Situated in the heart of historical Prague on the century-old Kampa Island, the Kampa Garden Hotel offers guests a peaceful haven from which to explore the many delights of this most beautiful city. Opened in September 2005 following the renovation of a 1932 foundation house, this traditionally styled hotel enjoys a delightful location overlooking the Certovka canal beside the Velkoprevarsky Mill Waterwheel.

For visitors, the architecturally rich Sova's Mill and Werich's Villa are close by, as is the Charles Bridge which offers easy access to many of the major tourist and cultural attractions that Prague has to offer including Wenceslas Square and Prague Castle. All of the 35 en-suite rooms are comfortably decorated and offer modern amenities including satellite TV, mini bar, safe and hairdryer.

Great hotel, the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Attended to all our needs, in fact because we had to leave before breakfast, they made a small food package for us. The rooms were amazing, spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a vast assortment and was plentiful.
Definitely next time in Prague, we'll stay here.

Great location, and rooms are HUGE! honestly not sure I ever saw a bigger hotel room in Europe. Mixed bag though on the rest.

-Absolutely not accessible, and this is a very important point for some of us. Taxis/ ubers/ cars can't even drive down the street to the hotel, or through the square to get to it... meaning you will have to walk along for a good 2.5 km or so with your luggage bumping along over medieval cobblestone streets. Picturesque, yes. Practical, no. Pretty sure it ruined my luggage wheels, actually. Then you get there - no ramp. Just stairs to carry everything up.

Once that ordeal is through, the staff is mostly extremely nice and helpful, with the exception of one person who really couldn't be bothered. Rooms are a bit tired and dated though. Odd smell in room of stale body odor/ cabbage/ who knows... carpets definitely need updating throughout property, they are sad and tired and old in a not-charming way...

...but the breakfast was incredible. So all in all a mixed bag. But truly wonderful location to walk to everything, and room was quiet and comfortable, if not luxuriously decorated. Room was also very cold, no thermostat - but the front desk lent me a space heater, which helped. I was able to sleep very well after that. overall I think very good value for price - biggest issue is probably the long walk to get there, with luggage.

Loved the quiet location for sleeping, but still only 10/ 15 walk to old town. The single room was good size. Breakfast great as you can make your own fresh waffles or fresh juice. Good selection of homemade bread. Nothing to complain about! Be aware that reception closes 22:00, so not good for late check ins.

Stayed here for 3 nights as a solo traveler! The room was a good size and was clean. The area was very nice and my room looked out onto the canal which was pretty. Not a far walk over the bridge to popular tourist sites. The breakfast was decent but the same options everyday, a little variety would’ve been nice and sometimes was very busy and not enough seating. Staff was nice. Probably would stay here again.

The Kampa Garden Hotel is situated just minutes from the Charles Bridge and the John Lennon Wall - two of the must-sees. A park is immediately next to the hotel and the Vltava river is a stroll through the park.

The hotel is really a B & B, as it provides only a breakfast (which is full-on excellent). It does however provide little free 'Tapas' for guests in the small lounge from 2pm daily!

GOOD and NOT-SO-GOOD: Room cleaning is perfunctory, and is done, I believe, every three days, though towels are plentiful. The sink in the bathroom (Room 102) had no sink plug, but after my request the Maintenance Man came and (after one failed attempt - plug didn't fit) supplied one which fitted. I strongly suggest that non-slip safety mats should be available for inside the showers. The room cleaner more often than not didn't replenish supplies of coffee, tea, sugar. Milk is not provided at all. The room had a fridge whose door had to be manouvred in order to close it. There was a 'Nespresso'- type coffee maker and pods were provided when the cleaner remembered.

What was outstandingly good was the the attitude of the staff, both in the breakfast room, and, particularly, two of the Receptionists. Two young men, Jaroslav and Jan, were exceptionally helpful, friendly and professional and were a credit to the hotel. They are the reason for my overall Five Star rating.

love the patio on the river, amazing breakfast buffet was a 10, thery could get the other coffee functions working on the machine. But we were able to get what we needed in the end. Location is a 10 as well. Reason for 4 stars is there is no airconditioner and we had 30 degree weather. BiGi was good to work with and attentive.

I really liked the location of this hotel being very near the Charles' bridge and access to places near by. I will advise anyone who's interested in this place to stay during cool weather. NO AIR CONDITIONER at this location and you do not want to leave the window open for mosquitos and bugs will come in during hot days. Also, the water jars in the lobby is not being filled as often. The size of the water that's available for occupants is simply not enough or not available during the night and morning.

Great location, very good breakfast, lots to chose from Inc bacon,eggs,fruit, waffle maker,cereals and continental,they even had prosecco for a champagne breakfast. The room was ok but carpet was really dirty and the curtains were not blackout which made room extremely light ( glad I had eye mask lol). The lift didn't work for 3 days we were there and we was on top floor so bit inconvenient. Don't know how disabled person would have managed.

We really did like everything about our stay Even the communication before we arrived was great. The berakfast was fantastic and so much choice. We had a very nice room with lots of great snacks and drinks at the minibar and an included buffet breakfast that lasted 5 hours so it was very flexible when we could eat in the morning. We had a lovely room with a great view of the canal that runs through Kampa and only a 1 minute walk from the Charles Bridge. The overall neighborhood was very quaint and next to lots of beautiful parks. The staff was very nice, helped us with ordering a taxi to the airport when we left and we got to enjoy some yummy complimentary prosecco at checkin. We loved our stay here, thank you.

