for the restaurant adjacent to the hotel and is a large wooden classic door.
The staff were all very helpful and kind. Guests take plates and cups from the room to go to breakfast, you serve yourself , and then you eat breakfast in your hotel room. Breakfast was a mixture of warm and cold offerings, very nice. When we went through the line the first time, waffles were not ready, about 15 minutes later a Server came and knocked on our door to let us know the waffles were now ready. This is kind of service experienced here, very excellent. It was very clean and very cute. Their portable air conditioners worked well in the room.
We were pleasantly surprised how close the hotel was to everything. The 15 bus line drops you off directly in front of the hotel from the main central train station.
The hotel offers very affordable taxi service to/from the airport booked directiy on the hotel website-very easy and efficient.
Should we return to frog in the future, we will definitely stay in the same location!

Most amazing hotel — it made our stay in Prague. The lofts are so gorgeous and have so much light! Tons of space which was also nice to spread out and relax in the hotel. Also was a buffet breakfast that can eat in your room.

Staff super nice and helpful — loved that it was 24h so someone was already onsite.

Perfect location as was near the action of Charles bridge but not part of the central town area. Would stay here again

Loved having the mezzanine level for the bed, well equipped kitchenette, fantastic location, helpful staff, good breakfast choice, thoughtful handwritten letter with welcome basket. Enjoyed being able to eat breakfast in our room with views over Malá Strana. Only negative feedback we would say was the bathroom had a very odd and unpleasant smell, almost like a chemical or drains. Didn’t bother us enough to say anything and wouldn’t stop us from going back, just the only thing that we could fault. Would happily return and recommend to friends and family!

Although we were greeted with a welcome basket that was nice and generous...the room was a bit dated for the cost and the condition of furniture was poor, broken. Felt more like an Inn than a hotel. A/C was a portable noisy piece that was then removed from our room on the 2nd day.
Location is great and very scenic, but the hotel was underwhelming.

Many thanks to Ali and all the staff who were very helpful, professional and friendly.
The hotel is strategically positioned to stroll around and enjoy beautiful Prague's landmarks, places and museums, needless to say that restaurants, cafes, mini markets and pubs/bars are plenty and nearby. Malostranska metro station (green line A) is around 5-8 minutes walk to the hotel.

Stayed at the Nicholas Hotel Residence for one night only to attend an event at the British Embassy. The hotel is nicely located near the Old Town and Prague Castle and you can easily walk to the major attractions. Welcoming and friendly staff (Mariano was great). Comfortable and spacious room. My only comment is that the room can get quite hot, but this is down to the age of the building. Would stay again.

Brilliant Hotel close to all amenities

I arrived about 2 1/2 hours before check-in and was allowed into my room early. The Manager Nuno was fantastic and really friendly. All the staff were very friendly, possibly the best customer service I have had. I have brought the hand written letter of welcome home as a souvenir because I find it so unique.

The room was very spacious with good amenities, I enjoyed the complimentary welcome basket of wine and snacks. The bed, and the room as a whole, was comfy and I liked the idea of sleeping on the mezzanine. I didn't as my double bed was in a dedicated bedroom with a single on the mezzanine but I would have been happy with it. This was a suite and I have paid far more for a single room smaller than the bedroom so I really got my value for money.

The continental breakfast was good and it was great to be able to make my own coffee and eat in my room. Some people may not like the idea of washing up whilst on holiday but I found it convenient. I just wish there had been complimentary orange juice, but I stress that is not a complaint!

The hotel is well situated in Lesser Town very close to the castle and adjoined to St Nicholas Cathedral, very well placed in Prague's best area in my opinion and close enough to the local metro station for airport transfers.

On the day I arrived, I was pleased with the wine, snacks and welcome letters.
I couldn't find the sign of the Nicholas. The hotel entrance was more difficult to find because of the restaurant tables and people. They were blocking the doorway.
I couldn't eat breakfast when I was moving early because breakfast started at 8 a.m.
The place was good for sightseeing.

Check in was easy and reception staff very helpful. We stayed in room no 1 with 2 bedrooms and an upstairs loft room . Location was excellent and welcome basket was lovely.Breakfast was good , we had nice weather and the rooms got a little warm , fans are provided in the rooms. Wardrobe space was limited with only 3 coat hangers supplied ,The beds where low and under the eaves and could prove tricky for someone less able-bodied . There is a lift in the building which was welcome .Would we recommend to friends and family ? Without a doubt !

