The room was large but was a bit dated. The bathroom was nice and clean but there was no space for my toiletries. Had to use the little space on the sink to put my toiletries. The door to the toilet squeaked when opening and closing it. The bed was comfortable and I slept well however, the headboard had a padded back that was flaking. It was difficult to get comfortable. The room also had a small table and a working desk. And a refrigerator which I used. The carpet was stained but it didn't bother me.
Overall my rating is a solid 4 stars. I recommend it for a few nights stay if you don't mind the items mentioned.

Front desk wasn’t very friendly upon check in.

Hallway under renovation.

Room not soundproof. Could hear water flushing, running through the walls. Could hear neighbours with loud voices…even heard another neighbour knock on their door to lower voices.

Walls had stains.

Washroom however was clean and renovated.

Only small issue I had was the drain in the shower was very slow to drain which caused a big puddle in the rest of the bathroom, reception staff said they would send someone up to look at it so hopefully that’s not an issue for anyone else staying.

Lovely and clean and centrally located. A short walk into town and far enough away from noise and disturbance. I had such a comfortable stay here.

Modern rooms with tasteful decor and really great bathrooms. Amazing shower!!

Really pleased with the size of my single room and as it was on the top floor it was very quiet.
Disappointed that I was not aware of the work and scaffolding going on at the hotel prior to my visit.
Staff pleasant and welcoming.
I was ok with the 25 minute walk into the centre but it would not suit everyone.

Dont let the dated lobby fool you, as I had a wonderful stay in a newly renovated room. Everything I needed and definitely the best kettle to boil water I've experienced. Great bed, good wifi, clean, ref and excellent bathroom. Friendly staff and a very smooth stay. Loved it.

Meets expectations

The hotel is nice - it's good value for money for its location and photos are accurate. Our stay was July 2021 and the building works cited by other reviews were not taking place as far as we could tell and there were very few other guests (presumably this is down to Covid).
It is slightly noisy due to the hotel being on a main road with a tram, but this wouldn't put us off staying there again, and the public transport links are actually a big plus.
The staff were really great during our stay and genuinely seemed invested in us enjoying our trip. They helped us with taxis, organising a covid test for travel, they were the best.

Decent place to stay

Overall, I really enjoyed our stay. It was just a quick one-night stay to visit a friend so we didn't spend much time here. The best was clean, but the thing that got me was our shower. Luckily, since it was just one night, we just went without using it. But the shower was visibly dirty and seemed to have some sort of film on it it. People were nice, and overall it was a decent stay.

With a cut in water supply for an entire afternoon and drilling noise all day this place was still not a bad choice considering the proximity to the grand central area. The hotel staff were courteous and fixed a clogged sink soon after our arrival and informing to the front desk. The biggest complain about the room are the slow internet speed and the tiny size of the bathroom. Overall it was still value for the money spent.

Excellent customer service. Even though I arrived around 10:am after a very long day/night of flying from the U.S., the staff was very accommodating and allowed me to check in early. I appreciated that very much. Not a very nice view from the window, could only see the emergency stairwell and alley, A minor disappointment, the towels and sheets did not smell fresh, but like they were laundered with the kitchen towels and napkins. Great location, tram at front door, Grand Place and Gare Central only minutes walk from hotel. Will stay again.

Room smaller than picture, shower floods

Very disappointing.

The good part: the room \"looks\" nice, is renovated, and the AC works.

The bad parts:

The room does not look anything like the picture of what we booked on the website / confirmation email. We got a tiny shoebox... while the picture was of a normal room with plenty of space. Total bait and switch.
The shower is a mess - a quick shower completely flooded the bathroom! The reservation said \"shower/tub combination\", but all we got is a floor with a shower...no tub in sight.
Next day, after cleaning the room, they took away dirty towels, but didn’t give us clean ones. I guess we are not allowed to shower here... Called the reception for towels, no answer. Walked downstairs, asked the guy about it, and they said they’ll send someone (no apology).

To top it off, no conditioner in the amenities kit.

I'm ignoring the mess in the lobby due to construction, and random furniture in the hallway.

Also, no upgrade or any recognition of my diamond select status.

Would not recommend this hotel at all.

Good location for a budget hotel

The time in Brussels was excellent. Staff at the hotel are professional, nice and helpful. The location is good if one walks in one direction from the hotel, if one walks in the other direction from the hotel, the area is not so nice and is quite close to the hotel. The shower leaked and sprayed over the ceiling and basically flooded the bathroom floor, which we had to use towels to soak up. The rooms could be updated for a place that is listed as 3 stars.

