Only one robe and slippers in a room for two people, got charged £150 on arrival randomly and was refunded this back but it wasn’t told to us until we arrived, pool was so cold and sauna is being refurbished - again, weren’t told, online says kids until 6pm & there was kids jumping in the pool at 7, again it said it shut at 10pm and shut at 8! Very misleading rules and staff that aren’t enforcing it. Other than that, was an okay stay but probably wouldn’t return.

An absolute dream of a central Brussels hotel. Perfect location between city sights and family in the suburbs. The staff was top-notch and provided impeccable service, especially at The Poet. Best breakfast buffet we have had in a long time. Merci!

The room was clean and large. You had a fridge and water bottle that you could fill up by the lift, however, they wanted to charge us €29 per person which I thought was extortionate. I believe it should have been offered at a reduced rate considering we were horel guests....

Everyone I spoke to at the hotel was friendly and helpful - the room was a great size and comfortable. Great shower! The location of the hotel was perfect for us, with lots of day trips planned - the train station just a minute away and the metro also easily walkable. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious, which was perfect for us with our two daughters. The bathroom was clean and large, and the buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious. The pool had a wonderful view that made our time there even more special.

More than i expected from the hotel compared to the price paid and the location which is near a main metro station and centre of Brussels. Gym dated but everything needed for a pro builder. Nice size pool and good breakfast. Go for the family room which was huge

No towels available at swimming pool and not enough in room to bring down. Changing room floors covered in hair, had not been cleaned for a while. Broken lockers, no door to change, dirty changing rooms. Hot chocolate for €5 was only heated choco milk from a carton, not made.

Don’t stay here if you have children. The hotel has a discriminatory and unfair policy regarding its pool hours, whereby children may not use the pool after 6pm. It’s a ridiculous policy since families travelling on vacation are likely exploring the city during the day, which only allows the evening to enjoy the hotel facilities.

We would have booked another hotel if this policy was known. We shared screenshots of the Marriott website and the Marriott app that do not disclose the discriminatory pool hours for children. It was only after we pointed out the non-disclosure did management update the website.

Other items of note:
- The location is not great
- Restaurant staff are not very friendly and welcoming
- Front desk and housekeeping staff were pleasant
- Rooms and common areas are upgraded and modern

We would recommend staying somewhere else on your family trip.

The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, a couple of minutes walk from Brussels Luxembourg Station, its 10 euro by Uber to Grand Place.
The in house restaurant, the Poet, is very good and the bar informal with great staff.

Traveling family of five w a lot of luggage. From start to finish the service provided here was simply outstanding. We arrived to check-in later than expected and the concierge made our arrival seamless. They took care of getting our bags to our room so we could eat dinner at their restaurant, which was about to close. The restaurant, meal and service were great. Our server was very helpful and informative about the area. Late check out and luggage storage was accommodated. We were so very pleased w everyone and everything from start to checkout.

In my room at least, the bathroom was a bit dated… but that comment is only meant to those readers who make a point of having a separate WC and for whom a spacious Italian shower is a must.

Hotel’s location is fantastic. Room bathroom bedding is great. All these are 5 star so far. The staff though is not what I expect from Renaissance. They are cold, definitely not friendly. These are not only 1, the receptionist who welcomed us as well as the staff who were welcoming at the restaurant. Quite disappointing as it paints the wrong perception about otherwise very good hotel

Found out at check in that they were going to take a deposit for ‘extras’. I explained that I wouldn’t be having any ‘extras’ but she took the money anyway. Had I known previous to check in that they required a deposit I would have budgeted accordingly! I now have to wait 72 hours from checking out yesterday to get my deposit back. Room was nice, beds super comfy and clean. 2 bottles of complimentary water, tea/coffee/kettle, no milks. Only downside to the room was the bathroom. Not upto my standard, Dirty/stained along shower screen, toilet stained, bath where you stand to shower looks black, could be better. Overall was a decent stay.

A scaled-back operation from what it was some years ago (the dining area is noticeably smaller, there's no jacuzzi at the pool area any more and the swimming pool area could do with a make-over), this is nonetheless still my favourite hotel and it's a pleasure to stay here. I hope to be back very soon!

Old but convenient to train station

receptionist was wonderful. But the tv didn’t work. So I walked down stairs and asked for someone to come look at it at 2:30pm. No one came. I asked the cleaning service to see if the remote needed batteries and they said it wasn’t their job. . At 10pm I called again. No one came. At 11:39 I fixed the tv myself just as a guy in a black suit showed up to help. I was there only 1 night.