Breakfast buffet was the best we saw in our month in Europe. Our room was visually stunning but had a funky smell that required opening windows. That let in street noise from 5am garbage truck and bottles being thrown out along with 2nd hand smoke coming from workers outside our window. The staff were wonderful.

Kampa Garden is located very close to Charles Bridge and Old Town Prague. The area by the hotel is nonetheless quiet. There are many nice restaurants nearby but few cheesy tourist shops.

The hotel is really convenient,one minute's walk to Charles Bridge, in a lovely quiet area. Couldn't have picked a biletter location. The staff were all helpful snd friendly. Hotelbitself was clean and cosy. Shower was a bit small,but that was the only negative about our room.

Quiet, excellent hotel close to tourist highlights

Excellent hotel in a quiet, secluded area, but just steps away from the tourist hot spots. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast was varied and very well staffed. The room was quiet and comfortable. Overall, highly recommend the hotel. Will definitely stay here again on future trips to Prague.

Fantastic!

We are a family of three adults traveling and reserved a family room. In all of our travels this was probably one of the most comfortable rooms. We each had a single bed which I so appreciated. The room was spacious and the location next to Charles Bridge was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. The staff was superb, I appreciated the welcome drinks and the snacks in the afternoon in the lobby. I would absolutely stay here again on my next return to Prague!

Excellent hotel

Given the price of our stay I was incredibly happy with what we saw. The hotel is very nicely presented and is in an excellent location. There was a lot of choice at breakfast and there were small variations each day so it was not repetitive. Staff were very friendly and helpful too and we even got a chocolate brownie each upon our departure. No real issues to talk of. Highly recommended.

Brilliant location for exploring Prague

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel! Location 2 min walk from the Charles Bridge and well within walking distance of most other sights and attractions. We definitely got the best room in the hotel, it was very spacious, comfortable and had a private balcony. Breakfast had a great range of options and the hotel was clean and tidy. Tomás at reception was delightful and extremely helpful. The only downside was lack of fan/air conditioning, our room had neither which meant either windows open for air (not very private) or everything closed up. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to travellers visiting Prague!

Good hotel in perfect location

Good hotel, excellent location. Great price for central Prague. The only downside was a storm cutting the power, but the hotel staff dealt with it as quickly as they could. There is no air conditioning, so it got quite hot in the room at night. Breakfast was a good selection with long service hours, and the terrace was perfect to sit and rest after a day of walking.

Wonderful find

What a wonderful find - a stones throw from the river, 3 minutes walk to Charles Bridge and an easy to get to everywhere, but in a relatively quiet location!
The staff were brilliant, and the room smart and comfortable (we did have a deluxe room, but we think the standard was generally high), and we enjoyed a substantial and varied breakfast.

Weekend break

We were fortunate to be able to book a disabled parking space for my mother and have rooms on the ground floor. It made life so much easier. And we were delighted to have a room with a balcony too.

Be aware of conditions as listing is not accurate

This hotel is in a fantastic special location. Be very aware that Uber and Bolt drovers will routinely make you walk forwards another location on the cobbles no matter how much luggage you have and even though there is parking at the hotel.
It was incredibly busy and they left a trainee at the hotel to handle everything. It was a disaster that was waiting to happen, which did, 30 minutes later.
This is a very old building. Even though the listing says ceiling fans, there are not. This should be changed as this was the one thing that was going to get us through staying at this property. It is wrong. No moving air in the hotel except for open windows. All of your blinds have to be open for you to have your windows open. In order to use the darkening shards, it cuts off ventilation from the windows. Down by the river and little canals, so in the first few minutes of the windows open, we had some bugs in our room.
The hotel says non smoking, but beware guests with as any breathing complications or conditions, this was a building that had been heavily smoked in and the lingering smell is everywhere in the hotel. The stale still air does not help this at all either.
I brought these concerns to the trainee and in the middle of our chat, she walked away 2 times. I thought she was in some kind of medical distress. But probably overwhelmed which is not fair to her or the guests paying. We did not stay here and had a battle to final convince the management to give us a refund.

Couldn’t have picked a better hotel for our stay in Prague - Walking distance to all the tourist attractions we wanted to do and close to train station for airport connection. Staff were friendly and helpful and each day we received complimentary water, beer and snacks in our fridge. Beds were extremely comfortable and hotel has a lovely terrace overlooking the river. Only slight problem was the lack of air con however all rooms have a large fan - I have recommended this hotel to all family and friends and would not hesitate to book again when I return to Prague.

Unbeatable location but facility can be improved

Kampa Garden is right beside Charles Bridge. My family only had half day before we flew back to US and I still wanted to show them Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, so the location is the main reason I chose this hotel. The location is indeed unbeatable. The service was also great; when I arrived they already ran out of the limited parking permits, but the lady at the front desk called other neighboring hotels to allow me to purchase the permit from them. The room was in general in very good condition except that the facility of the bathroom could be improved. There was only a bathtub without a curtain, so the floor became very wet after one finished the shower. There was no lighting above the bathtub, so it's a bit dark when taking a shower during the night. The breakfast was also good. Overall, I like this hotel, but will suggest them to improve the facility in the bathroom.

The hotel was located 20 minutes walk from most tourist attractions (in a peaceful area). The breakfast was varied. The rooms were clean. However, although we were provided with an electric fan, the room was still incredibly hot during the summer which made it difficult to get a good nights sleep.

The hotel is clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the location can’t be beat. The only thing to note is that this is a historic building so AC is not allowed. The hotel provides fans and the windows open at the top so you can leave them open all day and night with no worries. I would definitely stay here again. Great hotel, fabulous location!