Nice Getaway for Couples

We were visiting for NYE and had a wonderful time! About a 10 minute walk to the central area but worth walking because it's a nice area! Easy to get around and clean and comfortable hotel. If we are back in Brussels, we will be staying here again. Don't waste your money on the breakfast. If you go down the street, theres a bunch of cafes that are much nicer!

Good location 7 minute walk from centre on Main Street with museums and palaces. Room small but clean and comfortable. No bath just shower and basic toiletries. some poorly designed lighting in small room and limited poor quality TV channels. Good coffee and tea tray plus minibar well stocked but no prices meant I did not use it. Good for my short trip and few improvements would make a big difference

Reception staff are an asset.

I had never stayed in Brussels before and booked online without understanding the layout of the city. This hotel is a little further from the city centre than I had imagined - not a problem for me as the weather was good during my stay and I am reasonably fit so walking wasn't a major problem but it could be an issue for people who aren't physically fit. I was most interested in having a quiet, clean room and was given one that looked on to an internal fire escape so no view but definitely quiet so no complaints from me. I can't therefore comment on views from other rooms. There appeared to be a problem with dampness penetrating the bathroom wall into the bedroom as paintwork on the bedroom wall was lifting and was unsightly. No impression (smell or damp feeling in the atmosphere) of dampness in the bedroom but it was unsightly and if it was in my home I would be worried. The bar fridge did not appear to work very well and barely kept contents cooler than the ambient temperature - disappointing. The thermostat in the bedroom did not appear to work well. Even though it was set at 19 the room was much warmer than this so the only way to cool the room was to turn the unit off and everyday housekeeping turned it back on. Staff at reception were generally very helpful and friendly - quite an asset for the hotel. Notwithstanding my (relatively minor) negative comments I would be happy to stay here again.

In a nice part of town.

I had a bad experience with this place, but I imagine under the right circumstances it would be a decent place. The wifi in my room was just bad, kept dropping me, disconnected at random times. I was told that if I really needed it I could come down to the lobby.
The cleaning service in the hotel had a strange schedule as well, opening the room door to clean even after the 3pm check in time. They were nice enough though, and did a good job on the room.
The front desk were probably the worst part of the trip. Only one even attempted to be accommodating. The others made it seem like my complaints were unfounded.

Absolute worst hotel experience of my life. Arrived at the hotel to be told that only single beds were available when I had booked and paid for a queen... no big deal. Went up to the room, the room was like an oven and when I tried to turn the AC on it didn't work. An added plus, no working wifi either. The gentleman at the reception desk said \" complain to the manager in the morning, we have lots of problems\". Room itself, dirty with hairs all over the pillow and sheets. I am shocked that Expedia would advertise and make this hotel available for booking. I am so disappointed

About 10 -15 minutes walking distance to most of the tourist attractions, not far from main train and bus station. Hotel staff is really friendly and helpful. Just as a tip if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not facing the Main Street (the tram passes right in front of the building every hour). Clean room!

Nice hotel amazing location

I am the type of traveller who likes to stay close but not too close to the city centre and the attractions for safety issues

Location of this hotel was amazing everything was in walking distance however the duvet was not warm enough for my liking so I slept cold on the first night but second the staff was kind enough to find an extra blanket for me but oddly the housekeeper roomed it away while cleaning my room

The room is small compared with those photos. I booked doube room with queen bed, even only one person. When I checked in, they gave me a tiny single room, single bed. However, they were quickly changed when I asked. But honestly, how is the bed size of 140x200 as queen bed??? The coffee, tea are free of charge but the coffee milk was out of date. It was unacceptable for the 3 start hotel

The wifi is fast and the room is clean. The location is great with around 10-15minutes walk to the biggest shopping mall and shopping streets.

I don't recommend staying in this hotel. I Stayed for a week. Printer in business center didn't have the cartridge to print on the 1st day and the situation was the same till the last day, they didn't bother to fix it. House keeping was pathetic, had to call them every day to clean the room and they cleaned the room only twice in 7 days. Also the staff provided wrong information about the rate to make a call from the room and I ended up paying double the amount because of wrong information by the hotel staff. Also during the checkout their card machine wasn't working because of which I had to wait almost half an hour at the reception.

