Wonderful place

Amazing location.

This hotel has amazing location for family. Close to Prague downtown but far enough from busy tourist areas. Plenty good restaurants and shops around where local people would go. Staff is very helpful and courteous. We stayed there for our many trips to Prague and it’s nice to see that hotel property is improving year after year. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stay was great except when we asked to have our refrigerator looked at as it wasn’t cold
We were there 3 days and finally looked at it ourselves. Turns out it was unplugged and noisy when plugged in but did get cold.
Desk staff were told twice and obviously didn’t tell the service staff
Chairs were very uncomfortable to sit in.. otherwise bed was comfortable!
But worst of all we told desk staff the American flag is hung incorrectly and they just rolled their eyes…don’t fly it if not hanging it correctly.
Breakfast was phenomenal and enjoyable!!
Great location!!!

The hotel itself is very nice inside, old decor, spacious. The staff was courteous. They have a bar with piano player and another bar with the view on the 14th floor. The location is convenient, nice suburbs nearby the technical university.
Breakfast had variety of selections, I didn't miss anything. The staff cleans the tables frequently. It can get busy later morning.
My room had a single bed but still big enough and the safebox was easy to operate.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Just okay. Only worth it for the history.

The room was not great. We booked a queen and got two separate twin beds. They also gave us a disability bathroom for no reason. The shower was not usable for standing up. Weird things like the kettle only worked plugged into a socket while on the floor. The bedding was very stiff. The only reason to be here is that the building is an interesting example of Soviet-era architecture.

This was an amzing hotel. The communal areas and room were all furnished to a high standard and felt luxurious. All the staff we met were friendly. Breakfast and the evening dinners were really good. Very easy to access the Old Town by tram. We loved this hotel (and the price!) And would love to return.

This Soviet-era hotel is actually pretty fun. Wonderful staff -- friendly and helpful. The rooms are a wee bit dated and ours had two tiny twin beds instead of either a king or queen -- which for a couple staying there 6 nights wasn't the best and the staff could not get us a room with a single bed. Even so, enjoyed the stay. Breakfast buffet offering was good -- decent variety and tasty. Rooms was a bit worn around the edges, but clean and comfortable enough. Could have had a more convenient outlet here and there. Shower was OK, but you had to hug the wall to not get water everywhere. Someday hotels will STOP with the 1/2 glass shower walls. Seriously. Place is next to a tram line for easy access (10-15 minutes ride) to downtown Prague. Will def be back as it's next door to friend's house. If you're a tourist to see Prague, you are NOT in the thick of things, which frankly, is to my taste. Also, water in hotel is drinkable from the tap -- always nice.

Beautiful, old hotel, with nice modern updates. We loved our suite, with nice views. The complimentary wine, schnapps and chocolate, were a nice detail. The bar at level 14 has beautiful views. The restaurant staff was verry atentive and polite. We enjoyed the dinner there, and the breakfast, wich had so much variety to choose from. Overall an amazing experience.

Room size, bed and extra sofas were very spacious. Reception, bar and common areas were nice. Staff was friendly. We had the car used hotel private parking for 12 euros per night. Street parking is hard to find.

Location wise it is okay. Probably there are big bus stops about 1.2km from here. But if you have a car or are willing to walk a bit, it very good.

Hotel's staff were nice and helpful. Room was ok but the carpets were old and not so clean. The chair in the room was broken and shower-head could not be adjusted because it was worned out. The hotel provides only towels and some cheap yellow-greenish liquid soap in a dispenser container. I went to a supermarket nearby to get my own soap bar and shampoo. Generally, the hotel looks like from the times of the former Soviet Union but it is fairly clean, breakfast is good and staff work hard. Tram/bus transport to city center or airport is easy.

The staff was great. The concierge helped arrange a taxi for me, i received a complimentary bottle of wine and pass for a free drink at the roof-top bar, and the desk staff was amazing. The facility is maintained well, but the rooms aren't sound proof. There are several restaurants in the area as well as a few markets.

Hotel looked incredible from the outside. Very welcoming and staff were friendly. The room wasn’t ready on time, which was frustrating, especially as other guests were constantly arriving and being assigned their rooms. An apology would have been nice, but it wasn’t the end of the world, we went to eat in the restaurant in the meantime.

