We had two rooms here, a family room with two adults and three small children, and two adults in a queen room. The queen room is in the main hotel whereas a family room is in an annex very close by. The family room is giant with a dining table for six, pullout sofa, and a kitchenette with refrigerator and hot plate and separate bedroom with king bed. There were free drinks (water, coke, beer) in the fridge. Overall, this was perfect for us with our six, three and one year-old. They provided a crib on request. My only concern is that the windows open very easily and there is no barrier to the outside. It is actually very dangerous to have toddlers in a room by themselves. We remedied this by splitting up and sleeping one adult in each room, not ideal.
The location is amazing and we had no trouble with the noise but a little with the light in the living room, no blackout curtains and there is a lot of light from the galleries. I would give five stars if they had a railing in front of the windows and blackout curtains.

Really convenient location, close to all the major historical sites, shopping and Christmas Markets. Hotel has rooms in 2 sites. We were in room 202 which is in the Galleria St Hubert. Room is spacious and well appointed but unfortunately noisy due to shouting in the middle of the night (happened all 3 nights) and why I lowered the rating as otherwise was excellent.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel des Galeries – the room, the ambiance, and most of the staff were excellent. However, the experience was soured by the attitude of one staff member at reception, Matt (mornings). From the moment we arrived early on October 27, he was unwelcoming and reluctant to help. Throughout our 4-day stay, he remained cold and unhelpful with even basic requests like local recommendations. The worst was on our last day: he arranged a taxi that never showed, and instead of assisting us, simply told us to find one on the street, offering no apology or guidance. For a hotel of this standard, such service is unacceptable. Everything else was great – but this particular staff member truly spoiled the otherwise warm experience.

Great hotel, better for couples than families with small kids. The apartment we stayed in was really cool and in a great location if you want the nightlife vibe, we had little kids so didn't do much at night. The room was soundproof so we didn't hear any noise. If we were a couple or group of friends 5 stars absolutely, with kids I give a 4.5. Really neat location!

The Hotel des Galeries leaves a lot to be desired. Its marketing is misleading and does not reveal what it lacks. The picture of the arched glass ceiling is of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and not the old hotel. People are not told: 1. It is in two locations, ~ 50 meters apart. Both places require walking to (as no cars are allowed in the areas). 2. No room safes. 3. No AC, one portable fan. 4. One Front desk, often vacant. 5. Unlit entry. 6. Shared mini fridge in common area. Recommendation is Avoid.

We stayed here for five nights and it was a very disappointing hotel.
The Good: This is located in a very convenient area and in the nice building of the Galeries, so the location is great.
The size of the hotel room was very large.

The Bad: There is no air conditioning, so the room can get very hot. Unfortunately, opening the windows at night is not a viable option.
The noise echoes inside the Galeries building ALL NIGHT and is incredibly loud with people outside talking and yelling, so it it very hard if not
impossible to sleep. Closing the windows does make it quiet, but then the room gets hot.
The room was in an annex building that was shared by other tenants. It was old but fairly decorated.
The lighting in the room and the bathroom is terrible. Just a few very dim bulbs. With today's LED bulbs, better lighting should not be an issue.
The dark hallways and entrances are not very comforting. I would not recommend for someone who might feel unsafe in the dark.
The elevator was broken for a day and that meant climbing 3 flights of stairs each time.
The hotel lobby does not have someone there 24/7 and you cannot access the lobby for help. You have to find the phone number (not given) to call someone for help.

We have made many trips to Europe and have had pretty good experience with most of our hotel choices. Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

The hotel reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. We arrived earlier than expected, and the receptionist kindly tried to arrange an early check-in for us. Unfortunately, the rooms were not yet ready. They also assisted us by providing clear directions to the buses and trains.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to go downstairs and see what they offered for breakfast. I know it was available, but since we were always on the move, we ended up having breakfast elsewhere. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable.

It’s a nice hotel if you like minimalism. No Kleenex, no hairdryer(ZI didn’t wash my hair for 2 days)), bathroom is claustrophobic as there are no vents. It’s a NY style decor making it look stylish with no comfort.
Beds and pillows were very clean and comfortable. Front desk Rodrigo was very helpful. Taxis cannot come to drop off or pick up so we had to lug our luggage to get there.

located in the heart of old town Brussels, this property is an old architecture, with spacious rooms and well maintained conditions. I wish the staff on duty during the day was a bit more customer friendly and empathetic. A stone face with a uniform answer: we don't have any rooms until after 3pm really doesn't come across well. the guy in the evening shift was very friendly and flexible.

Cute hotel that is not so clean

While the hotel is very cute, it has its share of problems. The room is not clean. There was a dirty cup of coffee when we checked in and the glasses were never changed. There were also fingerprint marks in the toilet room walls.
The morning concierge was very nice. The ones at night not as much, they barely said hello or acknowledge people entering.

Location was prime amazing. Facility is nice enough if it were kept up. But paint is cracked, floor of bathroom was stained. Shower couldn’t keep the water in the shower, it just splashed on the floor. Room 42 kings building.

I’d stay here again, the location is that great. I just don’t think this is a 4 star hotel. It’s more like a nice 3 star establishment.

This is not a 4-star hotel. The best thing about this hotel is its location to Brussels central station. It otherwise was a poorly maintained property. In our room, the sheets were stained as was the shower floor. The bathroom walls were dirty and appeared to have rarely been cleaned. There was also a clearly visible footprint on the floor, raising questions as to whether the floor had been cleaned. We raised our concerns with the state of the room and, to the hotel’s credit, we were moved into another room. That room was certainly more clean. However, it’s clear the hotel is very low budget. There was no box of tissues, no hair conditioner or body wash, and no hair dryer. The only offerings were one bar of soap and shampoo. In my opinion, this hotel is akin to a Best Western or similar 3-star hotel.