Nice historic hotel, very friendly staff. Located in a “more quiet than most” part of town, and the elevator works very well! This hotel is located quite close to Prague Castle and the main attractions, so once you wind your way down the cobblestone streets and arrive you don’t have to fight the crowd very long in any direction to go anywhere. The area has plenty of places to eat, even a McDonalds (Incase you have your cranky mother in law who won’t eat anything else) The hotel has very modern conveniences for a world heritage site, so it’s the best of both worlds! Authentic and comfortable!

All of the attractions are in the walking distance, there is not necessarily to buy transport ticket even.

Although it is located in the town centre, it is quiet and we have very good sleep.

Christmas family getaway

If we return to Prague we will definately stay here again.... Everything was great, we arrived to realise you can see the end of the Charles bridge from the doorway. Such a friendly welcome was given with lots of advice, made you feel home from home. We travelled as two adults and two teenagers, the suite was perfect, no arguments as each had their own room, and so clean and importantly at this time of year, warm, in fact toasty! We also had no problem at all with noise. For us breakfast set up in the hallway to take back to the kitchenette in your room worked perfectly, everything fresh and nice not to rush to get dressed. Welcome basket gratefully received thankyou. We walked to all the main sights and enjoyed the Christmas markets - just watch food sold by weight! Read about queues at the castle but if you walk from the hotel up through the picturesque embassy area as we were advised, and go in through the back (changing guard at midday) we found hardly any queues, and it was amazing. We had a brilliant family break and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Nicholas Residence to friends and family.

For whom the bell tolls...

If you enjoy the ringing of the bells, every hour, on the hour, alllll hours of the night, this is the place for you ;) Besides that, the hotel was lovely! And I feel like our room was right under the bells, so perhaps, just don't get room 5. Our bring ear plugs.
Otherwise, this is my favourite area to stay in Prague, I've been many times.

The Nicholas rooms are located on the top floor (3rd floor) of an old building. There are only 9 rooms. All rooms are of a loft apartment style, and have a generous lounge area and small kitchenette.
The bedroom is located in the loft so would not suit anyone with any type of mobility issue as the steps are very steep leading up to the loft.
I had a fabulous three night stay, the location of The Nicholas was great, with a tram stop at the front door. Although I didn't use the public transport as I was able to walk everywhere from the hotel.
The staff were excellent both at the front desk and housekeeping.
I would definitely recommend staying at The Nicholas.

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights, and it made our holiday perfect.

The hotel was very close to the Charles Bridge, which is the great location to get to any of the major touristic sites by walk. We walked during the most of our stay.

The room was spacious for two of us, which has a bed room with two single beds put together and the attic with another singe bed. It is a historical building, and was still a clean and well-maintained space.

The breakfast was simple, but it fed us good every morning.

Lastly, staffs were really friendly and made us feel delighted, from the first night when we arrived late till the day we left. It's not easy to find helpful people with smiles like these people at the hotel in other places(restaurants and shops) in Prague.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay. I think it must have been the best choice.

It`s a strange hotel with only 9 rooms in a third floor
The room is quite big but the celing is not enough high in certains parts of the room.
The bath does not have a cabin shower, not even a curtain
The team is very gentle and helpufull. They conceal this lack of some infrastructure
I think that is an option specially for young people

I stayed with my girlfriend for one night. The staff was very friendly, at first I had issues with the wifi but they fixed it immediately. The room was nice,spacious, clean, and had everything to make our stay comfortable, from a free wine bottle to snacks in the refrigerator. The architecture is definitely unique in a good way. Location is also excellent, a train stop right across the street and many restaurants around. It is in the touristy area so it's nice and safe. Definitely recommended

This stay did not disappoint. A loft second bedroom in a spacious well appointed apartment. Ideal for two couples or a family of four. Friendly staff that went over and above to help out. Complimentary bottle of wine was something I had not seen in a room of this price. A short walk (less than two minutes) to the Charles bridge, Mini-markets, restaurants and tram stops. One tram stop (or a three minute walk) to the Metro. Excellent value for money for this type of accommodation.

Week Stay - Absolutely Wonderful!

We just got back after a week stay. We had Room #3. As others have stated, there can be a good amount of street noise from the tram and the church bells chime every hour. This was not an issue for us, it was not loud all night, and was fine with the window closed. We enjoyed a nice fresh breakfast spread every morning. When we arrived we were greeted with a stocked fridge with nice cold drinks, wine and some snacks (free of charge). The hotel staff was helpful with any questions we had about the area. The location was PERFECT. Close to everything, including the public transit system, and minutes from the Charles Bridge. We had a few other groups staying in other hotels, and ours by far was the nicest! We hope to come back soon, and would not dream of staying anywhere else!

We stayed for three nights and the staff are sensational. If you want to stay at a quality hotel in the heart of the tourist area and be made to feel very welcome look no further. We took the 3 person room and were welcomed with personalised service. Nothing is too much trouble. We booked this hotel for our recent stay in Prague and where blown away by how helpful and polite all the staff where. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and we could see St Nicholas church through our bedroom window.

