The room was clean but decor and bath quite shabby. Staff were helpful polite and pleasant. The room was very large. There were a few points which rather spoilt it. Minor complaints were that the restaurant wasnt open for lunch at weekends or on sunday evening and that the sound on the tv wouldnt go above 30, also the shower was very antiquated and taps almost falling out of the wall. My major complaint is that the bathroom stank of sh*t which if one didnt ALWAYS close the door permiated thebedroom.

There is no air condition working. I complaint 2 times. My family sleep in hot room for 2 days. They said we have some technical problems plus they have only one lift other one is broken. When I ask them to get me refund they said I have to talk to hotel. Com first and then they return. Bathroom is broken and they have water cutoff today from 10.

I booked the hotel as it was close to where I had an appointment the next day. This location is supposed to be a good area and the street is littered with Medical offices and other professional offices. I had not been to that area before.

When I arrived on Tuesday evening, there was no doorman to help with any luggage etc, just a luggage trolley inside the first door, which was manual.

I was too tired from the scrum I had just been through at Kings X to say anything.

At check in, which is conveniently tucked away so unless you know where it is, you wouldn't know it was there at all, I was greeted by a very nice gentleman who asked me for my ID and then checked me in. I was not asked for a cc card imprint, to cover incidentals, which is something that one generally has to do when checking in. He was about to give me a room number when he seemingly changed his mind and said that he would put me on the second floor, in case the lift broke down, so that I wouldn't have to walk up and down too many steps.

I thought to myself, what a lovely considerate man but did not say anything as the prospect of lifts breaking down was not a good omen.

I went to the second floor and went to my room, carrying my own bags, which I did not have a problem with. Upon entering the room and having a look around, I was to say the least somewhat unimpressed. The room looked and felt even more tired than I was. The bathroom was small and had certainly seen better days.In fact some of the fixture

We had a lovely time at this hotel; although there were renovations taking place which we weren’t aware of (which woke us up around 8am on day 1) the staff were happy to move us to a different floor where the renovations weren’t audible. Great customer service! And the hotel itself is beautiful inside.

We did late check in and had to move into another room at 1am since bathroom shower leaks. No maintenance was available.
We have 5 luggages and no assistance was extended to us despite my request.
We felt discriminated despite my platinum status membership with Expedia.
This hotel is a waste of money. Very terrrible.

The hotel itself was very dirty and outdated. There were holes on the wall. And very unclean. The bathtub in the room was broken. The staff was extremely rude as soon as we entered it smelt a cigarette smoke. The carpet was stained. We were celebrating our 14th year anniversary and we were really disappointed.

The property is close to everything within a tram ride to all shops, the hotel pretty old needs some updates or even renovations ( AC not working in our room ) weather has been cool so was not too bad we left the windows open but not all the way due to high floor. Antonia and new trainee was very nice to accommodate us for whatever we needed.

The hotel staff were very hospitable and friendly. We did face an issue on the first day due to repair work in the adjoining building, which created a very disturbing noise due to the drilling. However, the hotel staff were very quick to accommodate and change our room promptly. Overall, a nice, cozy and comfortable stay. The surrounding area is very central offers good connectivity and eating / shopping options.

OK, but decor/feel feels a bit tired.

I feel like this place/well, mainly the rooms, could do with some TLC. The kettle didn't work, one of the sockets was hanging off the wall, fan didn't work in toilet, sockets didn't work unless the light was on (!!!), not many sockets in general, bath took ages to run and water wasn't as hot as you'd expect. So yeah, could be good. Location good with tram nearby. Restaurant closed.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was warm and clean, but very characteristically period european rather than modern european furnishing. This added to the character and charm, but with a dated charm are also some features that would benefit from rejuvination.

Elderly but decent hotel

The hotel is in a mostly residential area far from the touristy parts of Brussels.
Staff are very friendly, smiley and helpful, although I had to remind them twice to deliver a chair to my room as there was nowhere to sit at the desk.
The room was comfortable enough - especially the bed - but it has seen better days: furniture was old and chipped, a cupboard door would not close properly, the water flow from the shower was extremely weak and dribbly, and the temperature of the water fluctuated unpredictably between scorching hot and tepid. Finally, the a/c did not work effectively for cooling the room and did not seem to work at all for heating: the lights were on, but nothing happened.
Overall, I would say the hotel is good but old and needs maintenance.

The hotel is nice, clean, quiet, and quaint, located in a residential and shopping area with a nice park nearby. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but judging by the menu, it seems to be very good. Same for lunch and dinner. There is a tram stop close to the hotel and by tram, it takes about 15 minutes to reach downtown Brussels. A tram passes every 10 minutes. In summary, a nice, good hotel with easy access to any place in Brussels.

Property/room was nice, didn't feel very VIP though imo, no room upgrade despite telling my partner the hotel wasn't full. One tiny bottle of wine. At one point just before check out the bath ran out of hot water and I didn't have time to call anyone as we were checking out! It's my second time visiting this hotel and my first visit was miles better so I assume I just got unlucky this time. I would probably give it another shot. The woman on checkout was so lovely and the beds are super comfortable and I really like the location

Good hotel but getting a bit tatty

I chose this hotel mainly for its convenience - it was the closest location to where I needed to be in Brussels.
The room was very spacious and the furniture comfortable, but it had seen better days: one of the cupboard doors would not close properly and kept swinging slightly open, the air-con/heating did not seem to work at all (and it was very cold that week in Brussels!), and the shower tap in the bathroom was loose in its fitting and came out of the wall as soon as I touched it, meaning that on my first morning in the hotel I could not use the shower.
To be fair, as soon as I reported the shower issue, a technician went to my room and fixed it; nevertheless, the fact remains that there is a need for ongoing maintenance.
Service at the front desk was courteous and helpful.

