For a Marriot the location is excellent and the staff amazing but there are some improvements to be made.The hotel is in an excellent location, everything is walking distance within central Brussels! Our view especially overlooking the Bourse was wonderful. The room is nice but quite cosy when a rollaway bed is added for our child. Shower strength is very good although the plugs are slow draining in the shower and wash basin.
Breakfast buffet is fine - I would say being lactose intolerant that it could be improved with full allergen labelling of all food which is lacking and there is no vegan butter which is disappointing.
The reason for dropping the two stars besides the allergen food labelling is the bedding. The first night we went to bed late and to our dismay the topper on the bed felt like sleeping on horse hair - scratchy and fibrous and horrible to sleep on. Incredibly we were told this is standard bedding for the Marriott - its horrifically uncomfortable and then when I peeled back the sheet, found it was stained which was nasty. We were told there was no alternative hypoallergenic topper available as they were all booked out however the next evening we came back to the hotel and found the topper was changed to hypoallergenic feather one and it was like sleeping on a completely different bed. An apology card and some hors d’oeuvres were in the room too which was appreciated.

Good location however, beds were so uncomfortable, both my husband and I had terrible back pain. We also were put in a room that had a connection to another room and could hear everything in that room, from her phone conversations to going to the toilet, no sense of privacy. Staff did nothing to compensate when we told them, telling us the people would leave that night. Following night, had terrible construction noise and could hear everything outside.

Despite having a nice fit out, staff were not helpful, and noise made the stay very poor.

The staff were very nice, the room was ready two hours before we even should’ve been able to check in. The room was clean prepared and had all the amenities that we would like. I was just the right size. Excellent location very nice staff would suggest it to anyone that wants to have a good look around Brussels with a short walk places. Sidenote, they also have refillable water from a purified machine that can give you hot and cold water, which I found quite lovely.

The property and staff were lovely, and the breakfast was very nice. It is loud outside the hotel with some construction and just being located so close to the Grand Place. However, the convenience to metro and major sites was awesome and it served as a great home base for our family.

I would suggest this property strictly for location. Its not at all family friendly especially with kids under 10. Overall, it DOES NOT stand for its name i.e. Marriotts. If we choose premium hotel, we expect premium service buts its not. Outside the property, one can also see homeless people. No doubt its in premius or core location but its not maintained in a way it should be. I visited this with my family which included 6yrs ,and we were little uncomfortable. But anyhow....if one visit without kids, this place is good. English could be a little challenge but its still manageable.

This is a perfect located hotel you can walk around the best tourist area of Brussels. A lot of restaurants and coffee shop around plus good shopping. The rooms are clean and spacious, and looks like recently renovated . I highly recommend Marriot Brussels central plaza as your choice. Additionally you have the train station next to the hotel door and is easy to travel by train to another cities like Bruges. 5 💫

Great stay at the Brussels Marriott! The hotel is well-located, with easy access to the city’s top attractions. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

One thing to note: during our visit, there were evening protests outside hotel related to the situation in Palestine. While they were peaceful, the large crowds made the area feel a bit uneasy at times. Something to be aware of if you’re traveling with children or prefer a quieter environment in the evenings.

Overall, the hotel itself was a solid and reliable choice for exploring Brussels.

While there a large crowd of anti American and anti Jewish protesters took over central square. My understanding from the hotel is that this happens regularly - each day. For those looking to feel safe as American or Jewish or even supportive of either expect to hear death to America and death to isreal and river to the sea….etc. Likely each day you are there.

Marriott is located in an excellent location, right in the city centre and very close to the grand palace.

Hotel has excellent breakfast options and make your own waffle is an interesting option.

Cons:
Our check-in wasn’t smoothest I would say. A couple of staff at reception really need some training to be the face of a 4* property. Kaori at reception was not helpful and Nathalia is a rude person at reception. She made us realise as if we checked in a hostel or budget hotel. These 2 ladies definitely need some training on guest management and positive attitude for a Marriott.

Parminder thankfully managed the situation exceptionally well and gave a resolution to swing our experience instantly from negative to positive. Thanks to Parminder, we had a good start of our stay in Marriott.

Nicholas is also a pleasant staff at reception.

Overall a good hotel in a good location barring the experience dealing with Kaori and Nathalia. My sincere recommendation that these two people are better off being moved to back office until retrained for reception.

The nightly Palestine protests were a little unsettling. Also, the room was terribly dark! Really dark still with all lights on! We used the parking and at 1st it was not explained well. After we did it once, it was easier. The staff was friendly.

