Slightly strange to check in on a screen with no human contact. I had not previously been informed that I would have to pay a city tax and when I was prompted to pay at check-in (I was confused because I had already paid online) it was difficult to locate a staff member to talk to. The location was good, a little out of the city centre but the city is very walkable so we were able to get into the city centre in 15 minutes. There is a communal kitchen downstairs that was stocked with dishes, which was convenient. We chose this hotel as one stop on a longer vacation because of the laundry facilities and were slightly disappointed when we found out it was 7 euros for each machine (14 euros if you wanted to wash and dry one load) so we did not end up utilizing this facility.

I arrived a half hour before checkin and the woman who came to help would only check me in early for 25 euro. For half an hour early? The room is obviously ready. Come on now. Otherwise it was fine. The room had scuff marks on the walls and the neighborhood Can get rowdy but it felt safe.

Didn't see any staff, but were in the office if you needed them. Checkin & out are automated & very quick. Room & shower were excellent size & comfortable, with working air con. Good communal facilities. Only weakness was the choice of floor covering: a black type of matting, this shows remnants of cream & must make cleaning difficult (I should have asked them to clean). Fortunately I had my slippers so left it as on arrival, otherwise the hotel was clean, modern & spotless

There is also a communal area on the bottom floor where fridges are available if you need to store anything as well as a kettle if you want to make a drink. Location was good, not far from a metro station, or about a 20-25 minute to the central train station.

The check-in and chekout is so easy, the facilities are really nice, simple but modern. The place is well connected with public transportation (5 min Metro and 2 min tram) and a lot of options of restaurants and stores. Also the real palace is close walking (20 min). The kitchen common area is enough with several fridges, sitting area and the table games are a great plus.

Booked a single room, nice room with plenty of space for one. Clean and comfy bed. Was especially cozy with the small light. I could hear the trams but I liked the noise so wasn't fussed by them. Air conditioning didn't seem to do much but not an issue as it was mild outside. About a 7 minute walk from metro stop. Had a locked baggage room to drop bags off at which was handy. Overall had a pleasant stay

A short walk from the closest metro station which is only a few stop from Brussels Zuid train station. Room was really clean and spacious. There isn't a kettle in the room but hot water can be gotten from the guest kitchen on the first basement.

Out of the 4 nights I have stayed in the property, the first half were troubling, but the second half was acceptable. The top floor room I was first assigned to didn't have functional air circulation (warm humid air was expressed even if the aircon was turned to max setting). Fortunately, under the help of the hotel staff I was moved to a lower floor.
However, there was a power issue on the floor the next night and it wasn't fixed until beyond midnight. The staff member was being as helpful as they can, but there weren't enough staff to manage a separate customer issue as well as the power issue (which affected more rooms).
The room reminds me of another hotel brand which are also minimalistic in branding and services, but unfortunately my experience in Citybox Brussels has deterred me from choosing the brand in other cities, which is a shame. I do have to say I am thankful for the in-house staff which tried their best to troubleshoot things, and the room itself is fine (furniture and interior design wise) but the rooms are inconsistent in quality, so the opinions are polarizing.

Brussels Hotel for a non eventful Saturday night was expensive. Citybox is exactly what it says. You are in a box. While I would understand it if it was to keep costs down, it wasn't cheap. It also was in an ok region, but nothing special was at the doorstep to make this a prime location.it wasn't horrible, but over priced.
If i win the lottery, I might consider staying again, as it had facilities that required paying for, like laundrette for 7€, coffee machine for 3€, plates and fridge, but lacking kitchen utensils to prep and cook food. Maybe ok for breakfast?

