This Renaissance-style building that houses this hotel has had a remarkable history, as it once belonged to the Emperor Rudolf II and through the ages has served as the residence of the legendary astronomer Tycho de Brahe and many other notable visitors of Prague. Our stay at The Golden Well in Prague was truly delightful from beginning to end.

The reception was warm and professional. Victoria welcomed us with genuine friendliness, gave us a thoughtful tour of the hotel, and provided clear and helpful information about the surroundings. It immediately made us feel comfortable and well cared for.

The room was elegant and very comfortable, with a genuine classic style that perfectly fits the historic character of the building. Everything felt calm, tasteful, and well maintained.

Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. The view is beautiful, the breakfast menu is well prepared, and the buffet is generous and carefully arranged. The service was outstanding. Olga and Andrea were both warm, attentive, and caring, turning breakfast into a truly pleasant daily experience.

The hotel’s location is superb, quiet yet perfectly situated for exploring Prague. Check-out was simple, smooth, and efficient.

We truly enjoyed staying in this well-preserved historic building. It allowed us to feel and breathe the gracefulness of Prague in a very special way. We would gladly return and highly recommend The Golden Well to anyone seeking a refined and memorable stay.

While the property itself is located in a quiet, safe area and the staff is nice, the pictures and details Iisted on here are misleading. The main picture shown for this property is not at the property at all. This property does not have an outdoor garden area. The \"garden\" pictures are those of the Royal Palace Gardens that are a couple minutes away from the Golden Well, and for which you have to pay an entry fee. Secondly, the advertised included breakfast is not exactly free. The breakfast is very good and there are staff that wait on you. So, upon leaving breakfast, each guest is made to sign a form and put down a tip amount. It feels obligatory to leave a nice tip- which is fine, but should not be advertised as inclusive (especially when other hotels in the area do not push paperwork at you after breakfast). Also, the pictures of the rooftop terrace are misleading, as they did not allow access to it.

From the moment we arrived, this classic castle-style hotel was more than we imagined. The architecture and ambiance made us feel like we had stepped back in time, while still enjoying every modern comfort. Its location is absolutely perfect- a short distance to the majestic Prague Castle, and within easy walking distance to the Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock, charming Old Town streets, and an endless selection of restaurants, cafés, and shops.

The Golden Well surpassed our expectations. It was a a great place to end our European tour. The staff was exceptional and the room was large and comfortable and very clean. It requires a short uphill walk but very doable, even for a 75 yr old pulling a roll-aboard suitcase and wearing a backpack.

This hotel has a special charm. I stayed with my husband and 3 teenagers and we loved it. The location is perfect, it’s quiet and yet easily accessible to the old city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with thoughtful things like fruit and cake. Not to mention dark curtains and great air conditioning. The breakfast room has the best view of the city and the staff are all friendly and make the experience perfect. I highly recommend this hotel.

Golden Well was a really lovely hotel to stay at. It felt very luxurious. Was in a beautiful location. Great breakfast each morning on the top floor with an amazing view of Prague. The staff was really helpful and easy to work with. Only thing to watch out for is cars cannot get to the entry of this hotel as the road is too narrow. So you'll need to walk up about 100 yards, fairly steep. Something to keep in mind! It wasn't an issue for us.

This place is truly a hidden gem. Located under the shadow of the Prague Palace, it is quiet, luxurious and within walking distance of the Old Town center. Historically, it was once a private residence. A fabulous breakfast was included each morning with a view of Prague that was breathtaking. Staff was very attentive and we enjoyed afternoon treats in the library room, and a little sweet as part of evening turn down service. It is a special place that I hope to return to one day. Thank you to Viktorie and all staff for making our stay memorable.

An absolutely perfect experience. My son and I came to visit Prague and stayed at the gorgeous Golden Well Hotel for 10 days. I have never been to a hotel that I loved as much. The ambiance was soothing and cozy. They made us feel special with little desserts at our bedside each night. In the mornings, we experienced healthful and nourishing breakfasts served by the sweetest humans, all while enjoying a stunning view. To top it off, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfy. I normally don't sleep well in hotels, but I slept like a baby and even bought a pillow from them to take home. I will definitely be back!!

My husband and 7 yo daughter shared a room at the Golden Well for our 3 night stay in Prague. We loved the beautifully appointed room with sumptuous bedding, the great array of snacks and minibar, plenty of comfy furnishings, wonderful bath amenities, and the best staff one could ask for. The list goes on- we got a bottle of wine in our room, as well as a yummy dessert treat every night. The views of the rooftops from the restaurant were fantastic as well as was the proximity to Prague castle. We truly felt pampered and enjoyed the delicious breakfasts every morning. I would definitely recommend this charming, updated historic hotel (only if you are a quiet and respectful guest however as it is not a place for late night partiers).

I have rarely written reviews... My husband and I wanted to stay at this hotel the following weekend. We saw haw charming it looked and thought it would be perfect....A well earned weekend get-away. It was late on Saturday night and I thought I should book a nice room for the following weekend before I go to bed. I did just that and accidentally put todays date and not for next weekend....My husband caught this in the morning. I immediately asked to change the date for the one we meant to book the following weekend. After a few days I was told that no change and no refund. I own a small business and I know that an honest mistake happens. WOW- I spent my vacation money for the weekend now... so Prague will have to wait. I'm disappointed that...Thats it. I don't want to hurt the business but I think possibly it may help the management realize that every customer matters.

