The hotel is decent, in a good area with a lot of different ethnic restaurants, and has underground parking, but nothing that made me want to choose it again a second time. It’s a bit dated, in an old building with cracks and peeling paint kind of way.

Woken up every day between 7 and 7.30am by the very loud circular saw noise of the street construction.
Internet/wifi worked poorly at night. Not great for jet lagged people.
Gym is closed from 10pm to 8am. Again not great for traveling people or people woken up by the construction's noise.

Hotel is nicely located in the EU area near the Metro station and row of restaurants. Room is quite small including beds whose mattresses need to be upgraded. Breakfast food is very limited and could use some improvement.

From check in with Duran til our moment of departure, we were treated royally in this charming EU quartier The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful Breakfast is a banquet. Enjoy the fresh waffles. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the grand square downtown. But only 2 minutes to the Metro.

Five Day Business Trip

Five day business trip. Excellent location near Shuman Circle in EU Commission area. Easy access to Metro, Airport Bus, many Pubs and Restaurants close by. Breakfast buffet is excellent, room and bed were very comfortable, quiet, good temperature control. Furniture is fine, but somewhat spartan (tables with legs, very few drawers).

Lovely hotel in a quiet location in the European quarter , 200 metres from the metro line giving you easy access to all the tourist attractions. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff who were all so welcoming. Would definitely stay here again if I returned to Brussels.

The hotel is conveniently located near the European Commission. A 2 minute walk and one finds them self standing in front of the main entrance. Alot of food options on your door step when staying here.

Staff at check in didn’t explain where breakfast was/that it was included, you get a free guided tour of EU - available every Sunday at 10am - you have to prebook this with reception at least 24 hrs prior - posters don’t tell you this and staff didn’t mention it on check in so missed out on it as noticed it too late! Room had a fridge but it didn’t work - no instructions either so unsure if I was working it wrong or just not working..

The carpet was very dirty especially by the door. The magnifying mirror by the sink was very difficult to move up and down; I am short. In spite of my clearly leaving towels unused, all were replaced, contrary to your eco-policy. I was surprised to find the restaurant and room service not available on a Friday evening. Staff had to replace the kettle 4 times before finding one that worked. The original one would not shut off, so that the handle became scalding hot and impossible to pick up, to remove from the stand.

Martin's Brussels Hotel

The Martin's Brussels hotel being right next to the EU is focused at business people. The room was comfy and had plenty of space, also easy to work in the room . The only down side was the shower over the side of the bath, ok if you are 5ft tall and slim. Anything outside of that and it is a challenge. There was a good choice for breakfast, and the evening meal was very tasty and well presented.

Very smart and clean modern hotel, close to the European commission and Schuman metro/railway station.
Room was compact but comfortable, bathroom had a bath with shower overhead. Buffet breakfast is very nice, and was a good start to the day.
Only small criticism is 2 single duvets on a double bed and no soapdish in the bathrooms

I think it was quite good. I have travelled a lot during my life and there is certain things that I want to be able to rate an hotel as good or average. The first thing I want to say is that today it is important for a good hotel to have a decent gym. You have a gym but it is to small. We were 3 people up there in the morning and it felt crowded.
Breakfast is very good. Top rate. But why is it not included in the price. In Sweden the breakfast is usually always included in the price, but I have experienced that in Brussel it is not in many cases. Otherwise it was a good stay.

SAVE A LITTLE It's only 3 metro stops to the City

The hotel is very well kept, smells amazing when you walk into the reception/foyer area. Staff do their job (I.e. check in was swift so not such a long contact point with the staffing team for us, so can't provide a comment). At any point during your stay, feel free to ask the attending desk staff if it is possible to request a \"late checkout\" free of charge. Hotels.com advertise their checkout to be 11am, but since our OuiBus back to Paris was scheduled for 2pm, we were able to checkout at 2pm. To have that buffer provided a peace of mind and we could take out time packing the morning of our departure.

The location is a quite a long walk away from the City Centre, but fortunately their metro/train systems work fantastically there in Brussels (Bruxelles), and next to the hotel (exit the hotel, go right, and simply walk 150m straight walk - past the long row of flags) is a metro stop called \"Bruxelles-Shuman\" station. It'll cost 2.10 Euro per ticket to get into \"Gare Centrale\" Station (same for the return) which is only 3 stops (5-7 minutes travel time only). Trains come regularly. And gets you to the centre where all the bars are.

For the excellent price that we got for our booking, and the fact it was an attempt to do a cheap weekend trip away, the hotel provided an excellent 'base' to put out luggage and still be within attainable distance to get to all of the bars. 15 minutes overall travel time from the hotel front door to the City Centre. Enjoy!!

modern hotel in EU area

The hotel is a modern, business orientated hotel on the edge of the EU district. It is easily accessible by bus or train from the airport (Schuman Station) and by metro to the rest of the city. The room has a modern motif with all the usual amenities including coffee service, mini-fridge and safe. I had enjoyable stay for more than a week at the beginning of January. The only downside is that the EU area is completely dead on the weekends because the local restaurants, etc. cater to the bureaucratic crowd so you probably have to take the breakfast buffet on the weekend.

