Nice hotel, about 10 mins out of town by taxi. You can take the tram and walk to the Grand Place quite easily. Breakfast had a wide choice, but the cooked breakfast tended to be a bit on the cold side. Some lovely restaurants nearby within walking distance. I would go back there.

More of a chain style hotel than your typical options in Europe. The room we had accommodated 3 people and was quite spacious by European standards.

Nice restaurant area and outdoor bistro tables. Didn't eat there but did get some great coffee!

A 3 min walk to the Tram and 10 min to the Metro line.

The hotel staff were very rude and condescending. They seem to be bothered if you needed anything I was missing soap and toilet paper and I got an attitude asking about needing those. My Uncle and I were disrespected by two of the hotel staff, this is unacceptable.
They may have a smile on their face, but it’s completely fake

They did not tell us that the AC did not work. They gave us incorrect directions for breakfast.
We are glad the lady in restaurant helped us by offering us a breakfast at a nominal rate.

First room stank of cigarettes and the beds kept separating.
Second room was falling apart and the shower head didn’t work.
Third room was ok but when they showed me the room they disabled my access to my room. So I couldn’t get my things to move rooms.
The lift takes forever, I had to use the stairs after 7mins waiting for the elevator.
Place is tired and old.
Btw I only booked for 2 nights and had 3 rooms.

The elevator so small and smell marijuana smoke all the time, the rooms so small and compact you barely can move around, the shower head very low if you are taller than 5 feet good luck to you… the breakfast overrated when one item finish and you ask for more as if they are bothered to be asked will tell you it’s coming with loud voice and unhappy. The kitchen lady the one check the names and room number very rude as if you are dining for free.

Hotel was clean,staff were pleasant,room was comfortable,bed was very nice,windows were crazy had to hold them back as they opened so far into the room,Amenities poor no bar or restaurant open at weekends, area very residential so not many places to find although the tram to town was 4 minutes away.So as myself and my wife like to relax in the hotel after a day out I would not recommend the Catalonia for a romantic weekend.

Located in the Saint Gilles neighborhood, the Hotel Catalonia Brussels offers a pleasant stay at a reasonable price. While not centrally placed, it is close to the main shopping, eating, and entertainment thoroughfares. I actually view this as a positive as I dislike staying in heavily trafficked areas. A 10 to 15 minute walk will land you on Avenue Louise, one of Brussels’ major shopping and dining areas. From here you can access most anything. The accommodations were nice; my room was located on the 7th floor and featured a loft ceiling and large window that let out onto a small balcony. Everything was clean and tidy, though the bathroom would benefit from an update. A few small improvements like repairing the leaky shower column, upgrading the aged and discolored toilet seat, and refinishing the stained tub surface would result in big gains as would realigning the tracks for the closet doors, which were difficult to open at times. As for other aspects of the room, the bed was quite comfortable, temperature control was good, and the room was fairly spacious. I appreciated the complimentary slippers and robe as well (though I only used the slippers). Overall, I was quite pleased with the service and with my Hotel Catalonia experience.

A really nice hotel, in a nice part of town. We we able to walk to a local pub for dinner and take a stroll in the area after. We felt very safe in our stroll. The staff were very gracious and we definitely would stay their again on our next visit. This is definitely not in the tourist area and we really experienced the local flavor. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very Nice area, ok hotel, service not so much

The local area is great with a fantastic bar on the corner of the street for local vibe. There is street parking overnight for free after 6 pm which was very convenient. Parking at the hotel was virtually non-existent , 5 teeny tiny parking spaces with a difficult to park garage.
Negatives:
Booked double beds got two single beds joined together, room is very small but with a very functional washroom - very large compared to room
In the hallway and elevator since the shared or common areas are not air-conditioned there is a constant smell of what seemed to be sewage, once your in the air conditioned room it disappears .No idea what the foul smell was due to? Old pipes, hot weather. The area is very nice , safe and well to do with lots of parking and hotel room was fine except for that sewage smell. Staff needs to learn English or French , all they seem to understand is Spanish, which makes it hard to communicate. We came off a long international flight and they did not care to help us get an early check in. Only one of the three of us got a check-in at noon the rest had to wait til 2 pm. Service was less than average in my opinion.

Great value!

Great location for my stay for business. Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel quality... Got a very good rate and wasn't expecting much for it but everything was smooth and had a room with everything I needed including desk and enough space. Room hadn't been cleaned perfectly but you can't have it all! Would stay here again, thanks!