It is a very nice hotel but wasn't obvious from the descriptiuon is that the street which the hotel is on is all cobblestone and very narrow and the taxis can not drive on it after 8:30 am, so our driver had to drop us off considerable far fro the hotel because of the traffic. All os the streets in area are cobblestone, so we had to drag out wheeled lugges over 6 blocks to the hotel. Fortunatley it didn't ruin the wheels. When we were leaving at 6 am, the taxi was able to stop right in front of the hotel.
There is a wonderful cookie and waffle shop right beside it and we could always smell fresh cookies, it was very enticing and the shop if very good.
The beds were firmer than what my travel companion and I like so we had to sleep on top of a duvet to make them softer.
The location is very good and close to a lot of attractions and walking distance to the Central train station for day trips.
Hot water pressure was good an always lots of hot water.
wonderful restaurant across the street and Les Galleries for shopping is about 20 steps away.

Be aware that the neighbourhood is pedestrians only so if taking a cab from the airport you will need to pull your luggage through the cobblestone streets.

We never saw the same person twice at the front desk, but everyone was friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. Our room was simple but clean and bright, with a surprise little balcony. Location was GREAT for exploring Brussels; note that it is right next to/above a Maison Dandoy so it always smells amazing (like waffles and cookies). :-) Note that the hotel is only accessible by car during early morning and maybe also late at night —otherwise if taking a taxi/Uber you need to be dropped off or picked up at either end of the Royal Galleries and walk 500 feet or so over smooth pavers to the hotel entrance. There are metro stops ~15 minutes away in two directions. We would stay here again for sure.

Fab hotel in a great central location, 5 minutes walk to central station and in the heart of some great bars and restaurants. Staff were super friendly and helpful with restaurant reservations etc. Lovely quiet room. Perfect location for visiting all the main tourist destinations in Brussels and easy access to Bruges and Ghent if you fancy a day out by train. Highly recommended!

First rooms we were given faced were on the 4th floor which faced the backside of the arcade’s glass atrium so no view at all of the beautiful arcade which is the reason we picked this hotel. Also the bathroom in one room smelled of sewer gas. So we asked for new rooms which we were given on the second floor. Much better but overall the rooms were too spartan with IKEA furniture and reminded us of staying in a hostel versus a nice hotel.

My rrom was well set out and it felt quite roomy for a brussels hotel. The room was so noisy, it wasbon the pedestrian route and passed bybpeople shouting till early morning, then replaced by litter collectors.
The room smelt of food, sweet sometimes and a little fatty others. I prefer the stairs over the lift, but touched the rail of it and it was sticky.
If you are a heavy sleeper, no sence of smell and take lifts, this is dor you.

The hotel was close to all our tourist stops. We had 3people traveling and had two separate rooms which was nice compared to other location in Europe. Locating the hotel was difficult and taxis had trouble. Recommend coordinating taxi with hotel prior. Pick up service through hotel was fantastic.

Also monitor you train stops they are very close to central.

- Location: provided great convenience to shopping, restaurants, and transportation. 1.5 point
One eyesore of the area was the amount of trash outside businesses, and cans overflowing.
- Hotel staff: available and friendly. 1 point
- Amenities: Lack of what we would consider common amenities for a room at this rate: no microwave, no refrigerator, no obvious ice for drinks, no comfortable area to sit and relax, and the wood floors creaked loudly, to the point that someone going to the bathroom would cause the other person to wake up. 0 points
- Shower: the area was tight but workable, except that the drain cap was right where one would stand, so that was frequently knocked loose/off. Also, the rain-shower portion was not attached correctly, so it leaked at the point where its extension connected to the main pipe, and was effectively unusable. 0 points
- Tub: nicely sized and relaxing, however it took probably 30 minutes to fill to a reasonable level. 0.5 points

We didn't eat at the \"restaurant\" that was integrated at the hotel, but it looked like a small grill with at least a reasonable continental style offering to be expected, and would not have altered the considerations above in any manner.

Generally, would recommend this for a night or two, and solely for the location. Otherwise, would find a place with a bit more room space and conveniences to have the ability to comfortably relax after a long day of sightseeing or shopping.

Absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The staff at reception were fantastic. Really delighted with this place. It was safe, clean, quiet, close to everywhere we wanted to go, the decor was great and we felt so welcomed. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fabulous hotel in Brussels

very convenient to all of brussels and transportation..dining all around as well.....very old property nicely renovated but in three person room the double bed is in upstairs loft and the bathroom is downstairs. the stairs are not easy to maneuver for elderly folks...tv is downstiars as well and the downstairs area is large but seating is absent other than a chair...bathroom is adequate.. staff is very helpful and pleasant

This is truly more of a hostile experience. If you are looking for an amazing location at a reasonable price, or as was the case with us a three person room, you’ll be fine for a night or two. Rugs were stained, and one of our two rooms had no television. We also ran out of toilet paper. My biggest complaint was after hours access. The main front door was locked after hours and we had to ask to be let out. The staff member on duty seemed very put out. We were jet lagged and wanted to walk the square without all the crowds, and he seemed annoyed with us. Location was a block from the heart of Brussels, and nearby parking garage was only $22 overnight. Great location, but zero amenities and could have been cleaner.