New Year Trip to Brussels. Easy to use Metro and get into the city centre. Our only criticism is the size of the rooms. They are small. If you are offered 701 then you have the gym next to you and the sound of the running machine comes through the walls. Refuse this room. We asked to be moved for our second night this was done with minimum of fuss.

Great hotel in the business district and so a little far from all the tourist places. However, a delightful hotel with good rooms and nice enough gym. Friendly staff. Great value for money especially if you are staying the weekend as the hotel is in financial district opposite the EU parliament and so not so busy during weekends.

Lovely little hotel hidden away in Brussels, although it's a fair distance from the airport the surrounding points of attraction are well worth the travel. Work out your travel plans before you book, please be aware taxis are extremely expensive here. The coach from the airport to the midi station is well worth it, a walk through the midi into the Elizabeth line is easy enough. We then walked the 1.3 mile to the hotel. Friendly welcoming staff, room cosy and cleaned daily.

Beware - they overbook!!!

I have stayed in the hotel a couple of times, and it was not the first time I had room booking problems. But, while before this time, even with a superior room booked and confirmed for late arrival, they did not have a room available for me when I arrived. As a result, they sent me to another hotel, which was a 3* instead of 4* and all I had available was a small room in the ground floor, with some reception noise and without AC. I slept badly and it really killed my next day of work. And then, when I asked a refund they refused. Everything in the entire experience was terrible. Stay away from them in busy periods!!!

The hotel room is really great! It comes with fridge and also a smart tv which allow you to browse internet! The bed is very comfy and I like it most because it is wooden floor instead of carpet, so it is really clean! The hotel is located in walking distance to the EU parliament building and a bus stop, and a Metro train station named \"Schuman\" which #1 and #5 will passby.

The hotel made for a very pleasant stay. The receptionists were multilingual and always happy to help. The hotel was in the centre of the city with easy walking distance to the tourist areas. A short 20 minute walk away from places like the Cinquantenaire, Grand-Place, the Royal Palace and the European Parliament. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay, wish I had stayed longer. Excellent customer services from the Receptionist to the janitors. I like that I am 15mins away by train from the city (Gare Centrale). I was abble to hop on & off the tour bus next to the station. I love the quietness of the area and a large park for joggers and a diverse selections of top restaurants including an Irish Bar. Free parking outside the hotel. The hotel has a fab menu list, shame the kitchen is closed part of August.

Having Berlaymont as a neighbour!

Martin's EU Hotel is just down the street from the major EU buildings in a transition area to residential and therefore somewhat away from the center of town. I stayed for three nights during the week after New Year -- the EU was not in session and the hotel was very quiet. I have stayed here a few times over the last couple of years, excellent staff and well-appointed, modern rooms. The breakfast buffet was very good and you are not rushed out. The hotel is very convenient to the airport with the 12/21 bus line and the Metro from Shuman Station is the quickest way around town. This hotel can be a great value when the EU is out of session.

A nice welcoming hotel just outside the centre

We stayed here while visiting relatives over the Christmas period, so we didn't use any of the hotel's facilities beyond the room itself. That said, the front desk was always manned by very polite French and English speaking staff, the room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with windows opening onto a fairly quiet street and it had climate control. The hotels is quite new and almost next to the EEC building; not in the city centre. The surrounding area is not quaint, but it has small streets with Irish pubs, small local shops and local cafes aplenty and these are better value than those in the centre. There are two parcs close by. Breakfast at the hotel looked pricey but there are the aforementioned cafes nearby. It is a short walk to Schumann tube station or about 25 minutes walk through the EEC office district to the Grande Place. The hotel charged us a little over £63 a night for a double room with an additional 23 euros city tax for three nights, payable on check-out, but this was notified to us on the prepayment. All in all, decently appointed, welcoming and good value for money.

More like a three star hotel

The room was stark and bare. Not even a floor length mirror, iron or room service menu was in the room. For $275 euros per night! Which is surprising as the hotel is so close to the EU commission (probably the main thing going for it). Nothing on the walls, not even art. The entire room felt really sterile. Couldn't wait to check out.

Both check in and check out processes were disorderly. Staff seemed to be in a bad mood from the start and couldn't find my Expedia reservation and on checkout overcharged me for the room and even though I showed them my Expedia reservation on my phone kept the higher price.

Restaurant attendant/chef lady was very unpleasant and seemed in a bad mood too; it seemed that she was upset to be asked questions or that someone would want to get breakfast before 7am. Breakfast only starts at 7am although hotel is located in a business area. Hotel should consider starting breakfast earlier or have takeaway bags readily available for guests who leave earlier. This is supposed to be a four star hotel so that wouldn't be unreasonable. Also four star hotels usually try to please their guests but the hotel staff that I ran into just seemed generally annoyed at guests, except for one East Asian woman who was pleasant.