Great stay at the Catalonia

We stayed one night at the Catalonia. It was very easy to get to with the tram from the train station, and just a short walk to the hotel. Very nice lobby, reception was very friendly and checked us in quickly. Room was nice,clean. Breakfast was served very nicely, plenty to choose from. Location is in a nice residential area, very wuiet. Will definitely stay there again.

Nice 3 star hotel not on a main road, so quiet. Friendly staff. The breakfast service is very good. A member of staff will make a custom omelette if you wish. The hotel belongs to a spanish catalonian chain and some of the staff have a spanish accent.

A very decent hotel with helpful friendly staff. Located in a quieter part of Brussels, there are still local stores for all your needs. Transport seems decent although I didn't use it. Please consider adding in-room coffee/tea facilities,as it would have made the stay perfect!

It was a good hotel but we could not sleep at night because of bad smell inside the room during our whole stay.
The breakfadt wea very good with many choices. The front desk girl was very helpful. First they gave us 2- bedroom where we booked for 3-bedroom. Instantly they changed our room. That was really appreciated. We asked for extra pillows, they gave one but was not very clean. We didn't use them.
The location as very good. Except the bad smell, the hotel was very good.

In terms of value it was reasonable, but when i arrived i was give a room with 3 single beds rather than a double and after complaining they reluctantly changed it. The lifts broke and although i was on the 6 floor i only had a small bag so was ok. But its clean and reasonably placed and does not claim to be a 4/5 star hotel so i guess is fine

It was a pleasant stay at the Hotel. The staff was very helpful, quick to help, and full of information. The room was fine, but a little tight considering we were 3 persons in the room( not a fault of hotel). The refrigerator was not working but they supplied ice in a bag to help( it did melt and leak out on the floor), We had medicine that needed to stay cold.
We did have an issue with a charge/fee that is in dispute but was told that it will be resolved within a couple of days. Other than that the hotel was charming, friendly, and walking distance to where I needed to be.
The lobby area was always clean and the small exercise room as well.
Ps
They made me a great cup of coffee at 7am even though the breakfast room was not yet opened.
I will be back to this hotel when I return to Brussells

Good quality hotel just outside the centre

This is a good hotel where I have stayed a couple of times before. It's in the inner suburbs between St Gillis and Ixelles but with the tram to the centre nearby. The room was comfortably furnished and clean. On this occasion I felt that the room could have been a couple of degrees warmer. It's not just me, the previous occupant had left the temperature control on max, although it did not seem to make any difference. But it was OK because of the winter duvet on the bed. I also remembered that the hot water takes a long time to come through. It got there in the evening but in the morning I gave up waiting and had a lukewarm shave. Some reviews mentioned the lack of a kettle - the hotel has a range of rooms with extra facilities in the superior ones. There is a good range of food for breakfast although €14 is near the top of the price range. I like the hotel and would choose it again.

Location was very convenient to my conference, and price very reasonable. Hot water took ages to come through, and I was woken up two mornings by very loud voices in the corridor, so sound proofing wasn't great. But staff were helpful and friendly. Fine for a business place to stay.

We found the hotel with basic facilities, we were allocated a very small room for two people without the option of paying extra for a better room. On arrival we had to pay for our 3 night stay and breakfast for three days, not just showing a credit card. That night we decided to have a meal but the food was dreadful very poorly cooked not even a decent omelette. However breakfast was acceptable and the staff at breakfast were more efficient.

I have stayed at this hotel for three times and it's the same every time. Comfortable and clean rooms. Also the breakfast is all right but maybe a bit expensive. The restaurant is not the best and its also closed during weekends. Its not a problem because there is a lot of restaurants within 5 minutes of walking. But still, sometimes its convenient having an open restaurant in the hotel. Anyway, I would not doubt staying here again.

I chose this hotel for a conference stay. I would consider choosing it again because it is very quiet, the internet is reliable, and the desk staff is friendly. It is not, however, in the main part of Brussels. If you are looking for an experience where you can walk out of your hotel and see museums and nightlife, this might not be the hotel for you.

We spent two nights and overall enjoyed our stay. It is part of a chain of Spanish owned hotels. It is modern and efficient. The staff was mostly helpful, there was an International New York Times in the lobby, and the bar and dining room were available for eating.

Good location, helpful staff, nice beakfast. But hotels these days have no excuse for providing an uncomfortable matress; small, insubstantial pillows; and inadequate room ventilation. Previously stayed at this hotel and had none of these problems. They need to invest in guest comfort -- bedding and ventilation -- at least in room 312!