Room very clean and comfortable. On one occasion when using the bar I visited the ladies toilet. Condition of toilet was quite frankly deplorable. We didn’t always get our tea and coffee replenished but I’m sure we would have if we had requested.
Location is excellent, right in the heart of Brussels and within easy walking distance of the sights and pubs/restaurants.

if you are sensitive to Down feathers stay away from this place. Not only do they assume you are not but if you do not make arrangements ahead of time they will not even swap your pillows for synthetic pillows.
We arrived to this hotel not expecting this to be a problem, when we finally discovered the issue because our daughter was starting to have an asthma attack, we asked for the pillows to be swapped at least, they plain refused stating only the cleaning crew had access to them and they were already gone... Once our daughter started to have difficulty breathing we left, they charged us for the night and the manager refused to talk to us leaving his staff to apologize for the treatment!
It is shameful for a chain like Mariott.

At first there was a probpem where Expedia showed we booked in their system according to the marriott front desk, but it did not transfer to the marriott system. Luckily they had a room to put us in but had to charge us so will follow up to make certain not double charged. The marriott is in Grand place which was awesome for the Christmas markets and their Light Show in Grand place. Very nice hotel we enjoyed our time there. Staff was very friendly as well.

Really one of the worse Marriotts we have stayed at. No services no bellman’s no valet hotel parking was by far the worse rooms were dark shower door leaked water coffee maker did not work and when I asked for an extra bottle of water it took three request they are so European cheap no wash cloths even and the GM was rude and did not care. I will put my bill in for dispute but Please don’t stay their

The location of this hotel is great, very central and near lots of cafes and restaurants. Sadly the hotel wasn’t as great as I thought it would be after reading the reviews. Our family consisted of 1 adult and 2 children. We had booked a Superior King which came with an additional bed for my youngest. We arrived to no extra bed in the room, it was coming later in the evening. We only had 2 towels, 2 cups and 2 glasses not a room set up for 3 people. The room needed a bit of TLC, dents in the woodwork, the sink drained so slowly and the pressure from the shower was terrible. I expected more from the Marriott brand and the amount I had paid. Our view was out over the building work behind the hotel not a nice view. We were all looking forward to the breakfast as had read good things about it. But we were disappointed. The hot food was cold even the food that the chef had just brought out from the kitchen, you had to make your own waffles which wasn’t easy ours didn’t turn out very good so didn’t bother the next few mornings. The pancake mix was always empty and nobody around to change it. There were not enough staff, plates were piling up on our table and as a party of 3 most mornings we were sat at a table for 2 so was very cramped. We didn't spend much time in our room but it was good that the location was so central. A few things could be improved and it would make this hotel a fantastic place to stay.

Front desk was very good - efficient check-in and out and concierge was very helpful regarding helping me easily get to all my outings. The hotel is very well situated in Brussels’ Grand Place area and the subway, buses, trams and taxi stand are all a few metres from the hotel entrance. My room on the 6 th floor was very spacious and comfortable layout with excellent bathroom layout and best shower re easy to use hardware and water flow/ temperature. The 6 th floor was very quiet which I appreciated and the daily cleaning service was first rate. The main lobby is very tired looking and needs a complete redesign. Room service food was very poor quality and way over priced. The Restaurant Barcine sb shut down as its menu and service is poor and my croquet Barcine was served hit on the outside with cold meat and cheese in the inside! Latte was way overpriced compared to all other restaurants in the area. And their product line was very limited - no Perrier, no Coke of any kind. So great staff and location and room but hotel needs a renovation and the restaurant quality needs a much required rethink and improvement.

Right in the middle of the Brussel Central, close to the metro, all exciting restaurants and beautiful, historic buildings!!! The room temperature could be regulated better since the air conditioner didn’t work well. The Rotisserie is wonderful. The breakfast has a lot of choices but could be better. The staff are superb!!! I highly recommend Brussel Marriott Hotel Grand Central as a place to stay for vacation!

The service and staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful and hospitable. Will definitely visit here again and highly recommend staying here. The location is very central. The concierge department was 10/10. Charles Fouich in the food and beverage department was extremely helpful and his level of service was mind blowing and exceptional. Because of this hotel I will definitely visit Brussels again. Very warm, friendly, inviting and centrally located around everything.

My wife was taken ill half way through our four day stay, the staff were excellent and went above and beyond their job descriptions to assist me in obtaining what i needed, they were polite and helpful, right down to the cleaning staff, all brilliant. The front desk staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The person that came to clean the room didn’t come until about 2:30-3:30. We were resting and asked her to just leave clean towels. The second day we came back to the room at about 3:30, the room wasn’t cleaned yet and we had to call the front desk to ask them to get someone to clean the room.
The breakfast was very good.

Poorly equipped room. Only toiletry was hand soap. Bed literally titled to the left so you can’t sleel. Curtain came off at night (hanging on an angel). AC barely working. Set to 15c and room was warm. Tap water only beverage in room (nothing even for purchase)

This hotel was fantastic and would return. Location is 10/10. Found breakfast buffet a bit pricey for what it was. Had better breakfasts in other hotels for a lot less cost. (But still good)
Our only complaint would be a sewage smell present from the drains in the bathroom. Our first room was quite bad and they promptly moved us to another room. Still noticed it slightly in new room from time to time but not overbearing.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here.