When we got to the room, it was dated but the amenities you would expect were there. Bathroom was clean and well equipped and looked out of place as it was very modern. The room itself was clean and comfortable for the few nights we spent in it. The tv was ancient and didn’t work, but we had an iPad to watch films which helped.

Overall, the hotel is clean and friendly and has everything you need, it just needs a revival.

The check in issue was annoying but didn’t spoil what was otherwise a good stay

This was one of the most luxurious hotels I have ever stayed in. It was really impressive with a grand staircase. My room wash huge, as was also the shower. Always happy with a room with a safe too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I only had 2 disappointments, breakfast wasn't great, and my King size bed had 2 single duvets. Also being out of Prague it was a pain traveling into the city

This hotel does not have 4 stars. Barely gets to 3. A hotel is not good of bad because gives you shoe polishing. Probably for those gaggets that’s it’s getting 4 stars. One room bare! The drapes were too small for the window. The other room the drapes were way too long. This hotel needs a lot of work and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and wouldn’t come back either. There’s are real 4 star hotels in better shape.

Everything was clean, just could use a bit of an update, some fresh paint here and there, fix some dinged up corners, etc. But, the value was great. Access to public transportation was good too. A great building in the Stalinist tradition and superb woodwork throughout the property. Room was big and well appointed.
Breakfast was exactly the same every day and could have been better and more interesting with the addition of daily changes to the fare on offer. That said, it was pretty good.
Some noise from smokers outside the front entrance late at night was disappointing.
Having to pay CZ1000 as a deposit for the minibar was unexpected and the first time I have been asked to do such a thing for twenty years or so anywhere in the world.
Overall, it is a great property with loads of character and is well placed for public transport.
As a regular visitor to Prague, I would think twice about staying there again because of the compulsory cash deposit or credit card guarantee. A definite four out of five overall.

Not very close to tourist attractions but an Uber is very cheap to get to Old town / new town etc.
Hotel is very big - breakfast/ lunch / dinner daily / indoor and outdoor. Bar in lobby -Small cute rooftop. Hotel does have AC which is a plus and the rooms are a generous size for 2 people. Pizzeria is across the street but not many places to eat in the area. Some local bars a few blocks away / Would recommend for any one trying to find something affordable and for a decent sized room

Unexpected disapointment confirms terrible service

I feel obliged to take time to write this review a very unsatisfactory stay at the “Grand Hotel International Prague”. We had booked a very short 1-night stay via hotels.com for a brief relaxing and most importantly refreshing transfer to the airport next morning.

We checked in late and checked-out at approximately 4:15 am. However our stay was worse than an hostel or lodge! Upon checking in we discovered that there were no towels in the room and were given the explanation that front desk could not help with laundry problems. I stay in many hotels and its first time I found myself in situation where there are no towels available! When I requested the staff to find one towel – she arrived with a bed sheet! I certainly didn’t expect this level of service. Not withstanding such a critical miss, there was no water in room, no pillows for the second bed, and the room had a persistent mouldy smell. The front desk was also unable to find another room for the night.

The whole point of booking a night at hotel was to be able to depart fresh for Airport travels next morning. Unfortunately this was an unexpected disappointment and after complaining there is no response from hotel management which confirms their terrible attitude to service. They will surely not see me as a guest.

We had booked a room for three. We got a good sized room with an excellent view and a fair sized separate sitting area also with great unobstructed view. The sitting area had a sofa bed for our daugther.

Many items to choose from at the buffet breakfast. Food was expertly made and dishes were continuously replenished.

Public transportation is just steps away.

Couldn't be happier with this stay.

Lovely stay for a few days

The hotel is beautiful and the staff offered many activities. Room cleaning was optional each day and gifts were provided each day you chose not to have it cleaned. The breakfast was delicious and there was a huge range to choose from. My one gripe is that the toilet paper was single ply. Which I found odd honestly in a 4 star hotel.

From the day of arrival the staff at Reception, Restaurant and especially Housekeeping have been accomodating and whatever I requested they made sure it was done. It was a Home away from Home... Guest Relations Manager Josef always managed to brightened up my day with a warm 'Good morning' and 'how are you feeling today?'... Josef also gave us a list of things we could visit and was always therento provide guidance. I will miss the hotel and hoping to visit this amazing hotel in the beautiful city Prague...