A hotel which is definitely not of 3-star quality.

The room I received was rather small for two, there was an extra third bed in the room occupying a lot of space which would have been nice to have. The toilet did not work properly, the walls were dirty, would need a repaint, there was hair on the pillow. The breakfast is extra, it is of acceptable quality.

Modern and clean hotel

We were here on holiday to visit brussels centre.

Hotel was clean and modern with comfortable beds.

Parking was expensive at 18 euros per night, and we later found out that you can stay further out of brussels and park at the Park at Ride for free at the outskirts of central brussels. if you are on business or visiting nearby I think it may well suit.

We didn't have breakfast as didn't have the time but the selection looked quite good.

The hotel is not at the center of the city but offers close access to downtown attractions and the train station via tram. Room is clean and cozy. Excellent staff, really trying to help out with everything. Wifi works great. Will definitely stay again when travelling back to Brussels

La posizione è buona con poco rumore. L’hotel in generale dimostra la sua età. Le camere non sono molto spaziose ma possono andar bene. L’apertura della finestra è stata problematica, un’anta incrociava l’altra…… impossibile aprire con facilità. Il bagno poco pulito e soprattutto con un odore terribile di latrina che si spargeva nella stanza da letto. La porta del bagno che andava tenuta sicuramente chiusa, era cigolante sia all’apertura che alla chiusura e quindi, quando usata di notte, svegliava l’altro componente della camera. Abbiamo chiesto al concierge una pulizia più profonda e profumata del bagno ma non abbiamo ottenuto nulla. Direi in generale che si tratta di un hotel un po’ datato che dovrebbe avere un restauro soprattutto dei bagni e un servizio più attento e accurato.

Der Empfang an der Rezeption war sehr gut. Die Dame war sehr nett und er Check In ging sehr schnell. Das Zimmer war für einen Städtetrip mehr als ausreichend und es war sehr sauber! Bett war riesig und durchaus bequem. Die Lage des Hotels ist abhängig wo man hin will gut bis ok. Öffentlicher Nahverkehr ist um die Ecke und Restaurants etc sind reichlich zu Fuß erreichbar. Zur Innenstadt sind es ca. 3km. Einzigster Kritikpunkt ist, dass die Hotel eigenen Garage keine SUVs oder VAN etc aufnehmen kann. Wer also mit dem PKW kommt und so ein Gefährt fährt, sollte sich zuvor erkundigen. Wir konnte vor der Tür mit Parkschein parken. Tatsächlich nicht wirklich teuer. Ab 9:30 morgens bis 18:00 abends muss man zahlen. Wer zwischendurch eh weg will, hat hier eine gute Alternative zu den möglichen Parkgaragen in Laufdistanz. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und würden wieder kommen wenn es uns nochmals in die Gegend verschlägt.

Rummet mörkt men ok och badrummet slitet, handdukstorken var rostig och färgen flagnade. Saknade balsam i badrummet. De vita handdukarna var slitna och grådaskiga. Den kvinnliga receptionisten var mycket trevlig och hjälpsam. De manliga portiererna var oengagerade och frågade inte ens om vi hade haft det bra på hotellet eller tackade när vi checkade ut. Frukostbuffén var ok, men det var snålt med mat och ofta tomma fat i buffén.
Blir ett annat hotell nästa gång. Dyra rum och inte värt priset.

Je m’attendais à mieux un 4 étoiles et pour le tarif.

Je moet dus je auto op 10 minuten loopafstand van het hotel parkeren en het hotel zorgt niet dat ze daar aan mee betalen of een deel betalen. Daarnaast zijn de ramen heel erg onhandig je kan ze niet op een kier zetten maar je moet dus allebei de ramen openzetten maar dan kan iedereen die in het appartement aan de overkant woont zo je kamer binnen kijken. De liften zijn heel erg klein, wij hadden 2 grote koffers en 2 tassen en pasten er zelf amper in. Het personeel was wel aardig. De ligging is goed. ze zeiden dat het hotel geluidstil is maar dat is niet zo je hoort de auto’s en zelfs te tram rijden.

Voor de rest liggen de bedden leggen alleen niet te veel met je rug tegen de muur leunen want dan verrijdt je het bed, die heeft namelijk wielen. De airco werkte ook niet dus het was best heet met de zon op onze kamer.

Verder een net hotel.

Irritable receptionist.

The receptionist was not specially satisfied with her day. She seems very irritable, and unhappy having guests. The room was okay though. The breakfast buffet was also okay.