Great Central Location

First time in Brussels and my train got in very early in the Morning. The hotel is close to the Central Station as well as the subway so it's easy to get to from Airport or Train Station. The hotel staff was very friendly and they had a secure room to store luggage in which was great and let me explore right away (especially since check in doesn't start till 3). The hotel is in a safe area, just down the road from the Royal Palace and other government buildings as well as close to the Grand Place where city hall is located without the large noisy crowds and pan handlers. The room is a bit outdated and could use a refresh but still was confortable and quiet. A nice stay and will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Friendly and professional staff, clean and quiet room. I didn't have breakfast here so I cannot comment. Good location close to restaurants, shopping malls, botanic garden and metro so easy to move around the city. Also walking distance from Central train station.

I didn't like to have feather pillows as they don't provide any neck support but also supports cruel industry practice where feathers are plucked from birds while they are alive causing painful and bloody wounds.

Good for business trips.

Pleasant hotel slightly away from centre

The Best Western is a rather anonymous hotel, about 20 minutes walk from the Grand Place, and not too far from Botanique metro station. It's on a tramline (which may be noisy on the front of the hotel) and close to a Villo! bike rental station, and walking distance from the main EU quarter.

It's clean and comfortable enough; and my room at the rear of the hotel was reasonably quiet. The bathroom (which included a narrow bath) was fine.

Breakfast cost extra and was similarly unmemorable, and although the pain au chocolat was rather dry, the fresh fruit salad was better than average. There was limited got food (scrambled egg and sausage), plus a restrcited continental selection and a small range of cereals and jam; only rolls or pre-sliced bread.

I stayed for couple of days during a short visit to Brussels. It is located in a nice area with mostly businesses. There is a tram outside and buses as well. Metro is about 5 minutes walk. Room is small, but clean and quite. So, it is a basic hotel that meets your need for a short stay.

Well appointed air-conditioned inviting rooms (with good WIFI, varied tv channels, in-room safe), inviting bathroom too with tub. City center and two train stations are easily walkable (even with luggage). Friendly staff but 3pm check in seems to be enforced. Though rooms are supposedly sound-proofed, you could still hear trams and door slamming (from inconsiderate guests).

Pros: helpfull and nice staff, near the main attractions and central station.

Cons: currently under renovations and so the room is noisy during the day. The room does not contain a safe, but the front desk does. The bathtub is too small and the shower head falls down many times.

A hotel in a street which seems abandoned peppered by vacant office blocks.On the 2 nights I stayed I was pestered by vagrants looking for a cigarette with 'fire'!!!!!!
I also saw one of these people attempt to gain access to the building at12.15am but was stopped by the Night Manager.

The room was tiny, but it was on the 8th floor (top). and it did have a balcony which was nice. I didn't hang out in the room much, as I was just sight seeing in the city. I think the other reviewers making comment about the area not safe is referring to the other Best Western north of this one in the red light district. The Best Western Royal Centre is on a street that I felt very safe. Also in May, Belgium doesn't get dark until 10:30 pm, being a solo woman traveler I felt comfortable walking around the area. I enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in my booking. You have a good choice of warm and cold selection. For the price I paid, I think it was a good value.
And it is central enough, you do need to walk about 15 min to get to the Grand Place, but on the way, there's a church to see. And it's also very close to the Palace and Parks. I liked the location to be away from the crowd but close enough to get to what you want to see around the city.

Dirty and not in good condition

I checked in late at night to find my room was run down, dirty and not as advertised. Unfortunately the hotel was full so it wasn't possible to move room. One of the staff was very rude, but there was also a very kind, friendly lady who did help me. Surprised...not in a good way.

Good location. Nice rooms, especially for Europe. The staff was NOT very friendly, and not very helpful. A surprise for a Best Western Hotel.

A good choice for last minute trip

Roon is smaller than I expected & a bit old in condition. Yet, the staff is helpful. Can stay only 1 night. Location is good which around 5 mins to metro.

Lovely Hotel

I stayed for 2 nights and it was great. They had wonderful service (and spoke perfect English) and were very friendly and helped me get to the metro, tourist sites, etc.

The hotel is only a 10 min walk to Grand Place and everything else and a short walk from Central Station.

Good location, good value, good staff..

Consistently good experience with all staff encountered during three night stay. Clearly motivated and trained consistently. This particular hotel is a credit to the Best Western brand.