We stupidly forgot travel adapters but the staff at the hotel kindly lent us some as well as printing tickets for us to see an Opera at the National Theatre.

I couldn't recommend staying here more highly. One of the best hotels we have ever been to.

The Good, The Bad, Fortunately NO Ugly

Outstanding staff, great location, historic building, good breakfast, reasonable value; we weren't aware a/c was not part of renovation due to historical preservation requirements and 90+ degrees caused the room to be very warm and one of the windows was inoperable; WIFI wasn't available for 2 of our 4 nights and that was unacceptable and next to last day the elevator broke and 63 step climb a few times was a workout my wife and i hadn't anticipated, but it did assist in keeping the weight in check. :)

Fab stay

Just returned from a short break to Prague staying in this wonderful apartment.
Our flight was early but our room was ready and we checked in straight away. As soon as we were shown room 8 it was a WOW- so big and very comfy.
Our stay was amazing and special thanks to the lovely staff whose 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude was so refreshing.
Location is central too with only a short walk (3mins tops) to Charles Bridge.

Excellent Hotel with beautiful rooms!!

The staff was more than accommodating. We felt as though we were treated like royalty from the time we arrived until checkout. Room was very clean with complementary wine and beer upon arrival. The staff spoke very clear English and was very helpful on places to go and restaurants to eat in. If we were to make it back to Prague, this would be our first choice in hotels to stay. Price of the room was fabulous!!! My only negative comment was that parking in that area of town is very expensive.

The rooms were great. We had a loft room which meant it was quiet and your bedroom didn't share walls with any other room. Could also see the Charles castle through the window which was special. The breakfast wasn't great as was at the adjacent cafe and was only bread. Croissants and toast. No fruit or cheese etc and cappuccinos were extra.

Very good location and services

This Apartment hotel is very well located in the Lesser Town quarter of Prague. The tramway station is a few steps of walk from the hotel. The bedroom is very small. We have received very good services from the personnel.

In the heart of the Little Quarter

Great location. 10 minutes or less to the Charles Bridge, 10 minutes to Prague Castle. Also, the hotel was located by tram stops, including Tram 22, and is only about 800-900 meters from a Metro stop (line #2). By public transit (bus, tram, metro), it took 25 minutes to get to the airport. The hotel itself was fun. The beds are in a loft area above a living with a furnished kitchen and bathroom. My companion and I purchased eggs, Kefir and butter from the market down the street to supplement the free \"Continental Breakfast\" (i.e., toast, croissants and pastries + fresh OJ or coffee) from the next-door cafe, which we learned to take to go and ate in our room with eggs for a quick breakfast. Despite Little Quarter Square being noisy during the day and early night, the closed windows on the lower-living area of the room drowned out the noise. St. Nicholas' Cathedral is directly behind the hotel and its bells ring every hour, which did not disturb us even with the bedroom window open. However, if you are a light sleeper it would be prudent to bring ear-plugs or close all the windows at night.

Brilliant stay

The hotel was very quirky. We loved the look of the room and the location couldn't have been better. The only tiny things that were an issue were the shower (it was a bit temperamental but fine once you found the right temperature). Also there was no air conditioning and although we were provided with a fan which was great during the day, it was a little bit warm at night. Don't let this put you off tho, it really is a beautiful hotel.

Charmig och mysig men med renoveringsbehov.

Läget är toppen. Rummet var perfekt eftersom vi ville vara 4 personer i samma rum. Detaljerna är charmiga men ganska slitna. Frukosten är helt ok. Det är en gammal byggnad så ibland försvann elen, ibland försvann wifi och ibland försvann varmvatten. Så minus för det.

Si estáis buscando un alojamiento en Praga que sea acogedor, esté muy bien comunicado con el resto de la ciudad y tenga un estilo más clásico, este es vuestro hotel. El personal es muy amable y en el precio incluyen el desayuno buffet. Si tengo que poner algún \"pero\" es que se escucha bastante el ruido de los tranvías pero por lo demás todo perfecto.

Très bon séjour dans cet hôtel, proposant un concept un peu hybride entre appart hôtel et hôtel traditionnel, correspondant parfaitement à notre besoin. (Petit déjeuner et ménage inclus, possibilité de se préparer un peu à manger dans une kitchenette par ailleurs)

Localisation parfaite pour visiter Prague, dans un quartier très plaisant.

A noter pour les plus sensibles au bruit que le tram passe au pied de l'hôtel, et que les cloches de l'église St Nicolas sonnent toutes les heures.