I stayed here for 9 nights and had the pleasure of trying three different rooms. Overall, I like this hotel and I would probably return to hotel Barsey by Warwick in the future. The staff in this hotel were all very nice!!

I however have some comments. I noticed something I did not like in my initial room and the front desk offered me a new room directly. I appreciated that. The second room was better (but incredibly cold).

My new room was not done for two days on the weekend. I do not really know why. One of the days I stayed away for very long in order to let the housekeeping personnel work in peace but no cleaning was made. The third room was the best. It was a little bit higher up in the building looking out towards the city which was nice. The other rooms was looking out in the “garden” and it was not much to see there - although still allowed for some privacy.

I tried the, very French, breakfast only once and I think it was a bit overpriced (24E) in comparison to what was on offer on the buffet.

The gym is not a gym. It is a small room that is cold. Could perhaps be improved.

The restaurant was lovely but I wish they would have menues in English. I saw other guests having lovely meals (that I possibly would have liked too) that I did not knew existed and it was difficult to convey that to the staff. The staff were however super friendly and desserts were great!

I paid through hotels.com but the hotel charged me on my credit card as well which I had to call them to get a refund.
The staff was extremely friendly.
The hotel needs to get updated… even if they want to keep the way it is decorated, they should still renovate and update.
The shower broke in one of the two rooms we stayed in.

Pre-arrival experience: Tried to call the hotel many times and sent 4 emails without reply.

Arrival experience: One lady was alone at reception also doing the room service. We waited for around 30 minutes before she could make our check-in. During the check-in no information was given about the city or practical information about the hotel, such as opening times for restaurants and how the room service works under covid. She only asked us about the time of the breakfast. We also had the right of a free bottle of wine at arrival that they forgot and gave us at check-out a half-bottle cooking wine that costs 2€ at carrefour.

Breakfast: quite good and well presented. Pity that to collect the tray of the breakfast they could not wait for a few hours and called twice our room when we had the \"do not disturb\" sign at the door.

Room: Old with some renovation work needed. The bed sheets that we order for the baby had stains all over it. Apart from that it was clean and comfortable.

Old room, needs refurbishment urgently... stained toilet floor, smelly toilet, old in general. Room was cold and heating system was not working properly. Room service took 25 minutes to deliver a bottle of water (Minibar, of course, empty). They charged me more for breakfast than what agreed. There are way better hotels in Brussels.

We were upgraded on my girlfriends birthday. Service was really good and we enjoyed our stay there.
The only issues concerned there being no medium size pillow on the bed,they were either enormous or small. In addition there was no security on the wifi.
Overall we would definitely stay again at this hotel

A young couple taken for fools - we were spoke to by a man at reception aggressively and rude. We were offered one thing and when it came to pay they thought they could pull the wool over our eyes.

The breakfast is the worst I’ve ever seen - and I’ve been travelling to 21 countries. And they tried to charge €40 for it !!

The rooms are dated the shower was disgusting and leaked.

When going to pay for our stay however we were met by the most rude impolite and aggressive man who shouted and tried to take us as fools. I do not recommend you stay here it was a poor hotel and the breakfast is overpriced, misled, basic and vile.

Excellent service, good size room, clean and bright. Great location, two minute walk to luas stop to city center (only 10 minute trip, you will be in the central of Brussels). Breakfast was good with many choices.
Air condition is a little bit noisy. Hotel should have stricter policy about smoking and more cameras to spot that. One morning I can smell the cigarette in the hall very strong. It's just a little thing and easy to fix.

Room quiet and comfortable.Could certainly be refurbished but was told it was planned.
Would say it is worth asking for a room facing the back (for quietness) and on a high floor (for the view).
Seems to be a problem of communication between Hotels.com and the hotel itself as I was asked to pay the stay whilst I already did on line at time of booking.All solved at the end.

Good hotel in a residential area close to parks.

We chose this hotel because it is near to where some friends live. The hotel was clean and comfortable with helpful staff. The only thing disconcerting to us was not the hotel's fault. On Sundays in the Ixelles section of Brussels, almost everything is closed, including the hotel's restaurant and most neighboring places to eat. As long as you plan ahead for that, everything else was fine.

Love this hotel where I stayed many times . There were some changes but not enough . The rooms must be refreshed , all the bathrooms must be optimized and totally renovated . All very old even with rusty elements which does not cope with the Confort of other aspects . Finally : breakfast should be included in the room fares . Good Location.
Last but not least the WiFi system is the most poor I’ve had in all hotel I’ve been in so many years and cities .

Comfortable well appointed hotel with friendly and helpful front desk staff. There is a small parking garage in the basement. WiFi hard to connect to and slow. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Avoid the restaurant for dinner though. Six of us ate there one night - service was super slow and Asian style food mediocre to poor.

I have known this hotel through several incarnations since 1994 and it has always been consistently excellent. The staff are charming and very helpful, the location is quiet yet relatively central and the facilities are all one would expect of a 4 star establishment.

Staff was helpful and attentive. If you are a light sleeper don't get a city view room as the tram is a bit noisy. Overall a great experience.

Excellent service with a smile,room was spacious and very clean,really liked the decor of the hotel.
The only down side is the price of the drinks,really sting you for them,other than that I can't fault it
