Checking in was a breeze and the person who checked us in was very nice. I reserved two suites because we gave my sister and her husband the trip as a gift. When I walked into my suite….I was mind blown!!! I could not believe my eyes!! It was so incredible!! I literally could not get over the suite!! Yes, it was spotless but my goodness, the suite was incredible!! Then I went to see my sister’s suite and again, my jaw hit the floor!! I felt like royalty!!! The hotel is just beyond words.

We had a wonderful stay- the hotel was so convenient to the the central station, but still in a really cute area (sometimes close to train stations is a little sketchy). The staff were lovely, the room was great and had plenty of space.

The room was very large, but the kitchen was a bit dated. I know the room is supposed to be true to the period, but the kitchen had no utensils or microwave, but it did have an oven. The front desk staff was truly great. Housekeeping also did a nice job. The hotel was a bit difficult to find as even our taxi driver sent us the wrong way as the hotel can't be accessed during the majority of the day as it become a pedestrian zone. Well situated. Super close to museums, train station, shopping and restaurants. I would stay here again.

The location is great! It's right by the Central station which is very good to know if you're traveling by train. It's a block and a half from the station at most. Our room was on the third floor. It was huge, which was great. There is an elevator, however there are a couple of stairs you need to negotiate to get to this particular room and a couple of stairs after the door is open to the room. This could be the case with other rooms, I'm not sure. The bad part for us was there are huge wooden beams in front of the doorways once inside the main room. The beams train you to duck, however sometimes you forget and bam you bang your head. I would not use this suite again. I would insist on a room without beams. We were there for only two nights so we didn't change. Also there was the smell of gas in the kitchen area. I mentioned it to the person at the desk via phone he said there's no gas in the building. I still smelled the gas the next day, the person at the desk at checkout said the gas was turned off for the season. Go figure!

The first night of staying my son went to get some water from the gym prior to going back to use it and was accused of taking water he was not allowed to take (there is none provided in the room).
On day 2 I went to use the gym and stretch as I have had back surgery. There is a sauna which I turned on to use. After 2 minutes the lights went off and a different member of staff approached me aggressively saying I had to reserve the sauna an hour before and you had to tell them if you were using the gym. There is no sign or notification and the treatment was absolutely disgusting. This is the first negative review I have ever had to write about staff and it happened twice - I would skip this hotel on that basis.
My wife used the gym in the morning and had no such issue so even the messaging is not consistent

This hotel was fantastic. Located very close to the central train station (3 minute walk), and in an area with lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is very beautiful. The room was large, and the AC worked great. The floors do squeak loudly when walking on them, due to the originality of them (not a big deal). I did have to report that the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking from above, a staff member came right away and made sure the unit above was not flooding the place and said the leak might be from the AC in the units running harder in the summer (also not a big deal). The only real complaint I have about this place was that the mattress needs to be replaced or a topper needs to be put on it. I could feel the springs in the bed. Despite these minor issues, I loved my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

Although very close to both the Grand Place and Galleries St Hubert, the hotel was a calm and quiet respite from the throngs of tourists and bustle of Belgium's capital city. It definitely reflected the 17th Century charm of its name. And, it was the first hotel where we left our bags before we could check in that had already delivered them to our room when we did. A confusing stay in Brussels
An interesting stay. The building is old, but in a charming way, however, the images vs the reality were a bit of a shock. The images would lead me to be believe there was an upgraded condition of the room, however, it felt like it was several hundred years old because it basically was. A very peculiar setup, design, condition, you name it. Aside from the condition, the location can’t really be beaten, check-in/out staff was lovely, and there it’s in walking distance of the major sites, bars, food. Can’t say I’d stay again, but the view from the room was great, the rest left much, much to be desired.

I got a room even being very early (10 am), that helped. The room was in a courtyard, which is nice, very silent. The suite is very large, with an area for the bed, another for tv/desk and other with a couch. The bathroom was also divided in two areas, including one with a bathtub and shower. Before checking out, very early (around 6 am) I informed the man at the reception that I was going look for some coffee at the station first. He then offered me a cup of coffee at the reception, saving the trouble and the time of looking for coffee.

The positioning of the hotel for sightseeing and getting about on transport was excellent. Our room on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard was quiet at night. We didn't take breakfast thinking it was pricey but actually found nearby cafe breakfast was similarly priced. We enjoyed our stay , we would have liked to have used the lounge/bar but sadly although it was beautifully dressed it lacked atmosphere and ambience. The check in desk is set back from entering the hotel which adds to the feel of the hotel which is smart but not the most relaxed environment.

For our entire stay, the water in our room was ice-cold. In February, this meant no showering and forced us to cancel activities like running and using the gym. Any sense of luxury was lost.
We reported the issue at 6 PM, yet by checkout at 10:30 AM, no plumber had arrived. While other rooms had hot water, we weren’t offered an alternative. The hotel’s compensation? A €10 per person discount—a disgraceful 10% off for such a fundamental failure.
I understand that problems happen, but the lack of urgency and inadequate response made this frustrating. A four-star hotel should offer more than a good location—it should provide basic comforts and proper service. Instead of feeling refreshed, we were relieved to go home.

This hotel is in a lovely old building within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. Our Standard Double room was quite spacious and very clean. Overall the room could use quite a few touchups and updating of fixtures, but mainly cosmetic. Room was not very soundproof; there was no street noise at all but a lot of noise from other people using same foyer entryway and room above us. But would still recommend this hotel for great location, charm, staff, and service.