Hotel is centrally located in Brussels (closest metro line is Louise but also extremely walkable if you are up for a little exercise). Hotel is very modern and self check in and out machine… very convenient, rooms are great (we got the one next to the street, which is fine but during like festivals or events, the sound can be bad.. 😅)
However two issues staying here recently (at least 1st week of May 2025)…
1. Entire Hotel turned up the heaters so the room gets hot (you can manually shut it off but some of heat will still flow inside). Therefore this is a “centrally” controlled Cooling/Heating hotel even though you have options to either turn on A/C or Heating.. So had to crack open the window but at the time, too much craziness was happening so it was noisy
2. Bathroom is tiny.. and the shower itself, the water pressure was a bit weak and also the drain itself is clogged… they need to make sure there isn’t a pool of water hovering and waiting to be drained out 3-5 mins afterwards, it should be microseconds that the water should drain out… maybe too many hairs from previous guests??

So, this is advertised as a sustainable building. I was not exoevting much, but I was happily surprised. There's no TV, phone or other amenities, but there is great speed WiFi and a hairdryer. The room is modernly designed. I really enjiyed my stay! Oh! The bed is sooooo comfortable. The room I was booked in had a large wondow, so great lighting.
The hotel is in a prome location, near the high street. Therefore, numerous stores, restaurants and access to public transport. This will be my go to for my furire Belgium stays.

Great location, room is basic with no TV etc but that didn't bother me as I was out a lot so wasn't spending any time really at the hotel. Clean room, good shower and bed was comfy enough. My only issue was the lack of air con, I was very warm and found it difficult to sleep and you can't open the windows to cool the room down.

Property looked okay when we arrived. Easy enough to check in and we paid for early check in as we had an early flight and was heading to the football.
Room seemed okay at first so we thought after an awful first night sleep. Pillows are terrible, so flimsy and thin. The mattress is even worse, thin as well and not really comfortable, partner woke up with a very sore back. Room apparently had A/C, which again didn't work as it should and didn’t provide cool air to the room when it was quite warm. We checked online and was told we could ask for more pillows and a fan at reception to hopefully help give us a better night sleep.
We went to reception and we were told we couldn't have any more pillows as the hotel was “fully booked” and there was no spare, a quick browse online debunked this theory as there were more than 10 rooms available to book. We then asked for a fan and was told it wasn’t a fan, more of a heater.
While we were out exploring we actually had to buy a pillow at H&M Home on the hight street which cost us €12 each to help us get a better sleep as the hotel were non-existent in helping.
There were also no TV in the room which we could have sworn was available at the time of booking.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend booking here and avoid. For the cost of the hotel you expect some sort of decent customer service when we asked but we didnt. Its not like it was cheap!!!

Room seemed okay at first so we thought after an awful first night sleep. Pillows are terrible, so flimsy and thin. The mattress is even worse, thin as well and not really comfortable, partner woke up with a very sore back. Room apparently had A/C, which again didn't work as it should and didn’t provide cool air to the room when it was quite warm. We checked online and was told we could ask for more pillows and a fan at reception to hopefully help give us a better night sleep.
We went to reception and we were told we couldn't have any more pillows as the hotel was “fully booked” and there was no spare, a quick browse online debunked this theory as there were more than 10 rooms available to book. We then asked for a fan and was told it wasn’t a fan, more of a heater.
While we were out exploring we actually had to buy a pillow at H&M Home on the hight street which cost us €12 each to help us get a better sleep as the hotel were non-existent in helping.
There were also no TV in the room which we could have sworn was available at the time of booking.

Loved our stay at the Citybox Brussels! Easy to check in with the machines and our room was ready a little earlier. Hotel is clean, modern, and spacious. Lots of walkable stores, restaurants and attractions nearby. Staff thst we talked to were so friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay again!

Overall a really good hotel, has everything you need for a short stay. Small simplistic room, and fantastic facilities downstairs. Their lobby and common area underneath make very good places to relax after a long day and do some laundry and/or cook if you need to. Only downside was the size, I am a large 6’3” man so walking around and showering were a bit difficult.

It was really nice. Simple, very clean, close to public transport and city centre.
There is a guest kitchen and dining area where you can store and heat up food as well as access hot water. It is kept nice and clean and tidy. There is also a selection of games and books and a ping pong table. Excellent for staying with kids and when the weather is not so pleasant.