So my husband was the navigator and he navigated me right up to the door which is not where cars are to go. The staff was alarmed and shocked that I'd managed to squeeze the car between the buildings around a very narrow corner. So with the help of 4 people I backed the car out through the gap without a scratch!

Golden Well Hotel was easily the best hotel I have ever stayed over the past 25 years. It has unique charm about it in an historic and beautiful part of town in Mala Strana. It is right next to the Prague Castle. The views from the hotel and especially the top terrace are breathtaking. This hotel exceeded my expectations on every level. It honestly spelled perfection better than any other 5 star hotel. They have an amazing attention to detail in every design and functionality. They also treat you extremely well and I felt very valued and welcome from the moment I walked in. The food on the terrace was exquisite and the daily breakfast was uniquely amazing with champagne/mimosa and made to order eggs/pancakes etc. Even the \"do not disturb sign\" is a charming mini-pillow red/green fabric and not a paper/plastic tag. The key to the room is a nice wooden card! They even had a daily 4-5:30 hors d'oeuvre with wine/cheese. Every corner you look, Golden well stands out as the absolute best hotel.

I wish there was a way that I could give the Golden Well 10 stars! It was the most extraordinary place my husband and I have ever enjoyed - few have come close but none have exceeded the boutique luxury of this lovely hotel - a 16th century Emperor's residence built into the outer stone walls of Prague Castle and set atop Mala Strana with all its brilliant red-roofed tiles and steeples. We arrived to be treated to a glass of Prosecco and a bouquet of fresh flowers. The view from our Tycho de Brahe suite was magical, and the cofee table was a veritable feast of wine, chocolates, and fresh fruit! Daily breakfast at the hotel's Terasa U Zlaté Studně restaurant was lovely, and our birthday dinner there was extraordinary, topped with an entire chocolate cake the restaurant delivered to our room after dinner! The staff was extraordinary - helpful, friendly, warm, hospitable, and kind. We can't wait to go back and would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to experience the best stay ever in Prague.

Great location. Great service. Love the welcoming wine and fruits. Daily replenish of fruits and desserts. Having heated floors in the bathroom was nice. My favorite was the breakfast in the terrace restaurant. Food is amazing and the view is so beautiful. We will definitely come back to the Golden Well Hotel again. Thank you for your hospitality

What can we say to even begin to express how amazing our stay at the Golden Well was??? We decided at the last moment, to travel from our home in Nürnberg, to Prague for just one night. We wish we could have stayed longer!! From the welcome prosecco and beer at check-in, to the taking our bags up to the room while we were checking in....to the valet parking...to the soft music and chocolates left in our room upon arrival...everything was just perfection!! We had decided to go to Prague for our special anniversary...and we couldn't have asked for anything better!! We are Americans living in Germany and travel to Prague at least 4-5 times a year (we always bring our guests there)...and have decided that we will ALWAYS pick this hotel from now on!!! We have stayed in over 15 hotels in Prague, and this one was just the most romantic, special hotel we've ever stayed in. We had lunch on their top floor amazing terrace restaurant...delicious!!! We went out on our bikes for the day, and when we returned, they had our bed turned down, the black-out drapes closed, soft music and dimmed lights, and a chocolate cake for our special day...and even left the sweetest personal note!! In the morning, we had the most spectacular breakfast ever!!! French toast, eggs benedict, pancakes, omelets, prosecco....just wonderful!!! They also helped us load and unload our bikes and pack up our bags in our car. We felt like we were the only guests in the hotel!! We had picked one of the least

This was by far the best hotel experience I’ve had in the last few years, having stayed in hotels an average of 100 days per year. The location in Prague is ideal for sight seeing and the staff, services and amenities were superb. Before staying here, I visited the restaurant due to its fantastic food and views before giving the hotel itself a try. I can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely perfect stay. The hotel is beautiful and on a wonderful location just a short walk to the castle. Staff was helpful qnd professional. The breakfast was unbelievable. The room was spacious and absolutely beautiful. Nice touches like soft music, turn down service and afternoon reception. Really lovely! Highly recommend.

We met a friend in Prague who had found this hotel when his cab dropped him there by accident last time and he wanted to try it. Best decision ever! Wonerful staff, friendly and helpful, great rooms, great breakfast that had the best view of the city (without the need to climb the Castle steps). While I'd been told by other friends not to expect a \"real\" hot shower in Czechia, I found the bathroom was more than I could ask for (and the water both hot and relaxing). This is Luxury!

We enjoyed the location, easy and pleasant walk, very convenient yet quiet. The staff was courteous, helpful and professional. Breakfast was so well presented and tasty, service excellent. We were recommend by knowledgeable, but still exceed our expectation. There was a small hiccup regarding the reservation when we first arrived, but was resolved quickly and satisfactory! Beautiful hotel in great location in Prague. The restaurant is wonderful. I recommend planning to eat at the roof top terrace during your stay. Also, the optional breakfast is amazing Ana’s well worth the price. The staff is very attentive.

Every room was different in this beautiful boutique hotel. The staff was superb and the service by everyone was exceptional. The food was state of the art and everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a peaceful area, but still close to all of the action. Please bear in mind that this hotel is situated on the hill leading up to the castle, and all surrounding roads and pathways are cobblestones. So please bear in mind the incline and walking surface when considering this hotel.