Also, we are a tech world and there were no chargeing stations. Very inconvenient to plug phone by the bathroom 5 feet away.

Location is quite good. Centre is about a 20 min walk.
The check in process was terrible. From the time that we arrived at the hotel to us checking in, parking, and then talking luggage up to the room it took an hour. Directions to the underground parking were not given clearly. No porter services or help was provided despite us asking for help as we had a lot of luggage. On the day we were checking out we were in fact told to just use the Porter trolley ourselves.
The hotel building itself is ok and the location isn’t bad. But due to the experience we received from the staff we will not be returning to this hotel.

It is an OK hotel but definitely needs to renew the facilities, the water in the shower would not drain, water itself was either hot or cold, nothing in between. There is a constant queue at the reception as well not sure what is causing it but anything you need you will have to wait.

Scaffolding outside the hotel and no mention of it on the website or even on check in. When we went to our room, our window had scaffolding outside. Work men started at 8am banging... when we complained they did not do anything, they just said they had complaints from other guests also. Staff didnt care.

Pool area is a disgrace, mould everywhere and not pleasent.

It is such a shame this hotel could be a great hptel.

The hotel it's was lovely. The rooms where really big and looked a lot more nicer than I thought it was going to be for the price. Staff where friend, and the pool was a bonus. The only downside was the Poet restaurant, absolutely awful customer service and actually rude. We went down for a coffee mid morning and the stuff said there was no need to book for our meal in the evening for our dad's 70th birthday. When we arrived in the evening a lady who claimed to be the owner of the poet restaurant stated that we had to make a reservation which we told her we where informed the opposite. She was really rude saying it, and there was clearly tables free. She made zero effort to be helpful. She could see we have a 1 year old and 2 year old and was out rude and even stated 'well I'm the owner and I'm telling you'. It was a freezing day and we wanted to stay it. DO NOT GOT TO THE RESTAURANT, its also over priced for what it is. A shame as the restaurant let the hotel down.

Disappointed that there were was no access to stairs to get to your room, as only 1 lift was working and it took forever to get to and from your room. Staff were not that helpful when asking where the stairs were, and siad they had to be 'unlocked' to be used?? What would happen in an emergency? No note on broken lifts either. The plug points in the bedroom were all in the wrong place, and it was a faff to find the best place to plug in the kettle. Also no milk for tea, only powered stuff. For a 4 star hotel disappointing.

Disappointing time after time

They could no locate our check in when we arrived. Two staff members gave conflicting information. It took over 30 minutes to check us in and there was confusion over payment when we had already paid in advance. Was then advised that the pool was open until 10pm. Finally got to the room and got ready to go for a swim. When arrived on the level of the pool. All facilities were locked up. Enquired again at the front desk and was informed by a different member of staff that the pool closed at 8pm on weekends and has been the case for years. When pushed further they said the previous staff member was the supervisor and should have known better. When checking out, they mixed up my details with a previous customer and printed their home address and email on my receipt, clearly GDPR was no concern. As they issued a further receipt with another customer’s private address. Disappointing service overall and rooms were also of a certain era in much need of refreshing. The toilet in my room would also not stop flushing, but by that point I’d given up on any hope of getting appropriate service.

Poor laundry service. Got left in van and then washed at hotel. Needed fresh cleaned laundry and was Delivered damp after 2 days. Fortunately no charge but why advertise a service that you can’t fulfil. Wouldnt say this was a one off as I observed other hotel guests mention the same issue

Room cleaning didnt happen on my last day until I mentioned to reception at 5pm and then they just made the bed.

Hotel located near EU Parliament with good transport links via bus and rail to airport nearby. It is about 20 minute walk to shopping district.
Hotel is modern and spacious with a swimming pool.

The hotel is nice, with large rooms. The bed was a bit to soft to my taste and I found only 2 wall plugs which were not in the most convenient places.
The hotel is close to the EU parlament and Leopold Park but 30 minutes walk to the Grand Place.
Otherwise all was fine.

The front desk staff was very helpful in providing information about Brussells. However, the main lobby was under construction so there was no bar/restaurant in the building (there was a temporary one next door). The hotel in centrally located on a quiet street. The pool was nice (and the reason we chose to stay at this particular hotel), but kids' hours are limited to 10am-6pm. After sightseeing or day trips, we did not often get back before 6pm so the could not take full advantage of the pool; if kids; hours were even 1 hour later it would have made a big difference. The room was a nice standard hotel room, but there was a musty smell. The windows open so we were able to air it out, but after being out all day with the windows closed, it would be back (seems like it needed a deep cleaning).
